((OOC: Slight liberties taken with perceptions here, also, evil characters who wanna say hi, Ahrimans looking for ya))
Jimmy was still getting used to the city-life. While he had somewhere to sleep now thanks to Anya, he did feel bad constantly taking advantage of her kindness. Which was why he was now walking down a city-street and looking for jobs somewhere. He had his jacket on, zipped up most of the way and his hands firmly buried in the pockets as he stared at his feet and tried to think of where he could possibly get a job.
"Hello, young man! What's that? You want a job? Well, sure! Now, what's your social security number? You don't know? Well, what I.D do you have? Huh, this is weird, this doesn't look valid. Say, just who are you again? Don't worry, I'm sure the police will be able to help- STOP THAT GUY!"
Even in his imagination this didn't end with him getting money. He could start pick-pocketing. As Ahriman he was definitely fast enough, but the problem was mainly that they felt him coming. In fact, he thought, that one little side effect was so much more of a problem than it was useful. Yeah, it was always nice being able to terrify a mugger into realising the error of their ways and optionally causing them to wet themselves, but it meant that even when he helped people they thought he was worse than what he saved them from. If he flew in and stopped a suicide, the most good it would do would be to convince the guy Hell definitely DOES exist and the demons are out and about walking.
Err... Anya not withstanding.
Sighing, Jimmy frowned as he took a step onto the corner of a new block. He glanced up and saw the street sign looked odd, it was dark red rather than the usual colour. He took a few steps back and read it carefully, the letters were distinctive enough but it said..
"<- Inferno Lunacy->"
"The corner of Inferno and Lunacy?" Jimmy raised an eyebrow. Now, this was a problem. He stared at the sign hoping for a double vision problem but nothing came of it. So, not an illusion. Which meant this was real, or a kind of real. He noticed a few other people standing on the street, a couple running up and down shouting at each other, but whenever they rounded a corner they emerged from the far one. He groaned and pinched his eyes, this was some kind of trap.
He took a few steps back and looked out realising that all he saw across the street was himself looking back in the same position. Well, at least he could make sense of this. They could walk in but they couldn't walk out because they entered a...
"Pocket Dimension? That's pretty cool actually. All centered around this block..." Jimmy decided to see what buildings were on this block, strolling around until he found one that was obviously suspicious. He smacked his fore-head and groaned loudly
"9 Circles Incorporated"
"Someone's a little fixated" Jimmy muttered, staring at the business sign and silently wishing he didn't have to deal with this... whatever this was. Ahri attack? Some kind of mental assault? A genuine DEMON messing with him? Well, he was gonna find out... for better or worse...
Jimmy rested his hand on the door before looking around, was anyone else on this block following his train of thought? He might not be able to transform but he would really like some company walking into this... thing.
