Nate sighed as he looked at his new accomodations provided to him by "work." It was a small workshop with boxes and boxes of materials waiting to be unpacked. He sighed to himself he really wasn't in the mood to move in, he knew work was covering his expenses to be here. However their are times you really hate being a business associate when your business is helping to keep the world stable.
He took out a small pda and began tapping a few buttons on the thing. There was a strange ringing and wiring sound as if from 2 small motors starting up. Two squat boxes started to shift about and suddenly the lids burst open as if to say "Ta-da." There was a robot sticking out of both.
"Wrirreawer...." (YAY NO BOX) it said at least as much as a robot can talk to someone who isn't a robot. Although the body language articulated by the robot expressed this very clearly.
"rerweerew....." (WATCH IT STUPID.) there was the sound of clanging metal as one robot hit the other with its arm making annoyed gestures at the bigger one.
"Will you two knock it of." Nate said exasperatedly to the two robots. It wasn't exactly a fight the shorter robot was bludgeoning the bigger robot who was doing nothing to fight back against the shorter one acting as if it was being yelled at and the shorter one was taking every opportunity to put the boot in as it were.
The shorter one drooped its head and began looking sheepish as it shifted around its foot. "Now will you get this place set up? I'm going to take a look around, no doing anything strange...." Nate paused and thought about this for a good 10 seconds before ammending his statement. "Stranger than normal."
Nate turned and walked out of the apartment the door closing with a snap behind him. How were you supposed to tell a somehow sentient robot to not be strange. It was already strange he thought in the privacy of his own head. he hadn't programmed a personality into the things. Maybe it had something to do with the markings he had done to them. Nothing in the book said anything about a personality. Ohh well hopefully those two would behave themselves and do as he ordered.
He looked about and thought to himself very closely about what he wanted to eat. Pizza sounded good he thought to himself he had been living off of cheap chinese, donughts, ramen and hamburgers for most the trip here. So a famous new york pizza sounded appatizing to him.
While all this was going through nates head, the two robots looked at each other and began doing the setting up of various benches and tools for roughly 30 seconds before something happened.
One of the robots the smallest one stopped working and began folding its arms. It made more strange buzzing sounds at the bigger one. "WIRERENWEREW....." (Hey what the heck do you think your doing....YOU LET HIM GO.?) it seemed to say.
The bigger robot turned and began making noises at the shorter one. "WEREWMENRWER..." (Whats the big deal he can take care of himself....) it seemed to say as it began to work normally failing to notice the signs the other was giving it.
"REWERWERW....( How dare you...)" the shorter of the robots seemed to shout. It grabbed a heavy metalic bench leg and began whacking the bigger robot hard with resounding clanging noises still making a shreiking sound as best it could with each impact.
"WERWlelrewhrew...." (owch hey...ow......what the hell did i do...) It seemed to say bringing it's arms up to protect itself against the onslaught of heavy steel.
"WERWEREWRW..." (Go after him...He still needs us.) it seemed to be screaming at the other one.
"WERHWERw...." (OK ok i'm...owch....i'm going.) it screeched back at the shorter biligerant robot. It dashed out the door and away from the heavy metal stick.
"ewrwem.." (good) the remaining robot seemed to say to itself going back to work as if nothing had happened to the other robot.
The fatter of the two robots activated it's tracker and began to follow the gps marker that seemed to be heading towards a near by pizza joint.

It was beginning to get a little chillier in New York City these days - in fact, today's weather was reminiscent of some of the early winter days Anya had experienced last year. ...Last year. The thought was enough to make her pause; she'd been alive again - and living here and New York - for an entire year. It still seemed like only days ago that she'd been walking the streets of Sunnydale with Xander, and Buffy, and Willow...
But that was then. This was now. Now, Anya could almost flawlessly pass for just another New York native (until she opened her mouth and started chattering on in her very distinctive way, that was) . Today, for instance, she was dressed very casually in jeans and a grey peacoat, a light scarf wrapped around her neck. Her cheeks were flushed ever so slightly from the crisp, chilled breeze, and her long blonde hair - worn wavy today - was beginning to look rather windswept. But that was all part of looking...well, human. And Anya liked it. She liked life in New York in general, actually. It'd taken some getting used to, but these days it was beginning to feel almost like a second home. A very loud, very crowded, very crazy second home.
Keeping her hands warm in her jacket pockets, the vengeance demon allowed her light brown gaze to wander casually along the city streets. She hoped it would snow soon - there was nothing, in Anya's opinion, that made this city look prettier than snow and lights! But her thoughts on the matter were very abruptly cut off when a flash of movement out of the corner of her eye caught her attention. A very....unusual flash of movement at that, because Anya was instantly aware that whatever it was wasn't human. Refocusing her attention across the street, it took her a moment of staring blankly to register what was going on: there were two little....robots busily making their way down the sidewalk. ...Well. There was something you didn't see everyday. A completely bemused look came over the blonde's face as she tipped her head inquisitively to the side and watched them.
The people passing robots seemed to be displaying...various different sorts of reactions. Some were laughing or watching with interest, some seemed a little more wary - some were just too busy to pay attention to what was going on at all (that was New Yorkers for you). Glancing quickly across the street, Anya hurried across the street and began trailing after them uncertainly. Something told her that these two weren't just someone's escaped toys. Not only did they look a lot more advanced than that, but they also looked fairly purposeful as they made their way down the street. Like they had some sort of set destination in mind. Anya's infamously impulsive sense of curiosity was not going to allow her to leave this one alone.
"Um...excuse me!" ...Unfortunately, however, the demon was pretty much at a loss when it came to technology. How did one even address a robot? She quickened her pace in an attempt to keep up with them, blissfully unaware of exactly how crazy she looked at that moment. "Crap, I don't speak robot. ...Hey! Guys? Where are you going?!" Anya called again in an attempt to get their attention.

Gear was wandering down it caught something on its sensors and its audio receptors. the light on its head seamed to glow a moment and the robot turned slowly. It assessed what it was asked and raised a hand then oddly preformed a vauge wave with the arm side to side. "REERER....." (hello) it seemed to be saying through body language. "Rereremmm...berep....." (I'm looking for my maker.) it tried to reply not being able to make coherent speak itself.
Nate mean while walked into the pizza shop and went up and placed his order blissfully unaware that gear had been given orders to follow him by Widget.
Upon closer inspection strange symbols might be slightly visible on the robots body. If the demon could see them she would notice that they had a strange energy of their own and to add to things they were magical in nature. Gear tilted its body side to side as if trying to examine the new woman with what someone might call fascination, at least as close to fascination you can be having a glowing light for a face at least until its maker gave it a proper head piece.
The robot seemed to do a spin for a moment and began to walk on its own again heading in the direction of the pizza shop just down the sidewalk. It ignored all the funny looks and stares and began to make a humming noise as it began to walk again.

Anya came screeching to a halt when the robot actually did seem to take notice of her, pausing and turning to face her as she called out. She lingered several feet away from it, gazing down at it with careful curiosity. It was...waving at her? Hmm...seemed friendly enough, but one could never be sure...Hesitantly, she offered it a small, inquisitive smile, arching an eyebrow as it chirped something out at her. Right. There were only about...a thousand different things that might have meant. Anything from 'I'm just out for a walk' to 'I'm on my way to go terrorize innocent civilians'. Granted, the robot didn't really look like it had any intention of terrorizing anyone, but...
Oh! And it was on the move again! Anya blinked, watching its continued progress down the street for a moment. Should she follow? There was no telling what it might be up to, and even if it really didn't mean any harm there was always the chance that one of these crazy New Yorkers was going to try and...steal it, or something. She wrinkled her nose slightly at the thought. Anya really hated stealing. Especially when people were stealing money! But...stealing a robot was almost as bad, she supposed. And anyway, she at least wanted to see how all of this was going to play out before she settled for leaving it alone.
With a small sigh she hurried after it again. As she continued to observe the robot, Anya was becoming more and more convinced that it was looking for something - but what? At any rate, she was never going to find out if people kept getting in its way. Like the little boy who had turned eagerly from his mother's side, looking a little too interested in the robot that had just zipped by. "Watch out!" Anya called to him before he could reach out toward it. "It....uh....bites. Watch your fingers." Well, that had been a complete lie, but...it had effectively dissuaded the child from getting involved. With a shrug, she continued on after the robot.
Presently it seemed to be headed towards...Anya looked up. A pizza shop? ...What? Blinking, she glanced down at it again. "You...want...pizza?" she asked it, more than a little confused by this point. Did robots even eat?

Gear paused and seemed to tilt itself left then right outside of the pizza shop window. It made several strange "REwerwerrr..." (the heck is this place.) noises as "he" seemed to lean side to side. The strange light seemed to make several distinct flashes of maybe confusion maybe just plain bewilderment who knows.
It made growling sound then raised its hand up and pulled the door open. It ignored the sudden screams and shouts of surprise as it walked calmly to a young man about 18 years old. He was average height had square glasses, and short neat hair. Everything about his appearance screamed nerd or geek. However he wasn't thin or muscular just sort of average. He would have been quite ordinary if it weren't for the fact his clothing was ripped torn, burned, and heavily stained.
He seemed to be having an argument with the robot from the outside. Many of the customers were staring as the young man seemed to be yelling at gear in what could only be described as exasperated body language.
The robot for its part seemed completely non-plused at the whole matter as if a robot walking into a cheap pizza resturaunt surrounded by several angry looking people. It seemed to treat the whole thing as if it was a perfectly normal thing to do. The young man took out a wrench and whacked the robot on its back since he couldn't hit it on the head till it had been fully assembled again.

Crap. Crap, she really needed invest her time in learning...robot-ese. Maybe she could take a course, or something. Because Anya, who could at least get by in nearly every human language (and several demonic ones), was completely unaccustomed to being unable to communicate with a sentient being. At least...she assumed this robot was sentient. It certainly seemed to be capable of making its own decisions. ...Like now, for instance. Now it was wandering right on into the pizza shop as if this were the most casual thing in the world.
...Wait, what?!
The vengeance demon could only stare, blinking rapidly to assure what she was seeing was real, as the robot veered through the little shop toward an unsuspecting man sitting at a table. Oh, this was bad. There was no telling what a human's reaction would be to something like this! What if he did something impulsive? What if...oh. Wait a moment. He wasn't falling out of his chair, or screaming in disbelief, or...fainting on the spot. In fact, he didn't look very shocked at all. Cross, sure. Exasperated, definitely. And...ow, that wrench looked like it hurt. Or, well, would have hurt if the robot had nerve endings, of course.
Deciding that now was as good a time as any to step in, Anya hurried into the restaurant, practically skidding past the various astounded customers as she zipped right over to the table where all the commotion was taking place and stared intently from the robot to the man. He...well, he didn't look like much more than a perfectly normal human. But perfectly normal humans didn't have little robots following them around New York City. ...Yet. Who knew how long it would be before something like that became commonplace with how crazy humanity was getting with their technological advances, but...that was really beside the point here.
"Is that your robot-thing?" Anya asked the man eventually, pointing to the robot in question and, as per usual, displaying no hesitation whatsoever before conversationally addressing a complete stranger. "He was having a blast gallivanting around the city a few moments ago. Stopping traffic, making people question their sanity, the whole shebang." she reported cheerfully.

Nate sighed and stared at gear looking even more annoyed/exasperated as he hit the robot again with the wrench. "You stupid idiot." He said whacking the bare robot as he sighed to himself.
"wrrrerer......(sorry maker)" gear replied embarrassed, as he seemed to suddenly look sheepish. Gear somehow even managed to move its leg up and down.
"I can't trust the two of you i swear." Nate replied before looking up at anya. Nate sighed to himself as he read the menu looking at it trying to figure out what he wanted to eat on his pizza.
"would you like to join me miss?" Nate asked with a nervous smile before whacking the robot again. "Behave you and shut down." he added glaring down at gear who gave a soft whooooo sound before folding up into a small box for now.

He was asking if she'd like to sit down with him, perhaps merely out of politeness - but Anya didn't even stop to think whether it was a good idea to start socializing with a complete stranger or not. To her, people were people. There were all different kinds of people, sure - but if you looked hard enough, you could find something interesting about anyone. And there was most definitely something interesting about a man who had robots following him down the street. Giving him one of her bright, dimpled grins - almost childlike and just a little silly and...well, typically Anya - she chirped, "Yes, I would! Joining you would give me the opportunity to ask the myriad of things I'm currently wondering about you." And with that unapologetically blunt comment, she took the seat across from the man and fixed him with a wide-eyed, inquisitive gaze.
He'd struck the robot again just after making his offer, still seeming somewhat irritated with the thing. Anya stared for a moment as the robot obediently proceeded to shut itself down, and taking a bit of pity on it, she returned her gaze to the man. "Don't be too angry with him...it...whatever. It wasn't causing any trouble; just trying to find you, I think. It must like you." The demon gave an earnest nod to accentuate her words, pondering what exactly the connection was between the man and the robot. Had he created it? Most likely, she decided, but...how exactly had he done that? And why? What was the robot for?
So many questions - and she'd most likely end up asking all of them, unless her ceaseless chattering sent this poor man running for home first. But before she could start on all of that, Anya decided, there was something she needed to do first. Something that she'd learned was essential to human interaction - an introduction. That, and it only seemed polite - he'd just offered her his company, after all. "Anyways, hello! My name's Anya." Warmly, the blonde extended a hand partway across the table for him to shake. Handshakes. There was a silly human concept for you. Who'd been the one to first come up with that, she wondered. Human culture really was so strange - but who was she to question it!
At any rate, there were certainly more important things than handshakes on Anya's mind at the moment. She awaited the man's reply with barely-suppressed curiosity...because really, it was about time to find out exactly just who he was.

"ohh don't worry about gear he tends to get into all kinds of trouble at the office." Nate said as he put gear's shut down form underneath his char in such a way he couldn't unfold himself from the box. He had experience with gear and his sudden activation when he had been at work and other places.
Nate pushed his glasses up and extended his hand to anya. "nice to meet you my name is Nate." he said politely. His hand was heavily calloused and almost leathery in feel. It was also deceptively strong for his appearance.
"He tends to get into trouble by doing stuff like running around after me. He and Widget seem to think i need twenty four seven protection at least ever since that incident in Washington." Nate added as he began to read through the menu.
Gears box shook angerily as it tried to unfold after shutting down. It made an angery warbling noise. "No gear you stay put, i'll have a word with the two of you when we get back to the appartment in private." he said giving the box a hard thump with his foot.
"I'm just happy that nobody got hurt trying to take him on his way here. I don't need another angry person yelling at me after gear spins them over his head and bounces them on the floor. Thank goodness that was at the office and he was gental." Nate added as he leaned back in his chair giving the room a relaxing smile.
The commotion was seeming to die down now that the customers were put at their ease that there wouldn't be sudden robot activity. Nate then turned his attention back to the menu. A nervous waiter came up to nate and seemed to look at him for a moment as if asking "that thing won't pop out again will it?" before saying kindly "Ca...Can i take your order sir and miss?"
"A Coke for me no ice in it." Nate said to the waiter, then turned his head to anya. "I'll pay no worries." nate added with a slight grin on his face.

Anya's thoughts were running a mile a minute as she took in everything this man - Nate, as he'd just introduced himself - was telling her. Gear. Widget. These robots had names too? She glanced down at the one Nate had called Gear, who was still obediently compacted into box form. This was at once both one of the strangest and most fascinating things she'd heard in awhile. He'd mentioned the robot wanting to protect him - was that their function? If it was, it was a smart move on Nate's part - at least some humans were wising up enough to realize that you couldn't just walk around New York without means of defending yourself these days. If...Nate was human, that was, because Anya realized she was jumping to conclusions when she assumed that he was. He...seemed human enough, though.
And then her thoughts were on Gear again. "You built him?" The question was out before she could stop it, gazing at Nate with blatant curiosity and just a hint of awe. It wasn't a difficult conclusion to draw; this robot followed Nate around, obeyed him, seemed to want to protect him - and he'd mentioned it being around his place of work. The vengeance demon was starting to realize she hadn't sat down with just any old human. Shaking herself out of her wonder-filled thoughts, Anya began to speak again. "That's...I mean, that's so..." Intriguing? Unexpected? Cool? She wasn't sure which word she would have selected had she been given the time. But as soon as the waiter approached their table, she very abruptly stopped speaking and turned her attention to him.
Nate placed his order first - and then informed Anya that the drinks were on him. Well, there was absolutely no quicker way to gain the slightly money-obsessed demon's immediate friendship than to offer to pay for her drink. She blinked, then flashed him a grin of thanks and told the waiter, "An iced tea for me, please." The waiter nodded, scribbled their orders down, and then hurried away - perhaps not quite comfortable enough to be in such close proximity with a robot for too long.
She hadn't been lying when she'd said she had a myriad of questions to ask him - far from it, in fact - but...she wasn't even sure where to begin! Fidgeting slightly (though no more than usual, given that she seemed to have an inability to sit completely still), Anya regarded the man across from her. How was it that she kept managing to run into the most interesting people, just by chance? One thing was for certain: this city certainly wasn't boring, no matter what else it was. "I'm not very good with technology." Anya commented casually after a moment, though her tone was laced with a sort of subdued excitement. "I've never even seen a robot like Gear before! What's he for? I mean - what can he do?" It seemed safe to follow Nate's lead and refer to the robot as a 'him' rather than an 'it' - she didn't know much about Gear yet, after all, but he seemed to have quite a personality of his own.

Nate gave a smile as he watched anya's face, it was amusing to say the least that someone found his robots unique and facinating. "yes actually i built both of them. Although they seem to have developed personalities which is something i had never foreseen. " Nate added doubting seriously if anya would know what he was talking about.
Nate smiled at anya when she said she had very little experience with technology he could tell that just by the fascination she had with his strange robots.
"Well right now they are stripped down for transportation and maintenance. Normally they are fit better than this for..." Nate said vaguely no sense scaring this strange and rather beautiful woman more than needed. " security and testing." he said in a vague sort of way trying to dodge a good portion of the question without directly lying to anya.
"As for what he can do right now...He can cause trouble, be a nuisance, and he can grab a full grown man flip him upside down in the air and bounce him on the ground by their head." Nate added with a slight grin.
He had witnessed gear and widget do such things when people tried to insult him for being a geek and not a proper agent because it looked like he knew nothing about what he was doing. Well being bounced on the ground by your head tends to change those kinds of opinions in a hurry.
"other wise he's quite harmless, widget's the one with the temper. She likes fighting and i swear is the more violent of the two. She likes picking on gear some of the time, then again she is the smarter of the two. I sometimes wonder what goes through their programming, but alas i have no idea what happened to change them." he added with a sigh as he leaned back in his chair.
The waiter came back with both drinks and set them on the table before their owners. "Exscuse me, but are you ready to order?"
"yes one large pizza extra cheese, pepperoni, sausage, and...would you like anything anya?" he added with a thoughtful glance to his new friend.

From Nate's tone, she gathered that he was almost...surprised that his robots had developed personalities of their own. When Anya thought about it a moment, she supposed it was a little unusual. Machines were usually just...machines. Things people built. And you couldn't build emotions; couldn't build traits. You could program simulated versions of these things into a machine, maybe, but...Nate had already said he hadn't done that. Anya shrugged, however. However it might have happened, Gear certainly did have a personality of his own. She'd seen it herself only moments ago. "That's not a bad thing, is it?" she asked, raising her eyebrows slightly at the thought. "I mean, sure they get into a little more trouble this way...but having mindless, emotionless robots for company would just be boring!" Her unfiltered opinion was stated matter-of-factly, and she accentuated it with a tiny shrug.
There was a slight pause, only the faintest hesitation, before Nate told her what the robots were meant for. Security? Testing? Anya quirked her head slightly to one side at this, looking vaguely puzzled. What did he need security measures for? Perhaps he...ran some sort of important business? She wasn't sure, but she didn't press further for the moment...something told her that he'd been trying to evade the question a bit. Which normally wouldn't have dissuaded the vengeance demon at all when she was determined to find something out - but she'd only just met Nate, after all. She had no right to expect him to tell her every single detail of what he and the robots were involved in, however much she might want him to.
At any rate, she was quickly distracted by his descriptions of what Gear and Widget were like. Anya couldn't help but laugh a little, sort of enchanted by the way Nate described them - they almost sounded like real people. And again, he expressed that he had no idea how these changes in the robots had occurred. Though Anya wouldn't even pretend to know much about this sort of thing, she truthfully wasn't too baffled by it. In fact, she even opened her mouth to offer her own thoughts on the matter...but paused upon seeing the waiter approach with their drinks, and decided to hold her tongue a moment.
Still considering what he'd just told her thoughtfully, Anya waited while Nate ordered...only to be pulled out of her thoughts abruptly when he addressed her again. "Hmm?" Her gaze flickered briefly to Nate, then to the waiter, who was now looking at her expectantly. Oh! Right. "I'll have...a small pepperoni pizza. Please." she remembered to add, flashing the waiter a smile. He blinked at her...but eventually nodded and took note of this.
"Maybe," Anya continued with what she'd been about to say, sipping at her iced tea thoughtfully after the waiter drifted away again. "It's being around people that's changed them. I don't know what it is about humans. But it's difficult being around them, seeing the things they do and the way they feel, not to change a little. Or a lot. Maybe your robots feel that way too." She paused then, hesitating a moment. Perhaps...that comment had been a little too insightful for the normal, human woman that she was supposed to be allowing people to assume she was. Blinking, Anya forced her expression into one that was carefully neutral, averting her gaze from his for a moment. "...Of course, you know more about them than I do." she added hurriedly.

Nate shrugged at the question of weather or not his robots becoming sentient was a bad or a good thing. "I don't care either way to be honest, i just found it odd it happened that's all. As long as they do their jobs i could care less." Nate answered with a shrug though there was a slight smile of amusement creeping around on his face.
"Very good sir and miss." the waiter replied heading back into the kitchen to get the pizza's ready for the two of them.
"I somehow doubt that theory, they have been around since i was about 15 years old its only recently i noticed this change in them." Nate said as he suddenly felt something start to vibrate on his belt. He sighed to himself and looked down at his phone. "I'll be right back i got to take this call."
Nate stood up and began walking away, as he did so he took the phone a single word flashed on the caller id flashed Icarus. "hello..." nate replied to the phone as he walked away from anya. "yeah i just got settled in.....No i haven't had time....I've only been here a few hours....I'll do it when i get time." He said sighing with exasperation.
"I still have to go to the office, and pick up those items inside.....Alright i'll be there tomorrow then." Nate said with a shrug he closed the phone with a snap and sat back down.
"Sorry work can be a bit of a pain." he said wondering if she had noticed anything strange about his conversation. 'and they have absolutely freaking terrible timing, as if i would have had any time to do anything after moving in.' He added in the privacy of his own head. "And yes i may know more about them than other people however, it seems like they are growing more complicated. its like an ice burg what i've been able to see so far is just the surface i get the feeling there is so much more to them than what i see."

Fifteen? He'd had the robots since he was fifteen years old? He'd...built them when he was that young? This information was puzzling to the vengeance demon, to say the least. The human teenagers she'd met weren't good for much of anything, let alone robot-building! "You must've been a pretty smart fifteen year old," Anya commented, blinking at him. "Not like some of the ones I've met." Dawn. But nope! She wasn't going to say names...out loud, at least. She gave a brief nod as Nate stood up to take a phone call. Her curiosity hadn't quite been quelled yet, but this would give her time to think things over a little - and judging from the look on his face, the call looked sort of important.
She sat, fidgeting slightly as she waited for him to return...and then glanced down at Gear, who was still in box form under the table. How...had a robot like this one developed a personality? Even Nate, who'd built Gear himself, didn't seem to have the faintest idea. "Well. I'm glad you've gone and gotten yourself a personality. However you did it." she told the little robot with a smile. Knowing as little as she did robots, and having witnessed how Gear had acted before, she found it sort of difficult not to humanize him. Here she was, talking to him as if he were a person. This day...really couldn't get that much crazier from here on. Though maybe she shouldn't have been thinking that - it'd be just like her to go and jinx herself.
Nate, meanwhile, seemed to be finishing up the phone conversation he was having. Now that she paid attention, Anya could pick up the end of what he was saying...though this didn't really tell her much. Only that he hadn't done something he was supposed to do because he'd only been here a short time. She considered this curiously. A newcomer to New York? No wonder she hadn't noticed him or his robots around the city before now! Well. Maybe he'd need a friend, then. Anya could remember when she herself first arrived in this city - what she'd needed then, more than anything, was someone to talk to. Thankfully it hadn't been long before she'd made herself a friend or two...so the least she could do was offer Nate that same opportunity.
With this in mind, Anya smiled at him as he returned to their table. She shrugged off his apology. "Work is work. It's worth it, because you get lots of money. ..Well. Sometimes you get lots of it, anyway." Cheerfully, she straightened up a little in her chair and added in response to his next statement, "It's not like you don't have any hope of learning more about them, though. Especially if they keep following you around." If anyone would have the opportunity to learn more about them, she imagined, it was Nate.

Nate shrugged he hadn't really had to many friends in college when he was 15. He smiled a bit when she commented on his smarts and he grinned a little bit, he wasn't one to boast so he didn't mention that he had gone to MIT for a few years before dropping out. He could have finished however about a year ago he had been attacked by a monster, thankfully gear and widget managed to subdue the thing and shortly there after is when they started to possess personality.
Nate shoved the phone back into his pocket as eh took another drink of soda. Nate sighed to himself it was going to be annoying going into the office to pick up the new alchemy gear he had ordered. It was the 5th set this year, he wished he had known about the problems with some of the materials when he had read his book. Like beware poisonous smoke and danger be prepared to run into the next room.
"i suppose you have a point." nate said in a careful manner, its not like he or the robots had much choice but to learn about eachother for many reasons. 1 the robots were programmed to protect him and to assist him when needed. 2 the robots needed him to look after them. 3 he actually had grown very attached to the pair and building another two wouldn't feel the same.
wrrrwreerewwooo.....*I like it here and i like the demon lady.....* Gear said from his box as he shook with a a little rattle of metal. an arm bent out and waved at anya and nate vaguely before retreating back into the box as if embarrassed.
Nat blinked in surprise as he translated the noises in his head. It surprised him more than he cared to show. However if gear wasn't being hostile and if he didn't seem overly worried then he should at least be on guard. "It would appear he likes you." nate said with a smile his face and expressions going slightly wooden. He decide he would ask anya about this later if they were able to talk in private.
