A world without shellfish?! That was...that was...well, that actually wasn't horrible or anything. Anya wasn't particularly big on seafood, and that was one less creepy-crawly thing they would have had to look out for while swimming in the ocean...at least...still, it was a pity Jimmy hadn't said his world had been one without bunnies, or something. There was a happy thought! Unfortunately, it wasn't one that Anya had the opportunity to dwell on for very long, though. She kept being...distracted by this nerve-grating whispering that seemed to be going on around them. Blinking, the demoness looked around and found that several couples were currently staring at them, each quickly looking away as she swept her gaze over them, in that polite way humans did when you caught them staring at you. Up until now, Anya really hadn't paid them any mind, but now she was distinctly aware that they were paying her and Jimmy a strange amount of attention.
"What? What is it? Is something wrong?" Anya demanded of an older couple sitting near the door, turning around and looking at herself as if she half-expected to see she'd grown a tail or something. But the old couple just smiled at her endearingly, and in the next moment she tore her attention away from them and focused on catching up with Jimmy, who'd nearly reached the waiter who was going to lead them to their table. She frowned slightly, and then shrugged to herself. Humans were just strange sometimes. It was no use trying to figure them out - so she stopped worrying about the whole encounter as they were led over to their table.
Once they'd settled in, Anya turned her attention to the menu and tried to decide what she was in the mood for. Salad? Pasta? This menu sure was...extensive...though thankfully (or perhaps not so much), Italian was one of the many languages the demoness was fluent in. ..Although...she hadn't exactly taken a look at the meats yet...who knew how well seeing rabbit on the menu would go over. At any rate, that little freak-out was delayed once Jimmy spoke up and drew her attention to him for more reasons than one. Lowering her menu slightly, she raised her eyebrows and regarded him with some amount of concern. He sounded slightly...panicked? And now that she looked at him, she realized that there was definitely something wrong. Jimmy looked more than a little freaked out...and she didn't know him to be someone who usually freaked out...
"Yeah...it's...great.." she uncertainly responded to his comment on the restaurant, still partly distracted by trying to figure out what was wrong with him. The last time they'd been in a restaurant together (admittedly one far less classy than this, but..) Jimmy had spotted monsters who had then...proceeded to attack them. Because attacking two demonic entities and a mayor who would probably have absolutely no difficulty tackling a grizzly bear was really a fantastic idea, or something... But anyway, Anya had to wonder whether they were in danger again now. But why would that make Jimmy so nervous? He'd faced danger on a daily basis before....
"Um, Jimmy," Anya began apprehensively. "...Are you alright? You look like you've just seen a ghost!" She cast a wary glance around the restaurant, suddenly suspicious of its other inhabitants. "...There's not a ghost in here, is there? Or, you know...anything that would want to kill us? Because that would be just our luck, I swear."
