Category: Canon: Teen Titans (Animated Show)
Name: Rachel Roth
Alias: Raven
Age: 16
Ranking: Hero
Physical Appearance:
Raven wears a black leotard and her entire figure is usually shrouded in a blue violet cloak. She has soft facial features, violet-black hair, violet-blue eyes, and light gray skin. Across her waist, she wears a gold belt with red/black jewels fixated in it. Pinning her cloak to her shoulders is a similar jewel that houses her T-communicator. She wears cuffs at her wrists the same color as her cloak and matching blue ruffled ankle boots. Her hair is cut in a short, bob-like fashion; the one time it is grown out involuntarily, she cuts it short once again.
Personality: Raven is a very dark and morbid girl. She has a fascination with the mystic arts and often practices them using her many magical tomes. She is quiet and a total introvert. She rarely opens up to others; only being more open toward her teammates, who she considers her family. Raven is incredibly protective of her friends as well, possibly due to a fear of being completely alone.
Though she is mentally stable, her personality is split into what are often called her “Emoticlones.” Each one is a different version of Raven’s self and represents a different aspect of her personality, usually to greater extremes than are common.
Powers/Abilities:
Equipment: Raven can often be seen reading a mystic tome, but, other than that, carries no weapon.
Psychological Flaws: Raven’s biggest psychological flaw is her Emoticlones. If she ever loses control of one (more often than not, Red Raven, Anger/Rage) then they tend to rampage through her mind until forced to stop by Raven herself. Raven also has a fear of truly being alone; this is why she is so protective of her friends. She could very well become mentally unstable if she were to lose one of her teammates.
Physical Flaws: Raven has a slight build but seems to be an adequately skilled fighter, though she tends not to use physical arts while fighting an opponent.
Other Flaws: Raven often uses a phrase to both help her meditate and help her in combat. “Azarath Metrion Zynthos,” is a way for her to find inner peace within herself and to also amplify her powers with focus. If she is interrupted while uttering this phrase, she tends to be rendered powerless.
Brief History:
Raven came to Earth and encountered young crime-fighters with powers, eventually teaming up with them and joining the Teen Titans. During this time, she befriended all of the members, thinking of them as family. They stopped super villains (some among them being Brother Blood, Dr. Light, and Slade), and met new heroes to join their ranks. However, the peace of everyday life was eventually shattered. Slade, thought to be dead, returned to force Raven into becoming the portal for her father, Trigon. Raven, after many hardships in a short amount of time, succumbed. Trigon was released to Earth and Raven was destroyed. In an attempt to stop the interdimensional demon, Robin teamed with Slade to find a trace of Raven while the other members of the Teen Titans distracted Trigon. Robin found a child Raven and brought her back with him. It first seemed as if the younger Raven would be unable to reverse the disaster, seeming to be utterly powerless. The Teen Titans decide to combat Trigon, anyway, but are ultimately defeated. However, their efforts bolster Raven to break free of her father and find her inner strength. While taking on a pure-white version of her Soul-Self, she was able to conquer the demon.
Reason for being on AM: “Ask Starfire…”
Sample RP:
“Azarath Metrion Zynthos. Azarath Metrion Zynthos. Azara—“ CRASH! Raven peeped one eye open. She was levitating over the coffee table in the living area of Titans Tower, sitting crossed-legged and meditating. At least… she was trying to meditate. She looked around the room with her one open eye before closing it and continuing with her meditation.
“Azarath Metrion Zynthos. Azarath Metri—“ CRASH! One of her eyebrows twitched violently as something else crashed within the Tower, this one seemed louder, closer. With a sigh from under her breath, she rose from her position and landed on the floor. At this rate she was never going to successfully mediate her thoughts. She turned as the hall door burst open and what appeared to her as a whirlwind swept into the room, creating an agonizingly loud ruckus as it went…
