Name: Lucy Leigh Turner
Alias: Oh, plenty of people have called her some very unique names behind her back, I'm sure.
Age: 38.
Ranking: Civilian.
Physical Appearance:
Lucy has a very petite, slight figure. She only scrapes about 5'1 max, and she's rather skinny - with not a lot of muscle to speak of, either, because the everyday activities of a surburbia-dwelling single mother aren't exactly strenuous. All in all, just by looking at her you wouldn't think she'd be able to do very much damage. She has long, chestnut brown hair that's slightly wavy, and more often than not piled on top of her head in a messy bun to keep it out of the way. Her eyes are similarly colored, if only a shade or two lighter. Lucy has...especially warm eyes. Even when she's not smiling in the usual conventional way, she's more often than not smiling with her eyes. Which makes that much more of an impact when that warm light suddenly goes out - which only happens when she's extremely pissed off.
The only thing brighter than Lucy's eyes is her smile. Her smile is very contagious, and her laugh? Even more so. Her smile lights up her whole face, which under any circumstances has a girl-next-door kind of cuteness to it - but nothing strikingly beautiful. Though her age is just starting to begin to show, laugh lines beginning to appear around her eyes, Lucy has a sort of youthful energy about her that, on her best days, almost makes her look like a kid again. For a woman who'll be able to call herself middle-aged in a few more years, she's got a whole lot of energy.
She's definitely not one for fancy-dressin'. Most often Lucy can be seen in a simple skirt and a blouse, or maybe even jeans and a t-shirt - you practically have to fight her tooth and nail to get her into formal wear. If you happen to run into her around New York, it won't be difficult to discern that she's not from around there - her chirpy, distinctive South Carolinian accent gives her away in a "hot second", as she would say.
Personality:
Ironically, Lucy's temper has often been described as being as versatile as the weather. She can be as sweet and charming as any proper lady one moment, and as fiery and hostile as a spitting cat the next - it all really depends on how invested you are in provoking her. Not that...provoking her's difficult, really. You mostly just have to rub her the wrong way somehow - do that, and she won't be afraid to tell you what she thinks of you. She has a very low tolerance for three things: stupidity, weasel-y "sleazeball" men (as she so affectionately refers to them), and anyone who tries to control her life or tell her what she can't do.
I wouldn't call Lucy "mean" - in fact, she holds nothing but disdain for any unnecessary display of cruelty, and she hardly goes out of her way to antagonize anyone - but once you get her riled up, she doesn't hold back. She is a very spirited, very opinionated woman with a hell of a lot of spunk - and a mouth that sometimes gets her into trouble. Dirty mouth, too. The girl swears like a sailor - charming, right? She's most definitely not the type to allow anyone to walk all over her (or others who can't defend themselves) at any rate, and she's not very good at choosing her battles. Most often, she sticks to her "butt heads with absolutely anyone who crosses me" policy.
That's not to say she can't be pleasant. She can be when she wants to be. Despite her spitfire attitude, Lucy has a way of making people smile. Her laugh is contagious, her words (when she bothers to soften them) are witty and genuine, and she has a certain sense of playful kiddishness about her that makes her pretty damn good at getting people to lighten up. Lucy can be surprisingly kind when she feels that someone needs her help, and she shows a fierce loyalty to anyone she grows close to. And when I say 'loyalty', I don't just mean that she'll always have your back (though she will) - I also mean that she's one of those people who will cancel any plans she has, bake a fresh apple pie (she's famous for her pies) and head right on over to a friend's house just to be there with them if they need a good cry.
Lucy is the type who likes to believe the best of people, but she's not an idiot. She's well-aware that the world isn't all sunshine and rainbows, and that there are bad people out there. But the way she sees it, it isn't her job to tangle with them. All Lucy wants, really, is a normal life with a normal family. So far she's done a pretty good job of accomplishing that, and she's not looking to give it up any time soon.
Powers/Abilities:
Lucy is an atmokinetic. In plain English, that means she has the ability to control the weather - well, more or less. There are a lot of varying abilities that go along with that, and a lot of limitations as well - so here we go.
First of all, Lucy never asked to be different (who does, really?) and she doesn't particularly want to be. All she really wants to do is mind her own business and live a normal life with her family, and as such...she doesn't use her abilities too often. I won't lie and say she's sworn off using it altogether - she'll cheat a little sometimes, clear up a rainy day when she's planned some sort of outdoor activity, cause a bit of snowfall so her kid can have a white Christmas, that sort of thing. But she doesn't tend to use her abilities for anything major, or at least she hasn't up until this point.
As such, she's not really at the full extent of her power these days. Far from it, actually. Just like physical strength that needs to be built up, Lucy's ability doesn't stay strong if she doesn't practice it regularly. There was a point in time when she literally had the ability to create superstorms: massive hurricanes, F5 tornadoes, monsoons capable of flooding streets, the works - but none of those abilities are accessible to her right now.
So then, let's cover what she can do.
Temperature Control - Ever heard someone say that the room gets a little colder when someone walks into it? With Lucy, that's sometimes literally the case. She can actually drop or raise the temperature of the room she's in. It's mostly linked to her mood; doing it consciously requires some concentration (especially when she's putting forth an effort to change the temperature by more than ten degrees). Of course, just because she can CHANGE the temperature of the air around her doesn't mean she's immune to these changes. You don't need to worry about her spiking the temp. high enough to boil your blood - because obviously, she'd be affected by that too.
The Sun'll Come out...Tomorrow! - Lucy can cloud a sky over within a matter of minutes, and clear it up in about the same amount of time. She can also influence the type of clouds, which gives her a decent amount of control over precipitation - she can make it rain, snow, or hail at will.
Wind Manipulation - Some who've only seen this aspect of her power might mistake Lucy for a telekinetic - and she can move certain objects around, but only by blowing them with charged gusts of wind. She can create and control these gusts on a whim, and they can get to be fairly powerful - though the most she's capable at present are maybe 50-60 mile per hour winds.
Storm Manipulation - As stated previously, Lucy isn't yet capable of creating massive, severe superstorms - but powerful thunderstorms, at least, she can do...though these tend to sap the energy from her pretty quickly. With enough concentration, she can actually will lightning to strike right at a person - one of her most potent abilities. However, creating a storm is something Lucy is especially hesitant to do, and she doesn't often do it intentionally. Mainly because once a storm gets bad enough, it'll be awhile before she can actually regain enough control to stop it when she wants to. Lucy's not a big fan of putting the people she cares about in harm's way, and storms aren't exactly selective about who they hurt, so...

Weaknesses
Psychological Flaws:
- Her most blatant, and probably most easily exploited psychological weakness, is how much she cares about her family. Well...'family' being her two kids and their little Jack Russel terrier. Lucy would do just about anything for them, and its pretty obvious to everyone around them. A lot of times, this is something someone could use against her. She's really completely blinded by her loyalty to them...though at the same time, be warned. If her kids are seriously threatened, she will GO MAMA GRIZZLY ON YO ASS. And as most people know, there are very...very few things scarier than a pissed off mother protecting her children.
- Another weakness playing off of her maternal instincts! ...They don't just extend to her own children. Lucy's one of those people who was just born to be a mother. She's also one of those people who tends to act like she's everyone's mother. Especially kids - any kids she runs into, even openly evil ones, she's going to hesitate to hurt. She'd much rather fuss over them instead.
- Her temper could definitely be considered a weakness. It's not difficult to make Lucy do something reckless out of anger, even in situations where it REALLY doesn't look good for her in a fight.
- Lucy's abilities are directly connected to her emotions. When she's especially crabby, it tends to rain. When she's bright and perky, it "coincidentally" tends to be sunny. To a further extent than this, though, the more control she loses over her emotions...the more she loses over her powers. And losing control is something she definitely doesn't want to do.
- Lastly, she is infamously stubborn. She absolutely can't seem to back down from an argument, even after she's realized she's wrong, and it's the same way in a full-out fight. Even when she's losing and it doesn't look like things are going to turn in her favor, Lucy just can not back down. She also has a lot of difficulty accepting any sort of help from anyone else, even when it's clear she needs it.
Physical Flaws:
- Given the nature of her abilities, and how they rely on...well, mother nature, Lucy is of course put at a disadvantage while she's inside. You can't make it rain indoors, after all.
- Though some would probably describe her as a force of nature (in more ways than one), Lucy's only human. She doesn't have superstrength, superspeed, accelerated healing - any of that. She's vulnerable to the physical injuries that all humans are.
Other Flaws: What's a flaw?
