It had been a bit of a trip, that much was sure. And a long one, at that. It wasn't as if it was unbearable -- oh far from it, in truth -- but....he just wasn't used to travelling for any extended amount of time. And his latest trip had been quite extensive compared to his usual travels. In most cases he rarely ventured far from the Vatican, and when he did, he usually went no further than the surrounding countries -- a journey of less than an hour, with the means available to him.
So the much longer journey across the sea -- all on a whim, no less -- to the United States of America had been....taxing. And he was, quite frankly, glad to be in the open where he could freely move about once again.
The giant of a priest stuck out like a single working Christmas light in a string of blown lights. He easily towered over every other person he passed -- even the ones who were considered tall in their own right still stood on average nearly an entire foot shorter than he did. It was something he was all too used to and which had long since ceased to even be of any importance to him or even of any consequence. But to those around him....it easily caught many curious looks and even several stares. His attire earned just as many odd looks, but these were far more scarce.
For perhaps the tenth time, he adjusted his glasses, catching the light with them for a moment and producing a glare in the lenses which obscured his eyes. And his mind drifted back to the source of his urge to travel here. A report had reached him -- a mere rumor, in truth -- of a supposed 'demon sighting'. It was only of note because of the source it had come from, and even that made it only a minor concern. It was inconsequential at best, and a minor curiosity at worst.
But upon personally looking at the report in full, it became quite clear to him it was worth at least a personal look into the matter. And so here he was -- on the equivalent of a wild goose chase, perhaps -- and searching for something only vaguely hinted at. "Masquerading as a human, indeed..." he grumbled under his breath. It was not unheard of for such to happen, but for it to actually be of any note was unheard of. I cannae b'lieve what th' report says could be true... It seems tae be counter-productive t'what a demon would do. Unholy creatures....why waste time playin' about wi' body parts and flittin' around as some nurse?
Letting his thoughts trail off, he shook his head with a frustrated sigh. His arms, previously folded casually behind his back, dropped to either side, his hands curled into loose fists. I suppose tha's why we humans cannae understan' them.... We only know what they allow us tae know. We've had a time to learn of them, aye, but they still have some surprises up their damned sleeves... Tricky little things; crafty as all Hell and not e'en worth sparing a thought o' pity for....and cunnin', to boot.
The fact that it was a 'demon sighting' on its own wasn't enough to get Anderson her -- that could have just as easily been handed over to any other agent already here. What had served to bring him here was the rest of the report -- the apparent grade of the demon as reported by the sighter, the story that had been given with it, as well as the fact it had been delivered in person -- all of it together was enough to warrant an excursion of his own interest in a pre-emption of the directive he was sure to receive in short order regardless.
Unfortunately, the report had been scarce on details -- such things from this particular sighter always were. And so he had frustratingly little to go on, it would seem....

TODAY WAS SUCH A LOVELY AND GLORIOUS DAY! Oh yes it was indeed for you see the woman with big fluffy crazy locks wearing a ruby trimmed grin of delight had been doing such a wonderful job for the hospital! Human organs had to be one of her absolute FAVORITE things in the whole wide world! Collecting them was like some sort of messed up blessing for her since she got to see oh so many different organs all the time. Some were the same in terms of type but certainly she could tell they were unique in their very own way. From blood type to tissue, she was always in awe and wonder when dealing with a beautiful specimen! Holding onto a clip board with those white lacey gloved hands of her, the amber eyed demonness couldn't help but coo out in glee, "My oh my I only have to find one more naughty little organ thief and I'll be on my merry way to a job VERY well done~! I feel like I'm walking on sunshine~!"
Following those words up with a giggle as she brought her free hand upon her cheek, walking along in the crowd. With a clickity clack upon the cement as the soles of her ivory boots tapped upon the surface below...suddenly she got a whole bunch of chills going through her body just before widening her eyes like a deer in headlights! Admittedly, she could do a pretty good imitation of freaked out animals about to be smashed to death by a fast moving vehicle. Of course she stopped in her tracks then glanced around wondering where oh where tha-OH DEAR HELL'S PANCAKES THAT WAS A TALL PRIEST! Or at least it looked and radiated of a priest......since as he got closer and closer the chills started to become slight pins and needles. Oh snap...this was not one of those priests who messed around using their title and clothes as a facade to do disgusting things that would make most demons flail and cheer in delight! Definitely not something she viewed as a laugh worthy manner....but she still had a bit of a smile and...let out a slightly nervous chuckle...while walking backwards before crouching down weaving around the crowd.
"My oh my it seems this may be a bit of a problem...or...maybe I'm worrying too much...mmmmm yes this could very well go juuuust fine if I'm careful! Hnnn...I really should stop talking to myself out loud...such a horrible habit...oh well~! Here goes something that may or may not result in terrible injury!" Muttering those words delightfully under her breath while getting odd looks from some passerby just before shoving the clip board into the opening of her v-cut frilly white shirt with sleeves ending just at the elbows causing her paper work to vanish out of sight. Standing upright while humming out the melody `Walking on Sunshine`having a slight seductive hip sway to each step, the demon nurse happily tried to walk on by the big scary priest...who she MIGHT have bumped into because some idiot decided to be pushy AND rude regardless of the fact this woman was wearing such feminine attire including a skirt ending at her knees! Letting out a surprised yelp of sorts, she hoped to Lucifer that she didn't make contact with the REALLY big blonde priest man otherwise it was going to stiiiiiiing! In fact she hoped the floor would be the one cushioning her loss of balance fall...

((OOC: To get back into the action, COMPLICATIONS!))
So, New York is strange. Jimmy should expect this since he was living with a female demon. Well, living with, sleeping in her spare-room. Which leads to why he was now wandering around New York, he was trying to make some money so he could pay Anya something for the privelage of... well, mooching off her.
He was strolling through the streets when he spotted two different things. One was a strange woman, dressed oddly and generally giving off an air of absolutely terrifying. She was sashaying down the street pretty handily and giving off the impression of being a Nurse... or a stripper with a medical theme? He wasn't completely sure. But either way she was strutting her stuff down the street and walking towards some HUGE guy. He had shortish blond hair and was clearly not from around here. He seemed to be setting a fairly wide berth from sheer value of his unbelievable height.
Unfortunately, one person ended up pushing the nurse and she was about to fall to the floor. It was strange, but when you knew what you SHOULD do, even if it meant consequences you don't want, sometimes you did it. With a brief flicker, his body shrunk, his skin turned pale and his body began to radiate a dreadful aura of evil. In a second he was at the nurse's side, holding his arms out as she fell and reverting as fast he could so he could catch her without stabbing her.
But the damage had been done, the few people who had been near him when he moved had felt the sudden fear from his aura and were looking around for some sign of where it had come from. It was a standard reaction, an unknown predator was threatening them, they had to locate it to protect themselves. Jimmy just hoped he wouldn't have to face any consequences to his good deed "Are you alright?" he asked the nurse, already mentally chastising himself. There was something weird about her though, not that it bothered him. His own sense of evil beings was significantly hampered by the fact he had a constant background fuzz over his own senses where HIS aura came from.
Still, at least she hadn't bumped into that guy. He looked like a priest from here. Good thing he'd reverted before he'd been near the cross...
((OOC: Poor poor Jimmy...))

He stopped in mid-ramble when something caught his attention. Not anything around him, oh no; he was far too deep in his own thoughts to be pulled out of them by anything short of danger to himself or anyone else nearby. It was more of a....prickling at the base of his skull. That inexplicable crawling feeling of pure dread and unearthly presence most people got when in the vicinity of....something they couldn't explain. And it caused him to stop fully, standing stock-still and eyes wide and alert behind his glasses.
He didn't just get that feeling out of nowhere; he'd seen far too much and fought far too many creatures to just lose his cool so easily. There were scant few things which actually 'scared' the Paladin anymore; only the threat of straying from God's will or other such high-ranking threats had that capability anymore. To al other things....it would be the equivalent of a hammer beating against a great wall; perhaps noticable, but hardly worth any looking into.
So the fact that this feeling; this base fear and crawling had jumped into his skull....it meant something.
He had noticed the nurse several paces back; he may have been absorbed in his thoughts but he was far from blind or ignorant. What he did not immediately connect, however, was that as he drew steadily closer to said nurse, that persistent, warning crawling in his skull had grown slowly more and more persistent. He could only blink in nothing short of amazement when some poor fool pushed the poor woman aside as if she weren't even there. A sharp frown creased his face at that; were the manners that far gone here? To compound matters, the offender just continued on like nothing had even happened.
In any other situation, Anderson might have pulled the man back to at the least apologize to the poor woman, but something else demanded more....urgent attention.
In the time it took him to blink, the woman had been safely caught, it would seem, by someone who had clearly not been within range to catch her, or Anderson was a fish. This caused a distinct narrowing of his eyes, and his trademark glare flashed into the lenses, reflecting light that wasn't there. He resumed his walk forward, though now making his way directly toward the little 'incident', such as it were. His stride was slow and normal, but with his rather massive height, it ate up the short distance in just a few simple steps.
"Ah, good tae see someone's got a bit o' decency," he said cheerfully, stopping just out of arm's reach of the two, his expression now completely flipped into the most cheerful, pleasant thing you could imagine -- the perfect model of a good priest. "It's good tha' ye reacted so quickly thar, lad. Else....things might've gotten a bit unpleasant fer the lass." He inclined his head in a short nod, then turned to the nurse. "I do hope you're alright, by th' way."

IT FELT LIKE HOME SWEET HELLISH HOME~! Well...in the distance...seeing how there was an incredibly familiar aura born of a nature reminiscent of her home in hell. It even made brief contact with her for a moment but when she looked to see who in the world caught her...it...was a normal human? Wearing a crimson smile of sheer confusion, she shrugged it off and wrapped her arms around her savior of falling into Mr. BIG HOLY SHNIKIES SCARY PRIEST as though he was a life-size teddy bear to spam with hugs. "My my! Thank you so very much! I must say you're a hero among heroes! Certainly the fall would have been oh so very painful, don't you think?"
Adding a nervous laugh, as though to say `PLEASEHELPME!!!`in the form of a chuckle. EEP BUT THE HOLINESS GOT CLOSER! Quickly turning to see the priest and tightened her grasp who...did...not...look happy. Maybe...she should ask him if he wanted a happy meal or something?! OH DEAR HELLISH MISERY MEAL MONDAYS HE WAS SUPER CLOSE NOW! Tightening her grasp almost feeling like a horror movie victim those silly humans would watch for a thrill or whatever...like the killer was RIGHT in front of her. With slightly wide eyes as she looked at him become so...happy...and....pleasant....maybe she didn't need to offer him a plethora of happy meals?
Still this was pretty terrifying by her standards since most priests DID NOT give her the chills as bad as this guy did. The priest sounded cheerful enough...couldn't POSSIBLY be so dangerous....OH TO HELL WITH IT SHE STILL WAS A BIT NERVOUS! Good thing her composure could be taken as aftershock from the fall or else this would probably be plain old awkward. Gradually releasing her brown haired hero of the day and standing next to him...ok...she had to keep cool...keeeeeep cool....ice cold....chilllll! The only solace in all of this was...well...the scary priest guy was on a good mood. OH PRETTY SYRINGES FROM HELL HE WAS TALKING TO HER NOW! Bringing a hand up to her cheek as she tried to look a little more calm, she coo'd out in such a velvety manner, "Oh how lovely, I do appreciate your wish of good will, priest! So many pushy people...I'm such a fragile thing, still a bit startled from it all~!"
As though she was trying to keep upbeat about the whole thing, she lightly tilted her head and looked a little concerned even though she still had a smile on her face...even her tone hinted off some worry "The thought of possibly being trampled by an uncaring crowd on top of skinning my knee and ruining my stockings too...it isn't pleasant at all...buuuut..." Her smile eased up as she lowered her hand to put it behind her back. Even her tone seemed to lighten up like someone just offered to give her something wonderful...like pancakes! "I was lucky someone was nice enough to make sure such a horrible thing wouldn't happen!" Bringing her hand up to point it at the guy next to her like he was a prize behind the curtain of some game show as she continued "This wonderful guy right here that I don't even know! He must have a heart made of gold, don't you think so?"
Flashing off some of her pearly whites with that smile...oh she REALLY hoped this was going to go not so miserably! For good measure, she lightly wiggled her hands...you know for that little extra added effect. Sparkle sparkle~!
