The first thing that hit him upon opening his eyes was the searing pain in his skull. It felt as if someone had taken a sledgehammer to his head and left him out to die. Of course, such a wound was no more than a minor hindrance to the Paladin, but it still left a lasting migraine. Though the pain he felt now was...different. Instead of the dull ache of a migraine, it was...fresher, more insistent. Lifting a hand to his temple, he placed his palm against his forehead and immediately winced with pain, jerking his hand away.

The pristine white gloves, already covered with a thick layer of dirt and dust, now bore a clear print of blood from an impossible wound in his head. Impossible because a wound of the size it was should have healed long ago. But there it was, plain as day: a bleeding wound, explaining the long-since foreign pain in his skull.

Slowly he pushed himself up to stand, shakily. He stumbled once, catching himself against a near wall, before he got his footing. Aside from the wound in his head, and a general sense of ache and unease, he appeared mostly unharmed and fine, if heavily disoriented. A slow, sweeping glance of the area told him next to nothing about where he might be.

Only that it was old, and seemed abandoned or in very poor repair. He approached the door of the building he had found himself in -- what seemed a small home of some sort, and tested it, only to find it locked. His brow furrowed in minor irritation, and he sighed, drawing slightly back and throwing his shoulder against the door. It creaked heavily and splintered, flying well off its hinges.

He straightened his posture and stepped carefully over the broken door and out into the streets, staring around. "....what in th' name o' God...." His stare was blank and lost. "....where'm I...?"

Without his powers, Lucifer felt rather... human. It was a disgusting feeling, being brought down to the level of the very creatures he was going to destroy... and the beings that were the cause of his banishment to Hell and his Father's practical abandonment of his only worthy children, the angels. The humans were a horrific race and becoming one was just as disgusting as Lucifer would expect it to be. Lucifer stared at the door of the shack he'd awoken in. In it were two humans, apparently crazed, who were attempting to create a fire. Lucifer had taken his archangel blade from his coat and used it to kill the two. It had left quite a bloody mess, but that didn't matter to Lucifer. The more human blood spilled the better, actually...

Lucifer walked over to the door and tried to shove it open. His angelic strength had also disappeared it seemed, since the door didn't even budge. Lucifer scowled. Having human strength was so different from his normal strength... He took a nearby chair and hurled it at the door. It opened with a loud bang. Lucifer walked out of the shack, archangel blade in hand. He was met with a foggy street. It looked normal, but it had with it a horrible sense of being watched. Lucifer didn't like this at all... Without his powers he only had the combat skill of being a soldier of God to rely on. The archangel took a few steps into the streets, looking around at all the buildings. They were clouded from view by the fog.

Lucifer glanced around the area once more before continuing his walk through the streets. Eventually he spotted another building in the distance. In front of this one stood a man dressed in priest's garb. How easy to fool he would be.... Lucifer walked towards him and spoke. "Hello," he began, approaching as he spoke. "You must help me. I am an angel, and this land has taken my power and made me human." Coincidentally, he hadn't lied at all.
