Boopadoop~
I think it's time I redo 'dis old thing entirely BECAAAUSE I've gone through many chars and so have a few others. BASICALLY I want to know why on Earth you people chose the charries you did. I SHALL BEGIN...
SHERLOCK HOLMES
I apped Sherlock after watching the first season of Sherlock... I already loved the character by that point. It took a bit to get dat app accepted for a variety of reasons and since then Sherlock has kinda been my main account. The character is really... human, even though some people tend to turn the character into a cliche, despite the original literature character being closer to the BBC version. The writers of the show did a very good job keeping the character real, even with his incredible deductive abilities. He has flaws, certainly, but that really only makes me like the character better because he has very realistic flaws. I do have trouble RPing as him sometimes, but he's an all-around very fun character to write for.
JARETH THE GOBLIN KING
~Dance Magic Dance~
Jareth is a fun, weird character. When I was re-watching Labyrinth for the first time since I joined AM, I realized that this character could be very fun to RP. So, I decided; why not? Originally I never planned to app him and I just had him derping around in the ICC for a bit. Then I realized that I was actually having fun with RPing him and I started to write an app. The rest is history~ He's also my only character who is just absolutely ridiculous and will do just about anything because he's bored. It's honestly fun having Jareth show up and be the cause of some random event (like the monster trucks in the First Impressions thread) or just throw people into his Labyrinth for funsies. I also get to NPC a bunch of goblins and crazy things. Fun stuff.
ERIK
I honestly have no idea why I decided to app Erik. I just remember my idea of "HEY I COULD APP ERIK..." began when I watched Phantom for the first time; on a torrent of the 25th Anniversary version. At that moment I was also talking to Meekz in the cbox and I was like "HM... I COULD APP ERIK" and then... I didn't. It actually took me a while to decide to app Erik, but I eventually did! Since I've apped him I've had trouble getting threads with him, but in the threads I've had he's been great fun to RP. This section seems to be significantly shorter than the other so I will explain something random like his face-claim. His face-claim started as Ramin Karimloo, who was the actor portraying him in the 25th Anniversary video and I still like his Erik. And then I switched to Michael Crawford for like... a week and then I saw Phantom live with Hugh Panaro and I decided to use him. Then I reread the book and decided to go with Claude Rains, who really looks the part. For the deformity I used Lon Chaney who's makeup remains awesome.
BUFFY SUMMERS
Once again it begins with the watching of something, in this case rewatching. So, when I first arrived I found a baby, whaped in colth RPed with Meekz in the NEWLY-FOUNDED ICC and I saw that she was really good at RPing Anya. Which made me want to re-watch Buffy and as I did I was like "HUH. Our old Buffy never posts and I kinda want to RP her :B" SO I ASKED LEXI and she was like "okies" and I apped Buffy. Simple as that. She's been pretty fun in the few threads she's been in and it's fun having a char who pretty much fits into any situation involving monsters terrorizing the town. I also want more Buffy chars around here. Moooore.
DEAN WINCHESTER
I knew I was going to take Dean from the minute I started watching Supernatural. He's a really fun character to play because he's not always the angsty one yet he does have angst moments, because this is Supernatural. The show is... okay, used to be looking at YOU season 7 great because it kind of deconstructs everyone's views of being a monster-hunting badass guy. Instead, it shows monster-hunting as being a sucky job where most, if not all, of the people you love straight-up die. I found that a great aspect of the show and it's because I loved the show so much that I apped Dean. Even though I haven't done too much with him since I got him, he's been fun to RP, especially in threads with Gabe and Cas.
MR. GOLD
OUAT is the best thing ever and if you haven't watched it you should either watch it or shoot yourself in the foot. Mr. Gold is probably my favorite character from the show and right after I decided I would app someone from it I decided on Mr. Gold. Although I personally don't think I do too great with him, he is fun to RP especially now that we have a Belle and a Bae. I don't expect him to turn good, though, even with his family around, especially since he got to keep his magic. In fact, I expect him to continue doing what he's always done. Mr. Gold is my favorite character because he's so obsessed with power that he sacrificed the two things that could have made his life happy for it, which really shows quite a bit about him. In general he's very complex for a character who's also a fairytale...
LOKI
Welp, Loki was probably my favorite character from the Avengers and definitely my favorite character from Thor. In anticipation of the Avengers movie I decided to RP a character from one of the previous movies and I decided on Loki. I never thought I was going to app him and I honestly thought I'd have him in the ICC for just one day. And then the Avengers came out and I was amazed by Tom Hiddleston's performance as the character, so much so that I decided to app him. I've had oodles of fun with Loki since I decided to app him and I'm probably going to do a re-app in the future due to reasons of fleshing out his personality and re-doing his abilities section.
LUCIFER
Mhm, the Devil. What I like about this interpretation of the Devil is that he's actually got a personality, and a fairly complex one at that. It was actually pretty interesting seeing how Supernatural interpreted the character and actually made him something other than "HA HA EVILNESS ABOUND HERE" even though he can be like that if someone bothers him enough or if they happen to be Pagan Gods. Like all the angels, Supernatural did an amazing job taking something so often made into something boring and cliche (i.e. the Devil being a big red guy with a pitchfork that pokes people and laughs evilly at everything) into something completely new and original. He also isn't the kind of Devil that everyone who likes the Devil thinks he is. He's just... different from everyone else's interpretations.
TONY STARK / IRON MAN
Robert Downey Jr.'s performance as Tony in the Avengers was what made me want to RP him. He was just so delightfully snarky that I couldn't resist. I actually had no plans of apping him and I never even considered it before I watched the Avengers. Then I rewatched Iron Man and Iron Man 2 and decided to app him. Of course, I had him in the ICC quite a bit before I decided to actually get an app up for him and then it took a bit for the app to get accepted and THEN we will go for a horse ride lesson I started having fun with the character in threads and whatnot. He's been fun to RP and I hope we eventually get dem threads we all talked about in the cbox up x'D

SURE WHY NOT.
EPONINE THENARDIER
Um. Well. I had already been playing Eponine in a few rival RPs and I sort of joined AM without knowing of the DELIGHTFUL INSANITY that goes on on this hurr site. So, I sort of apped her thinking that there would be at least some other normal people on here. LOLNOPE. But, that's okay. I think she's cool with the insanity now. I like Les Mis and I like Eponine and that is why I apped her.
CHRISTINE DAAE
BECAUSE ERIK/CHRISTINE.
No, but really, I do like Christine and her character. I feel like by the end of the story, she's a lot stronger than she was, if not...somewhat traumatized. There's a lot to do with her character, and she's another one I play on a nearly daily basis outside of AM and I just like Phantom okay. Also, Bawb asked me too because he wanted a Christine for his Erik. So I did.
Also, Erik/Christine.
BAELFIRE
This one's simple. Watched OUAT, considered, knew Bawb wanted a Bae, and then there was Bae.

Eh, what's the harm? Did it once before, right? REV RUNNERHmm. Well, lesse... First off, Loonatics Unleashed is actually a fantastic cartoon and if you haven't seen it, you should; either that, or suffer through 8 immunization shots (which, speaking from experience, is not fun). Seriously, I love Loonatics; people are always saying it's one of Warner Bros.'s worst, but I beg to differ. And I just loved Rev from the moment I saw him and first heard him speak; and I actually find a lot in common with him. Just like Rev, once I get going on a topic I enjoy, it gets REALLY hard for me to shut up; which then correlates into someone in my company having to forcibly do it themselves. MEPHISTO PHELESAre you seriously kidding me? This guy is a freakin' genius! He's the epitome of the snarky, super-genius, bad-guy villain who's always at the heart of dem dastardly plans, sneaking his way into all the good stuff just to have the privilege of laughing his butt off at the heroes. Mephisto is a real joy to RP. He does absolutely anything he wants and damns the consequences; and that is specifically because he probably has the worst case of god complex syndrome ever to exist. He thinks this is his world and everyone and everything are his toys to do with as he pleases. Being the firstborn son of Satan and one of the most powerful demons that could ever rear its ugly head from Gehenna, he's got the power to back up his beliefs, too! BELLEIf there's one thing that I am and always will be, it is a hopeless Romantic. Beauty and the Beast has always been one of my absolute favorite tales of all time (besides Sleeping Beauty, but more on that later). When I watched Once Upon A Time, and saw their rendition of the classic tale, I was instantly hooked. Skin Deep is one of the most emotional episodes of any TV show that I've ever seen. At first, I didn't have any real itch to app Belle. I knew I wanted another OUAT character, but I was at a loss for who to choose. So, I looked at who we had already. Meeks had Regina, but I didn't really have any drive app Daniel; I just didn't really like him that much (SORRY MEEKS!). Then I was like, "Wait a minute! Bob plays Rumpelstiltskin..." (which he does FANTASTICALLY). So, then I got to thinkin'. I knew I didn't want Baelfire; I knew I'd never really be good with him. It wasn't until a couple days later that the idea really got in my head. I was walking to school and, on a whim, decided to listen to my Beauty and the Beast album. When it got to Belle (Little Town), I was thinking, "Y'know, it's not very hard to imagine myself walking through a town, my nose in a book, and deftly avoiding every mishap." After all, I'd done it LOADS of times in High School; and, let me tell you, those halls were PACKED! I still managed to finish my books though So, I paused and took a moment to reflect on the idea. Then, I thought of how much fun it could be to RP Belle! I met Meeks in the chat box (who was already debating taking Belle) and I told her that I was really getting into the idea of RPing Belle. So, she egged me on and I ended up throwing Belle into the ICC. I loved RPing her ever since. MALEFICENTOkay, first off, you're gonna have to know a simple fact: when I was little (REALLY little), Sleeping Beauty was my all time favorite movie; but not for the reasons you may think! I wasn't charmed by the romance of Prince Phillip and Princess Aurora. I wasn't struck by the beauty of the film. What got me, what really got me was Maleficent. My mom would get so sick of watching Sleeping Beauty, because every night I put it in to go to bed to; I just loved Maleficent THAT much! Some kids idolized Superman or Barbie, or Mickey Mouse. I idolized the Mistress of All Evil. She was my childhood hero (err... villain). So, you can imagine my reaction when I first saw Maleficent in OUAT (here's a clue: "OMGSQUEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!"). What I loved about OUAT's rendition of Maleficent was that they took her BEYOND the movie! She wasn't any different; she was still the evil, tyrannical Faerie I knew and loved. I didn't get upset about the whole unicorn thing because I knew Maleficent, being Maleficent, was devastated by the death of her Diablo and would search for something to fill that hole in her heart. After OUAT ended and seeing that Maleficent actually had a minimal role, I was, admittedly, a bit miffed; just a tad. I just KNEW that Maleficent had so much more potential than merely being Regina's BESTIES 4 LYFE. I love OUAT, but that was the one thing that I feel they could've done so much better on; I felt they did not give Maleficent proper justice with such a minimal role. So, I took my chance and applied for Maleficent here on AM. And I am humbled, honored, and gracious that the staff have bestowed upon me the enormous honor of roleplaying my childhood hero, the Mistress of All Evil! (And, lemme tell you, she is going to stir up A LOT more trouble than just an obstacle for Emma to overcome). JEANETTE MILLERThis one's pretty simple. I've always and forever been a Chipmunk fan and I've just had a similar connection to Jeanette as the rest of my characters; I just find a piece of me in her. So, I apped her and she was accepted. I can't do too much with her, seeing as how she's just a shy little 'Munk, but she gets around and she's adorable to RP! ^^ MERIDABrave... really and truly struck a cord within me; especially with my recent family drama that's been going on. It was also a movie of my heritage. I can't tell you how shocked I was to find my aunt was starring in a Pixar film. XD No joke, my aunt has hair that curly, that bushy (probably worse with how humid it gets where she lives); her hair, literally, defies gravity with its curl sometimes. But, mostly, Brave hit home pretty hard for me. Merida was just simply a beautiful character and after seeing Brave for the first time I just KNEW I had to app her. I just couldn't NOT do it! Bwee hee hee these threads are so much FUN! AnyaAlong with Giles and Spike, Anya has always been my favorite BTVS character. Why? because she protects me, thats why Well, she's a character that kind of shocks you with the outrageously offensive things the she says - and in a way I actually find that sort of admirable. We all have things that we want to say to people - "that dress makes you look fat" or "can you please stop talking? you're really annoying" - that most of us are too polite to actually voice. Playing Anya gives me the freedom to just hold back nothing, because she's completely unaware of how tactless she sounds - and if she were, she probably just wouldn't care. More than her uncensored hilarity, though, throughout the course of the series she becomes so incredibly human...and it's both moving and heartbreaking. Probably one of the most famous things Joss Whedon's ever written is the BTVS episode where Buffy's mother dies, and one of the most remembered moments of that episode is Anya's monologue where she struggles to understand death. All in all, my favorite quote to sum her up is this "she's not the cliche bad guy learning to become a good guy. she's a bad guy learning to be human." CastielHonestly, you can't watch Supernatural and tell me you don't love Cas. The main reason I picked him is how much he amuses me (an astounding amount, for a guy with no sense of humor) -but also, as he developed as the series went on, I became very interested in his character. Forget how they screwed him up in the later seasons; in the prime seasons of the series, Cas is suddenly forced to question everything he's ever known about what is "right" and what is "wrong". He's had to make some tough decisions - and while the show features Dean and Sam struggling with what they do, hunting monsters - Castiel's greatest struggle is dealing with humans. All in all, I picked him because I adore his character and how his development played out (sans season 6). GloryxD Oh Glory. She was the third character I ever apped here. At the time I had Anya and Cordelia, and really needed a villain. And Glory is my favorite Buffyverse villain for two reasons: 1) She's the only one without a "BWAHAHAHA DESTROY THE WORLD" motive. Sure, what she intends to do will destroy the world, but it's not that she wants to - it's that she just wants to get home, and she doesn't care about the aftermath of that. And 2) Because she is hilariously entertaining to watch. Quick-witted and snarky one moment and completely INSANE the next, she's completely unpredictable and leaves you LOLing and WTFing until you don't know what to think anymore. Plus, she's badass. IRENE ADLERRotfl Irene xD. She's a SMOOTH CRIMINAL, and yet she's not quite so bad as you'd think. Sure, she'll rob you blind if you let her. And sure, she's not the most loyal gal around (basically, her loyalties lie with whoever can offer her the most). But she's got some standards, and she sort of grows on you in her own, wily way. I picked her for two reasons: one, Bawb was apping Sherlock at the time (albeit not RDJ!Sherlock) and I was like "HMM. THIS COULD BE FUN >D". And two, I just adore said Sherlock Holmes movies, plain and simple. Say what you want about 'em - they keep you on the edge of your seat and keep you thinking, two things that are a must for any worthy part of the Sherlock Holmes franchise. RubyI picked Ruby as another villain because at the time I didn't have that many, but I've always been very interested in her character because I think there's so much more to her than meets the eye. The writers did an excellent job of keeping us ever-uncertain of whether or not we could trust her or not - AND TURNS OUT, YOU CAN'T xD. Still, I think there's a lot more humanity in Ruby than any other demon portrayed in Supernatural. She told Dean that she could remember what it's like to be human, and I think she meant it. How else would she have been able to connect to Sam so convincingly? Her relationship with Sam, by the way, is a whole other aspect of her character that fascinates me, because while she seemed to have all the power in that she had him wrapped around her finger...I'm not sure she was as unaffected by him as she'd like to admit. I mean, she clearly had this obsession with him - I think it was probably the closest thing to love that a demon could ever feel. As for why I picked Genevieve Cortese as opposed to Katie Cassidy as her faceclaim...BECAUSE I LIKE GEN BETTER. DEAL WITH IT. /unpopular opinion. Seriously, in my opinion, Katie was great at that snarky side of Ruby but...not too great at much else. Gen gave the character more dimensions, and her last scene where Ruby dies is one of my favorite Supernatural moments. But that's a whole 'nother rant.... The Blind WitchI'll make up for my long Ruby rant by giving you a short explanation here: The Blind Witch is fun to play. 'Nuff said. She's horrifically morbid and batshit insane, but I loved the episode she was in and I loved Emma Caulfield's performance. I don't really get to do the whole 'dark humor' thing that often; she gives me a chance to. Regina MillsOh God this is probably going to turn into another novel. Where do I even begin with Regina? One thing I love about OUAT (which, as Bawb said, is seriously the greatest thing ever) is it's clever writing. I'm not talking about "HURR HURR THAT WAS A GOOD JOKE!", I'm talking about how they take your expectations and COMPLETELY flip them upside down while still retaining that core "fairytale character image". Regina is one such example of this. Of my top four characters, she's numbah one (Snow being number two...LOLHOWDOESTHATEVENWORK?). Snow White has always been one of my favorite fairytales, but I love how this Evil Queen is so much more than evil. She's human. Deranged (click here for more of my lame thoughts on that), but human. She's so deliciously evil and yet, I believe she does have the capacity to change - it's going to take a lot of work on her part, but she's always been strong - and that's why I love her so much. Because yeah, she's been hurt, but she's emotionally strong enough to do whatever the f-ck she wants - and one of these days she's gonna realize that and stick it to that mother of hers. Red Riding Hoodas if I didn't have enough OUAT chars Well I was starting to overload myself with villainous types, and I really loved the Red-centric episode of OUAT, so I thought - why not app her? I really like this take on Red Riding Hood: she's the sweet, happy girl she should be, and yet she's not without her dark secrets. And I think it'll be a lot of fun to play that out. Whenever I need to grab a character who'll actually be nice to someone for a change, I'll always have Red here - and so far, it's been a blast. Meredith VickersWell, I was insanely HYPED for Prometheus, and I knew I wanted to app someone from it. In the end, it came down to Vickers, Shaw, or David. I ultimately ruled out David because he's something of a villain-type, and again, I didn't really need more of those. I came very close to apping Shaw, but Vickers became my favorite character for one simple reason: SHE'S THE SMARTEST EFFING PERSON IN THE MOVIE. Seriously, while everyone else is poking around and ultimately causing the shit to hit the fan, she's like "guys. guys seriously stop. we don't know what we're dealing with here. show some common sense." Of course...nobody actually LISTENS to her, but...she reminds me of Ripley in that way. Another interesting dynamic of her character is her rocky relationship with her father and her attitude towards David. Her father never gave her the time of day and David trolls her non-stop, and I love portraying how cold neglect - not abuse, just emotional neglect - can make a person. Plus, her fiercely negative and distrustful attitude towards non-humans has been insanely fun to play out. Gwen StacyHere's the thing. Spider-Man is without a doubt my all-time favorite superhero. Here's how much I love him: if you know me, you know I'm really not much of a comics/cartoons person, but even prior to the new movie I'd watched the Spider-Man cartoon and read some of the comics...plus played several of the video games. One of the few comics I'd read beforehand was the one where Gwen Stacy actually dies, and I've always found how that really changed the tone of comic books thereafter to be VERY interesting. So of course, when I saw her in the new movie (which was AMAZING, by the way), I was like "...oh god...I know what's going to happen to her at some point in this trilogy." Never the less, I loved the way the movie portrayed her. To be honest, Mary Jane always kinda annoyed me and I downright HATE Raimi-verse MJ, so I've always preferred Gwen to her. But now that I've seen the new movie and started to read all the comics in sequence, and of course DNA's apping Spidey here - all in all, how could I resist?

The Broodmother: Wild muse!
Some of you may know how bad I am about making characters on a whim. It just... well, happens. This character, and the premise of the Brood, allows me to make a lot of characters, introduce npcs, and be the diabolical mastermind Ive always wanted to be, so she's stuck in my head. She needs to be worked up a bit - work in some flaws, show ups and downs, and generally I need to work harder to make her less of a mary sue... but she's an oc - sue me. There is some interesting science fiction in this character concept...
Deadlock I like. She's angry, troubled, and let's face it, a lady dog when all is said and done. She's fun though, and a badass, and that's important to me - rarely do I get a completely peaceful muse. I like to roleplay combat, and I have trouble thinking of many as aggro, steely, and vicious as her.

The Once-ler
My Once-ler muse blossomed after seeing The Lorax in theaters, and after browsing the Once-ler tag on Tumblr for a couple of months after. I began to love the character so much as to start creating a Cosplay based off of a female version of him. When I started getting things for the costume, my muse grew even more. I loved seeing the different ask blogs for him on Tumblr, the different personas and alternate universes for him. Which brought on my idea of a "headcannon" of Once-ler going a bit insane a few years after the Lorax disappeared. And of course, as you all can see now, brought on my idea of Greed and Innocent inside Once-ler's head.
Role playing as Oncie is making my muse for him grow and grow more. I was worried I wouldn't make a good Once-ler at all--this being my first time role playing as him.
However, the more I post for him, the more I grow to love role playing as him on here.
Sora Again, my first time playing this character as well! I've loved Sora since my childhood. Kingdom Hearts was one of the first Playstation 2 games I've ever played--besides Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and Treasure Planet of course. Sora was my idol as a child, my hero. After re-buying Kingdom Hearts and beginning to replay it, my love for the game and Sora has been rekindled. Thus driving me to app him as my second character to debut here.
I won't lie, my muse for him is slacking, but it's because I'm playing my new game on the hardest level when I haven't played in years...and I'm currently stuck on the Ursula boss battle so I haven't been able to milk muse from playing the game.
Bruce Banner
I was never into comic books when I was a child. I read more manga than actually comics, though I did watch the animated Batman series from time to time. It wasn't until the release date for the Avengers was announced that I started getting into them because of my college roommate. She is a huge comic book fan, and Loki fan, she knows pretty much everything I needed to know to get caught up on every character in the Avengers. She sat me down and made me watch Thor, Captain America, and Iron man. (I watched the Incredible Hulk AFTER seeing the Avengers.) Though, I did start buying comic books, I own Hulk Grey and a book of assorted Captain America comics. (Comic books confuse me in series, I don't know which ones to buy and which ones not to buy because of the issues numbers.) So I went with her to see the midnight premier for the 3D movie and I fell in love with it. Bruce became my favorite character because I felt I could relate to him. (Not to mention, hello Mark Ruffalo is a freakin' cutie pie.) So I started getting more into comics. My muse for Bruce came when I noticed that Bob had apped Tony Stark. I felt we should have all of the Avengers on the board because I thought it would be fun. Since I was actually going to be cosplaying Bruce soon (I'm still working on his costume) I felt by role playing him I'd get a better feel for the character. So I did, I apped him, and I love every minute I'm able to thread with another Avenger or his Science Bro.
Jim Moriarty After rewatching both Seasons of Sherlock I grew a love for Moriarty's character. He's so much different from the Professor Moriarty you read about in the Sherlock Holmes novels as well as the Robert Downey Jr. movies. He's funny and let's just admit it now, he's like that sassy flamboyant friend that wants to kill you, but at the same time wants you to solve his puzzles. I couldn't resist apping him after my Moriarty muse was so high after watching the episodes. I just wish I had more threads to throw him into...
Sam Winchester Sam is a character that teeter totters on my emotions. During the first few Seasons when I started watching Supernatural, I loved Sam. He was absolutely adorable to me, but after Season Five, I find him to be an ass. (Well I'm only like a few episodes into Season Six, but still I kind of wanted to punch him in the face after the vampire episode.) I'm still trying to get a good handle on grasping his character. I need to rewatch the first five seasons a couple times over. (Though currently I role play him as his first-second season personality before he started drinking Demon's blood.) Otherwise, besides the Asshole Sam in Season Six, I love him and enjoy that I was able to app him...now if only I didn't stink when I role play him...
Jefferson Honestly, the first reason I apped Jefferson was because at the time everyone wanted to have a Jefferson on the board. So I stepped up to the plate and apped him to please everyone's wishes. (I live to please, that's the Quill's way.) However, after rewatching Hat Trick and now seeing Jefferson in more episodes in Season 2 (one including his past self in "The Doctor" episode) he has already become my favorite character in Once Upon a Time. I've cried over his feelings with Grace, laughed over his faces, and I've just become overall attached to his character. Threading as him is a pure joy, and he & I have a common love for tea so that's a plus! I can go tea crazy and get away with it! I really hope to see more of him in Season 2 so I can work on a re-app for him, to include more of his history. I'm crossing my fingers on a backstory of how Grace came to be, and if Grace IS Alice like I'm hoping she is.
Captain Hook Once they announced that Captain Hook would be on Once Upon a Time I had to reserve him. I didn't care if he was old, young, middle-aged, an asshole, a wimp, the Hook version of James Hook. I needed him on my character team. I hold a weird bond to the Disney Captain Hook character that goes far back into my childhood. -Personal Time with Quill- The main reason I apped Captain Hook was, honestly, for my Grandfather. When I was young, my Grandparents would babysit me while my parents worked. My mom would drop me off in the morning and I'd be with them all day. We'd watch TV, make rice crispy treats from scratch, make popcorn out of an old fashioned hot-aired popcorn popper...but most of all...I used to play act with my Grandfather. And he was my Captain Hook. [Excuse any typos that occur in this next paragraph, I've actually just started crying by now.] He had a plastic pirate sword and a hat that he'd wear. He had a small figurine of the Disney Captain Hook that I bought in Disney World when I was five. He would play along with anything I pretended to be, and most of the time that was a dinosaur. I still own the plastic toy, it sits on my self as a memory. My Grandfather will have been gone a year on December 12th. So in a sense when I apped Hook I was thinking of these memories. So forgive me if my acting with Hook is terrible at times, I'm still grasping him since I only have two episodes to run on for his personality and speech. I honestly have to rewatch The Crocodile to get a better sense of his character. [I'm just going to stop there because at this point of me actually writing all this I've been turned into a sobbing pile of Quill.]
Lynn Lynn was an OC that I had created for a Resident Evil private role play. (With Fable actually--Kalypso's role player.) Her name was originally "Whisper" since she was a mute and I couldn't come up with a better actual name at the time. However, after writing a short story piece for a creative writing class I came up with the name "Lynn Mylandane" and decided to give that name to Whisper. I apped Whisper here because two other role players wanted me to put her on the board, one being Naga. Though the other reason I apped her was for purely character development. I wanted to see if I could take her further past just being put in a Resident Evil environment. (Though I would love to thread her with Resident Evil characters, in fact I have a thread with Wesker at the moment. Interested in how that will play out.) She's your average escaped Umbrella experiment, what more do you want from me sillies?
Mituna Captor Coming Soon.[/blockquote]

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT MY OSWIN FEELS
Oswin was...really supposed to be a 'yolo' character I threw in once and maybe got to know a little better once I knew more about the Doctor Who universe. I knew that Bawb had Ten on here, and that there weren't really any other Doctor Who characters, so since Oswin really only appeared in one episode, I decided to give her a try. I did not expect her to catch on like she did. At the time, I hadn't had any new characters for awhile, and trying to get into the head of a new one was a challenge I was ready to undertake once more.
It's weird, really, because Oswin is a huge departure from the other characters I play, including Alice, who at the time was my next character lined up to be apped. She's outgoing, she can be loud, and she's ready to shove herself into whatever's going on, whereas my characters before had been content in remaining quietly in the background. I'm also not an outgoing person in real life at all, and haven't had much exposure to outgoing people, so writing one was a challenge.
And, despite her generally upbeat and cheerful nature, Oswin struggles with a lot on AM and she's afraid of a lot more than she likes to let on. Standing up to aliens and saving the world is just fine, but when confronted with her own mortality, she withdraws. Oswin knows she's supposed to be dead, and still isn't sure of whether her second chance at life is going to be cut short or not. To her, dying might be the universe 'setting things right' and that scares her. She's also got quite the amount of mental trauma from her past experiences, and they affect her more than she lets on. Oswin is just the tiniest bit touched in the head, and playing that out in a subtle way is interesting for me.
I also really wanted to see how she and Ten would play off each other, since I knew we didn't have an Eleven. As I think DNA said to me before, I really like just the friendship between the two of them, that rather than fall in love with him, Oswin sort of hero-worships Ten. There doesn't always need to be a romantic dynamic between the Doctor and his companion, and at times, I think just an extremely strong friendship is more powerful than a romantic one.
Well. I could go on, but this is already a novel SO. Yeah.

Let me see if I can do this here...
Terry Mcginnis / Batman Beyond: I fell in love with the character of Terry McGinnis after watching the first few episodes of Batman Beyond. Terry is one of those characters that is still in high school, and all of the sudden finds out who Batman is and becomes the new bat. He has all the teenage drama that teenagers have; trying to get through school, work to get money, staying out of trouble and keeping a relationship. Now, he has more on his plate, being the new Batman, and learning all there is about being a hero. The character is a complex character and I use to play him on a place called Multiverse Crisis MUSH.
Adam Pierson / Methos: This is another character that I played at Multiverse Crisis MUSH, Methos. The oldest living person in the world from the Highlander TV series. I fll in love with Highlander when the first movie came out centering around Connor MacLoed and The Kurgan (Who I also play on here). It was interesting in that someone took the concept of Immortality and turned it into how people who do live forever, unless you take their head have to adapt to the changing times. Methos is probably the most complex character I have right now; due to being over 5000 years old. He has a lot of knowledge and been through many eras of history. He has meet some of the most famous people in history and a novel was based on Immortals after the author saw one of them receiving the Quickening; The book known as The Modern Promethus in the Highlander series. He is fun, cause he knows pretty much everything about history, as he has lived through it and he yet has to keep himself hidden, cause being the oldest, he is also one of the most powerful and if he is killed, whoever gets his quickening, will be difficult to beat.
The Kurgan: See Methos above on why, but The Kurgan is the bad guy that parents tell their kids stories about the bumps in the night. He gets pleasure from both the flesh and the fighting he does, and enjoys causing fear and panic. He will kill someone in public, especially if it is an Immortal and will do all he can to put fear into people, knowing that regular Humans do not know how to kill him. He does have a heated hatred of Conner MacLeod and will do anything to gain the prize so he can rule the world. Additionally, he is at least 3000 years old but under the 5000 year mark.
I have yet to do any RP with this character and would be willing to have some if anyone is interested.
Steve Rogers / Captain America: I was a fan of Marvel comics growing up, but was not a fan of Captain America until the the movie came out. Captain America is the Marvel version of Superman, being a boy scout and one who does what he can to help people. He is also an iconic character, being at least 90 years old, but looking not over 25 top 27 years old. He is all the good things in a person, not a fan of hurting people and is almost the polar opposite of a lot of characters. As I am playing he Movie version, a lot of the comic info and history is not used, and there is still much not released about him, until the next movie that is due out in two or three years. But like Batman, he is interesting, as he is a person out of time, and trying to adjust to the 21st Century after growing up in the early 20th Century, during the second World War.
Harvey Dent / Two Face: Like Methos and Terry McGinnis, I use to play Harvey Dent at a MUX that closed down back int he late 1990s called Heroes and Villains. Hew is a character that is difficult and interesting, as he has MPS, just like what Banner has, at least comic version, but unlike Banner, who's personality forms the Hulk, Harvey's is out in the open all the time and they are aware of each other and have debates on what to do. His entire life is not governed by the flip of a coin. Heads you live, tails you die. Dent is a character that gives me a chance to really play both sides of the coins; he is smart and follows the law, being a DA; but he is also a criminal and does everything to break the law that he use to protect.
I have yet to do any RP with this character and would be willing to have some if anyone is interested.
Sweet: Sweet is a fun character just to have around to really bring out what is hidden inside of people. A deamon from the Buffy series who appeared in only a single episode, Once More, With Feeling. He is unique, in that unlike the other deamons form the Buffy series, he does not go out to kill the Slayer. He is the director, producer, the entertainment, causing people to break into song and dance. More over, he is summoned by a Talisman and when the talisman is found, whoever has it gets to become his wife. However, he does break the rules from time to time, if something would seem odd. But he is mainly here for the fun and this is why I like him, since he just does things for the hell of it.
Abomination: The Abomination is the one character in the Marvel Universe that can go toe-to-toe with the Hulk and win. What he wants is power, the power the Hulk has, which he got and now he wants to use it to cause chaos and to just do the most damage to things. He has a hatred for anything related to the Hulk, and will do whatever it takes to beat him. This version is the movie version and we got to see how he came to be. Like the Hulk, the Abomination has all the same or similar abilities, but he was also given a shot of the Super Soldier Serum like what Steve and the Red Skull was given. I personally feel, that the Abomination got a serum similar to the Red Skull, as his mind started to go for power rather than the other way. But this is the main reason, cause now he is stuck in the body of a 11 foot talk brute and he wants to hurt he hulk and anyone associated with him at any cost.
I have yet to do any RP with this character and would be willing to have some if anyone is interested.
Michelangelo: Michelangelo is another fun character that I enjoy. I read some of the early TMNT comics, back when they were black and white and enjoyed the Turtle as being people who got turned from regular turtles to humanoid versions by goo. Mikey is the fun loving turtle and the cook of the four. He is good at cooking, fighting and he eats the weirdest combination of pizzas you could think of. everything from PB&J to something off the wall that would make most people sick. He enjoys skateboarding and does it when he can. Only problem is, he has to hide his appearance, as he and his brothers have to go into NYC, they have to hide their appearance, as they could be attacked by people for being monsters. And there have been times, when they have been close to being made into Turtle Soup.

time 2 continue this :] meks pls
Em BrenekI don't even know, man. I really just decided "okay I like her I'm apping her :]" one day. No, but I think a lot of the reasons I decided to take Em come from the movie she's from itself - The Possession. There were some people who weren't really impressed with it because they were all "wow a kid who gets possessed that's so not original B(" but I don't think the point of this movie was to really be original in its scare tactics. This was a different kind of possession movie, one that seemed to take a more emotional angle than a "OMG LOOK HOW SHOCKING AND DISTURBING THIS IS" angle. It really focused how the family was being affected by the demonic possession and, even more, how Em herself was - her performance was absolutely fantastic. But yeah, so there was that and the fact that a lot of times people play demons who are possessing someone - I thought it would be fun to play things from the point of view of the character who's being possessed. As far as little kid characters go, Em's really pretty awesome and I don't find her annoying and I hope I play her to reflect that?? Phoebe HalliwellNOSTALGIA TIIIIIIME. Okay so, Charmed is a show I have loved forever. It is a show I grew up on. To this day, its characters have a special place in my heart - even now I think it's rare to find a sibling bond on television that's portrayed quite so well and poignantly as the bond between the three (well, four) sisters was okay, the Winchesters come close, but. Last summer, out of nowhere, I was suddenly hit with a wave of nostalgia and did a full rewatch of the show - by the end of it, I was pretty much like "okay these characters are my babies i need to bring one of them to AM". I love all of the Halliwell sisters, but I think Phoebe is probably my favorite. She's just sort of the one who holds the family together. She grew up with two older sisters, and she was always used to being the baby of the family, and then suddenly Prue is dead and they're finding out about their long lost half sister and she's just abruptly thrust into the role of middle sister - of mediator, of peacemaker - and the realistic nature of her struggle with that just made me love her. And she's honestly been through so much shit since then, but she doesn't stop fighting, doesn't stop saving the world on a regular basis, and I find her strength quite admirable. Morgana PendragonI saved Morgana for last because I knew I was going to write an essay hA. I seem to have a thing for playing these really iconic characters?? Actually, Morgana - or Morgan le Fay, as she's better known - is probably the most iconic sorceress/witch in all of literature, and she's pretty much a huge source of inspiration for most of the supernatural/witchy shit that's made up our stories since, so. But yeah I have so many feels about this character. The legends about her vary in exactly how evil she was, but even in the ones where she was kind of extremely bitchy one of the things she was most famous for was taking Arthur to Avalon to save his life which is why I'm pissed she didn't get her redemption in the show because that's what she's fucking famous for. But um yeah back to this interpretation of the character that I'm playing. It actually just hurts to watch how much she changes through the series - and while her evilness just gets ridiculous eventually, I do see where she's coming from. Discovering she had magic was the most terrifying experience of her life because she knew she'd be killed for it, and she literally had no one to support her. She was entirely alone. Merlin and Gaius knew she had magic, but they pretty much just turned a blind eye when she needed someone - Merlin couldn't even trust her enough to tell her his secret because of the Great Dragon constantly talking about how evil she was going to become...which is really just completely a self-fulfilling prophecy, all things considered. And then, once Merlin betrays her, who does she have left? She has Arthur, but he's shown absolutely no indication that his views on magic are any different than his father's, and she has Gwen - but after Morgana discovers she's Uther's daughter and has a right to the throne, Gwen becomes a threat because in marrying Arthur she effectively, from Morgana's point of view, "steals" her position as queen. It's like Gwen's choosing Arthur over her, and it's just another betrayal on top of all the others. People who call her character emotionless and hateful don't really get it - her problem isn't that she's without love, it's that she loves too much. The thing about her is that once she decides she cares about and loves someone, she just loves them so fiercely that it's almost unhealthy and when they don't, like, side with her unconditionally she takes it as betrayal and she does not handle the pain of rejection or loss well. And despite the horrific things she ends up doing, Morgana does them all because - in her younger self's own (majorly foreshadowing, might I add) words - "Sometimes you've got to do what you think is right, and damn the consequences." It's not until the fifth season that she really just completely goes nuts, and given that she's quite literally tortured into insanity I think that's just more sad than anything. Even before they had the torture thing to use as an excuse, though, I feel like they changed her character far too drastically - which was why I took her from the point that I did; I wanted to make her development a little believable in regards to the character that she originally was, and that the legends make her out to be. I love her to death, which is why I took her in the first place. But as far as taking her from that specific point goes, yeah. Wow sorry this really turned into a ridiculous little character analysis. I really just could have posted this here and it would have explained all my feelings, oops.

Alright so I MIGHT AS WELL Garchomp Because why the fuck not and I wanted to play a Pokemon and it might as well be an OC? She's also a way for me to play a not that talkative character and try out a differing view of life and stuff and it's fun! Mithos Yggdrasill HAHAHA I had so many feels for mentos even when I just played the game and watched the OVA. He is my favourite Tales villain because he's such a flawed, believable mirror of the protagonists, and you can see how and why he fell, and though he's not the toughest final boss - looking at you, Radiant Winged One from Vesperia with your TWENTY MINUTE LONG BOSSFIGHT - it manages to be thematic and pulls on your heartstrings andYEAH. He was going to be my first villain but I flubbed it amazingly as he became too sympathetic in the ICC and now he's just some weird bigoted antihero. But yes, I chose him because I loved his storyline and his character and everything basically and now I have the chance to give myself and everyone else more feels so muahaha. Kyubey Kyubey was a spur of the moment thing. I just got gripped by an incredibly strong urge to throw him into the ICC and see how they would react to this cute fluffy thing who grants wishes and is secretly an alien hivemind preventing the universe from succumbing to entropy. And it turns out that this reaction was just waaaay too much fun to see so I kept him there and then whoops applying for something that can't be killed. It's a ton of fun to see how different characters react to him and I don't regret apping him at all - especially because of TEAM SNAKE - and it's fun to play something so... rational and emotionless and far beyond the scope of any of my other characters. Her Imperious Condescension Another spur of the moment thing, because we had more Homestuck people and I just wanted to try her. The Condesce is someone a Homestuck reader really doesn't know much about except that she's old and powerful and super dangerous and likes glitter and galactic conquest. Given how much I like Homestuck, it was a pity I hadn't tried to roleplay anything from it yet - and so I chose the Condesce and then proceeded to make terrible fish puns everywhere. I really like Alternia and the fact that, despite her powers and cruelty, she isn't just a cardcarrying villain and I wanted to explore that so yeah that is why I Condesce. Also, I get to call people minnows all the time and make crappy "he is already here" jokes. How could I resist?

LET'S ADD ONTO THIS THING.
CLARA OSWIN OSWALD
So, Clara was...actually not supposed to be a thing. The original plan that was kinda-sorta foreshadowed by Oswin finding Clara's portrait onboard the TARDIS was Oswin beginning to gain Clara's memories and get ~flashbacks~ to being her and so on and so forth. But, upon actually seeing the Christmas special, I realized that that wasn't going to be enough, because while Oswin and Clara looked alike and to an extent, acted alike, they could potentially two two separate, but linked characters. And I was like HEY maybe I can totally pull that kinda thing off and have both of them here at the same time. And what started as the HILARITY of LULS PEOPLE KEEP THINKING CLARA IS OSWIN kinda turned into a source of angst. Whoops. But yeah. I really just wanted to see if I could pull off the "two different people" aspect. And she was going to be a yolo thing too, but oops, I got attached. What a surprise.
also, fun fact: clara isn't an npc because i wanted to make a sig for her.

Post by Sherlock Holmes on Feb 13, 2013 12:15:24 GMT -5
MY ROSTER HAS... CHANGED O:
2shocking
I need to re-do this sooo....
Also I'm re-doing my reasons for the ones I've already explained because ranting about my characters is the best :]
Sherlock Holmes
Sherlock is just such an interesting character. Of course, everyone knows {or thinks they knows} the character of Sherlock Holmes. In reality, they really... don't. The stereotype of 'SUPER DETECTIVE AWESOME' really isn't the book version of Sherlock Holmes at all. He was, obviously, an amazing detective and he did have a lot of the qualities of what people think Sherlock is. However, he was much more interesting and complex that most people ever thought he was. The thing I love about BBC's Sherlock is that they basically take the actual character from the books and transport him to modern times. They take a realistic approach to the character, showing him as a brilliant, flawed and just a bit unstable consulting detective.
One of the best things about Sherlock is that he isn't at all a hero. He's solving crimes because he loves the thrill of it, not because he has some deep desire to uphold the law. He has genuine, realistic flaws that make him incredibly complex and fun to RP. Also Quill's Moriarty is perf and it's been so fun RPing those two out.
DENA THE GOD WARRIOR Dean Winchester
By the end of the first episode of Supernatural, Dean was already my favorite character. I pretty much knew I was going to app him from day one. As I continued on through Supernatural, I only grew to love Dean more and more. When he wasn't being hilarious and great he was having seriously well-done, emotional scenes. Jensen Ackles does an amazing job playing Dean and switching between being laid-back and funny to being serious and sad. It would be so easy for an actor to just have Dean be a laid-back guy who gets upset but Jensen Ackles really gives the character so much personality. Dean also happens to be a monster hunter, which is something I find really interesting about Supernatural. The show is about monster hunters but it doesn’t really focus on killing monsters as much as it does the personalities of the characters.
Supernatural really shows that living as a monster hunter is not a good life. It takes a strangely realistic approach on a definitely unrealistic topic. The effects of living the life of a hunter are shown on both Dean and Sam as they struggle to not only hunt monsters but try to keep themselves together.
MT GLOD Mr. Gold Another character that I knew I’d be apping {or at least ICCing as} from the start. When I got into OUAT, it was actually because I’d heard there was an episode involving Wonderland. I watched the Hat Trick episode and I really sort of fell in love with the show. I went back and watched all the way up to Hat Trick in like a week and proceeded to watch the episodes from Hat Trick on. Now, I’m a part of the random OUAT feelstorms. But that’s not really why I took Gold, is it? Mr. Gold and Rumpelstiltskin are always great when they’re onscreen. Robert Carlyle just brings a certain charm to the performance that you wouldn’t see if it were any other actor playing the role. Rumpelstiltskin’s introduction into the show, for instance, was actually kind of terrifying. From there on, he only gets better.
Whenever Rumpelstiltskin shows up, you pretty much know something’s going to happen. As Mr. Gold, Robert Carlyle gets a chance to make his performance more subtle. The character is serious and professional, yes, but you can also see bits of Rumpelstiltskin bleeding through into Mr. Gold, especially in season one. This was negated a bit in season two since… everyone knows he’s Rumpelstiltskin so there’s no reason to hide it. And don’t even get me started on how many feels this character gives. When you find out just why he’s doing what he’s doing it’s just… whY OUAT WHY WHY WHY.
Loki Laufeyson
When I started out playing Loki, I was actually playing Loki from the ‘Thor’ movie. The Avengers hadn’t come out yet and I was all hyped up for it. I re-watched the movies and, lo and behold, I ended up really liking Loki – especially since I knew he was going to be the main villain in The Avengers. When I finally saw The Avengers {about a week later than I was supposed to gugugguhgughg}, it only made me like Loki more. He’d become a more strong villain and Tom Hiddleston put his all into making the character into a great villain. Of course, he succeeded. Loki was just the perfect villain for the movie. His plan wasn’t overly complex, or even complex at all. He wanted to invade Earth with an alien army and take everything over. That sort of thing was perfect for the Avengers. A movie about a group of superheroes would’ve been ruined by an overly complex plot, in my opinion. The focus would have been taken off of the heroes and put onto the plot.
Loki, in The Avengers, was mocking, intelligent and complex. Tom Hiddleston was clearly not playing a “CURSE U THOR –shakes fist-“ kind of villain. Tom Hiddleston actually took the time to read through not only a bunch of comics with Loki in them, but he actually looked through Norse Myths with Loki so that he could make the character what he is now. And he ended up making a great character who worked as not only a villain but a great character all around. I brought Loki to AM because he would be a fun villain to play. Conquering the world with alien armies is gr8, especially for a site like AM where it would force the heroes to actually take action against a large threat – something that hasn’t been happening as often as you think it would.
Lucifer
It’s easy to think that someone would take this character for his powers. He’s incredibly strong with pretty much every ability you can think of… but that’s not at all why I apped him. In fact, I didn’t even really care about his powers except being worried about not making him seem too over-powered and shoving him into Sue territory. Lucifer just… he really worked, as a villain, which is surprising, considering who he is. Usually, the Devil is portrayed as a pitchfork-stabbing, maniacal laughing villain. Lucifer in Supernatural wasn’t that at all. Lucifer was complex and interesting, especially when he talked to Sam or the other angels. He had a legitimate personality, and one that really interested me. He wasn’t the Devil that hated God and the angels – in fact, he wanted to destroy the humans so that the angels would realize how superior they are to humans.
Because the writers actually stuck to the source material instead of making a stereotypical Devil character, like they do with most of their characters from myths, I was interested in the character. Seeing a character that’s so commonly portrayed as randomly evil portrayed as a realistic person just interested me. Plus, he did a great job as the villain of Season 5 – especially when you realize that he is the main reason why everything in Supernatural happened.
AND MANY MORE COMING SOON...

okay TIME TO DO MY CASTER CHARACTERS :]
first of all, I got into this series a couple of years ago, but while waiting for the last book to come out I just kind of...got distracted by other stuff I needed to read and life in general, and it wasn't until I heard they were turning it into a movie that I went back, re-read the books, and then actually read the last one.
These books are so...atmospheric. Like, it's rare to find a series that just draws you into it's setting so completely, but the kind of Southern Gothic-ness is just so vibrant and memorable. The mythology behind the Casters, the world set up around them, is also wonderful and really really interesting, and the characters are fantastic. Whiiich leads me to...
RIDLEY DUCHANNES ridlee pls. So in this series, Ridley is just a character that...draws your attention right to her. She just kinda has this loud, overwhelming energy, and she's kind of a ridiculous troublemaker at times, but she's also very funny. She's the kind of character you want to know more about right from the start. But what I really liked about her was that while she was always very emotionally withdrawn, the authors always made it so clear what was going on inside that head of hers without blatantly spelling it out. She's vivacious, seductive, mischievous, snarky - but at her core, she's dealing with this sense of rejection and self-doubt that makes her very angry, and very insecure. I mean, her sixteenth birthday comes, and she pretty much loses everything overnight - literally. The way her family initially treated her after she turned was, in some ways, understandable - most Dark Casters aren't exactly misunderstood, they are legitimately evil - but I still found the whole thing very sad. Ridley's the type to act like these things don't hurt her when they so very clearly do. And, considering what...every other Dark Caster in the series is like, considering what going Dark does to you, I think it says a lot about her that she was ultimately able to turn around and do the right thing. She is, overall, a wonderful character - one of my favorites in the series.
SARAFINE DUCHANNES Sarafine is just...such a crazy bitch, but she's a badass crazy bitch. I kind of wanted a villain who was legitimately evil. Regina barely even counts at this point, Ridley...is Dark in nature, but she actively fights against it, Morgana is taken from a canon point when she isn't even a villain yet, and Ruby...is kind of a bitch, but a very subdued, subtle one. Sarafine is big bad material and just relentless and manipulative and also very, very fun because of how energetic and over-the-top she can be. She's just...in a completely different mindset; she functions in a completely different way than all of my other characters, even Ridley, because she has given in and entirely gone Dark, and what that does to a person - well, it clearly isn't pretty. But I also like her because I find her very very sad. I mean, out of everyone who's suffered because of this fucking curse, she's probably suffered the most - and nobody gets to see that. Nobody gets to see the person she used to be, nobody remembers how hard she fought to be good, or how much she loved the people in her life. Nobody remembers Izabel Duchannes, and everything she fought for amounted to nothing. And the scary thing is, that could have easily been Lena, or even Ridley, if things had been different.
