Body and Appearance 1. Describe the character's height and build. Is she heavyset, thin, short, rangy? Short and small. She's of an average weight, and more on the slender side.
2. How old is she? 26.
3. Describe her posture. Does she carry herself well or does she slouch? UM PROPER VICTORIAN POSTURE GUYS. No, but um. She really only focuses on doing the whole proper posture thing if she wants to make an impression, pretty much only when she was masquerading as Miss Montague. Otherwise, she's generally relaxed and confident.
4. How is her health? Is she fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities? Nope, Clara's a pretty healthy person. Nothing weird to report here.
5. How does she move? Is she clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid? Clara's kinda...bouncy? Ridley doesn't call her a Victorian Energizer Bunny for nothing. But, apart from that, there's nothing really remarkable about the way she moves. She just kinda. Does.
6. How attractive is this character physically? How does she perceive herself in the mirror? Clara's rather pretty by most people's standards, in a sort of cute way. She's not ~stunningly sexy~, but Captain Latimer had a good reason to harbor a bit of a crush on her. Her beauty is rather girlish, which explains why her time duplicate is 19 and they still look alike, and as for how she percieves herself? Eh. Clara doesn't quite have Oswin's "oh look at me i'm so sexy" attitude, but she doesn't have an real issues the other way either. She just sort of sees herself the way she is. Which really isn't so bad at all.
7. Describe her complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred? Light and clear, like a ~proper Victorian lady~.
8. Describe her hair: color, texture, style. Brown and rather soft to the touch. Clara usually keeps her hair up in a half-bun with the rest of it coming down around her shoulders.
9. What color are her eyes? Brown.
10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features? Nope!
11. What are her chief tension centers? Similar to Oswin. Her jaw and her hands, both of which she has a habit of clenching.
12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does she have six of the same suit? ahaha Clara's wardrobe. It's actually a pretty important thing to her, since her clothing is mostly what sets her apart from Oswin, physically. As such, even though she really should be wearing modern clothing to blend in, Clara's stuck with her Victorian outfits out of personal preference. They're more akin to the stuff she would wear as a barmaid, the simpler, slightly more revealing dresses and shawls. Because running around and having adventures is just so much easier sans bustle and corset.
13. Do her clothes fit well? Does she seem comfortable in them? Yup! The TARDIS wardrobe automatically fits stuff to her size, so there's no worries about having stuff that doesn't fit. And, admittedly, modern clothing would just be the slightest bit uncomfortable for her.
14. Does she dress the same on the job as she does in her free time? If not, what are the differences? Nope, no differences. If she must, she'll try to blend in a little better, but catching her in modern clothes is a rare experience indeed :]
15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando? oooh victorian underwear oooh so sexy.
Speech 1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
2. How does she normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does she talk easily, or does she hesitate? Fast. Clara is a little motor-mouth when she gets going, and it's easy for her to keep up a conversation. And she's also somewhat louder than a normal person, but not so much that it's obnoxious.
3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics? Naturally, Clara has a bit of a cockney accent, but it's not really as noticable as you'd think. Unless she gets angry, then that accent just gets stronger and she starts dropping her hs and gs and chewing you out until you never want to hear it again.
4. What language/s does she speak, and with how much fluency? Just English. The gift of the TARDIS allows her to speak and understand almost every known language in the Universe.
5. Does she switch languages or dialects in certain situations? Her accent gets stronger when she's angry, and when she's around children, her voice occasionally and instinctively slips into the faux posh accent she would put on when she was Miss Montague.
6. Is she a good impromptu speaker, or does she have to think about her words? Clara's actually really good with impromptu, something that came in handy during the one-word test that Madame Vastra gave her.
7. Is she eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change? Eloquent, usually. Or, she tries to be, but when she's angry that might chance. Clara has Oswin's temper, but not her impulsiveness.
Mental and Emotional 1. How intelligent is this character? Is she book-smart or street-smart? Both, to an extent. Clara was rather well-educated for someone of her background, enough so to become governess to a pair of high-class children, as well as clever enough to land herself a job in London as a barmaid and get by in the city by herself, which was actually a pretty good accomplishment in her time period.
2. Does she think on her feet, or does she need time to deliberate? She's a companion. Thinking on her feet is in her job description.
3. Describe the character's thought process. Is she more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical? Clara's intelligence can actually make her pretty logical at times, though it might not be Oswin's level of genius. Actually, while she might not possess that extreme intelligence, Clara's restraint is a little better than Oswin's, keeping her from rushing right into things if she's angry for the most part and taking just a bit of time to think.
4. What kind of education has the character had? Very basic, for the most part. Clara learned to read and write quickly as a child, and it was really only through her immediate fondness for reading that she became as educated as she did.
5. What are her areas of expertise? What, if anything, is she interested in learning more about? Um. Children and people are both things that Clara is good with. She wouldn't have wanted to become a governess if she wasn't good with children, and one thing that really sets her apart from Oswin is that she's a lot more open with people in general.
She can also bake. Even souffles. Suck on that one, Oswin.
Oh, and casually stabbing Aragami in the chest. nbd.
6. Is she an introvert or an extrovert? Extrovert, definitely. Clara's good with people and she generally likes to be around them.
7. Describe the character's temperament. Is she even-tempered or does she have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven? Cheerful and energetic. Like I said before, Victorian Energizer Bunny. And she's...generally pretty even-tempered unless you do something to really set her off. Clara's got a temper too, she just keeps it under control most of the time.
8. How does she respond to new people or situations? Is she suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic? ahahaha, Clara loves new things. New people and experiences and situations, she just grabs everything that comes her way by the horns, especially now with her second chance at life.
9. Is she more likely to act, or to react? Pff, act. She's a companion. And one that really doesn't allow things to just pass her by.
10. Which is her default: fight or flight? IT depends. On whether or not the opponent is BIG AND SCARY because then, unlike Oswin, Clara knows to get the hell out of there.
11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does she appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks? Umm. Clara's sense of humor sort of revolves around snarking, not unlike Oswin. She can totally appreciate trolling people and the occasional prank, which is kinda why she and Ridley are a deadly combinaion in this area. u must be loco 2 mess with us :]
12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does she deal with them? Nope. Clara hasn't had a lot of the trauma that certain other identical people have, so she's got a pretty clean bill of mental health.
13. What moments in this character's life have defined her as a person? Um. Striking out on her own was a big thing. Mostly because GASP a woman making her own living? BLASPHEMY. Clara's move to do that was pretty bold for a woman of her time, and while she literally gave no fucks about what people thought, it did change her life completely, moving from the country to the city.
Becoming the governess for the Latimer family because um yeah, this was kind of her 'fuck you' to the world that kept saying a lower class girl couldn't get a job like that.
Meeting the Doctor. Whichis kind of a big thing for a lot of people, and Clara's life wouldn't have taken the turn that it did without him. And even though she kinda died, she still doesn't regret a minute of it.
DYING because um yeah dying is kind of a big thing that happened and even though she came back to life, she died. It's kind of a freaky thing and it still haunts her a little bit.
14. What does she fear? Umm heights? It kinda happens when you fall off a cloud nbd.
15. What are her hopes or aspirations? She just really, really, really wants to prove herself as a different person than Oswin and a seperate entity all her own. The idea that there's another her running around sort of makes her uncomfortable, especially since everyone else seems to know Oswin already. Clara feels like they're expecting her to be like Oswin or something of that nature, and she just. Doesn't. Like it. So yeah, her aspirations sort of revolve around being her own person.
16. What is something she doesn't want anyone to find out about her? Nothing really, Clara's kind of an open book. She doesn't really have a lot of secrets.
Unless you don't already know Oswin, in which case, she sort of likes it when people don't know she's a time duplicate. Before this hypothetical person actually meets Oswin, Clara tends to just...not mention her at all. Once questioned about it, she opens up and explains well enough, but is clearly uncomfortable with explaining it.
Relationships 1. Describe this character's relationship with her parents. It wasn't really anything special. Clara was particularly close to her mother, because she spent a lot of time around her learning womanly ways, but apart from that, her relationship with her parents was like any other child's.
2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like? No siblings.
3. Are there other blood relatives to whom she is close? Are there ones she can't stand? Nope.
4. Are there other, unrelated people whom she considers part of her family? What are her relationships with them?
5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet? Okay, so. Nine can probably be argued for because, um yeah. Clara is gratful to Nine forever and ever and ever, and he was just kinda there for her during a really tough time. Meeting him was the first little spot of hope she had on AM (well, besides being invited to stay with the Merlin cast), because finally, here was a Doctor that wasn't going along with team TARDIS. And he's like her in being a time duplicate, so he's one of the only people she can really confide to about her Oswin-related fears and troubles. In a way, they both kind of saved each other from being alone in the universe. Rose had gone off with team TARDIS and Eleven was nowhere to be found, which sort of left a companion-less Doctor and a Doctor-less almost companion. What better to do than team the two of them up?
Also they met in the ICC during a Homestuck tide and Clara kinda stalked Nine just a little bit until he came back.
6. Does she have other close friends? RIDLEY! Yes, this is another one of those "how the fuck did this happen" friendships that Jemi and Meeks are so famous for. Ridley is sort of Clara's snarking buddy and modern-day translator and best female friend because come on you really need one of those. There's some instinctual part of Clara that's like "o no dark caster 2spooky O:" BUT after seeing Ridley's capabilities as a companion (heck, the fact that she came along at all was a surprise, but hey. It was an awesome surprise.), Clara ignored that more than usual enough to get closer to her. So yeah. They're bros. claridley 5ever.
And um Fluffy counted up until recently because d'aw. Clara really did come to care for Kyubey in the short time that he spent with 2.0 and felt a great deal of empathy for him. Even before he was severed, she liked him for kinda being there while everyone was yelling at her to stay away from team TARDIS and not go traveling. Of course, it was totally just to manipulate her, but y'know . Aaand that all changed when the fire nation attacked Haama decided to kill him and mess with her memories of him. Oh well.
Oh, and Morgana. Morgana was cool enough to explain the whole time duplicate thing as gently as possible while everyone else just kinda yelled at her, so. And she offered Clara a place to stay which was nice. The whole Merlin cast is actually pretty cool and she fell in with them well enough, even if she did still sort of feel like an outsider. After all, they'd all known each other for a long period of time and were all from the same world, so.
And Athu who was fuuun to troll. :]
7. Does she make friends easily, or does she have trouble getting along with people? Easily! As mentioned, Clara is totally cool with people and willing to chat with just about anyone who isn't trying to kill her.
8. Which does she consider more important: family or friends? Friends. Clara does have a certain fondness for family, but friends are at the top of her list at all times. It's something she shares with Oswin.
9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has she been married more than once? Single and ready to mingle. :]
10. Is she currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse? Nope.
11. Who was her first crush? Who is her latest? She wasn't ever really fond of the whole romance thing, mostly because Victorian men were usually just interested in wives out of necessitiy rather than love.
12. What does she look for in a romantic partner? Clara is a strong, independant woman who don't need no man. But, if she were looking for one, she'd prooobably want to opposite of the Victorian archeitype of a man. And someone who could keep right up with her because anyone who falls behind is lame.
13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does she relate to them? If no, does she want any? YES ALL THE CHILDREN. Clara loves kids. She wasn't a governess for nothing, after all, and she's geuninely really good with them. While Oswin is more of the irresponsible aunt who takes the kids she's in charge of along for adventures, Clara looks after them with a little more of a firm hand. She doesn't have any of her own, but perhaps in the future.
14. Does she have any rivals or enemies? Umm. Basically anyone who goes after the people she cares about. AND THAT DUMB PUNK-ROCK DOMINATRIX GONE WRONG FITE ME I-NO.
15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does she fall on the Kinsey scale? Heterosexual.
16. How does she feel about sex? How important is it to her? It is a thing that SHOULD NOT BE DONE UNTIL YOU'RE MARRIED WOW OSWIN SO IMPROPER. Other than that, Clara doesn't really care.
17. What are her turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits? :]
Beliefs 1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does she fit type? Clara is canonically a Sagittarius, her birthday being on November 23 (same day as the first episode of Doctor Who aired ooo). And wow, looking at what Sagittariuses are known for, it fits Clara to a T. They're optimistic, possess a natural exuberance and a sense of adventure, and are happiest when they're on the move and exploring new things. And if that's not Clara, I don't know what is.
2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in her life? Umm. Not really. Or, at least, it's never really touched on in canon.
3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it? Clara's moral code is pretty much the same as any other companion. Killing is off-limits unless completely necessary, and hurting children is something she DISAPPROVES OF INTENSELY. Yeah.
4. How does she regard beliefs that differ from hers? Is she tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent? Unless you're killing or hurting people, it's all good. She does tend to be somewhat curious, though, as she is with most other things.
5. What prejudices does she hold? Are they irrational or does she have a good reason for them? Noope, she's pretty cool with everything.
Daily Life 1. What is the character's financial situation? Is she rich, poor, comfortable, in debt? Pfff, yeah. LIke money is a thing when you're ~traveling time and space~.
2. What is her social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected her? Fuck you, companion is a social status all it's down. Aaand she was pretty low class in her world, but she actually gave zero fucks about that kind of thing. Yolo.
3. Where does she live? House, apartment, trailer? Is her home her castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does she share it with others? Clara is currently taking residence on Nine's TARDIS, and since she doesn't really spend too much time in her room, it's generally kept pretty neat.
4. Besides the basic necessities, what does she spend her money on? Um. There's nothing she really needs to spend money on, so.
5. What does she do for a living? Is she good at it? Does she enjoy it, or would she rather be doing something else? Companioning is an occupation and it is the best occupation.
6. What are her interests or hobbies? How does she spend her free time? Baking. Lots and lots of baking and chilling with the rest of 2.0.
7. What are her eating habits? Does she skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods? Um, I guess she eats pretty regularly? She doesn't have Oswin's habit of skipping meals, so.
Associations Which of the following do you associate with the character, or which is her favorite:
1. Color? Red. THE BLOOD OF ANGRY MEN 2. Smell? 3. Time of day? Dusk 4. Season? Winter 5. Book? Poe stories. 6. Music? ~Classical~ 7. Place? 8. Substance? plutonium :] 9. Plant? u r mah rose 10. Animal? Cat. nine lives :]

Body and Appearance 1. Describe the character's height and build. Is she heavyset, thin, short, rangy? Thin, medium height, and just kinda...spindly. Like, she's probably underweight, because everything about her is spindly and just kinda sharp. She's very...witchy, for lack of a better word.
2. How old is she? Thirty-six. Casters are...longer lived than Mortals, though, and being that she ages more slowly, most would probably peg her as being younger than she actually is?
Her faceclaim, Rachel Weisz, is like forty - but looks a lot younger than that, so I thought that sort of fit.
3. Describe her posture. Does she carry herself well or does she slouch? She's very....proud, and will oftentimes carry herself with an upright, haughty sort of dignity. But she's by no means stuffy - her playful, unconcerned attitude means that her good posture is not constantly enforced.
4. How is her health? Is she fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities? She is...like I said, probably a bit undernourished, especially considering the canon point I took her from. She doesn't look altogether sane, either - but we'll get to that later.
5. How does she move? Is she clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid? Very languid and playful, slinking and sauntering around like a wolf circling its prey - and yet she's pretty graceful, at the same time. Her movements are usually very smooth.
6. How attractive is this character physically? How does she perceive herself in the mirror? She was very beautiful at one point, but now her fearsome, feral Dark Caster look kinda overtakes that. She's described in the books as looking a lot like Lena, except for the eyes - but the eyes make all the difference.
As for how she perceives herself, she's quite confident and probably a little vain, but I don't think she dwells much on physical appearances. I would think that even a Dark Caster as far-gone as Sarafine would have difficulty staring down her reflection for too long. I don't think those otherworldly yellow eyes ever really start to feel familiar.
7. Describe her complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred? Very pale. A few burn scars here and there, though, from her early days of experimenting with her abilities - when she first developed her fascination with fire, sometimes she would forget not to get too close.
8. Describe her hair: color, texture, style. Sleek, yet often wild and disheveled, black curls - again, very witchy. It's thick and fairly long, too, nearly reaching her waist. Also surprisingly, disarmingly soft? Not that you'd ever get close enough to touch.
9. What color are her eyes? green :]
No but um, she's a Dark Caster. So that means eerie, disconcerting yellow eyes that ~PIERCE YOUR VERY SOUL~ :OOOO
10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features? I dooon't think so. Her eyes are definitely her most distinctive trait.
11. What are her chief tension centers? Sarafine is very rarely tense. Like, seriously. ..But when she is, she clenches her jaw quite tightly, squares her shoulders, and stiffens her arms at her sides. She just kind of goes very still.
12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does she have six of the same suit? She just kind of. Um. Completely rejects the concept of 'blending in' with Mortals because eewww gross. She's most frequently seen in traditional Caster wear - which often means Southern Gothic dresses and gowns, long gloves, lots of black - jeez Sarafine, and you get mad when people use the term 'witch'.
13. Do her clothes fit well? Does she seem comfortable in them? Yes. But then, she seems comfortable in just about anything. 'Comfortable' is her normal state of being.
14. Does she dress the same on the job as she does in her free time? If not, what are the differences? well 'on the job' she usually dresses up as...mrs. lincoln :]
15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando? why don't you ask her. i dare you.
Speech 1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse? Just so...honey-coated. Like, even when she's threatening your life, she just sounds so cheery and bubbly, and with that overly sweet Southern accent to boot.
2. How does she normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does she talk easily, or does she hesitate? She speaks very easily - there's little that can make her hesitate. Both the speed and volume of her words are just kind of average? Varying depending on the situation.
3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics? dat southern drawl.
4. What language/s does she speak, and with how much fluency? Quite fluent in English and Niadic, the Caster language. Also knows some Latin and Celtic, because specific Casts are often written in those languages.
5. Does she switch languages or dialects in certain situations? Just when Casting, or completing some sort of ritual, usually. The other languages she knows aren't really widely spoken, after all.
6. Is she a good impromptu speaker, or does she have to think about her words? She is a fabulously insincere, manipulative, skilled impromptu speaker who most typically only pretends to pause and think about her words when she's acting as if she's emotionally affected by something.
7. Is she eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change? Seamlessly eloquent. Witty, smooth, and undaunted by...most circumstances. I'm not sure what it would take to make her inarticulate. Probably...a lot. I mean. Even when faced with her own death, she sure had a lot to say.
Mental and Emotional 1. How intelligent is this character? Is she book-smart or street-smart? Sooomewhat both? She was very book-smart, very good in school, when she was younger. And she's quite knowledgeable about Caster lore as well. At the same time, however, she's quite charismatic and resourceful and excellent at dealing with and manipulating people.
2. Does she think on her feet, or does she need time to deliberate? She's a planner, but that doesn't mean she's incapable of thinking on her feet. But for her, 'thinking on her feet' most typically means 'setting everything on fire and hoping someone dies', so.
3. Describe the character's thought process. Is she more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical? Her thought process is typically all very cold and logical and practical, being that her emotions influence her decisions far less prominently than they typically do most people's? But then, at the same time, she has those Dark Caster instincts constantly gnawing away at her - it's especially bad for Naturals, once they turn Dark and become Cataclysts. Instincts that manifest as voices in her head telling her to burn stuff? ..Yeah, it's that bad.
4. What kind of education has the character had? Her family doesn't typically associate with Mortals much, so um. Nooo public school for her. I suppose she must have been home-schooled, like many in her family are - probably by her mother. But what she was taught regarding how to use her abilities and dark magic in general mostly came from Abraham.
5. What are her areas of expertise? What, if anything, is she interested in learning more about? Caster lore and magic are her definite areas of expertise. Assuming you can actually get her to sit down and listen to her questions, she's kind of a walking encyclopedia on that stuff. Here on AM, she's quite keen to learn more about the types of magic - or magical or otherwise nonhuman beings - that exist here.
6. Is she an introvert or an extrovert? Sort of...depends on how you look at it? She presents herself as being very friendly and engaging, and she's not at all shy, but she interacts with people out of necessity. Whether to gain information or manipulate them or just to get close enough to stab them in the back. She doesn't do it because she enjoys socializing - she's in all actuality, pretty indifferent to having company.
7. Describe the character's temperament. Is she even-tempered or does she have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven? Cheerful, laid-back, unfazed, playfully sadistic - just doesn't seem to take anything or anyone seriously. Of course, she's actively choosing this demeanor over the typical 'DARK, SILENT, AND MENACING' Dark Caster thing because...it's more fun? If she just showed herself as being the emotionally blank crazy bitch she is, that wouldn't be even half as interesting~
8. How does she respond to new people or situations? Is she suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic? Depends on the person. If you're intriguing, or something she's never encountered before, or anyone who looks like they could potentially be useful, she'll turn on the charm and probably try to come off as very warm and bubbly and sweet. If you strike her as being...immediately annoying (most humans fall here) and there's no one around to catch her, she may just instantly skip to the 'trying to kill you' part.
She's actually very distrusting of...well, it wouldn't be fair to say only new people - she's learned to expect betrayal from everyone. can you really trust anyone? :]
9. Is she more likely to act, or to react? Act, most likely, as long as she's certain she has the advantage.
10. Which is her default: fight or flight? Fight. She doesn't fear much. except jackie tyler
11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does she appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks? Very dark, morbid, or politically incorrect humor, a lot of the time - she really likes getting a shock out of people (movie!sarafine just casually waltzed around a church, dabbing holy water behind her ears like perfume), and her humor involves a lot of mockery as well.
12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does she deal with them? Going Dark is like...a mental disorder all it's own. It causes a complete, abnormal shift in behavior and thinking patterns - you could, in many ways, compare a Dark Caster to a sociopath due to their superficial emotions, lack of remorse, and compulsive urges to manipulate and hurt people.
Sarafine is a special kind of crazy, though, even for a Dark Caster. For a Natural, the Claiming is described as being particularly intense, aaand since she went Dark...that means her mental state is kind of a hot mess. She hears voices in her head, for crying out loud. Even if she wanted to, she'd probably be helpless to control or reform herself at this point.
13. What moments in this character's life have defined her as a person? Meeting John - She was originally completely, utterly in love with him. Of course meeting him changed her life. If it weren't for him, she wouldn't have had any reason to fight going Dark as long as she did, and she wouldn't have had Lena, and obviously everything would be completely different.
Her Claiming - This is, of course, a life-altering moment for any Caster - particularly those in her family, who don't get to choose what they're Claimed as. Turning Dark led to her family disowning her, and it started off that slow, painful descent into madness that followed over the next several years. No matter what actions she took afterwards, it's doubtful that she would have been able to fight the change her Claiming brought over her forever.
Meeting Abraham - Um. Yeah. Sarafine may have been losing herself after she turned, but Abraham absolutely sped up the process by manipulating her, encouraging her to use her abilities frequently, and indirectly ensuring that she lost everyone she loved.
Having Lena - I think becoming a mother both helped and hurt her. Lena gave her someone to fight for, when she was becoming more and more distant from John. Lena made her realize she was still capable of feeling love. On the other hand, becoming a mother also made her desperate - trying to find a way to save Lena from the curse was what blinded her to Abraham's manipulation so completely. Hell, John threatening to take Lena away from her was what caused her to finally snap.
Killing John - This was the moment when Sarafine just...lost herself. The point of no return. The day she turned completely, unquestionably dark.
Dying - YES DYING WAS A DEFINING MOMENT OF HER LIFE :]. In a strange way, it did open her up to a lot of emotions she hadn't felt in quite some time - fear, desperation, even kind of...sadness, in last-minute realization of exactly what she'd become and what was happening to her because of it.
Saving Ethan - Let's face it - she was blind, she was miserable, she was literally a ghost of her former self. She didn't have much to 'live' for (she was technically dead at the time, but you know what i mean). On top of all that, she hated Angelus, possibly more than she's ever hated anyone - and just wanted Ethan to be allowed the chance to kill him as revenge. But Ethan later suspects that her actions might not have solely been about hatred and vengeance - that he reached a small part of her while talking about how badly he wanted to get back to Lena - and he may have been right. Regardless of why she did it, or why she believes she did it, though, giving your life (or in this case, soul) for someone is an experience that changes you.
too bad her memories of that are currently nice and repressed :]
14. What does she fear? Not much, honestly. Fear, even when she does experience it, is a dulled emotion for her. And what does she have to be afraid of? She doesn't fear for other people, because actual emotional attachments are...rarely a thing for her. She doesn't even fear for herself because she's so cocky and laid back and indifferent to everything - I don't even think she'd fear death until she was faced with it.
And yeah. Having experienced a rather unpleasant afterlife, I think she would fear ending up back there again.
15. What are her hopes or aspirations? TO DESTROY ALL THE HUMANS NBD :]
16. What is something she doesn't want anyone to find out about her? I guess probably what happened to her after she died?? I think she finds it very...degrading, that she was tortured like that by a Mortal and powerless to stop it. Major blow to her pride, there. She won't be talking about that any time soon.
Relationships 1. Describe this character's relationship with her parents. She actually didn't even know her dad really because wow Silas you were the shadiest person running off and helping Abraham raise John Breed like what were you even doing.
She was significantly closer to her mother, Emmaline. However, after she turned Dark, Emmaline legitimately...really harshly disowned her and threw her out and told her never to come back and um emmaline pls.
2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like? Delphine is her older sister. And it was implied that they used to be pretty close - Del actually fought for Sarafine when their mother kicked her out, and I think she was someone Sarafine (or Izabel, rather) just adored at one point?? I'm not sure how Sarafine would feel about her now. She probably just lumps her in with the rest of the family that turned their backs on her. sarafine pls.
She also has three 2SPOOKY INCUBUS half-siblings. Macon - and their relationship is just...completely antagonistic and consisting mostly of classy-but-icy snarking on Macon's part and ridiculous taunting on Sarafine's. And then there's Hunting, who helped Abraham manipulate her ~BACK IN THE DAY~. I don't think Sarafine really cares much one way or the other about Hunting. Aaand Leah. Sarafine never really got to get to know her much, bUT SHE SIDES WITH THE LIGHT CASTERS SO EW.
3. Are there other blood relatives to whom she is close? Are there ones she can't stand? TRY THE REST OF THE FAMILY IN ITS ENTIRETY. The only ones she ever tolerated were the other Dark Casters. And um. Most of them have scattered. And Larkin is dead and Ridley is TRYIN 2 BE REDEEM so pffft fak u family.
4. Are there other, unrelated people whom she considers part of her family? What are her relationships with them? pfffft she barely considers her family her family.
5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet? macon :] :] :] :] :] :]
6. Does she have other close friends? SHE HAS NO FRIENDS, GOD.
I guess the person she's 'closest' to is Abraham, in the sense that...well. He's the only person she has. Which creates some terribly unhealthy dependent stuff and...you know, he's even more horrible than she is. And he doesn't give a shit about her. sarafine pls. wake up and smell the coffee.
7. Does she make friends easily, or does she have trouble getting along with people? does she have trouble getting along with people
does she have trouble getting along with people
NOT AT ALL SHE'S PERFECTLY FRIENDLY. SHE JUST, YOU KNOW. KILLS THEM ONCE SHE DECIDES SHE'S TIRED OF THEM.
8. Which does she consider more important: family or friends? Ew, neither. >|
9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has she been married more than once? ...Widowed. She killed her own husband ahahaha wow sarafeen you aren't screwed up at all.
10. Is she currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse? NOPE :]
11. Who was her first crush? Who is her latest? John Eades was the first person she ever fell in love with - and it was the whole big, epic, star-crossed first love kinda thing - and it's horrible because he tried so hard to stand by her even after her Claiming, and she tried so hard to cling to who she used to be for him, but it...yeah. It didn't work out. And I really don't see her falling in love again ahahahaha.
12. What does she look for in a romantic partner? Why would she even want one LOVE IS WEAKNESS.
13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does she relate to them? If no, does she want any? omg her n' her daughter leenah have da best relationship itz trooly touching
No actually their relationship is horrendous, considering Sarafine tried to force Lena to turn Dark and then just...tried to kill her when that didn't happen. I don't think she even has much interest in Lena beyond 'I COULD USE U 4 UR POWER >DDD' as of now, which is...sad, considering how much she loved her at one point. I think a part of her does still wish that things could be different - considering that she is shown to be generally bitter over Macon raising Lena, and considering what she did for Ethan - but just...how can someone like Sarafine even be a good mother?
OH AND THEN THERE'S SELIM :] :] :]. This...freakishly fantastic adoption just kind of happened, and Chrome and I still aren't really sure how it did. But it's wonderful, and it's only going to lead to horrible horrible things, I'm sure. Because these two are both so horribly manipulative and not at all what they appear to be and kind of using each other for their own gain, how could anything possibly go wrong??
14. Does she have any rivals or enemies? FAK U LENA AND ETHAN AND MACON AND RIDLEY AND LINK AND THE WHOLE FUCKING DUCHANNES FAMILY BASICALLY PLUS AMMA AND MARIAN AND ETHAN'S MOM AND LIKE PRETTY MUCH EVERY HUMAN EVER AND ALSO ANGELUS WOW WHAT A DICK AND GENEVIEVE.
also Team TARDIS 2.0 because she's the main villain of the first season. sarafine will fall :]
15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does she fall on the Kinsey scale? Heterosexual.
16. How does she feel about sex? How important is it to her? I very much doubt that it's been a thing since her husband. I mean, it's just. Not something she'd be able to do with a Mortal without, you know, killing them. And even she's not that messed up. As for the non-mortals, you're cool and all but Sarafine does not want your physical intimacy, go away.
17. What are her turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits? 'turn-ons' and 'turn-offs' would suggest that someone would ever faze her enough to do either :]
Beliefs 1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does she fit type? I wanted to choose a zodiac for her that's associated with the element of fire, and out of the three that are...Aries fits her best, I suppose?Aries are outgoing, assertive, and very forthright and forceful - even aggressive. They like to do things just to make a splash, but at the same time they're very...naive. And I think that reflects Izabel's desperate belief that she could fight going dark forever.
Also it said that due to their forceful nature, they sometimes have difficulty with their romantic relationships, and I was just like ':]'.
2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in her life? She doesn't think too much of religion, clearly. I mean, Casters have their own set of beliefs and whatnot, but I don't even think Sarafine even cared much for them up until she actually...died. Now, I guess the idea of what happens after death kinda spooks her a bit, but....idk. She remains outwardly indifferent, at least.
3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it? LOL NOT REALLY SHE'S A DARK CASTER WHAT ARE MORALS. There's probably not much Sarafine wouldn't do to achieve her goals. Goals that...basically involve genocide. Yeah.
4. How does she regard beliefs that differ from hers? Is she tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent? With...mild disdain, mostly. She can be quite condescending towards people with beliefs or values that differ from her own.
But if you think that's bad, you should have seen her as Mrs. Lincoln.
5. What prejudices does she hold? Are they irrational or does she have a good reason for them? HAHAHAHA WELL.
Sarafine harbors a very intense hatred for Mortals - humans, basically. This started out as a sort of basic distrust (growing up as a Caster surrounded by humans is kind of difficult? people tend to whisper and point and call you a devil worshiper and whatnot) and was morphed and twisted into disdain and loathing by Abraham Ravenwood, who drilled it into her head that Mortals are little more than pests that need to be exterminated. She's very resentful of them, honestly. Even envious. Because let's be real here - even with all the special snowflakes running around AM, they're vastly outnumbered by billions of humans. Which has forced...and still forces...generations of Casters into hiding, something that Sarafine's hated her entire life. She also believes Mortals have a pretty strong tendency to just fuck everything up like the idiots they are, a belief that was only strengthened by Angelus' treatment of her.
Because let's be real here. This guy was a human, going around trying to collect Caster abilities. Sarafine was just one of many Casters he performed horrific experiments on in the process. And then he kind of blinded her and chained her to a wall of human bones, so um, yeah, ANGELUS WAS NOT WINNING BIG POINTS FOR HUMANITY WITH SARAFINE, GUYS.
On a...slightly less horrible note, she does seem to vaguely value non-human life? I mean, to the extent that she doesn't like to see power and potential wasted. So if you aren't a Mortal, cheer up! She probably won't kill you! Unless you get in her way. Or piss her off. Or refuse to give her what she wants. Or you happen to be connected to one of her enemies. Oops.
Daily Life 1. What is the character's financial situation? Is she rich, poor, comfortable, in debt? The Duchannes family is pretty well-off financially, but um. Given that her mom was like "GET THE HELL OUT OF MY HOUSE IN JESUS' NAME AH PRAY" when she turned Dark, Sarafine ran away with her boyfriend, John, at age sixteen. And two teenagers who run away together aren't typically...the most successful. Now, though, money hardly matters to her. If she wants something...she'll get it. :]
2. What is her social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected her? what are you even talking about she's not even really part of society she's a SHADY VILLAINOUS VILLAIN WHO LURKS IN THE SHADOWS
3. Where does she live? House, apartment, trailer? Is her home her castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does she share it with others? I guess she just chills at Abraham's mansion-y place with Hunting and John Breed and all the other 2spooky villains. That's probably the only place she had left to go after she killed her husband? best roommates :] it's like a really messed up version of 'Friends'.
4. Besides the basic necessities, what does she spend her money on? What would she even want omfg.
5. What does she do for a living? Is she good at it? Does she enjoy it, or would she rather be doing something else? She's an...all-powerful villain for a living I guess. AND SHE'S SUPER GOOD AT IT :]. And just generally has way too much fun.
6. What are her interests or hobbies? How does she spend her free time? She devotes most of her time to ~THE DARK ARTS~ and intense studying and weird rituals. Oh, and like. Burning things. Like the pyromaniac she is :]. No but um, fun fact - she used to want to be a writer?
she could totally write about her caster family
and then everyone would be like 'oh wow what a cool work of fiction'
and she'd just be like ':]'
plot twist: sarafine is the author of the caster chronicles No but um, my headcanon is that in rare moments of normalcy, she does still sit down and write things? Not that they make much sense anymore.
7. What are her eating habits? Does she skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods? SHE CAN MAKE BROWNIES :] :] :]
I think Sarafine must be so disdainful about, like, 90% of the things Mortals eat. She probably only likes weird Caster food like the kind that shows up on the Ravenwood dinner table all the time. i mean can you imagine if you just saw her at like, applebees?
Associations Which of the following do you associate with the character, or which is her favorite:
1. Color? Black. 2. Smell? Burning wood. Campfires! Roasted marshmallows! Arson! 8D 3. Time of day? Night. 4. Season? Uuuum. Either winter or summer. Which sounds vaguely contradictory but. 5. Book? the book of moons!!!! 6. Music? this 7. Place? DA CASTER TUNNELS 8. Substance? selenium :] 9. Plant? you are my rose you are my rose you are my rose 10. Animal? A...spider. :] wow i took this whole last section so seriously

Post by Eponine Thenardier on Feb 19, 2013 9:42:53 GMT -5
Body and Appearance 1. Describe the character's height and build. Is she heavyset, thin, short, rangy? Eponine is actually quite tall for a girl her age, standing at an even 5'7". And now that she's had a chance to recover from her previous emaciation, her thin figure is much healthier, though if you look closely, you'll see that she's still just a little too thin for comfort.
2. How old is she? Eighteen.
3. Describe her posture. Does she carry herself well or does she slouch? She's been trying to do what Regina told her and hold herself with a little more confidence, but after a life of degradation and having everything try to kill her here on AM, she's just more apt to hold herself in a more defensive and wary position. Because that's what she's used to.
4. How is her health? Is she fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities? When she first arrived on AM, Eponine's health was definitely not the best. While her immune system did build up against the diseases that were around in 18th century Paris, she was still severely malnourished and maybe a little sleep-deprived. Now that she's had a chance to gain some weight back and be able to eat three meals a day and sleep as long as she needs to, her health has, in that respect, improved.
5. How does she move? Is she clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid? Eponine doesn't walk, she slinks and creeps and generally moves in a way that attracts the least amount of attention possible. For her, walking down the street is keeping to the shadows, moving silently and maybe ducking into an alleyway or two to get away from any crowds when she doesn't want to try and steal what's in their pockets. I guess you could call it graceful in some strange way, thought it's sort of a natural grace, rather than a learned one.
6. How attractive is this character physically? How does she perceive herself in the mirror? In actuality, Eponine is a rather pretty girl, especially now that she's filled out and doesn't look like a particularly strong gust of wind will blow her right over. However, she's had almost every person in her life (or, her life back in Paris at least, minus Marius, Azelma and Gavroche) say straight up to her face that she's ugly. And while that upset her at the time, she's sort of just come to accept it by now. She's really only just starting to realize that she's more attractive than she originally thought.
7. Describe her complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred? Tan, from being constantly outdoors for so long, but clear. It's sort of a weak spot in her self-esteem, because gosh ladies are supposed to be pale.
8. Describe her hair: color, texture, style. Now that she has the means to keep it clean after it was dirty and tangled and gross for ten years, Eponine actually takes really good care of her hair. It's pretty long and just a little choppy if you look closely (in the summer, she had to kind of hack at it with a knife to keep it from getting too long and too hot). It's silky and smooth to the touch and don't tell anyone, but she really loves it when Marius strokes it. That feels nice.
9. What color are her eyes? Brown.
10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features? There's a rather large scar on her chest from where the bullet hit, but Marius is the only person that's ever seen it. Any other time, she keeps it covered by her clothing.
11. What are her chief tension centers? Shoulders.
12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does she have six of the same suit? Most of Eponine's clothing is chosen for practicality. She does have a bad habit of seeing certain pieces of clothing and going "ooo, that's pretty" and snatching it up if she has the money (which she normally does, becaues Gant just sort of gives her money if she asks for it), but her normal wardrobe is a lot of long skirts and thick, warm, soft tops. Her color palette is normally browns and blacks and whites, neutral colors that won't attract too much attention. She does, however, have a few pretty gowns and brightly colored pieces of clothing tucked away at the back of her closet for when she's feeling confident enough to wear them.
13. Do her clothes fit well? Does she seem comfortable in them? Sort of? When it comes to her normal, daily outfit, Eponine's adjusted to modern clothing well enough. But if you want to stick her in a short skirt or something brightly-colored or revealing, then she's going to be a lot more uncomfortable. Especially due to the fact that a lot of women that were in her situation and wore clothes like that were whores, and she's been mistaken for one in Paris numerous occasions. And promptly gave whoever it was a slap and fled the scene, but that's beside the point.
14. Does she dress the same on the job as she does in her free time? If not, what are the differences? Eponine's job is sort of a maid around Gant's mansion, so not really? If she's doing something that might get her particularly dirty, she certainly won't wear anything nice, but apart from that, there's not much difference.
15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando? :]
Speech 1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse? Eponine's voice is average enough. It's a little lower than she'd like, but there's enough feminity to keep it from sounding unattractive. Umm, here's her actress talking?
2. How does she normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does she talk easily, or does she hesitate? Unless she's got a point to make or she's comfortable with someone, Eponine is usually very quiet and very formal in her way of speaking. She's careful not to slip into argot (French street slang) around anyone, and she wants to make a little bit of an impression. A street rat she may have been, but no one can tell Eponine she can't speak properly. If she's more comfortable with someone, she gets a little bit less formal, dropping the 'madame' or 'mademoiselle' or 'monsieur' and opening up just a tiny bit more.
3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics? Eponine is French, and therefore has something of an accent. It's more pronounced when she's speaking English, and she's aware that it makes her stand out.
4. What language/s does she speak, and with how much fluency? I guess due to the magic of AM, Eponine can speak English now? And French, of course, is her first langauge.
5. Does she switch languages or dialects in certain situations? If she gets way too worked up, she might slip into French and sometimes if she just wants to curse someone out, she'll do so in a language they won't understand.
6. Is she a good impromptu speaker, or does she have to think about her words? She's good with impromptu, usually. In Paris, time taken to think about words was time wasted that could have been spent helping herself and her sister to survive, so she isn't really one to pause and think things through.
7. Is she eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change? She tries really hard to be eloquent, especially around people who she thinks are going to judge her for is/was. Proving to them that she's more than just another piece of street trash is sort of important to her, even if she isn't too sure if she is or isn't herself. People don't need to know that she's insecure, and maybe if she can prove to someone that she can be more, she'll prove it to herself too.
Mental and Emotional 1. How intelligent is this character? Is she book-smart or street-smart? Eponine isn't the most book-smart of people. She can read and write, but anything too complicated makes her head spin. She's a lot better with street-smarts, and when it comes to that, you'll find Eponine's actually quite clever. If she were given the opportunity to learn, one would find that she picks things up very quickly and would've been an extremely intelligent young lady, had her life not taken the turn that it did.
2. Does she think on her feet, or does she need time to deliberate? Eponine is a master of thinking on her feet. She had to be, to get by in the streets of Paris.
3. Describe the character's thought process. Is she more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical? It's sort of hard to tell. Normally, Eponine is practical and logical to the extreme level of cynicism. Her life hasn't been easy and her thought process often reflects that, but at times, she can be idealistic too. She had her fantasies at home, after all, and maybe for just a brief time, thought Marius would maybe come to love her one day. She's not above using her daydreams to escape from her life for a little while, but at the end of the day, she knows they can't ever be real.
4. What kind of education has the character had? Very basic. Eponine was eight years old when her education ended, and her parents weren't too concerned with educating her and Azelma in the first place. She knows how to read and write, and her reading level is probably on-par with your average fifth-grader.
5. What are her areas of expertise? What, if anything, is she interested in learning more about? Hm. She doesn't really have one, unless you want to count pickpocketing and stealing. But learning more, yes. Eponine wants to learn everything she can, she wants to be intelligent and able to impress people with her knowledge. Learning how to read better is probably a good start for her, she's just too embarassed to really ask anyone about it.
6. Is she an introvert or an extrovert? Introvert, especially here on AM where everything has been trying to kill her. She was actually quite an extrovert when she was younger, but living the life she did has made her a lot more wary of people in general.
7. Describe the character's temperament. Is she even-tempered or does she have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven? Oh god, I don't have any idea how most people put up with Eponine. She's actually quite a depressive and melancholy presence most of the time, unless Marius is around. It's not really her fault though, she's just slowly learning how to actually be happy. Happiness is such a new and different feeling to her that she's even uncomfortable with it sometimes. It's so much easier to just be sad and cynical, because that's all she's really ever known. Due to this, it's sort of hard to really provoke her. You'd have to go after Marius or one of her friends for that.
8. How does she respond to new people or situations? Is she suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic? Around AM, Eponine is horribly wary of new people, mostly because she's had experience with new people trying to kill her whenever she'd try to say hello. But, if they're kind enough to her, she'll warm up to them quickly, especially if they have food or something to offer her.
9. Is she more likely to act, or to react? React.
10. Which is her default: fight or flight? It depends. If Eponine thinks she can take them and they've given her reason to want to go after them? She'll shank that bitch. Unfortunately, on AM, that's not usually the situation and she's definitely going to run for it.
11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does she appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks? lol what is humor. Eponine hasn't had much cause to have any kind of sense of humor in her life, but she does sort of have one. It's really, really sarcastic and cynical most of the time, and you'd be hard-pressed to actually make her laugh. Most of the time, humor is just confusing to her.
12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does she deal with them? For the most part, Eponine has a clean bill of mental health. She's just had a lot of shit happen to her that's the cause of her way of thinking.
13. What moments in this character's life have defined her as a person? Really, the biggest one would have to be her few first days living on the streets. She was so entirely unaccustomed to anything but the relative luxury of the inn, and going without food and shelter at the age of eight and with no help from her parents was terrifying. Those first days were the ones that hardened her and taught her how to live the life she would for the next ten years.
14. What does she fear? Eponine's fears are a lot more basic than many others. She fears being tossed out of Gant's mansion at some point and that she'll have gone too soft to survive like she did in the past. Losing Marius is pretty high on the list too, but that's something she's prepared herself for, because in her mind, he'll inevitabley want to leave her. Who in their right mind would want to stay? And, on a smaller scale, she fears hunger and cold and having to experience both again.
15. What are her hopes or aspirations? She wants to learn. At some point, now that she's got the resources, Eponine wants to be able to completely abandon her past and maybe be a little more refined. Really, she just wants to be happy, and she's slowly learning how to do so again.
16. What is something she doesn't want anyone to find out about her? Recently, with people she's never met before, Eponine wants to keep her previous social class as private as she can. She wants them to at least think that she belongs in this world she's been thrust into.
Relationships 1. Describe this character's relationship with her parents. hahaha fak u thenardiers. Eponine feels absolutely nothing when it comes to her parents, besides hatred and resentment. They were the ones that raised her to believe she was going to be a lady and have a wonderful, comfortable life and then wouldn't even help her when their lives took a turn for the worse. Quite the opposite, her father was very close in attempting to make Eponine prostitute herself in order to earn more money for them. So yeah. She has no love for them.
2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like? Eponine has a sister, Azelma, and a brother, Gavroche. She also, unknowingly, has two younger brothers that were given to a rich women when they and she were very young. At present, Eponine is closest to Azelma, who never really did adjust to life on the streets. Eponine took care of her for the most part, since she couldn't do it herself, and Azelma is probably the only one left that Eponine still refers to as family.
Gavroche sort of takes care of himself. Eponine didn't worry too much about him, though at times, she'd slip him a coin or a bit of bread, just to make sure he could stay alive. She likes him, but she respects that he doesn't want to be taken care of or coddled.
3. Are there other blood relatives to whom she is close? Are there ones she can't stand? Nope.
4. Are there other, unrelated people whom she considers part of her family? What are her relationships with them? Umm. Marius, definitely, but the explanation for Eponine's relationship with him is being saved for question 10, so. No one else really.
5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet? Again, prooobably Marius. See question 10.
6. Does she have other close friends?
All of Meek's characters. Yes, actually! Which is surprising, seeing as she's usually Little Miss Anti-Social in the ICC. But, she has a few people that she's warmed up to considerably.
Anya is probably the first person on the list. She was the first person Eponine met on AM, and she was the one to offer her and Marius a place to stay and protected her from Hazama on a few occasions, so. Yeah. Definitely a friend of Eponine's, even if they haven't seen each other in a long time.
Regina. Eponine's relationship with Regina was...um...not the best when they first met, because Regina was still season one!Regina and therefore just kinda trolled the hell out of her for kicks. Eponine was afraid of her for a long time because omg she's a queen and i'm a street rat she probably thinks i'm dirt and maybe i am. Plus she had magic and wanted to use it maliciously so. But. Recently, Regina's gone through her ~changes~ in wanting to redeem herself, and apologized to Eponine. And while that confused her, Eponine was willing to accept because hahaha why would a queen apologize to someone like her? Eponine started to warm up to her a little after that, and it's sort of nice to have a maternal-ish presence in her life since her own mother was a total bitch.
Morgana. omg another person who thinks modern things are confusing thank god. No, but really. Eponine was intimidated by Morgana at first because omg rich nobility why would they want to talk to me, but after learning her secret and keeping it, as well as defending her from Arthur and a random string of events, Eponine sort of grew a little closer to her. Close enough for Morgana to give Eponine a bracelet that would shield her from magic, which is nice. Suffice to say, Eponine is definitely friendly enough towards her, and even went so far as to entrust Marius' well-being and safety with Morgana. So yeah. Mithos. i mean come on he makes the fire bigger for her all the time he's the coolest person. No, but really. Eponine likes Mithos, especially since he knows what it's like to have been in her position. There aren't many people on AM who can say the same, and she likes that at least there's someone out there who understands what it's like to be homeless and literally have to scrounge for food and the basic necessities of life.
7. Does she make friends easily, or does she have trouble getting along with people? Well, it's not that she doesn't want to make friends, she just...doesn't really know how to. That and her immediate reaction to most people on AM is wariness or fear.
8. Which does she consider more important: family or friends? hahaha family sucks. Friends all the way.
9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has she been married more than once? Eponine's never been married, but at the moment, I guess you could say she's in a relationship with Marius.
10. Is she currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse? Yes! Eponine has been in a relationship with Marius for almost a year now and oh god, does she love him. Unfortunately, she's still confused about why the hell he would love her in return, and has a constant fear of being abandoned by him. Which she really needs to get over. Seriously. but she just loves him so much, and he's the first good thing in her life for so long. And good things in her life really never last, so on an unconsious level, Eponine thinks that it's inevitable that he be taken away from her.
11. Who was her first crush? Who is her latest? Marius. For both.
12. What does she look for in a romantic partner? MARIUS. Okay, but really. The reason Eponine adores Marius so much is that he's so different from all the other men in her life. Before coming to AM, the only other males Eponine encoutered were her father and the Patron-Minette, all of whom were varying levels of abusive and cruel towards her. And Marius is just the total opposite of that.
Eponine needs, or rather, wants is someone kind. Someone who can totally look past her flaws and her previous social class and love her no matter what. And gentle, oh god this one's important. She doesn't really have a high criteria apart from that, she just wants someone who will be kind and sweet and gentle and treat her right, no matter what her past was.
13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does she relate to them? If no, does she want any? Nope, no kids.
14. Does she have any rivals or enemies? Umm, I guess you could count Cosette as a rival? Really, it's more of a foil, though, so maybe not.
15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does she fall on the Kinsey scale? Eponine's pretty heterosexual? I dunno, we've never seen her go after a girl, but maybe if one expressed interest and was kind to her, maybe she'd reconsider?
16. How does she feel about sex? How important is it to her? For Eponine, sex is kind of a thing that happens. She has no realy thoughts towards it besides being abhorred at being forced to participate unwillingly and sell her body. Her virginity is sort of the last thing she has to connect her to the time when she was happy and pure and rich, which was why she ran when her father tried to force her into prostitution.
17. What are her turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits? :]
Beliefs 1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does she fit type? Eponine is headcanonly a Scorpio, which are known for being sort of aloof and cold and shy on the outside, but have a lot more passion and FEELINGS underneath. Which sounds like a dumb Mary Sue description but. It really does fit Eponine, who hides a lot of what she feels under a protective sheild of the toughness she's had to have in order to survive what her life has been.
2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in her life? Neither. Because wow God must be an asshole to make all this happen to her when she didn't even do anything.
3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it? Ahaha, morals. Eponine's morals are actually really...loose. She does what she has to do to survive. Stealing is totally not beneath her, and even begging is something she'll do if she absolutely has to. Growing up with parents like the Thenardiers hasn't really helped either, so suffice to say, Eponine has significantly less morals than most people.
4. How does she regard beliefs that differ from hers? Is she tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent? Totally indifferent. Why should she care what other people believe?
5. What prejudices does she hold? Are they irrational or does she have a good reason for them? Um. Well. Eponine really tries hard not to be prejudiced, since a lot of the people in Paris were so towards the poor and basically just ignored them and their plight or else just gave them things out of pity, but the fact of the matter remains that she does have a slight aversion to people of high class. This is mostly because people of high class at home were at best indifferent towards her and at worst, downright cruel. She also holds a lot of jealousy towards females of high class, because dammit, she was supposed to be like them.
Daily Life 1. What is the character's financial situation? Is she rich, poor, comfortable, in debt? At present, Eponine wants for nothing and has a steady income of money from working for Gant. Oh, and she totally lives in a mansion, so.
Previously, though, she was poorer than dirt poor. Eponine literally had nothing after she ran away from her parents, and even before that, all they had was a dirty, one-room apartment with minimal furniture (and even that was broken) and little to no money.
2. What is her social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected her? Well, in Paris she was the lowest of the low in terms of poverty, but right now on AM, she's...higher middle-class, I guess? I hesitate to say upper class because she's sort of a servant to Gant, but she has a job and food and money and a place to stay, so it's definitely an improvement.
3. Where does she live? House, apartment, trailer? Is her home her castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does she share it with others? GANT'S MANSION AW YEAH. She has a few rooms there that she and Marius share, which is comprised of a bedroom, a little sitting room just off that, a bathroom for each of them and a little kitchen area. They, of course, have free run of the mansion, but those rooms specifically belong to them.
And Eponine just loves it. After ten years of not really having anywhere to call home, to have such a beautiful place to live in is nothing short of miraculous. Though she was initially uncomfortable with staying somewhere so fancy, it was easy to make herself at home after a few days, especially with Marius there to stay with her and make her more at ease. As for people she lives with, there's Gant, obviously, the rest of the staff, Fantine and Cosette, and Enjolras. Oh, and FROST JACK :] who occasionally crashes there because Eponine invited him. And Marius, of course, who shares her rooms.
4. Besides the basic necessities, what does she spend her money on? Now that she has money to spend, Eponine really isn't sure what the hell to do with it. It's actually kinda overwhelming sometimes, so she isn't really a big spender. But, occasionally, she'll splurge and go out to buy things. And then it's mostly clothes. She loves clothes.
5. What does she do for a living? Is she good at it? Does she enjoy it, or would she rather be doing something else? Eponine is sort of an all-purpose servant in Gant's household. Which means she does a lot of cleaning up around the mansion, and she enjoys it well enough. I mean, she's not like, BEGGING for another job or anything, and the work suits her. Maybe what she's got isn't quite the lifestyle she envied so in Paris, but it's definitely an improvement on before she came to AM.
6. What are her interests or hobbies? How does she spend her free time? Um. Eponine hasn't really had time to develop any real interests or hobbies. She sort of had to keep herself alive in Paris, which took up like 90% of her time. On AM, Eponine spends a lot of time either working or with Marius. She's a little wary of going anywhere with him yet, and isn't too sure about this whole dating concept, but she prefers spending an evening inside better anyway.
7. What are her eating habits? Does she skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods? ahaha. Okay, so Eponine is actually the biggest eater ever. After years and years of never having enough to eat (and even what she had wasn't the best quality, there were a few times when she kind of had to root around in people's dustbins for food), to have daily access to, like, the most insanely fancy food is amazing.
She's also kind of constantly hungry, so. If you offer her food, she will take it and probably be your best friend ever.
Associations Which of the following do you associate with the character, or which is her favorite:
1. Color? Brown. 2. Smell? what even is this question 3. Time of day? Early afternoon 4. Season? Spring 5. Book? lezz miserables :] 6. Music? Piano music 7. Place? One of her rooms has this bay window that overlooks the grounds and it's like her favorite place to sit. 8. Substance? gold :] 9. Plant? u r mah rose :] No, but seriously, the first chapter that she shows up in is called A Rose In Misery, so. 10. Animal? Arctic fox.

Body and Appearance1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy? Dense - not exactly compact due to his size (over 7 feet tall) and not at all heavy set due to his muscle to body ratio, but hitting him would be like punching a brick wall. 2. How old is he? Biologically, 27. 3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch? Upright - given his lifestyle, he more or less grew up in the military, even if he was a bit more relaxed about things than his comrades. 4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities? None - biologically speaking, he is in perfect health, and much better shape than the vast majority of the human race save for a number of scars. 5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid? Most of his motions tend to be fluid, quick and deliberate. 6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror? He doesn't, really - his mind just doesn't work that way, and he never stopped to consider it. 7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred? Unnaturally pale due to the time spent in his armor and out of sunlight, with a number of scars scattered over his body. 8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style. Brown, cut short but not quite a buzz cut - about as long as most military groups would allow. 9. What color are his eyes? Dark brown. 10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features? Aside from height, build and complexion, no. 11. What are his chief tension centers? Back of his neck, mostly. 12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit? Utilitarian, and mostly neutral colors. 13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them? In terms of his armor, yes. He'll feel comfortable if admittedly a bit exposed while in fatigues, but civilian clothing will feel just plain wrong to him. 14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences? When possible, yes. 15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando? Briefs. Speech1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse? Fairly normal considering his size, and much more mellow than many might expect. 2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate? He typically speaks easily and evenly, and tends to keep his emotions and voice separate. 3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics? A very slight accent maintained from his childhood on Harvest and from the time spent growing up alongside his siblings - mid western American, as a result of most of the colonists on Harvest having descended from that demographic. 4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency? English as his primary language, and with perfect fluency. While he has some trouble speaking them, he can understand a number of other UNSC colony languages as well, namely a number of Norse dialects in Reach's case as well as a few others. 5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations? No, unless it helps with communicating with someone. 6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words? He's generally fine with speaking off the top of his head. 7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change? Eloquent, unless angered. At that point he starts to get quiet. Mental and Emotional1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart? Very - much of it is innate, and was only improved upon by the schooling that the Spartan III program put its candidates through. 2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate? Nicholas is quick to think on his feet, but generally prefers to plan things out ahead of time so as to control as many variables as possible. 3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical? Logical and practical. While he is a bit of an idealist, he knows how the world works, and when things simply might not work out - that being said, however, he also knows how to make those same things work in his favor, and can be especially ruthless in pursuing his goals. 4. What kind of education has the character had? Several years of the usual formal education until he turned ten and was inducted into the Spartan III program, which furthered his education but at an increased pace, focusing on history, mathematics and military tactics and strategy. After being recovered as the sole survivor of Operation PROMETHEUS, Nicholas' education was furthered as he was transferred between ONI divisions over the subsequent years, with that secondary and graduation level education bolstered by training in Intelligence fields and procedures. 5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about? Combat, first and foremost, whether it be himself alone or commanding a group, and to the point that he can turn either one into a form of art. Second to that would be his abilities as an Intelligence operative. As far as what interests him, Nicholas is always looking for anything he can use, be it information or otherwise, and is like a sponge when it comes to picking things up. 6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert? Introvert, mostly, although with reason, most of which related to PTSD and other slightly sociopathic tendencies that the Spartan super soldiers were noted for. 7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven? Largely even tempered - it takes a lot to make him mad or upset unless very specific buttons are pressed. His mood otherwise doesn't tend to differ much from that, edging more towards the melancholic side - with the recent changes to his life, however, things could easily start shifting the other way with time. 8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic? Even parts relaxed and suspicious, usually, although the later tends to remain buried. For the most part, he simply tends to be professional. 9. Is he more likely to act, or to react? Largely, it depends on the situation. When given the choice, Nicholas will always choose to act rather than be forced to react. 10. Which is his default: fight or flight? Fight - he knows when to fold 'em and back off, however, and would always choose to fight another day if winning then and there isn't an option. 11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks? Dark, mostly - gallows humor, and what many might find mildly inappropriate at times. Aside from that, he's also a fan of rather dry wit. 12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them? A number of them - unsociable, untrusting, with a large amount of contained and barely directed anger at times, largely haunted by his past and not too keen to let people get emotionally close due to how many he's lost. While likely not the healthiest way to deal with it, he tends to bury it all by focusing on his job and the work it entails. 13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person? The destruction of Harvest and the loss of his parents as well as having to flee from a number of other colonies in similar fashions, being picked to participate in the Spartan III program as well as graduating it at the top of the "class", the participation in Operation PROMETHEUS and the loss of his entire remaining family as well as the rest of Alpha Company, numerous other conflicts across contested UNSC worlds and the fall of Reach, which was likely the death of the UNSC as well as the human species (at least to his knowledge). 14. What does he fear? Failure, above all else. In his mind it was his failures that cost him everything he had in the years previous, and it is likely to be what costs him more in the future. 15. What are his hopes or aspirations? To hopefully jumpstart the human race far enough ahead of time that they would be ready for whatever the future might bring, and that his life will have made the difference that it couldn't in his reality. 16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him? His past, by and large - with no one aboard the Basilisk aware of it save one, Nicholas is by and large going to attempt to finally put it behind him and start fresh. Relationships1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents. Nonexistant, as he was too young to truly remember them. 2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like? Two siblings, both deceased. By and large, very friendly, and rather competitive - something that all three of them knew and accepted, and simply used it to make things a challenge, enjoyable. 3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand? None. 4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them? Deceased, lost on K7-49 (an asteroid turned Covenant shipyard). Largely friendly, and for the most part a similar relationship to the one he had with his blood siblings. 5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet? N/A. 6. Does he have other close friends? N/A. 7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people? While he doesn't tend to have trouble getting along with people, per say, he doesn't make friends easily due to his temperament and state of mind - typically speaking, he simply doesn't let people into his life. 8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends? Generally speaking, to Nicholas there is little difference between the two. 9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once? Single - given his age and lifestyle, and of the other above would have been rather difficult. 10. Is he currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse? Nope. 11. Who was his first crush? Who is his latest? N/A. 12. What does he look for in a romantic partner? Not really known, as he hasn't viewed anyone in such a fashion yet, and given his current temperament it's rather unlikely he will. 13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does he relate to them? If no, does he want any?None of the above. 14. Does he have any rivals or enemies? Aside from the now nonexistant Covenant, not really - he simply tends to view anyone who gets in his way as an enemy, although the degree to which he does will tend to vary on the situation. 15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the Kinsey scale?Largely X (asexual), although given enough time and effort he may very well being edging towards a 0. 16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him? N/A. 17. What are his turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits? N/A. Beliefs1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does he fit type?Pisces in the western zodiac, and Yang Metal Monkey in the Chinese zodiac. Nicholas fits both to a degree, but largely Pisces - as mythology commonly assigns the aspect of mutability to the zodiac sign, it fits Nicholas in that he is largely adaptive, changing to fit whatever situation he is placed in, as well as the fact that the sign is commonly interpreted as one of misfortune. 2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life? While a small part spiritual due to being forced to cope with what he's lost, Nicholas is not at all particularly religious - by and large, neither particularly affect any areas of his life. 3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it? While Nicholas might have started with one early on, the toll that his life has taken on him as well as spending over a decade working for and within the notoriously unscrupulous Office of Naval Intelligence has forced Nicholas to live in a world that is morally gray. Incredibly ruthless even by his own account and not above backstabbing and betrayal of other parties to achieve his own goals, his old code of ethics only applies to those who he is emotionally attached to, which is yet another reason he avoids it - to avoid compromising his work. The only real rule he has held on to was one forced by the necessity of if in his reality - with so much of the human population gone, "no man left behind" was the one thing he never let go of. 4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent? Tolerant, but not above using them to achieve his own goals. 5. What prejudices does he hold? Are they irrational or does he have a good reason for them? Due to his past he is not all that fond of nonhumans, or more specifically anything that is sentient but didn't originate on Earth - he'll tolerate them, but won't hesitate to act in whatever manner he sees fit to deal with them at the slightest sign that they might become a problem. Daily Life1. What is the character's financial situation? Is he rich, poor, comfortable, in debt? None of the above are all that applicable - while not having a dime to his name, he operates under UNIT's care as does the rest of the Basilisk's crew. 2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him? Again not particularly applicable - while a de facto leader for the Basilisk due to his rank as a UNSC naval Captain in ONI, said rank doesn't particularly mean much anymore as he doesn't exist in any system. 3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others?Whatever UNIT barracks he is assigned to over the course of his work - typically speaking it remains in whatever condition it was that he got it in. 4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on? Nada. 5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else? More or less absorbed into UNIT, he acts as a field commander for the rest of the Basilisk's forces, more accurately for the ODSTs due to their stubborn and less than friendly nature driving off their previous CO. While something to do, Nicholas isn't particularly happy with the work as it feels more like unimportant MP duty to him compared to his previous lines of work. 6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time? Competition shooting in the UNIT firing ranges, sparring, maintaining his equipment, reading. 7. What are his eating habits? Does he skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods? None in particular - apart from eating far more than most people do due to his size, muscle mass and metabolism and favoring protein rich foods, Nicholas doesn't have any eating habits of note. AssociationsWhich of the following do you associate with the character, or which is his favorite: 1. Color? Dark gray 2. Smell? Ozone 3. Time of day? Evening 4. Season? Late summer 5. Book? The Art of War 6. Music? Metal 7. Place? Anywhere quiet 8. Substance? Steel 9. Plant? Sequoia 10. Animal? Spider

Body and Appearance1. Describe the character's height and build. Is she heavyset, thin, short, rangy? Short and scrawny which is apparently a thing for most of my characters haha 2. How old is she? Looks like a kid, who knows how old she actually is because Arrancar pls 3. Describe her posture. Does she carry herself well or does she slouch? Lilynette tends to straighten a lot when she wants to look less... tiny, but otherwise, her posture's rather poor, not quite slouching but definitely not perfect either. 4. How is her health? Is she fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities? Fit, if very scrawny and without much muscle on her. She doesn't have any physical conditions and is generally pretty healthy. 5. How does she move? Is she clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid? Bouncy and restless. Lilynette finds it difficult to stop moving, really, but she's not jittery - she just likes to be active, and she has a lot of energy, so a lot of her movements are exaggerated because of that. 6. How attractive is this character physically? How does she perceive herself in the mirror? uh cute I guess??? She thinks she looks awesome and will cero you in the face if you say otherwise. 7. Describe her complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred? Light, she's an arrancar so it's not like she gets any skin problems. 8. Describe her hair: color, texture, style. Light green, it's pretty coarse and cut quite simply at her chin. It's really not fancy and her mask covers a lot of it. 9. What color are her eyes? Light pink. like dawn and twilight10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features? Welp there's the horned mask covering her head and left eye, and the hollow hole on her stomach, and you know she turns into a gun sometimes but it's no big deal. 11. What are her chief tension centers? Face, shoulders, hands. 12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does she have six of the same suit? She wears the uniform Aizen picked out when she became an Arrancar, which is... pretty damn skimpy and also basically just white and black. Lilynette pls your clothes are ridiculous. 13. Do her clothes fit well? Does she seem comfortable in them? Does that even count as fitting. She's fine with them, though, and can fight and get thrown around in them without any discomfort. 14. Does she dress the same on the job as she does in her free time? If not, what are the differences? Yes she just always wears those clothes go away. 15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando? Hey, go ask Starrk about it. It'll be fun, promise. Speech1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse? Rather high-pitched, but not to an extreme. She sounds like a kid, though she gets a bit raspier when angry. 2. How does she normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does she talk easily, or does she hesitate? Lilynette is loud, and she talks easily and quickly, firing off questions or insults without much of a pause to think. She's not like this all the time, and she'll get much more low-key and subdued when she knows it's serious, but as a whole, she's loud and fast and it makes her rather difficult to ignore. 3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics? does swearing count. Also prone to using contractions and shortening her words, so she has a very informal way of speaking even if you ignore all the usages of asshole as a catch-all term for everyone ever. 4. What language/s does she speak, and with how much fluency? uh japanese I guess 5. Does she switch languages or dialects in certain situations? She stops swearing when she needs to be serious??? 6. Is she a good impromptu speaker, or does she have to think about her words? "good" is rather subjective but she doesn't have to think much to say stuff. 7. Is she eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change? Her favourite word appears to be a toss up of "asshole", "bastard", and "fucker". You may draw your conclusions from that. Mental and Emotional1. How intelligent is this character? Is she book-smart or street-smart? Street-smart, definitely, and fairly perceptive, though Starrk's the one for brilliant analytical knowledge and all that. She's clever enough to figure out tactics during battle, but she's more for rushing in than actually thinking. She thinks more when she's helping Starrk than when she's actually fighting on her own, and she isn't really one for learning by anything except experience. That said, she's also really good at understanding Starrk, so... she has really specific knowledge of how he thinks. 2. Does she think on her feet, or does she need time to deliberate? what do you mean deliberate Lilynette is essentially all about thinking on her feet. The rare time when she's actively mulling something over, chances are that it's big and probably bad as well. 3. Describe the character's thought process. Is she more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical? Though Lilynette might try to hide it - especially because Starrk tends to be very practical - she's an idealist, often frustrated by the way the world works. She doesn't want her friends to die, she doesn't want things to be as they are - but all she can really do is yell at Starrk about them. She's also intuitive, to balance out Starrk's more rational thinking - though Arrancar and Hollows tend to rely a bit on instinct anyways. 4. What kind of education has the character had? Essentially none except scraps from what Starrk bothered telling her, or the impromptu lectures Ichimaru and Tousen sometimes dispensed, mainly about practical things like Soul Society's usual tactics in pitched combat. Or how to dry persimmons so that you had a snack during battle. 5. What are her areas of expertise? What, if anything, is she interested in learning more about? Being an Arrancar is kind of... the only thing she knows, so she is generally knowledgeable about the differences in various souls and what's a shinigami and what isn't, how to fire off ceros, how to goad Starrk into moving without kicking him for ten minutes. She's not really interested in learning more, unless it's to help her and Starrk - so finding out stuff about why they're alive or what an enemy's weaknesses are is typically the only stuff she'd bother with. 6. Is she an introvert or an extrovert? Extrovert, and can't handle being on her own for long. She's got enough energy that having more people around isn't really necessary for her, but she likes being surrounded by people she trusts or at least knows, and having Starrk nearby is an absolute necessity. 7. Describe the character's temperament. Is she even-tempered or does she have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven? Driven, restless, annoyingly cheerful and brash. Lilynette is loud, likes to move around, has a ridiculously large mischievous streak, especially when it comes to teasing Starrk, and she seems very much like an overconfident child, if one with violent tendencies and various insecurities about appearing weak to other people. She does have a serious side, and she's very attuned to Starrk's moods and understands his quirks and actions, the same way he understands hers. While she is immature, she is also accustomed to death and fighting and a far rougher life than an actual child would have, which can often lead to an unnerving combination of childish bravado mixed with very real threats and actions. 8. How does she respond to new people or situations? Is she suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic? Rather suspicious, which shows itself as excessive brashness. She's even more obnoxious about meeting people with Starrk around, because then, as far as she's concerned, nothing can touch her so she's quick to insult and antagonize for the hell of it. 9. Is she more likely to act, or to react? React, which then gets her into trouble. 10. Which is her default: fight or flight? Fight, which... also gets her into trouble, because she will square off with people who can best her in combat and then refuse to leave or run away unless Starrk orders her to. If he's not around, she will keep fighting, especially if motivated by pride or anger. 11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does she appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks? Lilynette thinks making Starrk almost throw up is one of the best ways of waking him up, and she's very much one for physical pranks, mostly targeted on Starrk. She's also fond of trailing people she doesn't like and telling them how much they suck and goading them to fight her, while also being secure in the knowledge that if they tried, Starrk would stop them. Her sense of humour is crude and typically violent. 12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does she deal with them? Nope 13. What moments in this character's life have defined her as a person? Well, being separated from Starrk's soul and becoming her own person to begin with. It was the first time she existed as a separate being, and the only person she knew and understood was her other half. Meeting Aizen and joining the Espada gave her a meaning, to fight and care for her comrades. And then their fight in Karakura and her death to protect Starrk, when she sacrificed herself and sentenced him to being alone out of love. 14. What does she fear? Dying alone, dying before Starrk does and leaving him alone, and solitude in general. She's terrified of being completely her own person, and though she complains about not being strong enough, she's also afraid that if she was strong enough to fight at Starrk's level, he wouldn't need to protect her and then she wouldn't have to rely on him. 15. What are her hopes or aspirations? Not being alone, essentially. She wants to have some of the other Espada back, or if not that, to make new comrades who aren't beholden to Aizen. She wants to keep her and Starrk alive and happy and surrounded by the strong. 16. What is something she doesn't want anyone to find out about her? The idea of being her own, completely separate individual is the most terrifying thing she can think of, because then she and Starrk would be utterly alone once more. Relationships1. Describe this character's relationship with her parents. parents are those fucking human things that make humans right? 2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like? and then they have more humans and they're brother and sister or something 3. Are there other blood relatives to whom she is close? Are there ones she can't stand? why are families so large this is stupid 4. Are there other, unrelated people whom she considers part of her family? What are her relationships with them? Starrk is her other half, and also something of a father and an older brother. He calls her off when she's getting too reckless, he protects her - even when it's her own fault that she needs protection - and in turn she keeps him interested in life and motivates him when she has to. He is the centre of her world. 5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet? She didn't really have any haha. 6. Does she have other close friends? She got along well enough with Harribel? If that counts? 7. Does she make friends easily, or does she have trouble getting along with people? If people can stand how abrasive and inclined to punching the people she likes she is, they get along great! 8. Which does she consider more important: family or friends? Starrk. 9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has she been married more than once? um why don't you ask starrk this 10. Is she currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse? and this 11. Who was her first crush? Who is her latest? um 12. What does she look for in a romantic partner? yeah fuck off 13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does she relate to them? If no, does she want any? can arrancar even have kids 14. Does she have any rivals or enemies? She hates Ukitake and Kyouraku - Ukitake for humiliating her and treating her like a child and then ignoring every single one of her attacks. Kyouraku killed her, and then he killed Starrk. She will never forgive him for that. 15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does she fall on the Kinsey scale? Asexual wHAT A SURPRISE 16. How does she feel about sex? How important is it to her? ask starrk this too 17. What are her turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits? and this are we done yet Beliefs1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does she fit type? Capricorns are apparently stable, serious and determined, willing to work to achieve their ambitions and having enough of that ambition to motivate them. While determination fits well enough for Lilynette, she's not very anchored and most definitely not serious and industrious all the time, though she does do way more on a daily basis than Starrk. Capricorns are prone to moodswings and ruining the mood with sudden flippancy, but Lilynette is rather steadily obnoxious and flippant than switching between that and melancholic - she isn't capricious at all. 2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in her life? She's kind of a corrupted soul collective split in half which was then poured into the mold of a shinigami. Souls exist, the afterlife is a thing, but she doesn't really care because to her, these are undeniable facts of her existence and not very interesting ones either. 3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it? She refuses to betray or break promises to her comrades, because they are the reason she and Starrk joined up with Aizen to begin with. However, if it was a choice between somehow hurting Starrk or betraying them, she would turn traitor a bit more easily. 4. How does she regard beliefs that differ from hers? Is she tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent? She doesn't give a shit. In the least. Everyone else is stupid and she doesn't want to hear about what they believe because they're wrong anyways. 5. What prejudices does she hold? Are they irrational or does she have a good reason for them? She dislikes shinigami a great deal, because they were her only enemies and a Captain killed her and then killed Starrk when he lost the will to fight. Daily Life1. What is the character's financial situation? Is she rich, poor, comfortable, in debt? um what's money and why do people give a fuck about it 2. What is her social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected her? She's the Primera Espada's Fraccion and other half - they got the biggest wing to laze about it, virtual immunity since anyone trying to kill her would have to mess with Starrk... she's pretty privileged as an Arrancar. 3. Where does she live? House, apartment, trailer? Is her home her castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does she share it with others? She still hangs out in Las Noches but the location doesn't really matter to her, nor the condition - as long as it has a couch or some pillows or something to lie down on comfortably, it's good. And of course, Starrk needs to be there so she can then wake him up by punching him a few times. 4. Besides the basic necessities, what does she spend her money on? no seriously why is money so important this is stupid 5. What does she do for a living? Is she good at it? Does she enjoy it, or would she rather be doing something else? Bothering Starrk is her job, she's good at it, and it's way better than the alternative of not bothering him. Then he'd sleep all day. 6. What are her interests or hobbies? How does she spend her free time? Other than bothering Starrk, she enjoys fighting and playing, though her version of playing often involves screaming insults at someone and being screamed at in turn for a few rounds. Being underfoot and obnoxious is kind of her hobby. 7. What are her eating habits? Does she skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods? Arrancar can basically sustain themselves on anything as long as there are spirit particles in the area. She's not the best at eating souls so she typically just eats whatever's around if she wants the flavour. She likes both coffee and tea, and can even make both drinks, though if they taste good is... arguable. The sheer amount of caffeine she imbibes has no actual effect - she just likes the taste. AssociationsWhich of the following do you associate with the character, or which is her favorite: 1. Color? Green 2. Smell? Pine needles 3. Time of day? Midday 4. Season? Summer 5. Book? pretty sure she can't read to be honest 6. Music? um whatever starrk's listening to 7. Place? Las Noches 8. Substance? Metal??? 9. Plant? Lilies because she's so delicate and pretty right??? She actually likes ivy a lot. 10. Animal? Wolves. Duh.

Does he carry himself well or does he slouch? His posture tends to shift with the environment. Walking alone in an isolated place he tends to relax more, slouch. In public he walks like a grudge. Strong and confident and seeming more then ready to cram his fist down someone's throat for a chuckle. 4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities? Despite a long history of smoking and drinking his health is surprisingly good. He tends not to get sick much. He is very fit as I have said from his work. 5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid? Jax tends to move tenser around people. Looking at those around him as a threat. The more tense he gets the tighter his fists get and the more those muscles tense up. Him being tense tends to mean he is about to hit something anyways. 12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit? His father's indifferent, his mother's use of him as a trophy, his near miss with suicide and discovery of heavy metal. Body and Appearance 1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy? Hao is actually pretty short, even for his age - he's not really bothered by it, though. I'd give an actual measurement but for some reason all the wiki can tell me is that he's a little taller than Yoh, who was 5'3" at the start of the series, but several years passed sO WHO EVEN KNOWS. He's fairly slender, and is pretty physically unassuming, especially compared to most of his followers - though he's still well-muscled.
2. How old is he? Sixteen! But really he's a thousand.
3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch? Hao practically reeks nonchalance. His posture isn't a full on slouch, but he doesn't bother with standing stiffly - he generally seems at ease no matter where he is, and his posture reflects that, generally seeming natural and almost careless.
4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities? Healthy, and quite fit - as might be expected of someone involved in a fighting tournament.
5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid? He moves with a careless sort of grace that does a very good job of hiding how he feels. When he gets serious, his movements become far more controlled, and subtler.
6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror? do you know how many fangirls he has holy shit
He's the future king, of course he's pretty sure he looks damn awesome.
7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred? uh tanned-ish I guess, pretty much unblemished.
8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style. tHE COLOUR OF TWILIGHT AND DAWN
It's actually dark brown, and worn surprisingly long - it hangs past his waist, though he'll occasionally tie it up. It spikes up when he does 2spooky shaman things like changing elements.
9. What color are his eyes? Brown. Though they're prone to having a strange, fiery tinge to them at times - when he's focusing on the thoughts he's hearing.
10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features? the strength to wear gigantic earrings all day without flinching
11. What are his chief tension centers? Neck, hands, shoulders.
12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit? Casual, and he has some variety - he likes dress shirts a lot and also has a jogging suit. His usual attire is juuust a little self-indulgent, though - he wears a poncho and pretty weird pants that have enough belts for a Kingdom Hearts character. Both his boots and his gloves look vaguely lego-ish, and the protruding bits have his name on them. He's fond of the star symbol as well, which is on his earrings and his pants.
His earrings are kind of huge.
13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them? Very much so! Hao takes to pretty much anything he's wearing without any hint of discomfort. They do tend to be looser than strictly necessary.
14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences? It varies. Even when he didn't have a fight waiting during the Shaman Fight, he typically wore those clothes - but he dressed more casually when meeting with Yoh over coffee, as well as when he hung out to make battle plans with the group against a mutual threat. He's also fine with going shirtless when gathering followers, so it's likely based on his whims.
15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando? You could try and find out. The Spirit of Fire hasn't had anything to eat in a few days....
Speech 1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse? Fairly even in pitch and tone, and quite similar to his brother's - though Hao is a little deeper.
2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate? Hao talks quite lightly, with an incredibly casual air to it - as if he doesn't really care about what he's saying, and doesn't expect anyone else to get serious about it either. It would put people at ease, if he wasn't also inclined to tease or outright mock people without changing his tone at all. He's got a habit of suddenly saying something serious before going right back to his previous way of speaking, or saying something quite important without changing inflection at all.
3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics? Not really???
4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency? Japanese, English. During the Shaman Fight, the Great Spirit just auto-translated everything, though.
5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations? He's never needed to.
6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words? With the reishi, he might be said to be cheating - he often knows the right things to say to get the reaction he wants from someone, but he's undeniably good at coming up with what to say without any hesitation.
7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change? Hao's charismatic and he knows it. He's usually calm, and when calm, he's very good at expressing himself. But prod at his issues, or let things spiral out of his control, and he's far less articulate. As a sharp contrast to his affable and easy way of speaking when calm, once he's upset he'll swear, shout and threaten - ironically, he's far less menacing then, rather than when he's still smiling.
Mental and Emotional 1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart? Hao's something of a shamanic prodigy - he had great potential even in his first life, and was not only able to develop many techniques himself, but recorded them. His book of teachings is still relevant a thousand years later, and he understands both theory and practical methods very well.
Due to his childhood, he started out more streetsmart, but is now pretty balanced between both.
2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate? Hao thinks quickly and reacts quickly, and his confidence is part of that. He's a decisive, controlling person - hesitance or needing to mull things over isn't common for him.
3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical? Hao was once an idealist, and his strength comes from those ideals - his vision of a human-free world, and his goal of saving the world from being destroyed by their wars and conflicts. However, while the power of a shaman typically comes from ideals, the way they think has to be at least somewhat tempered by practicality and rational thinking - simply being passionate and fighting from instinct and determination will actually often result in a loss.
4. What kind of education has the character had? A haphazard one - while Hao learned some skills in his first life, he also developed many new ones for other shamans, which he did on his own.
He's basically avoided formal education or being taught anything for his whole long life.
5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about? hI DO YOU LIKE GHOSTS BECAUSE HE LIKES GHOSTS
As a shaman, Hao's interested in anything that has to do with spirits, gods, death, afterlives, different techniques from different cultures or worlds that involve any and all of those. He might be an arrogant douche with a genocidal streak that could encompass a city, but he's also sincerely involved in the world's future, and as a shaman, he's hugely influential. In the most recent Shaman Fight, 80% of the participants were related to him in some way, and his teachings are a widely sought after means of strengthening oneself.
He's on his third life, so he's an expert in almost everything to do with shamans at this point, including the Fight and the Great Spirit.
6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert? Surprisingly enough for people who meet him, Hao doesn't actually like being surrounded by people. Despite having a genuine crowd of followers with him most of the time, who he'll hang out with, and being willing to chat up people, Hao is somewhat introverted. He's at his best when interacting with only one or two people at a time, and even then he'll likely isolate himself after a short time.
His reishi means having a lot of people around him is hardly ideal, but being alone isn't great either - he's a desperately lonely person.
7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven? Apparently laidback, cheerful and social, with a tendency to be mocking and test people to see their reactions. He doesn't hide who and what he is, but he doesn't boast too much about it either - his arrogance is similar to that of someone who's in on a joke no one else is, and is only playing along for the fun of it.
This is something of a front - while Hao genuinely likes riling people up, he's also quite a cruel person, with a lot of hatred and grief that he hides quite effectively. He has absolutely no problems with killing needlessly, and then taunting any survivors. He's inundated with the suffering of others, to the point that adding to their problems doesn't bother him at all. This is quite at odds with his originally compassionate ideals, and the kindness he once had.
If anything, he's quite corrupted by hatred - but he's clearly compassionate when around animals, and occasionally spirits or some select people.
8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic? Cautious, though he won't show it - instead trying for a relaxed, casual air.
9. Is he more likely to act, or to react? Act - Hao likes being in control of things, and while mindreading helps him react better, ideally he should already be ahead a few steps and in quite an advantageous position.
10. Which is his default: fight or flight? Fight. What's the point of having an elemental spirit that eats souls if you don't use it? But even before then, once he found out the truth of his mother's murder, he instantly decided to take revenge.
11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks? Hao is quite charming, and pretty quick to make light of a situation, the better to show that he doesn't really give a shit about what's going on. His humour ranges from light teasing and seriously talking about ridiculous things to troll, to far less harmless jokes. His mocking can be cruel, pinpointing the things that'll hurt someone the most and exploiting them. He'll kill someone's companions in front of them, and then taunt them for not being able to do anything. An entire team sacrificed themselves to learn how he fought, and he then pointed out that he could easily have told them if they asked, and that it was a basic enough thing to begin with. When in a bad mood, he'll specifically target someone and do his best to unnerve or hurt them, just as a way to lash out.
12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them? No
13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person? His mother's death, meeting Ohachiyo, finding out his mother's killer was a fraud and subsequently killing him and absorbing Ohachiyo. When his reishi finally went out of control, his first death, stealing the Spirit of Fire, being killed again by Yohken and Matamune. His grandfather trying to kill him when he reincarnated and split his soul, taking in Opacho, meeting Yoh for the first time and having coffee with him.
14. What does he fear? Being alone, the world's death, failure, never having his revenge, giving up.
15. What are his hopes or aspirations? oh I don't know maybe bECOMING SHAMAN KING
16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him? His past, for one thing. How much he cares about Opacho, and most of his insecurities and flaws - he doesn't like being pitied.
Relationships 1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents. Non-existent with his father, but he adored his mother. She was kind and cared for him and raised him well until humans tied her up and burned her to death in her own house. He's also got other parents due to reincarnation but he kind of... burned his dad's face severely.
2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like? He has Yoh, who is ostensibly the lesser half of his soul. They get along pretty well, though Yoh disapproves of Hao's methods, and Hao thinks Yoh is pretty fucking naive most of the time. Yoh's used their connection to get certain things - such as Hao promising to revive anyone he's killed in an upcoming battle, and Hao generally has a strong interest in Yoh's growing power, occasionally looking out for him or offering advice.
He even saved his life once but shhhh
3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand? well most of his clan wants to kill him
4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them? Opacho's pretty much his adopted daughter. He likes her because she's honest, even to him, and because she's got the same burden he has - though while she can't read his mind, he can read hers. Despite her young age, she's trusted with most of his plans and opinions, and he trusts her with relaying messages - and he would be very involved if someone threatened her.
5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet? His first friend was Ohachiyo, a demon who found him as a child, and tried to get him away from his thoughts of revenge. He taught him the joys of life and childhood he hadn't known until then, and even partnered with him when Hao confronted the monk who had sentenced his mother to death. In the end, Hao's powers absorbed him, giving him the reishi.
6. Does he have other close friends? Later in his first life, he found a cat living in a mass grave, who was aware of spirits and knew it was dying. Taking pity on it, he took the cat in and cared for it - and when the cat died, he invested some of his own power in it, allowing it to become a guardian spirit by the name of Matamune.
Matamune eventually deserted him due to Hao's growing hatred of humans, and killed him in his second life.
7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people? Hao often can accurately grasp the innate desires of others, and use that to his advantage. He's charismatic, and powerful, and power draws power. He sways many people towards him, some who are incredibly devoted.
But they are not friends. He knows when their devotion falters, when they start doubting him. Few are willing to get close to him, and when they try, he often keeps them at a distance anyways. Hao gets along with people well enough, on the surface, but... he can't deal well with people. He has closed his heart, and suffers the burden of his power.
8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends? While his mother was incredibly important to him, Hao suffered just as much from the loneliness of being betrayed or never being able to trust anyone else - and given most of his family wants to deal with him fatally, he values friends more.
But he doesn't have any of those.
9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once? He's been married twice before in his previous lives, but that was mostly so he'd have powerful lineages to reincarnate into for later.
10. Is he currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse? He doesn't have friends - how could he have any romance???
11. Who was his first crush? Who is his latest? He showed interest in Anna, but mostly because he thought she was much more than she appeared to be, and because her mind was closed to him.
12. What does he look for in a romantic partner? Power??? Being able to stand up to him.
13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does he relate to them? If no, does he want any? Silva and most of the Asakura clan are his descendants. There's an entire little branch that's entirely his side of the family.
14. Does he have any rivals or enemies? The X-Laws, Yoh's group, the Gandhara... he considers all of humanity his enemies.
15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the Kinsey scale? uh he's married before but lol I suck at romance and orientations
16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him? I'm pretty sure when your main goal is merging with the collective memory of the universe, you've got things more important to consider than sex
17. What are his turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits? bURNING THINGS TO DEATH
Beliefs 1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does he fit type? He's a Taurus, and though he likes comfort, and can be said to be stubborn what with the whole reincarnating tWICE to keep pursuing his goals, he's not entirely the type - especially with how he acts on the surface.
2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life? oh wow shamans definitely aren't spiritual
atheism all the way
No but Hao is quite spiritual since he works with spirits, though as religions go, shamans typically are odd in that they can interact with their god if the conditions are right. To even enter the Shaman Fight means to be given a test by the Great Spirit, after all - so his personal beliefs have more weight than most. Also if you search around, most pantheons can be found accompanying various shamans, and Jesus and Buddha were both previous Shaman Kings, so things get... kind of complicated.
3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it? Hao prefers killing humans to killing other shamans, and he'll show respect to shamans in general, in a skewed way - he's much more polite to spirits and animals, but he won't shy from killing anything that gets in his way, for the most part.
His code, as it were, gets complicated when it involves the few people he genuinely cares about.
4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent? lol humans are stupid
believing in gods that shamans can talk to or use in battle
loooool
He's polite to the gods themselves, of course.
5. What prejudices does he hold? Are they irrational or does he have a good reason for them? Hao just loves humans. :]
He thinks they're a plague upon the world and if left unchecked will destroy it, and also they killed his mom and are slowly losing belief in spirits and gods, which in turn weakens the power of shamans.
Daily Life 1. What is the character's financial situation? Is he rich, poor, comfortable, in debt? Hao doesn't believe in money. He lives comfortably because he's used to camping out, can make fires wherever and is pretty okay with intimidating people or stealing to get anything he needs.
2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him? He was fairly well off during his early years, and then homeless, and then wealthy when he became an onmyouji. As a Patch official, he was likely middle class, and in his third life he's basically been living off the land.
3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others? Hao lives wherever - he's not particularly distraught when the abandoned military base he and his followers were hanging out in is destroyed by a blast from a satellite, and he spent half of his life travelling the world to find shamans and the other half training them while living on a riverbank.
4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on? Hao refuses to be controlled by the economy.
5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else? He's a professional shaman :OOO
He's the strongest one in the world, so yes, he's good at it. And of course he enjoys it.
6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time? His hobbies are basically trolling people, burning stuff and people, watching fights, watching Yoh fight, going to hot springs and hanging out with Opacho. These often happen in some sort of combination.
7. What are his eating habits? Does he skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods? Hao doesn't believe in paying for things, so he generally intimidates people into giving him food and drink for free, or his followers just steal shit and give it to him. He likes coffee a lot, though he's also fond of green tea.
Associations Which of the following do you associate with the character, or which is his favorite:
