"Er...miss? Are you alright?"
Well wasn't that the question of the day. Effie didn't really know if she was alright; she was still trying to figure out how she'd ended up unconscious on the sidewalk, of all places. She wasn't unconscious now, of course - that would've just been silly - but there was no doubt that she had been a moment ago. And this...man that was looming over her. What on earth was he doing?
...A...PEACEMAKER. Or an agent of the Capitol! That was what he was! Why else would he be in such obnoxiously close proximity to her - and who else would have knocked her onto the ground and out cold? Her eyes narrowed immediately, and she managed to shove herself up into a sitting position and scoot away from the stranger as best she could. "That's close enough!" she squeaked out irritably, bracing herself lest he try plunging a needle into her arm or something of that nature. "I - I'm warning you. As a member of the rebellion, I'm entitled to...certain measures of protection! Yes, and if you lay hand on me again, Katniss Everdeen will not be happy. She won the Hunger Games, you know, and -" Effie broke off upon taking in the utterly baffled expression on the man's face. Well...at least he was backing away from her. Evidently, her little threat had done the trick.
Trying to regain at least a smidge of dignity, Effie rose to her feet and briefly checked herself over. She seemed...generally intact. No major injuries or, thank goodness, tears in her clothing. And...oh what was this? Her purse was at her feet. Well, whoever had brought her here wasn't completely inconsiderate, at least. Smoothing her bright pink curls into place, Effie cleared her throat and turned back to the man with every intention of demanding he tell her exactly what was going on. Except, he still had that odd look on his face. She frowned at him. "...Why are you looking at me like that? I'm not crazy. And it's impolite to stare." The comment seemed to jar him out of his little chance, and, probably feeling that this crazy lady didn't need any kind of help he could offer, he turned and hurried away.
...What? Placing a hand angrily on her hip, she dropped her jaw slightly at this injustice. "Excuse me! Where are you going? You can't just -" But apparently he could just, because he didn't so much as cast her a look over his shoulder as he hurried off. Well. That was just wonderful for him. He could just carry on with his day, and leave her to...to...what? Where was she, exactly? Bending and scooping up her bag, Effie turned skeptically to survey this odd place she seemed to have been dragged to.
...Only to find that it was much, much stranger than she'd originally labeled it. All around her, there were buildings that scraped the sky. Strange cars with even stranger people in them that in no way resembled anyone that the pink-haired woman had ever seen before. "Oh...oh my..." Effie murmured to herself, taking a step back.
This wasn't the Capitol. This wasn't District Twelve. This wasn't...any sort of place she'd ever seen before...

Holding onto the straps of her back pack whistling some random carefree tune, she had a full tummy from winning some eating contest but left before her name could get on some kinda plaque. Having people know she was somewhere didn't seem like an idea. There was some haunting feeling as though she was always being watched...maybe even followed. Wasn't just the usual paranoia either, it seemed extremely deep seeded...as though there was something out there hunting her down and dealing with em' again...not so smart. So being safe instead of sorry, she ditched any efforts to leave bread crumbs showing her food filled adventures. The weird feeling was stronger in some areas than others...but it was ALWAYS there. Feeling a chill run down her spine at the thought, she shook her head and turned her attention toward some sort of commotion in mid note.
Blinking a couple of times...it was hard to hear but someone WAS flipping out without a doubt. Liking to think of herself as a hero, she figured it'd be a good deed to check on this pink haired lady and see if she needed any help! Picking up her pace a bit, she skit to a stop on the heels of her brown boots and stopped near the pink haired woman before bringing up a gloved hand to poke away at her shoulder. The blonde put on a nervously big smile before blurting out in a casual...yet...really tomboyishly thoughtful tone, "Oh! Hey, lady! Are you lost or something?" Flashing off her teeth in a grin, she pointed over to herself with her thumb before closing her eyes and introducing herself, "The name's Terra, I'm trying to be a super hero!"
OH THE UPBEAT CONFIDENCE SHE HAD WITH THOSE WORDS! up until she looked on the nervous side and let out a little laugh to match her composure while slapping her hand to the back of her pretty blonde head while reopening her sky blue eyes. "Eh...heh...heh...that...came out a little strange...but it's true. UH...so how can I help?" The traveler who followed the wind couldn't help but try to sound a little more confident toward the end really hoping she could be of some use rather than none at all. Lowering her hand to leave them both at her sides, the scrawny hopeful hero looked up at her wondering what she was gonna end up doing to be some form of helpful.

It was almost an automatic response for Effie to cringe a little at the blatantly casual way in which she was suddenly addressed, but at the moment she was a little too overwhelmed by both her complete bewilderment at her current circumstances, and her curiosity regarding who was speaking to her currently to react with her usual disapproval. She turned slightly to face the girl who wanted to know whether or not she was lost - a brightly smiling blonde who seemed to be somewhere in her mid-teens. Perhaps a year or two younger than Katniss if Effie had to place a guess. "That...would seem to be the case, yes." she admitted begrudgingly, because really this whole thing was extremely embarrassing. How had she become so disoriented that she couldn't even recognize a location within her own country? She'd traveled all over Panem, and yet could not for the life of her remember seeing a place like this.
The girl then introduced herself as Terra and mentioned her ambition to be a super hero, to which Effie arched an eyebrow. She wasn't precisely sure what Terra meant by 'super hero', but it sounded dangerous - didn't she know not to speak so openly?! "Shh," Effie hushed her quickly, taking a swift glance around to make sure they were not being eavesdropped on. "You - you shouldn't talk that way, you know. If the Capitol ever heard you..." She trailed off, appalled by the very possibility. If the Capitol heard talk of heroes and martyrs, they'd most likely assume that Terra was one of the rebels...and have her killed before she could blink. Still, the fact that they hadn't been immediately attacked suggested that they were probably safe for now at least, and Effie figured she could relax long enough to at least observe a few social courtesies. The blonde had introduced herself just now, and it was only polite that Effie do the same.
Clearing her throat and attempting to maintain some level of formality, she gave a small smile in return. "My name is Effie, Effie Trinket - escort of District Twelve." She didn't attempt to explain further, for surely this didn't need explaining. The Hunger Games weren't exactly something you could remain oblivious to. She gave a small pause as she considered the girl's offer of help; she did seem to have found herself in a position where she sort of...needed it, it was true. "Well...if you could start by telling me where we are, I'd appreciate it. Which District is this?" Her gaze passed warily over the line of skyscraping buildings that surrounded them, and then settled back on Terra again. Poor Effie - little did she know that almost...nothing she'd said so far was probably going to sound like it made much sense. At all.

So she was lost after all, that sucked for her but HEY! Good news was she could do something heroic and help someone in need! This was so cool and she would try her best to do a REALLY good job at it! Before she could do anything to start her self appointed mission to help the lady with flamingo pink hair, it seemed like she went on about something regarding `the Capitol`...okie dokie then. Juuust a little odd, maybe she was talking about the nation's capitol or maybe the capitol of New York...? Even shhh'd her before saying that...uh...ok maybe she WASN'T talking about landmarks. There was no such thing as a DANGEROUS capitol as far as she knew so at the moment she was looking a tad bit puzzled...was trying to be a super hero a bad thing?
No way...well...there were some people who still were like `rawr rawr super heroes rawr!` but she hardly paid any mind to him since she felt like all heroes did society a whole lot of good! Sure cleaned up the zombies...er...A WHOLE LOT SO MOST OF the zombies and without heroes it would have taken so much longer! Oh well...how to talk to this lady...? Well actually flamingo pink haired lady was named Effie Trinket escort of District Twelve. Odd name...oh well not like her's was any more normal! In fact she couldn't even RECALL a last name of her very own, just the name Terra after her powers flipped out in school. BUUUT NOW WASN'T THE TIME TO THINK ABOUT THAT! The question almost seemed normal...it was so close to being KINDA normal up until she tossed in the part about what District they're in....watching her look around and then looking right back to her...she tried to keep up a happy composure.
"No offense but your name's kinda a bit of a mouth full so I'm just gonna call you Effie for short!" Shoving her hands into the pockets of her shorts while taking note of the people gawking at the two like a pair of weirdos. Pffff jerks....not like they were actually going to help this lady! "Lessee...I've never seen anyone get in trouble for being a super hero...uh..." Looking up as though she JUST remembered something...like how there were SOME people who were far from thrilled about heroes and actually acted on it...trailing off juuust a bit as she continued, "...not...lately anyway...." Slapping on that smile and showing off a happy composure, she continued on with her little response and even tugged her hands out of her moment to flatten out her palms and swish them from left to right crossing over for the first two sentences before returning her gloved hands to her pockets, "But don't worry 'bout that! It's pretty safe! Er...right...moving on, I'm not sure about the District...you're in New York City, ya know the Big Apple! Unless you don't....then I gotta ask how you got here in the first place without seeing a single sign."
Blinking a bit while lifting her hand up to point over to a big ol' sign that said `NEW YORK'S BEST PIZZA!` complete with a smiley face munching away on a pizza slice. Kinda looking like `Oooh you're making a funny joke, right? You can't be serious about that...right?`

In all honesty, Effie...wasn't really sure what to make of this girl. She wasn't sure she'd ever met a teenager who was quite so happy and upbeat - unless you counted one of the children from The Capitol, but Terra hardly seemed like the type. As the blonde decided aloud to stick with calling her...well, by her first name, Effie could only nod uncertainly. Odd, really, that her title or even the name District Twelve hadn't seemed to spark any sort of recognition...or maybe she was just imagining that it hadn't. For the moment, she attempted to shrug it off.
So Terra had never attracted any sort of trouble before for being one of these 'super heroes'? Maybe this was one of those Districts where the Peacemakers were a little more lenient, had less contact with the Capitol, and allowed this sort of thing to carry on. District Twelve had been a bit like that before all the commotion surrounding Katniss and Peeta had started. Yes, that was a possibility. Or maybe she was just desperate enough to cling to the hope that it might be. "Uhm, well..." Effie began hesitantly, trying to decide what to make of all this while providing a prompt response at the same time."What exactly does being a super hero...entail?" Vigilantes and martyrs of any sort didn't tend to survive long, but maybe Terra just meant she did...little good deeds around the city, or something like that. She certainly seemed to be at least trying to be helpful now, at least. But Effie was brought sharply out of her musings on this when the teen answered her previous question.
'New York City'? 'The Big Apple'? What on earth did any of that mean? For a moment Effie considered the possibility that Terra might be joking, or...maybe just crazy. It was then that she mentioned the signs, however, which caused the pink-haired woman to do a double-take. Slowly, she turned in the direction that Terra had indicated and, upon finally noticing the not-so-subtle advertisement that indeed confirmed that they were in a place called 'New York'. And apparently, they had lots and lots of...pizza. Whatever that was. Spluttering slightly in her complete bewilderment, she whirled around to gape at Terra again, some of her previously calm demeanor slipping away due to her astonishment.
"But I - I don't know how I got here." she squeaked out at last in an attempt explain why she hadn't noticed a sign before, trying not to come off as completely frantic as she was currently feeling. "I just...I woke up. On the sidewalk. Just now. I thought..." She trailed off, trying to think on whether or not she'd ever heard the name 'New York City' before. It just sounded so...so foreign; she couldn't imagine a place like this existing without the Capitol's knowledge. Unless...a thought suddenly occurred to her. And as outrageous as it seemed, if it were true it would certainly explain quite a bit about what was going on here. "...This isn't Panem, is it?" Effie managed after a moment. She hadn't the faintest idea how in the world she'd managed to leave Panem - was there even a world outside of Panem? - but at the same time, she knew a place like this couldn't possibly exist within its boundaries. She paused for a moment, trying to remember. What was the last thing she could recall happening before she'd blacked out? Being locked up by the Capitol, and then questioned on Katniss' whereabouts...the Capitol...of course.
What if this was all a trick? Some sort of virtual...mind game, or something?! Nearly hyperventilating at the thought, Effie half deliriously reached forward and tentatively poked Terra on the shoulder. "Are you real?! ...Surely, none of this can be real..."

TALL BUILDINGS!!!!! Nyan-Cat SO loved tall buidlings! She loved to climb up on them and watch the world go by. She imagined herself being a giant as she sat on top of a tall building, and Nyan just LOVED giants!!!
As her little stream of colory-farts pushed her forward towards a building, she saw a perfect spot to sit down. While licking at her poptart to get high on a sugar-rush, she noticed people talking to eachother way down.
YAY PEOPLE!!!!! They always made such good friends, and Nyan-Cat just LOVED friends. While the sugar kicked in, Nyan jumped up, and down the building she went, covering the glasses with an colory oily substance. The building seemed happy now, so Nyan got even more happy and psyched up about meeting the people.
As Nyan got closer, she tilted her pixelly head to the side, purring softly. As she noticed she wasn't heared, she decided to put it up a notch.
nyan?
She asked, a 'little louder' now. she just hoped the people would notice her now. Oh how Nyan wanted to plaaaaaaay!

Wow....this lady didn't know what a super hero was? Man was she behind the times! But that was ok! The blonde was on a mission to help and part of helping was answering questions to get rid of confusion! "It's saving peoples and being cool, of course! All super heroes are really cool, you know? They help people out of trouble...sometimes people get a little upset for some reason but A LOT more people are glad they're around!"
Saying those words as though she was some mega messiah of hope or something about all heroes everywhere. Looking a bit surprised at the realization she should PROBABLY explain why more people would be happy about heroes! Normally it was common sense but today's person to help was clearly disoriented or something so she quickly added, "Cause heroes save lives and keep people everywhere safe! That's why I'm trying really hard to be one!" The try really hard part came from her powers being...well...not so easy to control. It was really strange but she had a strong feeling that once upon a time she had control over them. The blonde's memories were so scrambled though, she didn't even recall having what most people had: a family.
Uhhhh let alone most of her childhood...so that could explain A LOT of why she had trouble with her powers. Seemed like bit by bit she was getting the hang of em' though...enough not to destroy a city via accidental volcano. Before she could blabber on more about super heroes and their amazing coolness, it seemed like the pink haired lady known as Effie didn't know how she got there. Quirking a brow and giving a frown of concerned confusion for her uncommon predicament....it was kinda like her where she just sort of woke up one day then tried having a life. Just as she was about to say a little remark about her crappy predicament, the strangest foreigner she ever met said something about a place called Panem. OH MY GOSH SHE WAS A TIME OR DIMENSIONAL TRAVELER! HOW COOL! Lighting up like a magical Christmas tree, she brought her hands out of her pockets, excitedly clenching them into fists a couple inches away from her chest wiggling them out of the `OH YAY` bubbling in her brain and getting wide eyed in awe.
THIS WAS LIKE THE BEST DAY EVER!!! "COOL! You must be from another dimension or maybe the future! What's it like? Are there lots of robots? OR SPACE COLONIES!" Getting up on her tip toes with big wide eyes and a huge grin....she then popped her happy composure bubble with complete and utter confusion. Looking down at herself while the air started to smell of happiness and strawberries, she began patting away at herself. Shoulders....check....tummy....check....legs....check....
"Uh...I'm pretty sure I'm real...I should probably ask if you're real if anything seeing how you're talking about something no one's heard of here...." letting her words trail off...the strawberry smell went up a whole bunch of notches and in the process of looking around to figure out where the delicious smell was coming from....a....building was covered in rainbows? Blinking a whole bunch from the EXTREME weirdness of this day...her hands dropped to their sides and ...then flung forward as her eyes widened once more at the SUPER loud NYAN. It was so adorable sounding but her scrawny little body felt like a gust of SUPER HAPPINESS AND RAINBOWS knocked her off balance causing the blonde to faceplant fall to the ground. Scrambling back to her feet and turning her attention to the poptart cat thing...that...looked like something from an 8bit game. "Cute...but uh...I....don't think this is normal...." Reaching over to the strange thing resembling a kitten, she put her palm on its pixely looking head in an attempt to pet it while sweetly, yet full of tomboyish nature commented, "Hey kitty...where'd you come from, huh?" This day was, as some people would put it, like an acid trip....whatever that meant....

'Saving' people? Saving them from what? The concept that Terra was describing was one Effie found absolutely baffling, and her eyes widened slightly as she attempted to take this information in. So super heroes got people out of trouble, which in her mind stuck out significantly from keeping them out of trouble the way the Peacemakers claimed to. Heroes actually rescued people, people who evidently needed rescuing, and...whatever government had jurisdiction over these lands didn't have a problem with that? Well...that was certainly...Effie didn't know what to think about that, actually. "Oh...I see." she replied weakly, still wondering if this was all some sort of bizarre, Capitol drug-induced dream. "And the government here...they don't have a problem with this? They leave you alone?"
It seemed too good to be true; unimaginable really. But judging from the looks of things in this city and what Terra was telling her, it seemed that this was a society in which whoever was in charge was significantly less restrictive than The Capitol was. Effie really hadn't a clue what to think about any of this, or about how she'd even managed to get away from Panem for starters. The whole thing seemed a little too good to be true. The theories that Terra presented about the matter certainly weren't ones that she'd even begun to consider, although now she was realizing that she was going to have to accept that they were very much possible. It wasn't like she could come up with anything more plausible. Still, while Terra seemed to brighten at the thought, Effie gave a troubled frown. "Space colonies? N-no, the Capitol wouldn't allow anything like that. They don't like people getting those sorts of ideas..." she replied, shaking her head. If the Capitol was involved with space travel, it was kept heavily under wraps as far as she knew. They most likely didn't want anyone getting ideas about 'new frontiers' and taking away from the general claustrophobic feeling of Panem. As for what Effie's world happened to be like, well...she wasn't sure how to answer that. She felt a bit guilty dampening Terra's spirits. "It's...well, it's certainly nothing like this. What year is it now?" she asked quickly.
Effie had thought a lot of things about herself over the years, held plenty of opinions - but never had she thought of herself not being real. She of course felt real, but wasn't really sure how to put her certainty into words - and then, before she could ponder this further, the arrival of a...very strange creature interrupted her thought process.
It seemed to be a cat. A small, grey, rather adorable cat. Yet...Effie could honestly say she'd never seen a cat like this before. Its body seemed to be made up of some strange...pastry-like object that the pink-haired woman was unfamiliar with, not to mention the odd trail of rainbow...substance that seemed to follow it like a comet's tail wherever it went. Effie blinked in surprise. What was this? A mutt-tation? Did mutt-tations even exist in this world? Usually the creatures that the Capitol genetically engineered served some sort of purpose - the tracker jackers were like homing missles, the jabberjays played the role of spies - but...if there was a purpose to the creature before her, Effie really didn't see what it could be. Unless it was to be senselessly cute, or something.
Terra didn't seem particularly perturbed by the cat's presence, even bending down to speak to it. And seeing as the blonde knew a lot more about this world than she did at this point, Effie decided to follow suit and at least make an effort to hide her doubts about this creature. And of course, she hardly wanted to be rude. So following suit, she knelt to gaze at the feline with an uncertain smile. "She is...sweet, in a way. And she doesn't seem particularly dangerous..." she said in what was more an attempt to convince herself than Terra.

OH YAY! Both of the people wanted to play with her! Nyan flipped her tail from left to right, leaving a splotch of rainbow behind her everytime she moved. One of them even petted her!
Though the one standing behind seemed a bit uncertain, Nyan-Cat's mind translated it as being paralyzed by happiness. The little kitten was so good at what she did. So she did what every sensible Nyan would do, she walked up to that girl, her little eyes beaming up to her.
nyan?
She spoke, just knowing that her words was exactly what this human needed. As she jumped insanely happy up and down to make the two happy, poofy gas came with farting noises out of her butt. The sound made her curious, and she went to check what it was. While sniffing her behind, letting the sweet scent reach far into her nose, she discovered something was moving!!!
In an instant little Nyan was chasing her own tail, leaving a trail of putty rainbow in her wake.

Thinking about what Effie said about the whole Capitol thing...they sounded really uptight and boring to boot! Sure, she would admit that the law enforcement people could be a bit uptight but it's not like anyone was saying `NO TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENTS EVER TO SPACE`! Ok so maybe she wasn't going to point out how there were times heroes got trouble, mostly because those reasons were REALLY stupid, something about them being destructive. Honestly, Terra may not have had perfect control over her powers but she TRIED she really and truly TRIED her best not to make a total disaster of things, especially in the city. Things didn't always work out or fall into place like she had hoped and unintentionally destroyed a few small cities that were so unimportant that the media didn't dwell on it for long aside from `tragic natural disasters` destroying them. It wasn't easy to get her powers under control when she was going all out, so she did her very best to avoid that like the plague. Her sadness drowned and suffocated itself as she continued petting the strange feline's head with a sweet smile...huh...it smelled a whole lot like strawberries, almost like a dessert shop selling ONLY strawberry sweets.
When the weird kitty averted its attention to her pink haired buddy who was clearly REALLY confused due to being in some time frame or even universe that was DEFINITELY not her own, she looked over to...the rainbow trail of...ok she didn't know what that was but she didn't want to know. Before she was PROBABLY farting up rainbow clouds and now chasing her tail and leaving...uh...maybe rainbow diarrhea? Awkward....it didn't smell bad at all...scratching her cheek out of confusion, this cat thing seemed so silly...well at least it was a happy little thing, right? Oh! Right! A look of slight surprise and realization made itself obvious as she slightly widened her eyes and turned her head toward Effie. She REALLY shouldn't let her ADD get the best of her in the midst of someone she was trying to help! "Oh! Uhm...right! I didn't get to answer your questions! The Capitol sounds boring, you should stay here. Heroes are appreciated by lots of people! They don't get trouble unless they do something like damage buildings, theeen law enforcers get mad. BUT that doesn't happen often!"
Slightly flailing her arms a bit as though she was trying to cover up something...or worried that she was going to get the wrong idea...then held her hands up, palms facing Effie at the level of her face before blinking a couple times..."Uhhh and it's...two thousand something...I haven't looked at a calendar in a really long time and I don't have a phone..." Adding a bit of a nervous laugh, she was CERTAIN without so much as a doubt that she was viewed as a bit of a weirdo for not having a good concept of time let alone something common like a phone! Putting her hands behind her head, she wtched the cat and couldn't help but look juuust a bit confused while staring down at the freakishly cute thing. "Should we try to find this little guy's owner? Or maybe it followed you here...?" Shrugging a bit while quirking her brows, she lightly rocked on her heels trying to figure out the best thing to do. Seriously...this situation was so foreign that it was as if everything was in Chinese crossed with French trying to develop a new language!
What to do what to dooo! Bah...she'd figure out what the right HEROIC thing was in due time...but she figured it was best to see if Effie wanted to pitch any ideas regarding this whole lost...uh....cat thing scenario....

This was so uncool. Not only was Soul following a damned rainbow trail out of boredom, but he was incredibly bored doing so. This wasn't even a mission, he was just out following a rainbow trail out of boredom. That took some serious boredom to get someone like Soul to follow something like a rainbow trail. In his mind, rainbow trails were not his definition of cool. However, the payoff of the little adventure was even worse. It was a small, pixelly kitten in between two pop tarts. How much lamer could you even get? And it was even chasing it's tail. That had to be the single lamest thing Soul had ever seen in his entire life. Then again, what did he expect from something that left something as uncool as rainbows?
The two people standing near the cat seemed pretty cool, though. Better than the cat at least. As the cat chased it's tail near them, Soul caught the distinct scent of strawberry. What the hell was that thing? The weapon soon approached the others, trying to ignore the cat. "Hey." He said, still doing his best to keep the cat out of his mind. But it was hard, seeing as it was a pixelly kitten that was constantly spurting rainbows out of it's ass. No, it was just too hard to ignore, Soul had to ask about the thing or else he'd end up walking away sooner than he'd hoped.
"Do any of you have any idea what the hell that thing is?" Soul asked, pointing a thumb back at the cat. If they didn't, he would end up in eternal confusion as to why there was a bouncing, rainbow-crapping pixel cat around this place. "The names Soul, by the way." He said, introducing himself, before turning back to the strange cat. Now he was starting to care just a bit less about it. It seemed kinda lame anyway, there was no reason to put his attention to that.

This entire situation was just getting weirder and weirder by the moment! Effie blinked down at the cat as it approached her, seeming just as cheerful and as far from dangerous as it ever had, and yet...there really was something unnatural about it. But really, she tried to reason as it chirped out a cute little sound that seemed to be directed at her, it couldn't possibly be capable of doing much harm...still, it seemed to have boundless amounts of energy. And rainbows coming out of its...erm, rear. Which probably would've been unpleasant if it weren't for the accompanying smell of strawberries. She arched an eyebrow as it began to chase its tail, unsure whether to be amused or exasperated. Apart from the obvious, it didn't seem to be much more than...well, a normal cat. "Yes. Um. Hello." she greeted it with a vague smile, trying not to let on that she was still busy trying to make sense of its very existence.
The moment Terra answered her, however, Effie's attention abruptly switched to the blonde again. "Boring?" she repeated, as if the word were new to her. She considered for a moment. "They're...they're terrifying. From what I've seen, your world and your life here really do seem wonderful in comparison - and you sound like you're speaking form experience regarding the whole hero thing - but I really should be getting back..." It was her responsibility, after all. She could hardly just stay here in a world she had no place in, and she wasn't sure she could live with herself not knowing the fate of the rebellion and all of those involved. But...there was just one question. How was she supposed to go about 'getting back'? Especially when it was year two-thousand something; such a distant past that this...come to think of it, this was probably the North America of legend! No, this wouldn't do at all...
She blinked at Terra, trying to decide which of her numerous questions to ask first. Questions like whether time travel was possible in this world, or why Terra...didn't exactly seem to be sure of the year herself. Before Effie could say anything, however, the blonde reminded her that they still had their new feline friend to deal with. Right. They seemed to be in a bit of a predicament regarding what to do with the creature, and Effie...supposed she should try to lend a hand before embarking on any attempts to get out of here. With a contemplative frown, she replied to the notion of the cat following here with "She doesn't look like any creature from my world. None that I'm familiar with, anyway." Still, the pink-haired woman gave a shrug. Perhaps it was possible. "But I suppose we can't just...leave it here and run the risk of it getting hit by some sort of vehicle. Is there...a place were you can take...lost animals, or something?"
But really, Effie was obviously at a bit of a loss. She hadn't the faintest idea how this world worked, or which courses of action were acceptable, or - oh, and who was this? She turned to stare at the pale-haired boy who'd just approached and greeted them, allowing a somewhat tentative smile in her own form of greeting. More strangers - well that was no surprise, she was fairly certain she wasn't going to be running into any familiar faces any time soon - but he seemed rather baffled by the strange feline's presence as well. In response to his question, Effie glanced at Terra, half-wondering if she could give a better answer than the one Effie was about to, and then gave a faint shrug. "I haven't a clue. Apart from it having distinctive...cat-like qualities. was Effie's uncertain reply, her gaze switching to the feline again for a moment. Such strange, strange creatures that inhabited this world - although if Soul and Terra's reactions to this cat were anything to go by, perhaps not all the animals here were quite so odd."I was thinking that - erm, that this sort of thing was considered normal around here, but apparently not." And that was probably a good thing. She wasn't sure how much more insanity she could handle at the moment. Stressed as she might have been, however, it was not lost on Effie that now was the moment she needed to introduce herself to this boy - and she could at least do so in a somewhat respectable manner. "My name is Effie Trinket." she added, straightening her posture a little and giving Soul a tiny nod before pausing a moment to allow Terra to introduce herself as well.
