His comment about being quite used to weirdness and insanity elicited a genuine laugh out of Cordy; it really was...surprising that she'd managed to run into someone who got this sort of thing the way she did. Though it was by no means a bad thing, strangely enough. It really was just time to accept that her life - and most of the people in it - was the just about the farthest thing from normal that anyone in their right minds would be able to imagine. "Yeah, I kinda figured. You and me both." she told him at last, unable to fight back an amused smile at the insanity of it all...and how despite that, it really didn't seem all that insane at all. But...that was life. For them, at least.
And then Jax asked the big question: what now? He had a point, in terms of a first date they'd pretty much covered anything (covered it in the most bizarre manner possible, but covered it none the less) and now...? Well, now that she was paying attention to the time, it was actually getting sort of late. Odd, how quickly the night had flown by. But if their night was drawing to a close, Cordy wasn't going to skirt around saying something any longer. "Well - first of all, I think I should tell you...for this being the wacked out, death-defying spontaneous set up of a date that it was...I actually had a really nice time." She smiled at him, not an amused smile this time but a rather sincere one - it was sort of strange to admit it, but this really had been fun. Getting kicked out of a vegan restaurant, lying their way into a club and fighting off a horde of vampires, clearing a bunch of thugs out of IHOP before settling down to eat - this had to have been one of the weirdest first dates she'd ever been on. But she was also well aware that she hadn't had this much fun in a long time, and that was mostly thanks to the man sitting across from her.
"But if I'm gonna be responsible about it...I guess I really should be heading home. Unless I wanna be falling asleep in the middle of a case tomorrow." she reluctantly mused, a bit wearied by the thought of returning to work tomorrow. Then, however, she brightened slightly as another thought struck her. "But I wouldn't say no to a bike ride home. Cabs suddenly seem a little bit dull in comparison." she laughed lightly. It was true - but also, it gave her an excuse to spend a bit more time with Jax before the night was up. But that part went unsaid. And then, shooting him a classic trademark Cordelia Chase grin, she added. "...Oh, and if you're up for it...we should do this again sometime."
