Category: ORIGINAL, MAN
Name: Subject B.L.A.D.E.
Alias: Operative BLADE, Mark Six, Guillotine, Sawblade, Captain Slicer
Age: Designed eighteen years ago; first model created thirteen years ago; current "frame" constructed four years ago.
Ranking: Anti Hero
Physical Appearance:
Blade is a rather unremarkable specimen to look at. A combat model designed in the frame of a 'consumer model' robot, he attracts far less attention than the larger, more bulky models obviously designed for combat would. He stands at six foot even, and weighs in at exactly 240 pounds, thanks to his dense construction. He is designed with a primarily red and navy blue color scheme, with touches of orange and gold here and there.
His torso and waist are both a dark red, almost crimson in color, seperated by a dark blue 'belt' between them. Beginning right at the joing of his upper thighs, down to his knees, his legs are dark, navy blue. Capping off his knees are two large orange plates, rimmed with silver. Behind this is an expanded leg system to allow for more stability, colored yellow and rimmed with dark orange. His feet are the same crimson as his torso.
His shoulders are round, and the same crimson as his torso. Emerging from his shoulders, his arms are navy blue down to the wrist, where they again become red, but a somewhat lighter shade than his torso and shoulders.
On his chest, there is a sort of 'tie' design, in a dark blue, which reaches up to the top of his chest, and is met by a 'collar' of gold which circumvents his neck. Set in the blue area is a glowing orange crystal.
His head is completely covered over by a 'helmet' of red, much lighty than his torso. It entirely covers his head and face, save for his eyes and upper cheeks, and the area immediately 'beside' his eyes. Set right in between his eyes, positioned just so so as to not obscure his vision is a small sawblade, like the type he uses for battle.
On either side of his head where his ears would be, there are two circles of gold, with a crimson interior. Protruding from both of them is an eight inch long spike, colored gold. They both end in a razor sharp point, and the edges of them are sharp as well. Their main purposes was as antennae, for remote commands to be issued.
And finally, Blade's eyes are the same glowing orange as the crystal set in his chest.
Personality: Blade is somewhat lacking in the personality department. He was built and designed to operate solely on logic above all else, though also given a modicum of free will and the ability to 'learn' a personality. While great leaps and bounds have been made from his original construction and his first days, he is still a bit flat and quite brittle in his mannerisms.
He is somewhat stiff and militaristic, and always uses as few words as possible when speaking, and tends to not say anything unless first spoken to, unless the situation would require otherwise. And when he does speak, he is always straight to the point -- again in as few words as possible.
Despite his seemingly cold, brittle nature, Blade is actually quite awkward in most situations. He has far too little social experience to draw from, and this shines through quite obviously. in his mannerisms and overall way of conducting himself and speaking. He also has a habit of speaking plainly, and in almost a monotone, and tends to not use contractions in his speech, and perfectly enunciates every word he says, almost to the point of being stale to converse with -- not that he does an awful lot of talking to begin with.
Despite his cold, decidedly robotic personality, Blade does share a few core concepts with 'humanity'. The desire to grow and learn more, to experience more than he has, to better himself, etc. His way of going about them is somewhat different than a normal human, and his insistent clinging to logic often impedes with comprehending somethings -- such as sarcasm or other subtle human nuances. Yes, he takes everything at face value.
He also refers to himself in the third person, stating "This unit" or "This model" instead of more common things such as "Me" or "I". He is also insistent on using full names when conversing with others, as a form of respect. He will also often associate titles with others, as another form of respect -- or lack thereof, in some cases.

Brief History: ((Note; most of his history was written for another site, so if it doesn't make sense that's prolly why. c: ))
Blade was born of necessity and as a continuation of an already in-place military project. Created to serve as an assassin and cleaner for missions gone awry, he saw no service until well after he was originally designed. The first drafts for his creation and blueprints were drawn up before Relic had even combined the universes together.
Just as his first model was being created, the universes were combined and the Ultiverse was born. Most of the data on the original Subject B.L.A.D.E. was lost during this process, as were most of those working on the project.
Work on the project went without any progress at all for some time. The original workers of the project -- those that had survived, at any rate -- had been scattered.
Eventually, however, two of the workers managed to run across each other. And from there, they decided that their designs would be of use in this new, chaotic existence. So began the laborious process of tracking down anyone and everyone who had been involved with the project. Those who were willing to continue work were welcomed back. Those that weren't were executed to keep knowledge of their 'secret' project from leaking out.
It took several years for everyone to be tracked down, and when it was finally time to begin work on the new iteration of B.L.A.D.E., Relic had already been defeated.
The first working model of Project B.L.A.D.E. was a complete failure. It did not exhibit any of the traits they required of it, and so was completely scrapped. One of the team suggested going to Sector 8, to study the cyborgs there and see how their inner workings were made for possible inspiration.
The study proved valuable, as it produced information on the construction of mechanical beings, and advanced that aspect of their research several phases of trial and error.
The next incarnation of the project was more succesful, and had basic human functions -- it could learn more and make decisions independantly, but was still not up to the level they were seeking. It was scrapped after notes were made.
The final incarnation was completed several years later. Deemed a success after a full year of testing, it was finally given its first assignment.
A great number of months and succesful assignments later, and the greatest assignment yet to be put forth was given to it. And this assignment carried it far out into the depths of space, on a literal wild goose chase for its target. When the mission was finally accomplished, and Blade returned to Earth, it found only devastation.
During his time away on his mission, the Fallen Eight had come and wrought their destruction. Not knowing what had happened, Blade returned to his place of origin, and found there a single message scrawled on a chunk of crumbling wall. It was barely readable in its condition, but he managed to make out the words: "BLADE -- Mission Status Black. Initiate Prime Directive. Free Volition."
With that, he was released from his 'servitude' and given complete independence to do as he would. At that point still more logic-driven machine than emotion-driven being, he did the only thing that made sense. He took the labcoat from the charred, skeletal remains of one of his creators, and set out into the wide world to do what he had been programmed to do: exist.
During his travels, he came across a disturbance in reality, and, his curiosity getting the better of him, he leaped through without a second thought...
Reason for being on AM: Some random portal/tear in reality.
Sample RP: How about a flashback? OKAY!
"Target location reached. Further orders?"
"Infiltrate the installation. Locate the head of operations and silence him, preferably in such a manner that it seems accidental."
"......Acknowledged. This unit will now commence infiltration."
Quick as thought, Blade shot forward, bent low to the ground, rapidly dashing downhill. The downward slope aided his speed, pushing him beyond his peak on level ground, and when he hit the fence at the perimeter of the installation, he crashed through it at seventy-three miles an hour. Skiddng to a halt, he did a swift cartwheel to one side, disappearing into a pool of shadows.
"This unit has succesfully breached the outer perimeter."
"Excellent. Target is currently in the R&D facility. Head to the northeast of the base and locate the elevator to the lower level."
"Acknowledged."
With a quick lunge, he darted across the open ground, just barely skirting a searchlight as it lazily swept across the compound. As he rounded the corner of a building, he nearly ran face-first into a patrol. With but a split-second to think out a plan of action, he devised a simple strategy: at the exact moment of impact, he threw his head forward, smashing his metallic skull against the guard's forehead. The man was sent half-stumbling, hall-flying backward, into a wall, where he collapsed in an unconscious heap.
Blade barely slowed down, instead making a beeline for his objective, which he reached in short order.
"Target building reached. Commencing assassination."

Powers/Abilities:
- Android -- Being an artificial construct, Subject BLADE has several advantages from his construction which make him quite a dangerous opponent and an extremely efficient soldier and agent.
- Superhuman Strength -- Due to his cybernetic construction, Blade is extremely strong in terms of physical power. At 100% output, he can presslift approximately five tons under optimal conditions without the use of his Adaptation Engine.
- Enhanced Speed: To compliment his superhuman strength as well as mission objectives, Blade is quite fast as well, able to reach sixty miles an hour at a dead sprint without the use of his Adaptation Engine.
- Indestructibility -- Composed of an experimental, extremely durable alloy, Blade's body is virtually impervious to most conventional forms of damage. Firearms of all sorts serve only to irritate him, and even falls from tremendous heights and blows from other superhumanly strong opponents barely do any noticable damage. He can withstand temperature extremes ranging into several thousand degrees celsius, and several hundred degrees celsius below zero. He can withstand great depths of pressure up to, and possibly exceeding, that of the ocean floor, and can withstand even the vacuum of space unaided if necessary.
- Self-Sufficient -- Blade has no need for food, water, or air, and can last without such things indefinitely. As well, he has a virtually limitless supply of energy and stamina, and will never tire unless damage to his power core is sustained.
- Superhuman Reflexes -- Blade has reflexes as fast as thought. As soon as you do something, he'll be responding to it. It's that simple. This doesn't mean he'll be able to dodge anything thrown at him, only that he'll be able to react to it instantly and have a much better CHANCE of dodging it.
- Multivision -- For purposes of tracking down his targets in the most efficient manner possible, as well as spy and avoid or disable any traps he might encounter, Blade was equipped with several visual 'filters' to enable him to do just that. Among his available filters there are: standard vision, light amplification, nightvision, infrared, thermal, and x-ray. Among other visual options there include telescopic and microscopic vision, the former with a magnification of up to fifty times, and the latter reaching one thousand times magnification.
- Satellite Uplink -- Again to facilitate his mission role, Blade is equipped with a satellite uplink, able to tap into any available satellite system and use it for several purposes. The use of GPS is of course among them, as is transmission of data he may have acquired, as well as communication of other sorts, and even access to the internet or more trivial things.
- Superhuman Strength -- Due to his cybernetic construction, Blade is extremely strong in terms of physical power. At 100% output, he can presslift approximately five tons under optimal conditions without the use of his Adaptation Engine.
- Combat and Assassination Model -- Designed specifically for the purpose of combat and black-ops assassination missions, Blade is built with combat and stealth in mind for his every function.
- Stealth-Field Generator -- A direct counter to his own means of detecting stealth of all types, Blade is capable of projecting a field around himself which disguises his presence from all sensors except plain old visual sight. In essence, the only way to find Blade is to see him with your own two eyes.
- Active Camouflage -- When in need of an immediate disappearance, Blade can shift his body color to match that of his surroundings and blend in. When doing so, he must remain immobile, but he's literally impossible to tell apart from any other part of the area while so camouflaged, even if you should literally be right on top of him.
- Hacking Equipment -- Loaded into his electronic brain is a vast resevoir of hacking know-how and software, and as for hardware, he can wirelessly communicate with nearly all wireless devices within ten meters, and directly access machines via thin cables stored in his left arm and hack into them to gather information, reprogram the device in question, or any other sort of trick he may need to pull off.
- Stealth-Field Generator -- A direct counter to his own means of detecting stealth of all types, Blade is capable of projecting a field around himself which disguises his presence from all sensors except plain old visual sight. In essence, the only way to find Blade is to see him with your own two eyes.
Equipment:
- Adaptation Engine -- A curious and highly experimental bit of hardware that has an extremely useful feature. When presented with a suitably strong or power opponent which could potentially damage or destroy Blade, the engine will activate, and scan the opponent, and then update Blade's software and hardware with a supply of nanomachines, augmenting his abilities to better handle the threat. This could be an increase in his strength, speed, new functions or weapon systems, or nearly anything that could be used to overpower the foe at hand. The functions of the Engine will be retained after the threat has been taken care of, leading to a potentially limitless supply of tactics and skills available to him.
- Blade Drive -- Blade's primary weapon system. When not in use, the sawblade on his forehead will be still, and when active, it will spin rapidly liken to a saw in use. At any time, Blade can produce more sawblades from any part of his body -- usually his hands -- of nearly any size. He has been seen to make blades as small as conventional shuriken, and large blades as big as two meters across. The blades created thus are made from the same durable alloy as his body is, and are therefore extremely sharp and durable, though they are necessarily thin and not as resilient as Blade himself. The blades created thusly are perfectly suited to use in melee combat or as throwing weapons.
- Needle Drive -- A secondary weapon system, courtesy of the Adaptation Engine. Marked by the 'horns' on either side of his head, they wil glow when the system is in use. It provides Blade with the ability to generate spikes and needles from his body or any surface within fifteen feet of himself. This system primarily serves as a melee aid, and as a defensive system, providing little true offensive power, only amplification to his otherwise barehanded melee skills.
- Plasma Drive -- Another weapon system which he acquired thanks to the Adaptation Engine. Marked by the crystal in his chest, it will glow and spark when in use. With this weapon system, Blade is able to fire bursts of plasma from the crystal in his chest as well as his eyes at need, as well as lay 'bombs' or 'mines' of plasma as traps.
Weaknesses
Psychological Flaws:
- Logical; it must make sense! -- Despite his slowly evolving personality and sense of emotion, Blade is still primarily driven by logic, and as such, often makes odd decisions and choices which can have rather detrimental effects from time to time.
Physical Flaws:
- Damage -- While Blade is quite resistant to damage, there is a noticable flaw. In the event he IS damaged, he has no way of knowing short of seeing the damage for himself. He feels no pain, but that's not always a good thing. He can keep pushing himself with damage and wind up worsening the damage or making it irreparable in some cases.
- Water -- While water isn't dangerous in most cases, if his exterior frame should be damaged or breached, and water should get into his internal systems, it could cause all kinds of havoc, and would likely lead to complications in extremely short order, and in worst-case scenario, could cause him to shut down completely to head off a catastrpohic system failure (AKA, a massive explosion).
- Repairs, not easy to come by. -- Being as advanced as he is, in the event Blade is damaged and needs repairs, it won't be easy. He'd have to find someone knowledgable enough to get the job done, or else find someone capable enough and teach them what need be done. Neither option is likely, or pleasant to consider.
Other Flaws:
- Domo Ariagto, Mr. Roboto -- As you may have noticed, he's a robot. That has a bunch of advantages, as have been previously stated. HOWEVER, if you were to, oh, say.....ZAP HIM WITH AN EMP BURST, he'd be rendered completely immobile, if not outright shutdown or overloaded on the spot.
- HAAAAAAAAAAAX! -- While Blade has a basic firewall in place to ward off any unwanted attempts to access his system, he has no dedicated system in place to defend against hacking attempts. To this end, should someone attempt to hack his systems, he would have to manually assign system processess to defend against the intrusion, taking away from his overall performance in the process.
