This world was disgusting. So much of it was water, at least - but as the Condesce looked down upon the coastline, she could still see the trash dotting the beach, drifting on the waves and washing up on the shore. Humans contaminated everything, and every particle of her being demanded they be subjugated, destroyed - no, culled for what they had done. She would bring in her ships, greet every leader of every fractured country, watch them descend into chaos, and then... raze everything to the ground. And then let the ground crumble into the sizeable oceans.
It was a good plan. It would have been better if she had ships, and her handpicked crews to man them, and the entire might of the Alternian Empire behind her.
Instead, she had herself, and a nigh omniscient First Guardian who knew how much she resented her duties, and a universe-killing demon to herald.
She didn't like the odds, and she didn't like that with all her powers, she had the orders to not do anything to attract attention. She was all about attention. The best way to get an enemy to lower their guard was to pose and draw attention and make herself seem flashy, all showy fins and glitter and then stabbing them in the back when they thought less of her for it. But no, she had to wait, and waiting chafed. So did standing on this cliff, reely. Collapsing it with a brief flash of psionics, she then floated gracefully down to the beach, wading into the water.
At least there was water. The planet would make a good colony.

Eridan hated this world. Sure, most of it was water, which was good for him since it allowed him to find a decent spot to live in, but most of that water was polluted and all-around disgusting. All Eridan could really think about anymore was how awful the humans were at keeping their planet clean. They had no respect for the sea dwellers. It was such a change from Alternia, where the sea dwellers were royalty. What a shame that here, the land dwellers were in charge.
Eridan emerged from the waters onto a beach. There didn't seem to be any humans about, thankfully. As Eridan walked, he heard a noise. The source was a cliff collapsing because of some kind of power. After only a moment of looking, Eridan understood. Standing there, or rather floating, was the Queen of Trolls herself: Her Imperious Condescension. This was basically a dream come true. The presence of the Queen meant that Earth was going to be subjugated and flooded - and possibly populated with trolls.
Unfortunately, Eridan had no idea how to approach her. He decided to do it in the most respectful way he could think. Eridan walked up to her and knelt down on one knee, as was custom. Eridan himself was royalty, but he was nowhere close to the Condesce. Now that he was awkwardly kneeling there, Eridan needed something to say before this got even more awkward. "...your imperious condescension." Was all he could really say. He really should have though his introduction through more. Well, no going back from that. "my name is eridan ampora."

This was...
Whale.
Another troll. She turned to look down at him as he knelt formally - good, despite being too young to enter the fleets, he knew the traditional rites of greeting royalty. And he had high blood. By any other standards, in any company but that of a tyrian blood, he would have been accorded the highest of honours.
But of course, he was in her presence, and thus impossibly outranked.
But most importantly of all, he was alive, and that was something she very much needed. "---Eridan," she mused, hair rippling out behind her as she considered him. "You may rise. It is good to see another sea-dweller here~" Of course, a low-blood would have been more useful in some ways, as a power source and weapon, but... no, a loyal highblood could be just as useful. Just, obviously, not as a battery. She smiled, baring her teeth in a visibly unpleasant expression - but not one truly directed at him.
"Tell me, ---Eridan Ampora, do you swear fealty to the Alternian Empire and to me?" She wouldn't be able to get anywhere until she had proof of his loyalty - and of course, if he was a soft-hearted insurgent, she would have to deal with him in a much less pleasant fashion.

As soon as the Condesce instructed, Eridan stood up. He never expected to find himself speaking to Her Imperious Condescension, not even when he wasn't one of the few remaining trolls. Certainly, he expected to fight for the Condesce when he was much older, but he never expected to actually meet her. He was actually rather starstruck, especially since she seemed actually pleased to see him. It had been a while since anyone was pleased to see him, after all. He didn't really know how to reply, so he simply stayed quiet. It was probably a good idea to just stay quiet until she wanted him to speak.
At the Condesce's question, Eridan nodded slowly, trying to find the exact words. "...yes. of course i do." He replied, finally realizing what he wanted to say. Perhaps he would end up actually working with the Condesce to conquer this world! Certainly, she had plans to flood Earth. That would certainly make this place even more hospitable, removing the threat of ocean pollution. It would, however, take some time to clean up after the humans' mess. They were even worse than land dwelling trolls at keeping their oceans clean.
"do you... plan to conquer earth?" The troll asked, hopefully. Things certainly seemed to be looking up for him now. Before, he'd just been... sitting around undersea, totally alone. He'd seen a few people on Trollian, those being Karkat, Vriska, some of the humans and maybe some others, but... Well, none of them actually wanted to talk to him. Now, he had... well, not exactly a friend but someone willing to actually speak to him.

Oh, of course he would ask about the one thing she so dearly longed for - this disgusting mudball required conquest, it needed to be flooded and destroyed but -
But she couldn't. She had orders, and to admit that to one of her own subjects - impossible. She had her pride, of course. But at the same time... how could she explain her reasoning otherwise? The Condescension lived and breathed violence and conquest. The waters of every planet ran red when she passed through its system. That, every troll knew.
"Yes," she said. "I do. But not just yet - many things must be taken care of first." Such as acquiring a matriorb, and genetic material, and the technology for a spacefaring ship of some size - many, many things.
And they all started with getting away from English, which was a significant task in and of itself. She had to plan a rebellion and a way to defeat him by herself, without alerting Scratch - that itself was nearly impossible. To fool a First Guardian, kill an immortal demon... and yet, she would have to do so. She was the Empress of Alternia - not a demon's tool to be used like a pawn. She needed her freedom.
But perhaps... this was a highblood, young as he was. Eridan could be useful. "Will you help me, ---Eridan?" He shared Dualscar's name and sign - and perhaps his descendant would grow to be as dangerous.

Yes, good... she was going to flood the planet after all. Of course, there were apparently things she had to do before doing that... but it still gave Eridan hope that the planet would eventually be made much more hospitable for him. If it were filled with water, it would be just him and whatever else was in the ocean - possibly even other sea-dwelling trolls. Well, now that he was assured that she had plans to make this planet much better than it was, he could certainly endure it's current state longer.
"good." Eridan replied, nodding slightly. "this planet is barely evven hospitable right noww." With that over, Eridan was just about to turn around... when the Condesce asked him a question. Did he want to help her flood Earth... and possibly move on to other planets, subjugating and flooding them as well? Eridan thought for a moment... it had always been his goal to destroy the land dwellers of Alternia. But this was different. This wasn't trying to steal doomsday devices from Vriska and stuff like that. This was real stuff. This was him choosing to either just live on a flooded Earth or travel from planet to planet, destroying each one in his wake.
He needed time to think... All he had ever wanted was to destroy land dwellers and do exactly what she was offering. But could he really do it? Eridan thought for a moment more before coming to a decision. "...yes" He said. "i wwill help you." At that very moment, Eridan could see himself flooding Earth... and whatever other planets were beyond that. He saw himself eradicating entire planets full of land dwellers, subjugating them and living up to his blood.... and he realized that it was exactly what he wanted to do.

He hesitated, but that was a good sign - someone who leaped up at the first chance for conquest had admirable drive, but too much enthusiasm could mean a trap, an assassin - or merely a glory-oriented idiot who was more hindrance than help.
She had no need of idiots. This was already risky enough. Any allies she gained had to be the height of competence - and time would tell if Eridan was good if enough to count as such. As it was, she really couldn't turn him away at the moment. But she would need to test him - his capabilities, his strength, his loyalty. "It will have to remain inhospitable a little while longer," she admitted, distaste heavy in her voice. To allow humans to live, to continue to pollute the water as they were - they needed to be culled, every last one of them.
Blood in the water, and sharks about to feed - but not yet, not yet.
Oh, this was infuriating.
But she wasn't alone, now. That would have to count for something. "---Excellent!" she said, turning to smile down at him. "Now... show me what you can do. Just what can you offer me, ---Eridan?"

It sounded to Eridan like something was... stopping the Condesce from flooding the planet. The thought seemed ridiculous to Eridan - what could possibly stop her from just doing away with the place? There wasn't much Eridan could think of that would by capable of stopping her. She was already the strongest troll in existence, not to mention her fleet and drones. What could possibly stand in her way?
Eridan tilted his head slightly. He was obviously confused. There was certainly nothing on Earth powerful enough to stand a chance against her, right? Earth was a pathetic place, certainly nothing at all like Alternia and humans... weren't trolls. They had weird, obviously inferior ways... but it wasn't their fault they all had the same blood color and were land dwellers. Still, they needed to be gotten rid of. "wwhy is that?" Eridan asked, finally voicing his question. In retrospect, it would probably have been a good idea to just not ask.
Oh, she wanted to see what he could do. Well, he did have his wand with him... Eridan reached into his pocket and procured his wand. He snapped his arm forward and fired a white beam into a nearby cliff formation. The resulting impact caused a large explosion, completely destroying a large section of the cliff. Eridan placed the wand back into his pocket before looking back at the Condesce. "wwhat do you think?"

All of a sudden, Eridan's audience had doubled in size.
There had been no warning of its coming, no sign of movement in the area at all. If Her Condescension had seen it at all, she made no indication of acknowledging it that Eridan had noticed. But there were now two pairs of eyes regarding his display of power.
When he turned back around, only then would he see it for himself. Standing at the lip of the very cliff he had just blasted, a towering silhouette stared down at the two seadwellers. Deep purple eyes shifted slowly from the Condesce to Eridan and back. From within a mass of unkempt black hair, a pair of long horns spiralled upwards.
The figure cracked a fanged, ear-to-ear smile.
"WELL I'LL BE DAMNED."

"Why?" she repeated bitterly.
She would have to answer that. She would have to explain her situation, that she had betrayed her own empire and species for power - and now couldn't even use that power for her own ends. No, she was a herald, a servant. A replacement for the Handmaid, who had been just as bitter, and far less greedy for the power that had been her birthright. She had wanted an end to it all.
The Condesce couldn't regret her decision. Working with English had given her so much - but it had also doomed her, and taken away her pride, and she could not allow that to go on.
She would not give in and seek death. That went against everything she believed, everything she had instilled into each generation of trolls. They clawed their way upward, towards their goals. She would do the same.
But not alone. As Eridan displayed his power, she caught a flicker of motion - and the grin that spread across her face was not just for that single blast of light, though that was powerful enough to suit her needs. Eridan was strong - as strong as a capable psionic, despite being far too high up on the hemospectrum to be gifted with such abilities. She would need that.
"Whale... it's been a while," she murmured, tilting her head, before turning back to Eridan. There was no question of the second watcher coming down to meet them - that he would stand with her was an immutable fact. "But that was very good, ---Eridan! You're quite strong. Strong enough to help me."
And soon, she would have to say just what she needed help with. But not just yet.

Just as Eridan was finishing up with his example of power, he heard a noise in the distance. It sounded like... somebody talking. As he was pocketing his white science wand, he turned his head to look in the direction of the noise. What, or rather who, Eridan saw there was a sight to behold. Although he looked down on all land dwellers, it was exceptionally difficult to look down this one... partly because he was ridiculously tall, but also because he seemed to command a certain power... as well as possessing familiarity with the Condesce.
"thank you, your condescension." He replied, bowing his head respectfully. He looked up once again to take another look at the rather large troll standing nearby. He was clearly someone of great power or importance, since he knew the Condesce, and he was a purple blood, like Gamzee. Come to think of it, he sort of looked like Gamzee... he had the same ridiculously large hair, except perhaps even more ridiculous. Was that something shared for purple bloods? No matter, all Eridan needed to know what that he was important. He gave the large newcomer a respectful head bow, to ensure that he didn't become angry.
But there was still one matter... he didn't know why the Condesce had to wait to destroy the planet. It was, after all, a pretty meager planet. The human land dwellers were even weaker than the troll land dwellers, which was quite a feat. "by the wway" He began, thinking up how to word this. "wwhy do you havve to wwait to conquer earth?" Hopefully, his question wasn't too offensive. The last thing he wanted to do was to be killed on the spot right after becoming the Condesce's ally.

Firstly, the silhouette turned its gaze upon Eridan. The grub was clad in seadwelling finery - reminiscent of a certain violet-blooded Gamblignant. The nod spoke to a measure of understanding of the hemospectrum, once the large troll reminded himself that this kid was clearly too young to know exactly who he was.
He listened for a few moments more, waiting for an opportunity. He would wait until the Condesce had given her answer to the grub's question before making his move, and when he did, it was an untraceable blur of motion. He simply vanished from atop the cliff, only to reappear on the shore before his Empress, lowered onto one knee and bowed reverently forward, his face invisible beneath his mass of hair.
"Your Condescension." Slowly his head craned upwards, and the Grand Highblood offered the Condesce a fanged smile. "It's been far too motherfuckin' long."

Her smile turned into a scowl, bitter and directed at neither of her current attendants. It was not their fault. Her situation made her want to rip the ground to pieces, pierce the very molten heart of this world and choke it with water, but that would fix nothing, and only draw attention to her.
"I am not... free of obligations," she admitted, the words leaden. "Our species is dead. The Vast Glub has killed all of them - except for you two, and whichever others found themselves here. When everyone died, I was given an... offer. To serve a demon called ---English. If I did, I would have power." She managed to smirk, lips twitching into a fanged grimace after only a moment as her hands tightened. "I agreed. I am now his herald, and comply with his plans. On my own, it would be betta to not try to escape. But I made plans to revive the ---Empire.
"I won't be a tool. And now I have the two of you!" she concluded merrily. "If we're careful, and you follow me... we can fix this." She had more to consider, of course - if either of them even had a matriorb, or if one had somehow found itself here. Otherwise... there would be no mother grub - and she would also need genetic material. Whale. She could come to that hurdle when she had a mature mother grub, and English didn't control almost every aspect of what she did and did not do.
Especially with his shitty humour.
And with that answer, the Highblood came forward to offer his respects in the proper way, and she reached out to rest a hand on his shoulder affectionately. Yes, things would go better now. She needed an enforcer. ")(ighblood. That it has. Oh, ---Eridan, meet the Grand )(ighblood. I'm shore you'll get along well!"

The Condesce was serving a demon called English? That sounded... weird. Definitely not what Eridan was expecting. What he knew of the Condesce was that she was a traveling conqueror, moving about through worlds and destroying the land dwellers there so that they wouldn't constantly destroy the sea... and just so she could have the pleasure of ruling over them, something Eridan admitted to himself he would have if he ruled over every land dweller. What he didn't expect was for the Condesce to be in service to some immortal demon who was keeping her from doing exactly what he thought she would do.
However... he could help her get past this. The three of them could defeat this "English" demon and do what the Condesce was supposed to do. It couldn't be too hard to defeat him, could it? Considering that the Condesce had her abilities, and it seemed she had even more than he had originally thought, he had his white science and it seemed this newcomer was of a purple-blooded persuasion, as well as a Subjuggalator, so he likely had some degree of psychic powers. Eridan wished he had more to contribute to their fight. Why hadn't he fought harder to get God Tier when he had the chance to?
"wwell, it seems to me that three of us should be able to do just that." Eridan said, glancing at the other two. He was obviously the youngest of the group, and most likely the least powerful. Certainly, he was considerably strong and fast for his age, as well as an expert with his weapons... but he was still far too young to be as skilled or powerful as either of these two. He would need to put in a great deal of effort to be a relevant part of this team... or he could find a way to achieve God Tier and become powerful enough to hold his own.
"grand highblood..." Eridan murmured, trying to think of what that name reminded him of. He could have sworn he'd heard it before. Oh, well. "its an honor to meet you, grand highblood."

The Highblood couldn't help but smile at the Condesce's touch upon his shoulder. He had to admit, he quite enjoyed these subtle signs of her pleasure with his loyalty and efficient enforcing of her rule. While any other troll would have had to wait to be so excused, the towering Subjugglator rose to his feet with no prompting, turning to look upon the violetblood grub.
"Don't suppose you grew up in the presence of the adults, did you, my lil' royal motherfucker?" he chuckled. This would be the only acceptable excuse for even the freshly-surfaced wigglers not knowing the Grand Highblood's name. "Good to meet a young favourite of Her Condescension."
He turned to glance at the Condesce. He'd heard her explanation of her predicament, and he knew that she knew this. Soon enough she'd likely be polling her chief attack dog for his opinion of the situation and how to proceed.
