"Hmm? Why do I wanna know? It's crime, it's interesting, it's a mystery, a conundrum of an urban legend. It fascinates me, that is all." Kaitlyn was as stone faced as a professional poker player, stoic to a literal tee as she looked between the two of them and then broke eye contact, drifting up and to side for a moment. "Right, I forgot to tell you my name didn't I? It's Kaitlyn, Kaitlyn Stone." A quirk of her eyebrow as she curled her lips to the side a bit, she found that strange really, forgetting to introduce herself? That wasn't at all like herself and for a moment she looked genuinely confused.
"I'm sorry I'm not at all feeling like myself today, it's odd that I forgot to introduce myself. Guess all this school work is pulling me down a bit," she smiled an awkward smile, half cocked like a grin but it wasn't forced, rather, it was like she never really had much time to smile, all business all school work, all the time; A bit socially inept even. But, when Eliza got to the stories, the accusations that she herself, was old helljaws....she didn't even flinch at all. The girl knew something, something she wasn't letting onto, but that didn't matter as all good things came to those who waited and Kaitlyn/Stitch was very, very patient in these regards. "Yes, I've heard that as well, but that's all I've heard about Helljaws. He leaves no trace of the bodies, like they were devoured whole or something."
Kaitlyn scratched her neck softly, this was a bit weird really. Why would she know where he lived exactly and then it all came back to the whole two plus two equaled six theory - something just wasn't adding up with this girl and that put Katie on her guard. Even more so when she offered to take them to his lair, but she was going to take the bait anyways, it was a matter of principles a certain unwritten rule in her own code-book; pride had nothing to do with it, rather, she wanted to see this person with her own two eyes - mutual respect between her and someone like herself; efficient and capable, a real killer.
"Alright then, I'm game to go see this Maw place it's certainly better than sitting here all day and highlighting everything from the letter a to the letter z for my exams." She spoke with a certain nonchalance as she jotted down certain keywords from the girl's own words - The maw, property damage, buckets of blood and missing people, then with a quickness that border-lined on eagerness, stuffed her laptop and notepad into her bag and zipped it up. "I'm ready whenever you are, Miss Eliza."
Today was an interesting day after all, a meeting with someone that she did know something about and not only that, respected a great deal. But this girl, something about her flipped the old paranoia switch in Kaitlyn's brain and all at once, she was definitely on guard. Call it paranoia or call it intuition, but that girl gave off some....vibes that even Kaitlyn found a bit unnerving but chose not to really show it, rather she just went along with her suggestion, a yawn escaping her mouth as she finished off her tea and oatcake in one go. Research and school work was done with, it was time for some exploration and meeting a very important person.
She just didn't know what to expect when they got there and that, was the problem. She had a pair of balisong knives on her person, but that was it really. Though that was all she'd really need if someone or something did attack them, Kaitlyn had a certain....way with knives big or small. It was as much a part of her as the air she breathed, or her muscles or her blood. It was simply, how Kaitlyn worked. "Anything we need before we go there?"
