Nicknames: Elle
Main Account: Spike
Who else do you play?: Spike, The First Evil
How did you find us?: Meeks.
Category: Original Character - Buffy influenced.
Name: Invidia
Alias: Vidia, her human name was Sasha McAdams.
Age: 71; eternally appears 21.
Ranking: I'd go with neutral for now. Evillish but not really a villain.
Physical Appearance: Invidia's appearance most of the time is flawlessly human. You wouldnt suspect for an instinct the demon underneath just by looking at her. She is 5'5 with a slender, athletic build, kind of looks like a college student on a woman's soccer team. She has fair skin with a light sprinkling of freckles bridging her nose. Her hair is long, it falls down to about the middle of her black and is dark brown in color. It is light and wavy, often curled to emphasize this. Her eyes are blue-green, her nose is small and finely pointed, her smile is warm and inviting. When she wants it to be. She has a very inviting appearance in general, lovely like a predator trying to attract its prey.
Invidia's demon form is still humanoid in shape. But other than that none would mistake her for a human in this form. She has rough mottled skin and eyes darker than the depths of an abyss. Her teeth and claws become pointed and jagged, almost like a vampire.
Her voice takes on a tone slightly deeper than normal.
Personality: Invidia is a demon who has had years of training and experience to block herself off from weak human emotions. As such she usually comes off as cold and reserved. Mostly the extent of her moods are either biting irritation, calculating interest, dismissive nonchalance or cold fury. The irritation part is nearly constantly present. Invidia does not have much patience for anybody. When someone interests (usually only because they have a need for vengeance) she doesn't really show it but sticks close and watches carefully. To those who do not interest her, she dismisses them easily. Invidia does not really care about who holds the power in this world or what kind of creatures inhabit it, she only cares about the job she has to do.
When you do make her angry, beware. Her kind are not called vengeance demons for nothing. Invidia never forgets a grudge and will pursue revenge by the most ruthless means possible.
She is very determined to succeed at doing her duty, she takes it very seriously. Invidia will often become very invested in a vengeance case. But at the same time she is young and she lacks a certain professionalism. She is stubborn and hard-headed, often not listening to those wiser than her. She seems to think that she's on top of the world right now, but Invidia can often be very vain or naive.
When she appears to someone in need of vengeance, she needs to trick them into trusting her. So she takes on a human charade and a much more polite personality than her real one. When she wants to Invidia can come off as a friendly young girl with a big heart. All an act, of course.
Sometimes she does lose control and allow some emotions to get to her though. This does not happen often, but for instance she is very inquisitive and when she wants to know something she will not let it drop. Occasionally other emotions will actually surface. There's a spark of humanity still left in Invidia, but it is buried deep down.
Powers/Abilities:
Wish Granting: Can grant wishes, but not under any circumstances. They have to be dark wishes, wishes with the intent to harm or wishes made out of spite, hatred, anger, or vengeance. She also has the power to undo these wishes (if they don't cause death, death cannot be magically undone).
Reality Altering: If a wish requires it, she can actually alter reality. Create parallel worlds even.
Teleportation: Can teleport like any vengeance demon. However she is young and has yet to work out the fine points, and she cannot yet teleport anyone along with her.
Telekinesis: So far her use of this is limited and she becomes tired if she does it too much. She is practicing, though.
Enhanced strength & durability: Demonic strength comparable to many vampires and meta-humans, and as for durability.. Well, try killing a vengeance demon through physical injury. It's difficult.
Combat Training: Went through it as part of her demonic training, she is skilled in basic hand to hand combat.
-Levitation and summoning hell fire are two abilities she does not yet have; she is not old enough or experienced enough.
Equipment:

Psychological Flaws:
Her Youth: Compared to many demons Invidia is extremely young. She became a demon at 21, then underwent ten years of training. So really she's only been out in the demonic came for about 40 years. She has not yet perfected her job, she can oftentimes be naive, rebellious, reckless, or just plain stupid.
Crime: One of the things that really provokes Invidia is an act of crime. It is what she specializes in, taking vengeance on behalf of those who have suffered from robbery, rape, assault, etc. She refuses to tolerate criminals and often gets far too caught up in her work when taking revenge upon them. It is difficult to get Invidia to think rationally when it comes to crime.
Curiosity: Curiosity killed the cat, they say. Invidia has yet to learn. She will often become so persistent in investigating something she wants to know that she'll get in way over her head.
Trust Issues: Invidia has a lot of difficulty trusting or accepting anyone as her ally. Her pride also probably has something to do with this. She is more often than not left alone and without someone to turn to for help when she needs it.
Overconfidence: Seems to think herself invincible. Invidia isn't afraid of much even when she should be. She has a nasty habit of underestimating her foes.
Physical Flaws:
Amulet: Invidia is young vengeance demon who has yet to earn D'Hoffryn's complete confidence. As such her power center is located in a sapphire amulet she wears. If it were destroyed, she would lose her demonic powers. However, it can only be destroyed when she is not physically wearing it...so you'll have to steal it from her first. Good luck.
Vulnerable in some aspects: She is not completely invincible. Most physical wounds will have very little long term effect (except for something like a beheading), but she can be affected by magic.
Vengeance 'Rules': There are some rules of being a vengeance demon that are physically binding. If someone summons her with the correct spell, she must drop whatever she is doing and appear to them. Also she cannot make wishes or do vengeance spells on her own behalf.
Other Flaws:
D'Hoffryn: Invidia is under his power. As long as she follows him he ultimately has the ability to give and take her powers and even kill her with a snap of his fingers.
Brief History: Invidia was born Sasha McAdams in Boston, Massachusetts. A regular human girl with a mother, a father, and a younger sister. As a child, Sasha was a fairly sweet girl. She listened to her parents and played well with other children. There was only one flaw that concerned her parents: she was vindictive in a nasty sort of way. There were a few incidents she had as a young child. In kindergarten another little girl stole her crayons, so Sasha took a pair of scissors and cut off her pigtails. In second grade when a teacher scolded her in front of the whole class, she went into the teacher's desk, found pictures of her loved ones, and stuck thumb tacks through all their faces. The school counselor saw this as mostly as a behavioral child's problem related to defiance. Sasha seemed to calm down after a few sessions with him. Her parents relaxed.
After that she basically led A normal life. And one she continued to have until she reached early adult hood. When it became time for her to attend college, Sasha and her mother had an argument. Sasha wanted to attend college across the country but her mother was firmly against the idea. A heated argument followed that resulted with Sasha storming out of the house and swearing to branch off on her own whether her mother liked it or not. Sasha spent most of that summer away from home, staying with a friend and even visiting the school she wanted to go to. Until she received one fateful phone call from the police.
Sasha's house had been robbed. The thief had been armed and had taken her whole family hostage. When her father tried to fight, the thief shot her mother. A neighbor heard the noise and called the cops, but as police cars closed in on the house the thief panicked and shot her sister and father as well before fleeing the scene. Sasha was nearly overcome by shock upon first hearing the news. In fact for days she was denying that it even really happened. But when it finally hit her, it hit her hard.
Something in Sasha had snapped. The police were taking action to find the shooter but as far as she was concerned, they were not doing their jobs quickly enough. And besides. Prison was too good for that monster. Sasha wanted vengeance, and she refused to wait for it. She enlisted the aid of a private detective to help her find the criminal. It took two weeks for them to discover that he had fled across the country to Nevada and assumed a new identity. The detective warned Sasha to hand the information on the criminal's whereabouts over to the police. But by then Sasha was too hysterical. She wanted to avenge her family with her own hands. She spent the remainder of her money on a plane ticket to Nevada, and slipped off without word to anyone.
Two nights later, the criminal was coming home from his new "job". The new life he had assumed in a new place. When he entered his apartment, Sasha was waiting for him. As soon as he walked in, she knocked him over the head with a cooking pan. Though it wasn't hard enough to kill him. Blinded by pain and rage, Sasha dragged his unconscious body into the kitchen and handcuffed him to the sink before taking a match and setting the whole place on fire.
Her act of vengeance cost more lives than just the shooter's. It was an apartment building after all. But even as the fire was finally contained a number of witnesses placed her on the scene. Sasha was arrested that very same night. At her trial, her lawyer tried to plead insanity. However the jury ultimately ruled against this and sent her to prison. It was enough to push Sasha over the edge is she had not been before. She had been thrown in with the criminals, the very kind that had killed her family. It was too much for her to take. But she never lived out her sentence. That night in her cell she was visited by a demon called D'Hoffryn. D'Hoffryn explained that he was the leader of a class of demons called vengeance demons, and he recruited those who showed finesse, creativity, and complete lack of remorse when it came to vengeance. He offered to make her one of these demons, impressed with her "work". Sasha had nothing left to live for in her human life. All she really wanted was to continue to cause pain for those who deserved it. She accepted.
Once she was turned into a demon she was given the name Invidia. Invidia was taken into D'Hoffryn's hell dimension to begin her training. Here vengeance demons learned tactics of manipulation and creativity when it came to twisting wishes around. She also underwent extensive combat training as well as the most essential part of demonic training: being taught to forget all human emotions, to abandon morality, compassion, and remorse.
She has been working her way up in the demonic world ever since.
Reason for being on AM: Something has happened to the ties between the mortal world and her hell dimension. Inexplicably Invidia finds herself unable to teleport back home to report to D'Hoffryn. She is currently investigating the source of this problem, as well as looking for any other demons who may be stuck in the same situation.
