Buffy walked around on her own lost in thoughts. Dawn and the others seemed to be elsewhere doing their own things. That left Buffy by herself, not that she minded that or anything but still. Anyway, She looked around as she walked. She was completely lost in her own thoughts even so here and there she made sure that no one followed her and all that. After all she couldn't be more careful and she knew that very well. Buffy wondered where Anya and Spike were but she wasn't trying to do anything to figure that out, just yet. She was going to do that a while later so but not just yet so. Buffy however still hoped that they all would be fine and that she would hear about them soon. Just as she hoped to see the others later, she also hoped to see Spike and Anya later too.
Buffy hoped that Xander finally found out that Anya is a live as she knew that he missed her a lot and that he needed her. After all he annoyed her a lot by talking a lot about Anya and how much he missed her. As well as he spoke about other things too. It was basically why she hoped that they would meet if they hadn't already. Buffy just hoped that Xander won't need to tell her again about how much he missed Anya and how much he needed her and all that. Anyway, Buffy shock her head from that thoughts and sighed as she looked around. She watched people walk by her as she sighed once she noticed that none of them were familiar to her.

The soft clicking of high heels against pavement was barely audible above the continuous chatter of New York life, but Cordelia was currently managing to drown out most of the noise as she made her way down the street. Her straight chestnut hair hung lose around her shoulders, and the currently troubled expression in her hazel eyes was hidden away by the designer shades that adorned her face. Clearly, something was distracting the brunette as she strode briskly down the sidewalk. And that something...happened to be a vision. Yep, another one. Typically, the visions came to Cordy when The Powers That Be felt the need to warn her of someone in trouble; someone she needed to help...but this most recent one had left her a bit puzzled, to say the least.
Two people in a cafe, two women, blonde and brunette. No...not people, demons. Well, she could sense that one of them was, anyway. The other was something...something even darker. Something Cordelia didn't have a name for. She hadn't been able to gather much more information than that; the vision had come in flashes that had all been bizarrely angled and annoyingly brief, almost as if there was some force obstructing them. All in all, none of it sounded good.
And so the brunette had set off in search of the cafe, figuring that even if the two suspicious characters were no longer present, she might be able to ask around at the cafe and see if what vague description of the two she could give provoked any recognition from the local management. So she was going in, alone and unsure of what she might find...unsure of what she was looking for, even. Her attention never-the-less remained fixed on reaching her destination however; she was sure she'd seen that particular cafe somewhere in this area...
It was then that, preoccupied with searching the surrounding buildings for any familiar features, Cordy nearly walked right into a certain ex-cheerleading vampire slayer. Realizing that she was in danger of collision only just in time, she stopped and stumbled back a pace, glancing distractedly at the woman she'd almost shouldered into. "Oops. Sorry." Cordy apologized somewhat dismissively, moving to veer around the stranger...until, with a double-take, she realized that this person wasn't as much of a stranger as she'd initially thought. Blinking rapidly behind her Prada sunglasses, the half-demon took in the appearance of the girl she hadn't seen since her high school days. A long time ago, sure...literally another life-time for Cordelia, in fact. And yet, the person who saved your life and the world time after time wasn't a face you really forgot.
Plus. This chick had been her rival homecoming queen candidate. And Cordy never forgot the face of her competition.
"Oh my god. Buffy Summers?!" escaped the brunette's mouth as she gaped openly at the slayer. Buffy looked...different. Not so much physically, but there was...something in her eyes. Something wary and somber. She most definitely wasn't the peppy, airy blonde high schooler Cordelia had once known.

When she collided with someone she sighed and looked up as she heard what the person said as she was about to reply but froze for a second in stead. "It's fine. That is OK as that happens a lot so no need to worry about it but I am surprised that it is you. Not that it's a bad thing or anything but I am still surprised just the same" was all Buffy said Which was true and it was easy to see in her face. She looked down then back at her not sure what else to say or do next. Buffy waited for her to speak again.
She looked at her for a while not saying nothing else for now just watching her. Buffy was definitely speechless as she never expected to see Cordelia there. It was an interesting surprise but since they both changed it wasn't as bad. In high school she couldn't stand her but she started to like her a little in L.A but she wasn't sure if Cordelia remembered or not. Yet she wasn't surprised either way really after everything she heard.
"Cordelia? Hey you. Long time no see. How have you been?" she smiled as she saw her. Buffy watched her and sighed she could very well tell that Cordelia was different then when they first met in high school of Sunnydale. "You remember the one time we met as I visited L.A? I am sure you do, unless I am wrong? I heard that you died so but I guess I must have heard wrong" he looked down then back at her as she said this.

The brunette arched an eyebrow inquisitively as Buffy informed her that she hadn't expected to run into Cordelia here. Well, that made two of them. In fact, Buffy Summers was probably one of the last people she would have imagined herself running into on the streets of New York - she'd have figured Buffy to be more of an L.A. type of girl. Or at the very least, she'd have expected the slayer and the rest of the Scooby Gang to run off to the next hellmouth since the apparent destruction of Sunnydale. Either The Powers That Be had decided to have a bit of fun with this whole fate thing, or this was just one really big coincidence. Personally, she was kind of hoping for the latter. Cordy was pretty sure she'd had just about enough divine interference.
She allowed a brief, startled laugh as she was greeted with the traditional 'long time, no see'. "Uh, yeah. Tell me about it. You visited Angel lately? Last time you swung around, he wouldn't stop brooding for a month." Cordy rolled her eyes quickly, but otherwise managed to contain most of her disdain regarding the matter. She'd never quite understood the dynamic between Buffy and Angel, or what what it was exactly that drew them to each other...seeing as all they seemed to do was make each other miserable. And it hadn't been something she'd particularly cared about...right up until the time when she'd begun to consider Angel one of her closest friends. And, alright, eventually a little more than that. But this wasn't a jealous-catfight-type cynicism that the brunette was currently concentrating into the rather appraising look she'd currently fixed Buffy with. No, this was more of a 'break my best friend's heart again and I punch you in the face' type of thing.
You know. Pretty casual.
Her demeanor relaxed into a one that was a bit less guarded, however, when Buffy inquired about her well-fare in a way that could safely be described as friendly. After regarding her warily for a moment longer, she managed to cease her inward bristling long enough to offer a tentative smile. "I've been alright. Still getting visions. Still kickin' ass. Y'know, the usual. And I'd bet it's pretty safe to say the same goes for you...well, not the whole vision thing, but whatever." She gave a slight shrug, cutting herself off before she could begin rambling just in time to consider Buffy's next comment.
Oh boy. The whole death thing. That was always fun to discuss, and she couldn't say she was exactly surprised that word had gotten around to Buffy. Did...that mean she had been speaking to Angel lately? Or perhaps the blonde being clued into this whole thing was thanks to someone like Fred - she and Willow had struck up an odd sort of friendship the last time the witch had visited Los Angeles. Cordelia could just picture the dramatic straight-out-of-a-soap-opera scene that might have played out between the two - Fred had never exactly been subtle with her emotions. She chuckled affectionately on behalf of the slightly geeky brunette, and finally responded to Buffy's words with a casual pfft. "Long story short, The Powers can't quite decide whether they want me alive or dead. They can be kinda flighty that way. Though word on the street is you're not exactly unfamiliar with return trips from the other side either." Cordy could remember the day they'd been informed that Buffy was dead all too well - that'd been another one of those slayer-related heartbreaking experiences for Angel. And then, months later, Buffy was back - just like that. Should've known no demon out there was gonna be able to keep the girl down for long.
"So, uh...what brings you all the way out to New York, anyway?"

Buffy watched her and sighed after she said that she didn't expect to see her, it wasn't as she meant it to seem mean or anything it was just that as far as she was concerned Cordelia died in the hospital without coming out from a coma and now she was in front of her, it was more then she expected. Not to say that she wasn't glad to see her as it wasn't true, she really was glad to see her. Just it took her rather by surprise is all but then again if she heard about her death then she probably didn't expect to see her either. It won't surprise Buffy if that was the case. Buffy knew that even if Cordy knew that she was alive she still thought that Buffy would be elsewhere then there, if so it didn't surprise her because Buffy herself expected Cordelia to be elsewhere if she was alive but it wasn't the case, evidently.
She looked at her and lifted an eye brow at her. "Well there is obviously time to catch up now, and me? No, did you? Well it's not my doing, he acts the way he acts, you know it or you should anyway." Buffy watched her and sighed. She hated hurting Angel but things happened beyond their control, she knew that he didn't want to hurt her either but things happened the way they did without them planning on it, even if both felt terrible about it. However, unfortunately it wasn't up to them, even if she doubted that Cordelia knew and understood it. Anyway, Buffy watched her as she saw the look on her face and sighed. "I don't hurt him because I want to, there are things that are beyond our control. I am sorry it happened but it's not up to me and him, ya know? So don't give me that look, I had been through a lot as it is, Some of slayers died in the big fight, Anya died and Xander lost his eye, we all almost died and believe me I thought about Angel a lot, Spike too but that is besides the point. I can't be with him because the whole soul thing, and am not responsible for that either! I wish none of us got hurt, Cordelia." Not that she cared if Cordelia believed her or not but still.
Buffy sighed as she wondered what would Cordelia say or do next. Not that she would be surprised with anything as nothing about Cordelia surprised her anymore, as she was used to everything, or so she thought anyway. However, Buffy was curious to know anyway. As Cordelia at times could surprise you or so Buffy believed as it happened once or twice so she couldn't be too sure that it would or not happen again.
She watched her and sighed, as she really did care for her which was why she asked about her. Buffy could tell that Cordelia noticed that or it looked that way to her as she looked down then back at her, and when Cordelia smiled at her she just smiled back. "Really? That's good and you do? That's interesting! Well that is good, that is how it should be, yep that is right, except the visions part of course. Yeah, exactly" she said as she laughed a bit about the visions part, not in a mean or cruel way so of course. Buffy watched her as she said what she said next as she waited for a reply.
She looked down then back at her and sighed, as she hoped that they won;t start fighting right there and then as she wasn't in the mood for that at all. Buffy picked up an eye brow again as Cordelia burst out laughing over sudden. She wondered what was she thinking about that made her burst out laughing. Yet, for now Buffy shock tat thought out of her head. Then when Cordelia started talking again she listened once more. "I see, well at least you weren't pulled out of heaven like me by your friends, never mind that so. Sounds like it but then again they are weird all the time, aren't they? No am not, I died twice already, not fun at all, not planning to ever die again that's for sure" she looked down then back at her. "How's everyone? Unless you haven't seen them yet, did you?" Buffy said over sudden curious.
"Well me and my sister, and Willow, Xander and some of the slayers came here for a bit to relax and breath a fresh air, what about you?"
