When the man with the bright red hair offered a response to her alcohol-related inquiry, Anya finally snapped her gaze back to him, shooting a frown that came off as both disgruntled and puzzled his way. No alcohol. Well, that news had served to bring her already-irritable mood down several notches. "No, not really." she grumbled in response when the man asked whether she'd expected such a thing to be allowed at a school dance. "But I suppose the possibility that one of these numbskull delinquents would sneak some in was too much to hope for." Humans. They weren't good for anything. Rolling her eyes, she turned to pour herself a glass of punch anyway (to her displeasure, she was finding that her new human body required hydration much more frequently than her demon one had), when...she was distracted by the sudden appearance of something on four legs. Something that seemed to be...wearing some sort of superhero costume?
It took Anya a moment of staring to realize what it was: a dog. Or more specifically, the dog that she'd seen running around campus once or twice. Of all the ridiculous....well, at least dogs were a smidge more tolerable (and more intelligent) than humans in her book, but still. She didn't want that thing coming near her! It might try to...do something disgustingly adorable. Anya paused to glare uncertainly at the canine, hoping to scare it off before it could even reach them, but....that was when an unpleasant screeching sounded from somewhere near the wall.
Wincing at the sound, the ex-demon whipped around to find that the strange man who'd dancing with the rich girl a moment ago was now....proceeding to drag his claws...along the wall. God! What was wrong with these people? Anya snatched up a glass from the table and had half-raised her arm to throw it at him in hopes of getting him to shut up when...she realized he was spelling something out. As the girl he'd been mooning over rushed to try and dissuade him, Anya tilted her head slightly, her gaze fixed on the words being carved into the wall. ....Oh....oh God...not....it couldn't be....but it was. Some sappy, spontaneous, horribly heartfelt declaration of love! Out of sheer shock and disdain, Anya lowered her arm and gaped at the scene before her. "....You have got to be kidding me...."
Humans. Were. Disgusting.
The whole spectacle didn't quite look like it was having its desired effect, however. While it had undoubtedly captured the attention of everyone in the room, Bao Yu didn't look too thrilled about the whole thing. Ooh. Maybe they'd fight! But before Anya could get her hopes up, a blood-curdling scream rang out from somewhere in the back. Momentarily distracted, the ex-demon glanced in the direction the sound had come from. Sounded like someone was in trouble! ....Sucked for them. When she glanced back at the couple, however, it was only to find that somewhere amidst the chaos Bao Yu had left the man's side. Well. There went the entertainment for the night.
Predictably, most of the humans present reacted in a similar way to the situation: they ran. Anya took a step back to avoid being ran over by the crowd of terrified students, her eyes narrowed a fraction. ...Two of the students, however, responded rather...oddly. Instead of fleeing from whatever it was causing this sudden mass hysteria, the man with the red hair and the girl in the cat mask were...making there way in the direction that the scream had sounded from? How stupidly courageous of them. Though Anya herself held no particular concern for whoever had cried out, she was sort of curious to see what these two would find. ...Hell, this was the most exciting thing that had happened all night.
Trailing after the girl in the cat mask, Anya made her way past the shredded curtains and nonchalantly paused at the edge of the gore-and-blood-splattered mess before them. Hmm. It sort of looked like one of her better vengeance spells. She wrinkled her nose slightly at the smell, allowing her eyes to wander carefully over the scene while the red-haired man stood grinning, and the blonde girl spluttered out a demand to know what was going on. "Well obviously, something's dead. Or someone, probably." the ex-demon commented bluntly. Her light brown gaze settled on a splattering of blood that was...very distinctive from the rest. It was almost....forming a trail? Like whatever had made this mess had dragged someone off in that particular direction.
Dryly pointing a finger at her discovery, Anya added, "I'm guessing whatever did it went that way."
