Jio Freed was not in control of his body. Not at all, actually. In the place of the boy was the lord of Hell himself - Satan. It was nighttime, of course. The only time where Satan saw it fit to forcibly reveal himself. The demonic face of Satan had replaced the young face of Jio Freed. His entire form had become taller, more muscled in structure. It was clear that this was not only a demon, but a powerful one as well. "Heh... where has he taken me now?" Satan said, his voice sounding quite a bit like a distorted version of Jio's. He was still in the boy's body, he couldn't change his voice entirely.
Satan saw several signs saying that he was in New York. Not that it truly mattered. The devil went where he pleased and didn't quite care just where that was. The only setback being that it was the boy - Jio - who took him places. The child was the only thing holding him back now. There was only one way to gain complete control over this body, and he'd already tried it. Hopefully he'd eventually be freed from this prison by Jio's death. If only there were some way to bring the boy's death about himself... Until then, Satan was somewhat thankful to be in an OPTS' body instead of an average human's.
The streets of New York were oddly quiet that night. Perhaps Satan's presence had scared the people away - perhaps they were all simply busy. Whatever the reason, it was too quiet for Satan's comfort. Quiet usually meant something was coming. Perhaps Metatron had targeted him again. Satan grinned. The number one angel could be dealt with quickly, no matter what had happened before.

There was another demon nearby. Ruby could've sensed it if she'd been blindfolded, but what actually threw her off...was how this being looked. As she peered carefully out at him from a nearby alleyway, she noted immediately how...well, inhuman his face appeared. He was blatantly demonic in a way that most demons weren't. 'Most demons' being, well...every demon Ruby had ever met before. Huh. How very interesting.
What was more, his presence in the city seemed to be scaring off the majority of the civilians who would've been out and enjoying the nightlife right about now. Not that Ruby particularly killed; the less obnoxious humans around, the better, in her not-so-humble opinion. But still, she had to wonder why this stranger wasn't being a little more careful. He was going to draw the wrong sort of attention to himself - in fact, she half-wondered whether it'd be a better idea to get out of here before a couple of hunters showed up. This guy looked like he probably had plenty of them on his tail. Yet...she had to wonder just what he was up to. There was only so many demons that could coexist in a city like this without trouble breaking out - and she thought it might be prudent to make sure this newcomer wasn't going to be getting in her way any time soon.
Of course, approaching any demon was still something of a risk for her these days. Though it had been Ruby who'd finally gotten the best of the Winchesters, and Ruby who'd indirectly released Lucifer from hell - the rumors of her being a 'traitor' still hadn't been fully quelled. As far as she could see, though, there was only one demon present at the moment - nothing she couldn't handle.
So as he swept past her, Ruby stepped out of the shadows of the alleyway and fixed him with a rather skeptical gaze, her eyebrows raised slightly to emphasize the fact that she was currently less than impressed that the other demon didn't seem to have much regard for the attention he could potentially be drawing to himself at all. "So is the art of subtlety completely lost on you, or do you just like the attention?" she drawled after a moment of looking him up and down.

Another demon was nearby. Not one that Satan knew, though. That in it of itself was strange. As the lord of all demons he should have been aware of which demon it was and why it was there. The thought of a rogue demon amused Satan. As if it could escape him. So, it turned out Jio was useful for something after all. He'd brought him right to some rogue demon who'd forgotten it's master. Satan grinned, his large fang showing. At that very moment a voice came from behind him. The voice was oddly human. Yet, Satan knew it was the escaped demon. He turned around, looking the demon over.
"Do you think you can hide in that pathetic form?" Satan asked, crossing his arms. Just who was this demon? She didn't seem like any demon Satan had known before. This was both somewhat amusing and somewhat unsettling. It was unlike Satan to simply forget demons. He knew every demon in Hell and was not about to allow one to escape his grasp and slip his mind. And then the demon shot a mocking comment at him. Who did this demon think she was? Was she truly that defiant of her master to mock him and pretend as if he didn't know who he was? This would earn her an eternity in Hell.
"Hmhmm... you're going to mock me now?" Satan's eyes flashed red as four large tentacles sprouted from his back. "Have you forgotten who your true master is?" Satan smirked, waiting for a response.

She studied his face for a moment, her expression one of mild interest - and then, upon hearing his question, her smile faded slightly and one eyebrow arched up in a refined 'excuse me?' -esque stare. ..Hide? He actually seemed surprised to realize that she was possessing someone, which was most certainly a reaction she'd never gotten from another demon before. Still, Ruby wasn't one to allow any amount of confusion to stump her for long. She looked him over once, noting his inhumanly sharp teeth as he grinned - and simply blinked. "What's the matter, Cujo? Don't like my meatsuit?" the demoness asked with mock hurt, pretending to pout for a moment before allowing her smirk to return."I see you just...haven't bothered with one. And how's that working out for you? The humans must just love that." In fact, if this was how this demon looked all the time, she wasn't quite sure how he got by. Surely the humans never gave him any peace...
Ruby shrugged it off. It wasn't any of her concern, though she was vaguely curious about this...being. She crossed her arms across her chest as he questioned her mocking him - giving a slight roll of her eyes in response. "Well, I was, but if you're just going to narrate everything I do I won't bother," she shot back with her trademark snark. Though her statement wasn't completely true - she didn't intend to stop mocking him by any means. It was just too much fun. Her dark eyes, which had brightened slightly in amusement, locked on his - only to witness them flash red briefly. Red eyes? It was a trait she'd only ever seen before in crossroads demons, but surely he couldn't be one of those. They were always sure to take human form - it helped them seal more deals that way.
And what was this crap he was implying about him being her master? Ruby's eyes widened in disdainful surprise at the claim. Just who did this demon think he was? She pretended to consider his question for a moment as the whip-like tentacles sprouted from his back. "...Doc Ock? No, wait, actually..." Stepping further into the light as she sized him up, Ruby fixed the other demon with a cool glare. "The only master I answer to doesn't happen to be anywhere near here at the moment...lucky for you. I'm not quite sure how He'd take to a...whatever you are." Though her words were quick and casual, the demoness had tensed slightly - if he intended to attack her, she'd be ready.

For a brief moment Satan stared at her blankly. Was she trying to mock him? Was this demon really so defiant that she would make fun of him? What became a loud, insane laugh started as a slight chuckle which quickly elevated. She was truly trying to make fun of him? She'd already escaped Hell without getting permission and roamed the universe for some unholy amount of time. The laugh died down and Satan stared up at her, his wide grin still as cruel and hateful as ever. "You idiot! Don't you recognize who I am? You can't hide from me in the body of a human!"
It was a tad hypocritical, of course. The Prince of Lies wouldn't be telling the truth, would he? The boy, Jio, was his containing body. It was simply his features that changed whenever his demonic side came out. It was better that way, at any rate. He would much rather be able to look like a demon than be stuck in the body of some stupid boy. Apparently this demon thought looking like a human was better for some reason. Perhaps she was one of those morons who wished they were a human for some reason. Satan didn't give her next words a response. He didn't feel as though they deserved one from him.
"Let me guess..." Satan's grin widened. "Your master is another one of those damn fools calling themselves Lucifer?" It seemed to be a trend nowadays. Everyone with an O-Part all of a sudden thought they were the Devil and went around getting followers. This demon was one of them who'd forgotten who the real Lucifer is...

Ruby could only sort of...frown at him as he began to laugh. That wasn't a reaction she got too often. She raised her eyebrows slightly as his chuckling turned into a full-blown cackle, like a villain straight out of one of those...movies humans adored so much. Someone had a flair for the dramatic, evidently. She waited until he was quite finished laughing, and then briefly commented, "Don't strain yourself there, slugger." Seriously though, she had not signed up for this. Demons really were getting crazier and crazier these days. "If I wanted to hide from you, would we be having this conversation right now?" Really, Ruby wasn't quite sure why he thought she should be hiding from him - perhaps he was one of those demons who thought all too highly of their own power?
Whatever the case was, she was quickly growing tired of the circles their conversation was running in, and a part of her was beginning to think that perhaps it'd be best to turn and walk off, leaving this guy to his insane antics. But at the same time, another part of Ruby was undeniably curious about this stranger. Especially when he spoke again, implying...that he seemed to think there were actually demons out there claiming to be Lucifer when they weren't? ...How would something like that even work? And if there were people out there doing it, she wasn't sure why she hadn't heard about it before now. And for whatever reason, he seemed to find the whole thing very amusing. Ruby, however, was not particularly entertained.
"I wasn't aware that He had impersonators." she remarked coolly, reflecting that it really was a shame she had yet to get her knife back from the Winchesters. It certainly could have come in handy in a situation like this. "You know what they say, though. Imitation is the highest form of flattery." And the most annoying form of flattery as well, but there you had it. Her smirk faded as she spoke again, more seriously this time. "But no, I happen to follow Lucifer himself. You know, I'm not sure how someone can convincingly pretend to be an fallen angel who's been imprisoned in Hell for the past few centuries...but I'd really like to see 'em give it a go. They sound almost as crazy as you are." Rolling her eyes again, Ruby cast a glance up at the moon the same way a human might glance at a clock on the wall. It was getting late. Just how long were they going to play this little game for?

As soon as Ruby spoke again, Satan's grin stretched out wider. Well, this would be very interesting, wouldn't it? A demon thinking they could insult her true master and go on about some random mockery is the real Satan. The lord of demons rubbed his hands together and smiled a great big mocking smile. "We wouldn't be having it, would we?" Satan asked, stopping with his back turned to Ruby. "Though if you hadn't been hiding I would have seen you in Hell quite a while ago. It must have been a long time hiding... Are you afraid of Hell?" Turning around, the Devil shook his head tauntingly. "Honestly if you were that afraid you could have killed yourself..."
Letting out a small, 'tut-tut' noise, Satan waited for a response. Most demons were afraid of Hell - it was a place of torture for those who failed, a place of brief respite for those who had accomplished what Satan had ordered and only a place of living for the Devil himself. At least, before he was captured and placed in a child's body. At least he would still have the power to destroy this demon before she could decided to follow whatever false Lucifer she was following. The demon lord sighed, as if disappointed. "I expected much more from the demons here..."
Satan raised an eyebrow before chuckling a bit at her description of him. "Trapped?" A wide grin spread over his already contorted face. "What sort of Satan impersonator are you following? Is it one of those mopey ones who thinks I'm so sympathetic? Do tell me he antagonizes those who think I'm evil!" Chuckling again, Satan crossed his arms and waited. He did hope it was one of those. They were always so easy to manipulate into believing that he was trying to help them.

Afraid of hell? ...Afraid of hell? He said that as if anyone in their right mind wouldn't be afraid of hell. The first time she'd experienced it, when she'd actually been made a demon, had been bad enough. It had been about three times worse when Lilith had dragged her back down there after her betrayal. Maybe this demon had experienced hell a few too many times as well. It would explain his...complete lack of sanity. "Yeah, I don't really make a point of...sticking around down there. The eternal torture thing gets a little old." Ruby ground out dryly, wondering exactly why she had to explain that hell was the last place she - or any demon - wanted to be. They spent their whole time there trying to claw their way out, after all. "But if you've got a problem with demons avoiding hell, you might wanna make an announcement or something. Send out a memo. You know, 'Crazy Lucifer Wannabe, Calling All Demons Back to Hell'. 'Cause in case you didn't know, there are quite a few of us up here." She wondered briefly whether he'd accuse all of them of 'hiding' as well, and then shrugged inwardly. Why did she even care what this looney tune had to say?
She kept her dark gaze trained on him, tense and watchful for any sign that he might become aggressive. The demoness had to roll her eyes, however, when he commented that he had expected more of her. Well. Next time she'd remember to jump through hoops while juggling flaming batons, because of course the only thing on her mind was impressing this guy! "And I would have expected more of a Satan-impersonator. You could have at least done your research first." Ruby told him with a slight scoff. Seriously, this guy wasn't doing anything close to a good impression of Lucifer's calm, calculating, yet quietly and terribly ominous personality. She opened her mouth to explain this to him...yet fell silent when he spoke again.
Ruby...could only blink. Once. Twice. 'Evil'? He was seriously throwing around words like evil? Now, Lucifer certainly...well yeah, okay, he was evil, but he was much to subtle to ever refer to himself using such a blatant word. What was this, a comic book? "Seriously though, your complexity is astounding. The whole one-dimensional evil thing. Really god-like." Less than impressed with the 'cackling big-bad evil' thing, Ruby had to wonder whether maybe this was all...some kind of elaborate show; his way of trying to catch her off-guard. Or maybe this clown had actually been recruited by Lucifer himself, and this was a way of testing her faith...ensuring that she was still loyal to him. Either way, it was getting pretty damn irritating. She wasn't sure how much more of this her patience would be able to take.
Tapping her fingers lightly against her crossed arms, Ruby narrowed her eyes a fraction. "So, we done here, or what? The folks at the funny farm have probably noticed you're gone by now - might wanna be headed back there."
