Mike was looking over this duo now. Mad Gear in the vicinity or not, those bastards could wait if they had a problem with the mayor. As he finished his coffee, he set the empty cup aside. "Mean? Yeah, those guys are mean but they're about as threatening as a kitten." Haggar said almost loud enough so the whole diner could hear. Haggar's whole reasoning to these insults is that he knew many of them would underestimate the mayor now he's out of his glory days, a grave mistake but for the time being they kept to themselves. Although, their stares were quite worrying. "No, they're not over it. Or should I say, their boss isn't quite over it." Rolento was one to hold a grudge, the guy's been working at dominating all of New York for quite some time and was quite the formidable opponent.
As Haggar gazed around the diner he suddenly heard the boy talk about some sort of demon and the slaying of some gangsters. Mike had heard nothing of the sort, sure murders of criminals are a dime a dozen here but the police tend not to investigate gang slayings too much, especially not enough to see if a demon did it. Mike really hadn't seen much in supernatural beings. "Only demon I ever see around here is that Akuma guy and gangster killings are not his bag, I'd say anyone talking of it is just letting superstition get the better of them." Haggar said in a quizzical manner. "Oh, and for the love of God. Call me Mike. Haggar chuckled with a grin, he really felt too much of a suit when someone spoke to him so formally.

Jimmy was actually quite surprised by Anya's reaction but following the trend the two had built up, assumed for completely the wrong reason. He was thinking she'd been attacked by one of those Deva taking guys and that she was still freaked out because of it (the logical part of his brain that says 'very few people survived such an attack' didn't engage for some reason). He listened as Mr Haggar replied saying he hadn't seen any and mentioned some guy called Akuma (probably not worth investigating either, but make a note of it) which meant that he may have just freaked Anya out for no real reason.
"Gotit Mr Haggar, uhh, Mike" Jimmy rubbed the back of his head as he turned to Anya, looked like he had to explain himself now. Well, he better make it good he guessed, and honest, considering how forward she'd been with him "Right, the thing with those demons. I dunno if you've encountered them but there are some guys and-"
Fortunately for Jimmy, he no longer had to explain past this point. Unfortunately for him, this was due to him being thrown out of the diner.
A blast if blue light slammed into the side of his body and hurled him over Mike's table and through the window in a shattering of glass. Jimmy saw the remnants of the window follow him as he bounced across one car and tumbled over the road landing in a pile behind a car on the opposite side of the street with a heavy thump. The force of his transit should probably have killed him but by reflex he'd transformed at each point of impact, leaving him on the floor, still in his human form but with a loud groan escaping his lips "Owwwww" He heaved himself up to look in the diner, picking a shard of glass out of his hair as he did.
-----
The man who'd been injecting himself had developed purple skin, a small mess of horns on his cheek and his hair had fallen out. His arms dangled down to his knees and the fingers spiralled into thin blades, his tongue dangling from his huge mouth and a distinctly unpleasent pot belly. It was almost comical how some of these mutations turned out, unfortunately, that blast of blue light was pretty unpleasent and Jimmy had no desire to feel it again. It might be best to draw it out and not transform in front of Anya and Mike. This decision was taken out of his hands unfortunately.
The purple Ahri swung its arms down and seemed intent to hit Anya with them which rather forced his hand. As the arms came down they seemed to vanish at around the shoulder joint suddenly with a loud whoosh of wind. The creature growled in confusion at its suddenly vanishing limbs and heard two thuds behind it as a different monster threw them to the ground.
This monster had pale skin, a rake thin body and a spiked plumage of blond hair. Black discs for eyes and thin bladed fingers swamped in a brown jacket suddenly a bit too large and wearing familiar jeans and T-shirt. From his body seemed to be radiating waves of evil that caused what few patrons remained to scatter (he didn't take notice of Mad Gear at this point, too intent on the creature)
"I think you dropped this" Jimmy offered, pointing to the removed arms. "Sorry guys, I didn't think he was ACTUALLY going to be an Ahri. Just going to take care of this, you may want to stand back if you don't want blood on you"
The creature glared at Jimmy and growled one word "Ahriman" "Yup, wanna revert now and save me the trouble?"
Jimmy glanced at the floor and noticed the arms twitching. To his dismay the arms regenerated in a flash of purple light into two identical copies of the creature as it too grew back it's arms. So now there were three of them, in a crowded diner. "Crap..." Jimmy rubbed his fore-head awkwardly, now he had two in front of him and one threatening mayor Mike and Anya. Well, Anya seemed resourceful and Mike was a renowned ass-kicker they should be fine. Which was why it worried him when a second one also dived at them.
Uh-oh

Anya eyed Haggar uncertainly as he spoke of some demon named Akuma; for whatever reason, the name didn't strike a bell with the vengeance demon. With as long as she'd been earthbound, however, perhaps it shouldn't have surprised her. It wasn't as if she could expect to keep up to date with all of hell's happenings when she spent her days hangin' with humans...and, well...people who looked like humans. She shrugged it off as Haggar assured them that dropping the formalities as far as names were concerned was fine, and instead returned her anxious gaze to Jimmy. He seemed willing to explain, at least, perhaps there was really no reason to be alarmed after a--
This daringly optimistic thought was abruptly cut off when a sudden explosion of blinding blue light illuminated the diner. What the...?! The blast had been aimed from one of the tables opposite them, roughly in the direction of the man who'd just been muttering into his cell phone, but Anya was too busy panicking to pay the attacker much mind right then. Because...Jimmy had just been thrown through the diner window. Violently slamming into a parked car, he behind it tumbled out of sight all before she could so much as blink. That impact...she couldn't see blood from here, but...Anya couldn't even form a coherent thought, her dumbfoundedly horrified gaze fixed in the direction he'd just been thrown in. Surely he couldn't be...
But the inhuman snarl, sounding alarmingly close in proximity, finally tore the demon's attention away from her possibly-dead companion for a split second. In that second, however, she registered the fact that there was a huge, purple, monstrous...thing about to slam its blundering arms right towards her. The absurdly chaotic scene that was quickly beginning to unfold left Anya too stunned to even attempt to get out of the way; all she could do was gape uncomprehendingly at the creature as it attacked. The impact never came, however. There was a blur of movement, and suddenly the purple creature's arms had been detached and hurled to the ground. Stumbling back a step, Anya glanced incredulously from the monster that had nearly sent her flying across the diner to...well, she wasn't exactly sure who or what had just saved her. A very pale, very thin being was now facing off against the monster; with long, clawed hands and round void-like black eyes this new...whatever it was challenged the purple creature. Anya's first instinct? Stay away. The pale monster radiated waves of evil that only seemed ten times stronger to the vengeance demon's senses, and for a moment she was left wondering where all of these creatures were coming from...until she realized that the pale monster was...wearing Jimmy's clothes.
...And speaking in Jimmy's voice....
Anya could only blink as he turned and addressed them, apologizing for the presence of the other creature (evidently called an Ahri). "Jimmy?!" was the only incredulously voiced response she managed to offer. What was going on? How was this possible? Was Jimmy some kind of demon as well? The creature certainly seemed to know him, it had called him something...what was it? As she attempted to make sense of it all, Anya made the very stupid mistake of standing still...in a small diner...where the Ahri's fallen arms were quickly beginning to regenerate into two more monsters. The questions would have to wait. Jimmy was still keeping two of them occupied, while the last was slowly advancing on Haggar, and...then one of the ones facing Jimmy suddenly turned and sprung at her without warning. Letting out a half-strangled yelp of surprise, she only just managed to duck out of the way of its swinging arms, scrambling back across the diner even as the Ahri turned to face her again. Putting too far a distance between her and it probably wasn't a good idea; it might encourage it to use one of those blue blasts that had tossed Jimmy around earlier. But then, what was she supposed to do?! She'd just come here to listen to some stupid girl whine about her prom date...she hadn't brought any weapons!
You're a vengeance demon, idiot. That repressed, darkened part of her mind snapped suddenly. Oh. Right.
As the Ahri advanced, Anya narrowed her eyes, squared her shoulders, and, making sure to use the flashiest brand of magic possible, teleported over to the front of the counter, a little ways to the Ahri's left. So much for her cover. But considering that Jimmy had just transformed into some kind of otherworldly monster, Anya supposed she didn't have too much reason to maintain this human charade any longer. Besides, her little show had certainly gotten the creature's attention. It turned confusedly, glancing from the spot she'd just been to where she stood now.
"Hi!" Anya smiled at it brightly. "You're gonna want to turn a little slower next time. You kinda have the whole gorilla thing going on, and your arms might--"
Having no patience for her babbling, the Ahri furiously charged at her. Which...was perfect, really. In the next instant, Anya had teleported again, leaving the purple creature to charge straight toward the counter. Even as it had begun to consider skidding to a stop, she'd reappeared behind it, and, bracing herself lest it suddenly swing around again, rammed into its back in a hard, abrupt shove. Now...this thing was several times bigger than her; one of its arms alone could've knocked her into the wall...but demonicly enhanced strength did have its perks...
Propelled by its own momentum and losing control as Anya slammed into its back, the Ahri crashed over the counter and tumbled thunderously to the ground. Not nearly enough to send it running for home, Anya guessed, but at least she now had a moment to take all of this in as the creature struggled to pick itself up off the ground.
"What are these things? I've never seen demons like these before!" Anya choked out, glancing from Haggar to Jimmy. "And wh...what are you?" she couldn't help adding to the latter.

The immense power of Haggar was soon to be tested, without a moments notice he saw a blue blast send Jimmy straight out the window into a parked car or something. Mike really didn't have the best view, all he knew is there was going to be hell to pay for any demon shenanigans. He had no patience for this crap, after all supernatural beings were not his thing. Haggar had no real interactions with them in the past aside from hearing ramblings about Akuma, the man that could single handedly destroy entire civilizations. Thankfully he hadn't targeted New York, making Akuma possibly the only entity not to try and threaten his fine city. Mike jumped to his feet, he wasn't going to be as stupid as to just rush over there to see what'd happened. If Haggar knew one thing it was to be careful around these kind of things, last he needs is to endanger himself.
Now, some monster was coming after them both, was quite possibly one of the most repulsing things the Mayor had ever seen in his life. It was some purple thing with huge arms. What's worse, it had focused on Anya and was about to attack. Mike was all but ready to jump in front until the arms finally fell down at the shoulder. This was way out of Mike's territory but it looks like he had no choice but to have to defend himself but suddenly this other monster appeared from behind, must have ripped off the arms of the purple thing. Mike smirked, impressed by the strength of it for one thing. However quickly the arms generated into copies of the same beast.
"So, you wanna wrestle, huh?" Haggar said with a grin, tearing his shirt and tie off, appearing much like he often did in the ring. It seems this particular clone was targeting him in general. Mike charged using his patented violent axe, swinging his arms downwards. This somehow launching the grotesque monster into the air. In a display of excellence, Haggar grabbed one of the diner chairs and folded it, batting the monster into the wall with the sheer force of the folded steel chair hitting him in the side of the face. "Tell Rolento, he'll be next." the Mayor said cockily, turning to the scattering Mad Gear thugs who were running out the door in fear.
As Mike had his head turned he hadn't realized the beast had returned to his feet, ready to cause some serious pain to Haggar. A fist slammed into his back sending him into the ground and causing cracks to form in the floor. "That all you got, wimp?" said the mayor as he recovered to his feet. Swiftly, he grabbed the grotesque monster and turned him upside down, jumping high enough to hit the ceiling before he spun in a circle and slammed the demon into the ground with his patented spinning pile driver. "You can't pull that crap around the mayor." he said, kicking the downed monster for good measure before turning to Anya. "How you holdin' up, Anya?" he spoke out, wondering if she needed any real assistance.

Jimmy's attempts at turning to help Anya were stopped by the creature that had been targeting him bringing both fists down at his head. There was a blur of motion as he moved out of the way, his features becoming unclear as he twisted around the monster to the side. The Ahri's fists crashed into the diner's floor and now had a shoe standing atop them to hold them in place. Pinning the Ahri's hands with his foot, Jimmy shrugged off his jacket and threw it onto one of the stools for safe keeping. Flexing his claws and experimenting with the freedom of only wearing a T-shirt, he was surprised when the monster raised its hands sharply and almost sent him flying.
Twisting with the motion, he performed a backflip of sorts and landed neatly on the ground, arms drawn back and jet black eyes locked onto the face of the Ahri. He could still see what he'd look like as a human in the mottled purple skin but he felt no empathy. Once someone had transformed like this he knew they had no consciousness to speak of. The guy was probably convinced he'd be able to control it, which was a shame. They all seemed to think they'd be the ones to become a commander. The Ahri roared again, seemingly distracted by a loud crash behind them, it was all the opening Jimmy needed. There was a flash of movement making the Ahri buckle backwards slightly. With a confused growl, it glanced down and saw the Ahriman's arm embedded deep into his chest. It felt strange coughing slightly as the black eyed monster looked up at it "Sorry, guess that's that" Jimmy yanked his arm back and tossed a lump of still beating meat to the side. The Ahri gurgled and collapsed. Seems removing the heart had the desired effect.
Looking behind him, it seemed Haggar had managed to pile-drive one into the ground which had killed it for sure and Anya had knocked hers over the counter. Which... was actually really impressive for a human girl. Jimmy wasn't about to take any chances, he jumped across to the one remaining Ahri and leapt on it's back. Stabbing forward sharply, he impaled it through the back, hitting it's heart again, and retracted his arm. Getting to his feet, he realised that Anya had worked out who he was... rather quickly too. And she had to ask him that question...
"I'm... well, it's kind of complicated" he finished lamely, reverting as he spoke to his human form, his body gained height and his hair fell back down into brown locks. He had no idea how to address the two of them right now and he absent-mindedly grabbed a towel from the diner counter to wipe the blood off his hands "I'm sort of... like, that thing. I understand if you two think I'm a monster or don't want anything to do with me. But there's this drug, Deva, that makes people into these things, I'm trying to find the source and I think it's important to everyone so if you hear anything... wait, how many demons have you seen?" Jimmy's ears had finally caught up with his brain, Anya had said she'd never seen demons like that before.. had she seen any demons before? Was this all about to get a lot more complicated? Man, he'd only just arrived in Jersey and he'd already met a strange girl, The mayor of New York and had pretty much murdered two Ahri in front of them. This was... not a good way to start.

It seemed in the time that she'd bowled over the Ahri facing her, the rest of the fight had played out quite quickly. Haggar was standing over his, hardly having broken a sweat, while the monster that Jimmy had been fighting had collapsed as well, a pool of blood slowly forming where it lay. Anya blinked, and quickly turned her gaze away from the sight...trying to refocus on what Haggar was asking her. Help...well, there was no doubt that he'd easily be able to take another one of these things, and it would save her having to use her demonic abilities to attack the Ahri again under much more noticeable circumstances...still, there was that irritating little bit of pride getting in the way of her common sense. With a glance at the Ahri, which was dazed but now attempting to pick itself up off the ground, and then back to the mayor, Anya responded hesitantly. "I...I think I'll be alrig—"
She stopped speaking suddenly as her attention was abruptly brought back to the Ahri again. For a split second, she thought the sickening crunch she'd heard was warning of the monster making an attempt to attack her again, but now she found...that said monster was dead. And Jimmy, stepping back to revert to human form, quickly cleaning the blood from his hands. As a demon who'd killed her fair share of innocent people in the past, the death of a mutant creature who'd just tried to kill her logically shouldn't have bothered her...except that, things were different now...and the Ahri had been human. Or, the first one had been, at least.
Anya shook herself out of these thoughts; it'd been kill-or-be-killed. She'd have to tough it up. Taking a shaky step away from the fallen creature, she tried to focus on what Jimmy was telling them. It seemed that some sort of drug called Deva had been responsible for the creation of these things...but...where did it come from? Did Jimmy's own powers have a similar source? And what was with the aura of evil he'd been projecting in that...other form? Grappling with all of the questions that ran through her mind, the vengeance demon frowned slightly...and proceeded to do what she did best: speak her mind.
"You were kinda scary, and you startled me," she admitted, eying Jimmy a bit warily. "But I wouldn't say I don't want anything to do with you. You just killed the things trying to kill us, so I think that says something for you. And...you did help me hide from that crazy girl earlier." Musing thoughtfully, Anya allowed herself to smile slightly after a moment, her verdict apparently falling on: 'Nope, not evil!'. This certainly explained the odd vibes she'd been getting from Jimmy earlier; still, there were quite of few things she wanted to know...
But she was going to have to answer Jimmy's question first, and that could prove to be tricky. Glancing sheepishly between Jimmy and Haggar, Anya gave an awkward little shrug. "Um. Well. ...Kind of...a lot?" she offered meekly. This really wasn't territory she was comfortable going into, but given what Jimmy had just revealed she didn't feel as if she had any place hiding her own secrets. With a resigned sigh, she raised her hand to brush a few disheveled locks of blonde hair back into place, before forcing herself to stop stalling. "Okay. So I'm not exactly human." Anya stated defensively. Because jeez, who was human these days? "B-but I'm not on drugs. And I don't ever turn purple. And... " her gaze shifted to Haggar. "I'm not looking to...to mess up New York, or anything. Promise." That said...or babbled, rather, the vengeance demon fell uncomfortably quiet. Her curiosity about Jimmy was still incessantly buzzing, but she bit back any further questions for now until she could gauge these two's reactions.

It had been a tough fight for sure, for all of them. Haggar hadn't suffered any real injuries but it was a crapshoot when he had to fight something that wasn't of this earth. Demons always did give him the creeps, Haggar wasn't a religious man. No, not for many a year but seeing demons walking around so freely had to make you think, that possibly there was some higher power... a higher power who's pissed. Anya seemed to be fine with her response, and it'd seemed that this kid was doing good at destroying these evil bastards even if he resembled a monster himself. Still, you never judge a book by it's cover. After all, Haggar had found himself deep in conversation with a Brazilian man who resembled a beast. After the ruckus had died down, everyone seemed to be safe and the kid was reverting to his previous self.
"Yeah, like the broad said. You were pretty damn scary. But, you did betta' then I could in this situation." Mike said, smiling over to the young man. Mike always did like to fight alongside the youth. Well, unknown to him Anya was far older but she looked young all the same. As Anya explained, Mike listened intently. He chuckled a bit as she promised not to do anything to New York. "Talkin' a New York. I gotta go back, my city needs me and my friend Cody is nowhere to be found. You did good you two. You're welcome in my city any time." Mike said, grabbing his jacked and heading to the door. It'd been a rough fight against these monsters but the piledriving mayor was all the better for the experience.
((OOC: I said to Ahri that I'd head out of the thread, as it can take me days to post at times and I didn't wanna hold you guys up. Have fun!))

Jimmy was actually surprised that one of Anya's arguments for not running away from him was that he'd helped her earlier with the crazy bitch. Which, while it had been going out on a limb, seemed reasonable enough to him. But hey, judging by that brief smile he'd passed the test of not trying to murder anyone important. He was also slightly conscious he was still getting used to not being excessive when fighting the Ahri. Though he'd only stabbed the two he'd killed, he had kinda gone over board. He hadn't given in but between his evil aura and the fact he tended to laugh like a super villain most people seemed to get freaked out by his transformation.
But Anya's taking it well kind of made sense after she revealed she wasn't human. Which, of course, made Jimmy jump backwards in surprise. She wasn't human?! What should he- well, duh, he wasn't either. He kept forgetting that... forcing himself to relax he listened to her explaining how she wasn't on drugs (which, to be fair, was the kind of thing you needed to add after making that kind of claim under normal circumstances, let alone after hearing about Deva). He was even kind of relieved to hear she didn't turn purple cos he thought it'd clash with her eyes... "Jeez, my girlfriend died a few months ago, I am a terrible person" Jimmy thought to himself bitterly and relegated such thoughts to the side of his mind so he could pay attention.
Mayor Haggar seemed to not only take these revelations in his stride but quite calmly said he was returning to New York without, like, threatening to inform the national guard or the church or anything. Somehow, the fact he was completely human made him even more inhuman to the eyes of an abomination like Jimmy. He could kill huge purple man-monsters cos he had knives for fingers, this guy just slammed one through the floor with pure might. "Mr Haggar, you are the manliest man I have ever met" Jimmy announced to the air as the Mayor took his leave, before turning his attention awkwardly back to Anya
"So, I guess we're both not exactly human." he scuffed the floor slightly with his feet and thought for a moment "OK, how about I tell you what the deal is with my weirdness and you tell me yours? I'm a genetic experiment by a guy called James Finn who crossed his own DNA with that of an extra-dimensional monster called the Angra Mainyu which is, like, this source of evil, hate and destruction that ends universes. I don't end universes though. I quite like universes, they really rock my world. But that's why I can transform, the Ahri are people who get jabbed with Angra Mainyu's DNA so they become monsters. Right, your story?" Jimmy panted slightly to regain his breath after that tirade but at least he'd unloaded on someone. It felt... strangely relieving to not have to be a secret any more.

With the monsters sufficiently...dealt with, Haggar had turned and informed them that it'd be best if he returned to New York. The information didn't really come as a surprise; Anya had heard more than once of Haggar's devotion to his city. And if purple mutant creatures were sprouting up here, well then...she could only imagine what would be going down in the crazy parade that was New York City. And to think that she'd actually expected New Jersey to be a change of pace...
Well, at least Haggar had been around when the Ahri had attacked. And it wasn't every day that you got to meet a mayor, let alone one who kicked as much ass as Mike did. Anya waved cheerfully as he departed, "'Bye, Mike! We'll keep an eye out for Cody for you." she called after him, noting the name of the friend that the mayor had originally came here in search of. Not that she'd actually bothered to consider that it would be a bit difficult to 'keep an eye out' for someone when all you knew was their first name, but hey! This was New Jersey. Didn't everyone here have odd names like 'Snooki' and 'The Situation'? How many Cody's could there be?
She shrugged. At least Haggar hadn't displayed a particularly disdainful reaction to her little confession. Now she just had to worry about Jimmy. Slowly, Anya turned back to him, still looking a tad uncomfortable. This was one of those slightly awkward moments when two would-be humans faced each other after the revelation that they both were not, in fact, what they appeared to be. ...Strangely enough, these kinds of moments had been oddly...common lately in Anya's life. This world really was crazy.
The vengeance demon fidgeted nervously as Jimmy proposed explaining their respective secrets. The idea of admitting to being a demon didn't thrill her, but she supposed it was only fair...after all, she really was curious to hear Jimmy's story. So she nodded once, agreeing to 'fess up if he would, and then diligently focused listening to what Jimmy had to tell her.
A genetic experiment...Anya's eyes widened slightly. This certainly wasn't her area of experience; while she could go on for hours about all sorts of magic-related things, science was a whole different issue entirely. And if she was understanding this even somewhat correctly, Jimmy's DNA was that of a human...mixed with a creature whose evil was comparable with that of The First's. "That explains the evil thing." Anya commented absently. She pondered this for a moment before blinking, realizing that it'd probably be better to provide a little more of an explanation. "I mean, when you transformed, it just kinda felt...dark. But I guess that makes sense, if you've got a bit of evil-terrifying-destroyer-of-worlds creature in you." She nodded thoughtfully, as if this were just your everyday idle conversation. Despite her words, however, Anya had experienced enough to know that simply having evil as a part of you...didn't necessarily make you an evil person. As she reflected on this, she added, "But you're pretty good at the whole 'human' thing, too. If that makes you feel any better.." At least Jimmy wasn't rampaging around killing innocent people, like those Ahri things...
...In fact...though his DNA was actually composed of this Angra Mainyu creature, Jimmy actually seemed...like a fairly decent guy. Which made Anya feel all the worse for choosing to become a demon and embracing evil for all those centuries. But, she could probably do with leaving that part out. It was only out of habit that she looked a bit shifty when Jimmy asked her for her story in turn. After a moment's hesitation, she began to stumble over words...
"W-well, I'm...well, people call us vengeance demons." Sheesh, that sounded negative. "We're kind of like...genies. Except...we only grant wishes to help people seek revenge." 'Help' was a questionable word; usually said wishes ended up hurting the wisher just as much as the one they had targeted. Quickly, Anya continued, "But I don't do that anymore! I lost my powers for awhile a few years ago, fell in with some humans, and...it kind of changed my perspective."
Well. That was that, they'd both gotten everything out into the open. Clasping her hands together a bit anxiously, she gazed at Jimmy with a mixture of apprehension and...uncertain relief. It didn't feel bad, not having to hide anything. But now...Anya wasn't exactly sure what to do with herself.

Jimmy was oddly alright with his evil thing being described like that, he added into her original synopsis of his evil aura a brief note "It's nice to see someone who didn't pee themself, the first time. I think that waitress caught a glimpse as I came back in and there's this puddle I don't want to examine near where she was standing..." he'd only caught a brief glimpse as he came back in but she'd seemed kind of terrified out of her mind.
He smiled at Anya saying he made a good human. He technically was completely human in his human form, Ahri count of 0% it was only when he transformed that it maxed out and made him a terrifying monster man. But it was still nice, and he resolved to try and be as supportive at the difficulty she'd have describing herself.
It was noticably shorter.
He waited until she finished before trying to comment and when he did it was slightly lame but it was a reaction at least "So... you were a demon who granted vengeance wishes? Huh... if there is a hell I am so screwed" Jimmy mused. Even if they looked past his casual murdering of several people, he was also at least semi responsible for not stopping the death of a universe. He couldn't judge Anya for helping with vengeance, he was quite... well versed in that part of life. He'd cut off his own father's hand and pretty much any kind of attack on him or offence ended with someone losing a head. But she'd given it up and had changed her point of view... how different would she have been? Would she have been the same but with ulterior motives? Jimmy wasn't aware vengeance demons often aimed for jilted lovers so, thankfully, completely failed to connect the crazy woman to Anya.
"Are you a demon now then? I mean, I'm in no way judging, obviously, but I'm curious. I mean, do demons actually look weird, I just assumed they had like horns and weird skin or... I dunno like me when I'm transformed" Jimmy grabbed his jacket off the floor, since it had fallen down during his double homocide, and threw it on with a sigh and a scratch of his head "We should probably go too, before the police turn up." And I'll have to kill them he thought to himself and frowned at his own thought. That was NOT a happy thought to have, he should probably keep an eye on that. He wasn't crazy any more but he had to make sure he embraced his inner darkness a little so he could avoid being... well, BEING his inner darkness. "Do you know any where we can go?... or stay if I swear to be good and go in the morning" He'd take a rejection, but he was getting sick of either sleeping rough or breaking into hotels, if Anya only lived in New York they might make it there fairly quickly. Was New Jersey far from New York? He couldn't remember, he was terrible at Geography...

A glimmer of amusement flashed in Anya's eyes at the mention of the waitress's reaction, though really the poor lady's terror wasn't something to laugh at. But sometimes human behavior, particularly where anything supernatural was concerned, could be so strange—and she meant that affectionately. The evil aura Jimmy had given off had been intense, perhaps even more so because she'd been so completely unprepared for it, but at this point the vengeance demon was more curious than wary.
And, thankfully, he seemed to be of the same mindset where she was concerned. Anya relaxed somewhat upon hearing Jimmy's initial response; there was no hint of anything frightened or judgmental in his words...though, she couldn't help but want to inquire about his hell-related comment. Her tendency to take everything literally led her to read a bit more into this than she needed to, and she surveyed Jimmy for a moment with wide eyes. "Oh sure, there's a hell. ..Actually there are hundreds of different hell dimensions, but..." Anya paused thoughtfully. "I don't see why you'd end up in any of 'em. There's the evil DNA issue, sure, but I bet they'd let that slide if you keep doing this whole friendly neighborhood mutant-hero thing." She smiled earnestly. Anya, despite her occasionally cynical demeanor, was a firm believer that redemption was possible for anyone. It was the only thing she could believe while keeping her sanity, being an only recently reformed demon with a thousand years of evil deeds counting against her.
No sooner had she reminded herself of this than Jimmy seemed to emphasize these thoughts, asking her whether or not she was still a demon. "Technically...yes. It's kind of complicated, but all vengeance demons were once human at some point...so we usually keep our human forms; it makes our job a little easier. I could do the whole vicious terrifying demon-form thing, but...I've noticed most people don't like that very much." Perfect example, the reaction of the diner's staff and customers to what had just happened. No, humans were not big fans of mean scary creatures, and all Anya wanted was to inconspicuously blend into their community...so, she wasn't planning on getting all demon-faced any time soon.
But all thoughts on that aside, Jimmy was right. It was time to leave. Glancing guiltily around the deserted diner, Anya reflected that their fighting really had made a bit of a mess...and they'd probably cost the place days' worth of business, too. A part of her felt bad, leaving all of this for someone else to clean up, but...when the police got here, she doubted they'd be too impressed with their story. She considered which course of action to take from here, eying Jimmy carefully. It wasn't as if she had any particular aversion to letting a man spend a night in her apartment; after all she'd been letting an on-the-run bounty hunter take shelter there up until recently. And anyway, it couldn't hurt...much. If anything, she knew she should be more worried about Jimmy going all monster-esque again at some point rather than him trying anything, but...oddly enough, she realized she did trust him. As much as the inquisitive, jittery demon trusted anyone she'd only just met, at least.
"I have an apartment, back in New York, and it has a spare bedroom...as long as you don't mind cats." What odd impulse had led her to take in the stray she'd rescued, Anya still didn't know, but...though she wasn't a big animal person (most small and furry things reminded her too much of bunnies..), she found that oddly enough, she didn't much mind the little tabby's company. Now, it was only a matter of getting to New York. An idea struck her instantly, and she nearly blurted it out before reminding herself to choose her words a bit more carefully. Shrugging innocently, Anya went on, "We could probably catch a train or something, but...it'd be a lot faster if we teleported."

Jimmy didn't really want to discuss the evil DNA thing because it might reveal that he was worried about... well, his mind. He thought things that he knew a good person wouldn't think, had urges that were evil, like 100% pure satan, but he didn't usually act on them. Still, slashing apart a misguided guy who was kind of evil was probably NOT the most morally right thing to do. If he even HAD a human soul he was pretty confident it was going to one of those hell dimensions Anya mentioned with his attitude. He'd spent years thinking about the injustice, that no matter what he did, who he saved, what he fought he was still a monster and still evil. He wasn't looking for redemption, he was fighting the tide of his identity and destiny and he didn't think he could win, even if did fight as a 'mutant super hero'
But he wasn't about to start wallowing in self pity, especially given he was fairly sure he'd just spend the time in hell killing stuff. He cheered up when Anya said she had a scary demon form, because for some sureal reason he felt more like he had a connection with someone who had a terrifying version of themselves. Heck, as far as he was aware, they had a similar backstory of a human being turned into a monster. At the very least, that made this whole scenario an improvement. He was even more thrilled that he had a BED to sleep in
"Cats plural? I think I can cope" He failed to mention that some animals seemed to hate him on principle. In fact, exactly half of the animals on earth he'd counted. The incredibly dangerous ones were affectionate but dogs and cows wanted to stampede him. It was weird. Still, he was glad that he had somewhere to stay so he had to smile. And blink in confusion at what she was saying about teleportation "I don't know how to teleport, I can run pretty fast as Ahriman if I need to... Oh, yeah, the other Ahri's call me that. Sorry, don't think I mentioned it. Anyway, if you know how to teleport that'd be useful. Especially if you can take passengers" Jimmy was accutely aware he could hear sirens and for a brief flicker his skin turned pale and his eyes darkened out of force of habit. He didn't release much evil aura but it was enough for the people outside the diner to flinch slightly, he winced at his lack of discipline. He was in control but an automatic reaction to problems was good when avoiding death but less so when confronted by someone trying to kill them, "Oops, sorry, reflex. Hey should we go out the back? Just so we don't get seen or y'know, anything like that while teleporting" For some reason he was imagining teleportation as being some big flash of light and beams like an old Sci-Fi show. The back of his mind was reminding him that if he wanted to teleport all he'd have to do was... but he quelled that immediately and refused to entertain the idea.

The moment Jimmy voiced his agreement on the teleporting matter, Anya grinned brightly. Ooh, this would be fun! Not that teleporting was a particularly novel activity for her, but there was just something about disappearing in a blink of an eye while the police were searching for you right out side that made it that much more exciting! Like one of those old movies Xander used to watch...except there had been no teleporting involved in them, just heart-racing car chases and lots of shooting. Anya's flighty mental rambling went on for a few seconds longer, before it occurred to her that right now they probably couldn't afford to waste much time.
Just as she was refocusing, however, a round of distant sirens broke the silence between them. Anya stiffened instinctively at the sound, but her apprehension at the idea of the police finding them was nothing compared to the sharp spike of anxiety that struck her upon experiencing Jimmy's evil-tainted aura for the second time that day. It wasn't quite as much of a shock as it had been when he'd transformed, but even the thousand year-old vengeance demon couldn't help but feel a bit unnerved. It'd just take some getting used to, she supposed. Anya nervously glanced out the shattered window again, checking both for approaching police cars and any signs that the people outside had noticed the aura as well. Okay. It was definitely time to get going.
"Right. The back." she nodded to Jimmy's words; as easy as it would've been to just teleport then and there, there were still people outside and Anya was guessing none of them would react too calmly upon seeing two people disappear into thin air. Common sense. She kept forgetting to use it. "Let's go, then, before you scare off too many of the locals." Anya continued with her usual obliviously casual style of bluntness. "..Not that that would be a bad thing. A population decrease would probably do this city wonders." So far, the New Jersey locals she'd met had either been crazy vengeance-seeking women, crabby coffee-spitting waitresses, or vicious, terrifying purple mutants. She was actually looking forward to getting back to New York City.
Glancing around for an alternative exit, Anya figured that poking around behind the counter would be their best yet. She motioned for Jimmy to follow, before scurrying off around the counter. Sure enough, back in the kitchen there was a door that seemed to be leading to an alley behind the diner. That would work! The demon wasted no time in heading straight for the door, noting that the sirens were sounding ominously closer with every passing moment.
Once she'd exited the diner, Anya turned in search of Jimmy. "Okay then! Give me your hand," she told him, holding out her own encouragingly. "I'm...still kind of getting the hang of this taking-someone-along-for-the-ride thing, and if we break physical contact things could get messy. But don't worry, teleporting's fun! Although it might make you kind of dizzy the first time..." Warning of the possible side effects was always wise, Anya reasoned. After all, it was what they did on all of those prescription drug commercials...

((OOC: No worries Meekseh )) Jimmy was aware of his increasing desensitization to Anya and her slightly rambling 'borderline offensive' ways of examining people and what they did. As she lead their way past the counter, he gave one last fleeting glance out the window and another look down at the remains of the three identical corpses. Should he just leave them there? It might cause a panic if the news got out that some purple skinned dead bodies were found abandoned in a diner. Then again, this was Jersey, maybe they could write it off as being a gang that hideously deformed it's members? He winced and decided that he shouldn't really pursue this this train of thought. With any luck they'd look generic enough that the police wouldn't identify him or Anya. Quickly slipping through the kitchen, Jimmy spotted a few stray bits of food that, after a brief flicker of doubt, he grabbed and slipped it inside his jacket pocket. He didn't have any money that was valid here so anything he could take would be welcome, he didn't know how long he could stay with Anya after all. Following her into a small alleyway behind the diner, Jimmy listened intently to her description of the teleportation and some exceptionally alarming details that made him feel suddenly terrified of this expedition. He swallowed nervously at Anya's explanation and gingerly gripped her hand with his "So, uhh, I can regenerate pretty well from injuries but I'm not going to end up fused to a wall or anything am I?" his nerves making him squueze Anya's hand tightly for security. He didn't really wish to examine what it said about him that teleporting made him nervous but fighting a horrific monster was almost boring in his opinion. ((OOC: I couldn't think of more stuff to write But now is teleportation time!))

Fused to a wall?! She'd never considered that possibility before, and she cast a suspicious glance at the nearby brick wall of the diner as if it had just threatened her. What would it be like, being fused to a wall? Probably very unpleasant, and boring, too. Anya didn't like thinking about the possibility, though she considered her answer carefully nonetheless. "Um. Well...hmm. That's never happened before!" she informed Jimmy, trying to sound encouraging. Granted, she'd only ever teleported someone else with her a couple of times; the results weren't exactly predictable. But, no need to mention a tiny little irrelevant detail like that! "Worst case scenario, you might end up in some remote desert across the world, or something. But...I'm pretty sure I can do this!" Anya finished, her smile returning. Perhaps honesty wasn't the best policy at the moment, but...sugarcoating things was a waste of energy that would only distract her.
Turning to look at Jimmy, she beamed cheerfully in her best attempt to reassure him. "It'll be easier if you're not so nervous. Just try to relax, and think of something calming. Like...the ocean, or...lots and lots of money." She might have prattled on longer, but odds were the police had already reached the diner by now. Probably better not to waste much more time. The demon closed her eyes, and, after a few seconds of careful concentration, teleported them both in a light rush of air.
....Hmm. Solid ground, check. Limbs intact and...not fused to a wall, check! Anya opened her eyes again, took a brief glance around, and then relaxed. They weren't in some faraway desert, not unless said desert had been drastically remodeled to look like the interior of her apartment! But she was pretty sure it was safe to say that they were in the middle of her living room as opposed to the Sahara. Her apartment had a determined neatness about it that evidently reflected the demon's finicky personality, while at the same time its simple, mostly unadorned normality gave off the air of trying to be made to appear too human. Everything appeared to be just as she'd left it, with the exception of her little feline friend who was now dozing lazily under a chair—he'd grown mostly accustomed to the vengeance demon's spontaneous teleporting in and out by now.
Anya was somewhat pleased to note that her dizziness, even when teleporting another person along with her, seemed to be dwindling to a minimum. But, as soon as she composed herself, it struck her—Jimmy! She'd let go of his hand to catch her balance, but she'd been pretty sure she'd managed to hang onto him during the actual teleportation. Spinning around, she fixed him with a rather concerned gaze. "I...think that went well! How do you feel?" she asked, inspecting him nervously.
