Physical Appearance: As Jim he is average height for a man his age and has brown hair and blue eyes. He is white but not pale white of course and his hair is short. As Sam, he is more or less the same height but has blond hair and blue eyes. As Jim he would wear white shirts and blue jeans but now he also wears black shirts at times. Jim is taller then his wife Melinda and wears his white lab coat when at work as a doctor.
Personality: Jim is a sweet person who cares about all those around him and will do all he can to help people. He is a loving giving person as well and is very loyal to his family and those he sees as his friends. Jim can also be very head strong when he wishes it and won't stop fighting for what he thinks is right no matter what the cost is. He loves his family very much and is a good father as he cared for his son whenever he can. Jim always liked to save lives and hates to see others getting hurt. His head strong actions can get him in to trouble at times though and he also gets annoyed when Melinda is in danger because of a ghost and there is nothing he can do for her.
Jim helps Melinda out in any way he can and is also a very romantic man at heart. He will do anything to see Melinda and his son smile and being safe as well. He believes in true love and speaking from the heart when it comes to things he wishes to say. He can be very straight forward at times as well and again that will get him in to trouble at times. He is also a very tricky man and likes to use it whenever he can in life. He worries about his wife and son at times and so he can be a bit over protective sometimes of them though he will never push Melinda in to doing something she doesn't want. He is also very good at giving advice to others and has a way with people as they seem to listen to him when he's trying to talk. Brief History:
Jim and Melinda first met when he saved her from a burning building as he was a fireman back then. His friends had pushed him in to talk to Melinda as he was too shy to do so. When they started to date Melinda told him what she could do and he never questioned it as he trusted her fully. When they got married they moved together to Grandview where Melinda opened up an antique store and worked there with her best friend Andrea.
Jim at this time worked as a paramedic as he had tried to go to med school and decided to become that instead. Jim and Melinda were always happy together and no matter what came their way he was always there for her when needed. Over the years he has worried about Melinda getting hurt many times but never stopped her from helping others as he knew she loved to do so. He did however think about moving out of town after Melinda was almost killed but they decided against it in the end.
Jim and Melinda almost had a baby together the first time but she lost it which was hard on them both but again he was always there for her. Jim always wanted to be a doctor but never was able to in his own lifetime and at times that was hard for him though he never showed it on his face. One day Jim was shot in the shoulder and rushed to the hospital.
Jim died on that day as he stayed with Melinda as a ghost for a long while going in between this wold and the next as he talked to his dead brother who wanted to take Jim in to the light with him. After a long while Jim says he can't leave Melinda like that and so he refuses to move on. He is then seen by Melinda on his funeral where as he asked everyone was dancing and having a good time. As Melinda was driving back with Jim by her side they were stopped by an accident in front of them and Jim uses this to go in to the body of the man that had been though the accident even though Melinda had asked him not to.
After this the man who Jim was in woke up with no memory of Melinda and thought his name was Sam Lucas. Melinda then spent her time trying to find something of Jim with in Sam but when things seemed lost Sam/Jim had gone to save her from drowning and he hit his head. This allowed the memories to come back to him as he found Melinda and told her his name was Jim. Melinda then hugged him and was happy to have him back. Jim then found out Melinda was pregnant again as they both found out it was from before he died which made them both happy. They then decided to call their son Aiden after his father and Lucas after the man who's body Jim was in.
People around them see Jim as Sam Lucas and he has gotten used to answering people by that name. He finished med school as Sam had been half way trough any ways and so Jim is now a doctor and he loves every moment of it.

Reason for being on AM: hey were trying to have a vacation originally but it turned ups side down on them. Now he's here with his wife and son and is trying to help those he can as he is a doctor.

Jim walked in to the hotel as he smiled knowing he was with the one he loved and now they were on vacation. He walked over to the desk as he got the key and waited for Melinda to follow him in. He smiled as he was happy that she agreed to do this and hoped that no ghosts would change the fact that she was meant to have fun there. He shook that idea out of his mind as he then looked at the key and around the place. Jim was glad that he could do this with her and that Aiden was being watched by Delia for now "You ok back there Mel? Don't worry we will have the time of our lives,I promise you" he waited for her answer as he smiled again.
He waited for her to come as he smiled to himself once more thinking about all the things they had done together and how he had cheated death it's self to be with her again. Jim knew that he looked like someone else to most people, but he was used to that by now and in this place no one knew him so he was free to use his own name. He then went to help her with the bags "you OK Mel? Here I'll help you" he took some of them and went in waiting for her to follow him in.
"We have a room already Mel,come on my sweet!" after he said this he smiled once more and thought about Aiden and how happy he was to have them both in his life. Things were crazy lately with all the ghosts,but she always handled it and he was right there by her side when needed. Jim then nodded to the guy at the desk as he waited for his wife to bring the rest of the bags in so they could go up to their hotel room.
