WELL! I guess I'll get to smack the metaphorical wine bottle on this board for a change! Ok so here we go!
Over time, he had made quite a bit of lovely improvements and a far better apprentice than Robin or Terra. Sure, sure...those two still had their potential, but this new one named Eliza certainly was a gem to behold. Ah yes...such potential in that girl and he could even use her and all the little chess pieces she called her children upon the board to his bidding. The girl was like any other apprentice he had longer than a bundle of days, part of his family while being a pawn all at the same time. Who dared to say you couldn't use a precious family member for your own personal gain? Not he, the one who had been known to the world as `Slade`, a man who literally went to hell only to come back. Certainly he appeared to be the same on the outside...such an assumption wouldn't be too far from the truth because he changed all while staying quite similar.
A city to save in his own fashion and all at the same time, a new family to raise up properly. Such as the new apprentice of his, dear Eliza who he, in his own way, had been using to not only monitor but underhandedly lure a few individuals of interest by letting her act on her own. That's right, even the smallest little things were planned in this large plot clock of his...everyone was nothing more than doing their part as the cogs and pieces to make everything move along. "Status report..." Saying those words somewhat professionally with a hint of darkness to it, one of those cybernetic ninjas he took such pride in slipped out of the shadows and just looked at its master for a short moment. Its face slid upward and began to play a recording of a feminine voice he quickly recognized as the Tamaranean alien, Starfire, trying to talk a vendor into selling her the mustard as a drink. Such...stupidly...crazy antics didn't seem to phase him much at all.
"Ah...it seems the Teen Titans are really coming back after all. I did wonder what happened to them...I was almost tempted to send them a little calling card. Placing his hands behind his back as his velvety, almost devilish tone coated voice slithered through the slits of his mask. "Good work...now continue monitoring her and report back to me when she comes into contact with any of the other Titans. I have...other...things to tend to..." That singular, deep blue optic glanced toward the area where his apprentice usually rested in when things were too tough. Receiving a bow from the ninja who didn't know anything else but taking commands and following them through no matter what, even if its destruction was VERY likely, took off in a black blur to continue its mission.
Perhaps he should check in on Charlie and her little creation, Jericho...it was impressive but still needed a lot of refining like a rock encrusted diamond. So much potential but needed to have all the proper treatment to let it shine. He assigned her with various tasks to keep her busy as with Gizmo...bratty little genius. Standing around wasn't going to accomplish that much...so it was time to make sure Eliza was alright and...of course...to check on their distant visitors who bit the bait.
