Name: Celestino
Alias:
Age: Born in year 1483. Changed Year 1509. 497 years old.
Ranking: Neutral
Physical Appearance: Celestino stands at nearly six feet in height. He appears as a young man with a strong build and fine features. His hair is a curly, glossy, black mop. He has brown eyes.
During the Renaissance he was often used as a model for paintings or sculptures of angels.
He wears mostly white clothing. He also wears a large white cloak when he's vamping. His choice of color and beautiful appearance has led to him being mistaken for an angel on more than one occasion.
Personality: Celestino is a calm and gentle person. He honestly doesn't want to hurt anyone, regardless of his nature. He feels immense sorrow for the people who have to die for his hunger. Like many vampires of the Renaissance he only feeds on the lowest of humans or, when that's impossible, he feeds on many different humans so as not to kill them. His natural patience and immortality makes it difficult to get him angry.
That's not to say he isn't dangerous. He has no formal combat training but his age and strength make him a dangerous opponent. Though he doesn't get angry often, when he does it can be an incredible maelstrom of rage. As much as he hates to he has and will kill if he needs to.
Growing up during the height of the Italian Renaissance he has been imbued with a sense of mankind's potential greatness.
He is also an artistic person. He is a skilled sculptor and, at times, a poet.
Powers/Abilities:
Immortality: Since the moment of the transformation the Vampire stops aging and becomes immune to all human diseases.
Regenerative Healing Factor: A function of the Vampires immortality. They are able to regenerate physical damage at a superhuman rate. They are incapable of regenerating missing limbs or organs however they are able to replace them with others that they can find either from other Vampires or human victims.
Superhuman Senses: Celestino can see in total darkness as if it was a clear sunny day, something at over a few hundred feet appears as though it is right in front of his face. his sense of hearing is enhanced in a similar manner, enabling them to hear sounds that an ordinary human can't and to be able to hear sounds that an ordinary human can, but at much greater distances. He can memorize tens of thousands of scents and track them to the exact location, smell fear, and detect if someone is lying by change in body odor.
Mental Abilities: His mental abilities are usually limited to sensing others intentions, such as if they are good or evil or if they are telling the truth.
Psychokinesis: Transvection: He is capable of self levitation and flight. He generally flies beneath the height of clouds and around 75 mph. He is capable of flying higher than clouds and at speeds of up to 200 mph. At high altitudes (near at or above the level of clouds) he is able to fly at 75 mph for 4 hours.
Transformation: Vampires generally retain the appearance of their former human selves, however in this form a vampire lacks most of their physical enhancements. When the Vampire transforms, their skin becomes deathly pale, their fingernails grow into cruel, razor sharp claws, and their fangs extend. Vampires extend their fangs, but don't need to fully transform to feed.
In his transformed state, Celestino possesses the following abilities.
Superhuman Strength: Celestino is able to lift approximately 1 ½ ton.
Superhuman Speed: Celestino can run at 45 mph
Superhuman Stamina: Celestino is able to remain active for the entire night, he is able to exert himself at peak capacity for around 4 hours.
Superhuman Agility: Comparable to speed.
Superhuman Reflexes: Comparable to speed.
Superhuman Durability: Vampires are extremely durable and have vast tolerance for pain. However, they are vulnerable to piercing weapons.
Weaknesses
Psychological Flaws:
As old and powerful as he is, he hates to fight. Anything that needs to be solved he will try to solve with words before violence. which means he rarely attacks first.
Physical Flaws:
The Sun: Since the beginning of civilization, the sun has always been the most powerful object of human faith. Merely feeling the rays of the sun will sear and eventually incinerate a vampire. Older vampires are weaker to the sun and burn more quickly. However, indirect sunlight (as in the case of heavy overcast) is only mildly painful to vampires, but if they spend too much time in indirect light they will develop a condition similar to human sunburn.
Objects of Faith: An object that has been blessed by a priest or other religious guru will harm and repel vampires. Vampires cannot step onto hallowed ground and can be repeled by a priest simply saying the name of the lord. When in the presence of a Vampire the object will glow with white fire. These objects will burn the vampire on contact and weaken them rapidly.
Dogwood: The wood from which The Cross was made from. Driven through the flesh it can cause debilitating pain and if driven through the heart it can cause nearly instant death.
Fire: The flesh and bone and muscle of Vampires is much more flammable than that of ordinary mortals and catches fire much more quickly.
Beheading: Nothing, not even a Vampire, can survive a beheading.
Magic: Vampires are unable to channel magical energy the way that humans are.
Other Flaws:
Stamina: His stamina while flying is connected to his physical stamina. So, he couldn't fight till exhausted, and then fly away. Also it is easier for him to sustain flight for prolonged periods in higher altitudes than it is to fly near the ground. Flying near the ground can also be very dangerous, as the potential to crash increases.
Brief History: Celestino was born in the year 1483. He has very few cohesive memories of his human life. What memories he has are of the omnipresent Italian heat, the scratching of chalk on canvas, and the clinking of stone on chisel. The face of his mother has long since vanished from his mind but the bond between them is something he never will forget.
He remembers that it was his modeling that led to his change. The ruling vampire of Florence sought him out to be his model. As time passed their relationship grew and the older vampire thought often of transforming him, Celestino even asked for it a number of times, but the vampire always refused. It was only after Celestino's mother died that he finally changed him.
As was considered proper he spent the next 150 years learning the Code of vampires from his maker. His Maker also left other marks on his personality, teaching Celestino that every human life had the potential to be great. Celestino loved his Maker dearly but as always Maker and Made must part.
For the next few centuries Celestino wandered, never settling in one place for more than a year or two. For a while he joined with a Coven in Paris. Having been alone for several years he was shocked and disgusted by their feeding habits. His master had always held human life in high regard and Celestino always tried to feed on criminals or multiple people so no innocent would die. But the Parisian vampires delighted in the slaughter of their human victims. He tried desperately to change their habits, but they refused and he left.
His time with the Paris Coven highlighted what he thought to be a barbaric feeding habit among his kind. He began speaking to other vampires about the potential of their 'food'. He found that many older vampires had been worshiped as avatars of justice or war, who fed on criminals and other scum, many of his own era agreed that they shouldn't over-feed or torture there victims but that, at the same time, they weren't going to waste time feeding from five victims when they could find one to do the job.
He accepted their feeding habits, he couldn't fault them for it, they were his own after all. His largest problem was with the younger generation of vampires, who fed voraciously on humans without care for their lives or potentials. He began trying to change their ways but was met with great resistance, very few vampires wanted to give up the lives they had.
Reason for being on AM: To advocate the rights of humanity in the face of supernatural creatures who view them as cattle and playthings.
