A time warp, Weeping Angels and a graveyard. What could possibly be better? The Doctor really hadn't expected to come across the Angels when the TARDIS detected another time warp on Earth. He was actually somewhat surprised at how many time warps had been happening there - very surprised, actually. It just wasn't usual for there to be a time warp every other day, even in the bizarre life of a 900 year old time traveler. In fact, the Doctor was just checking up on the time warp (as he usually did whenever a time warp happened) when he stepped out of the TARDIS and was face to face with an angel statue. Well, more like face to hand-covered face, but still. The Doctor didn't like this at all and he was almost sure that there were more nearby. So, what was the first reaction of the daring time lord?
To walk back into the TARDIS, of course. He needed time to plan. As he had encountered the angels in the past, he wasn't worried. Sure, he was in a stick situation, but he'd managed to get out of worse before. As he was planning, it struck him. There was still somebody out there. A time warp on Earth usually meant the arrival of somebody from an entirely different time, dimension or area of space. So, that would have to mean that there was somebody out there, somebody who was probably very confused and almost definitely had no idea how to deal with Weeping Angels. Unless they were someone he knew. He could only hope he'd see someone familiar on Earth. He hadn't been able to find anyone he knew, oddly enough. Maybe they were time warped away or something... It certainly wouldn't be the first time something like that happened.
So, he had to alert whoever was out there of the Angel(s?). The Doctor opened the TARDIS door only to find it surrounded by Weeping Angels. "...Well, that's bad news." The Doctor said, glancing around at all the angels. What he didn't see is anyone else. Maybe they'd gotten away? The Doctor glanced around the area, making sure to keep his eyes on the angels at all times. He didn't want to get attacked by one again.

For once, a time warp had bought someone who was less than conscious. At the moment, Oswin was lying on the ground by one of the larger mausoleums, which just so happened to be decorated by statues of crying angels. And, they were totally just statues. Nothing else at all. Nope.
But, only the more important subject. Oswin didn't stay asleep. In fact, with a soft groan, she stirred, turning over onto her back. Wait. Back. Daleks didn't have a back, did they? If they were lying down flat on the ground...
Oswin raised her hand (hands! proper hands attached to arms!) to her face, slowly feeling out her cheeks, her nose, her lips. Her eyes fluttered open and she sat up. It was dark wherever she was, but grass, trees and...gravestones...weird...were all visible in the moonlight. There was moonlight! Another dream? No...she'd never seen this place before in her life, she couldn't have dreamed it up.
Leaning back on her hands and tilting her head up, Oswin looked toward towards the sky, managing a grin through her confusion. No, this wasn't a dream. There had never been any stars in her dreams, and there they were, glittering who-knew-how many miles away.
"Brilliant..." she couldn't help but whisper, before getting to her feet somewhat awkwardly. She'd walked enough in her dreams, but walking in reality was rather different, especially when one had just been a Dalek for the past year.
All right, now what? Probably best to find out where she was. Some sort of graveyard, obviously, but where? Oswin looked around, but saw nothing but gravestones and a mausoleum. The latter made her pause briefly, and wonder why anyone would want to have angel statues on their grave that appeared to be reaching out for people. The effect was rather unnerving.
No matter. It was probably more important to get out of this graveyard and find out exactly where she was. Pushing aside a few tree branches, she headed off in no particular direction, dead leaves crunching under feet. It was autumn, then.
Hearing something humming nearby, Oswin peered through the trees. Her view was extremely bad, she could hardly see anything, but that shade of blue certainly didn't belong in nature.
"Hello? Is someone there?"

Just about the exact moment the Doctor was about to shut the TARDIS' door and go somewhere else, preferably somewhere that didn't have any Weeping Angels he heard a voice coming from behind the TARDIS. That wasn't good, not at all. If she blinked while she had her eyes on the angels... Well, it might not be so bad - the Angels had positioned themselves in such a way that they could look at each other if they all moved at once.
The Doctor re-entered the TARDIS and, after a bit of fiddiling around with the console, he disappeared and reappeared a few feet away from the angels. This was announced, of course, by the loud whirring noise his TARDIS made when it materialized or dematerialized. The Doctor opened the door of the TARDIS to see that the angels, which there were six of, had moved position and had their eyes covered once again. The Doctor, keeping his gaze on the angels, shouted out. "Yeah, there's someone here!"
He kept backing up from the angels in an attempt to get closer to the other person. He didn't like endangering other people, but he not only wanted to look into the time warped person but he would need some help if he wanted to escape the angels. It was almost impossible getting rid of them without another person since everyone had to blink at some point. The Doctor was doing his best to keep his eyes open, of course.
"Would you mind coming here for a minute?" The Doctor asked, his voice giving off a sense of urgency while simultaneously sounding oddly casual. The Doctor was starting to need to blink, but he knew he couldn't. He'd gotten very lucky the last time he'd faced the angels, he had managed to trick them. That'd be a tad harder to do, especially if the other person left him there. If that were the case he'd likely get into the TARDIS and leave as quickly as possible.

A loud whirring suddenly filled the air, and Oswin had to pause in her peering to look up. It sounded like some sort of ship, but there didn't seem to be anything above her head but trees. Slowly, it faded away to silence again, but not before Oswin had begun to move again, navigating through the dark forest with only the moonlight to guide her.
Looking over her shoulder, she frowned slightly. Had those two angel statues been there before? She didn't remember passing them.
The voice called out quickly distracted her, and Oswin stepped a little closer, pushing back a few more branches. "Be there in a moment!" The urgency in his tone was a little worrying, but perhaps he knew what the source of that whirring noise had been. And why these angel statues seemed to be everywhere. Did the people nearby just happen to like angels on their gravestones?
Finally, Oswin stepped into a clearing and was greeted by the sight of a large blue box (police box, she supposed, that was what the sign said) in the middle of it. Well. That wasn't normal. Looking around briefly for the source of the noise, she found it in the man standing in the door of the box. "Hello?"
Looking over, she noticed he seemed to be staring intently at another cluster of angel statues nearby. Giving him a bit of a smile, Oswin approached. "Didn't know people around here fancied angels so much. Is that why there's so many of them?"
Best to act as normal as she could, which was increasingly difficult. Apart from seeing them on cameras, Oswin hadn't clapped eyes on another person for a very, very long time.

A moment was much more than what the Weeping Angels needed to catch you and send you back in time. The Doctor couldn't risk this girl getting caught by them - this time he would make himself ensure that everyone lived. "A moment's not good enough!" The Doctor shouted, trying to keep his gaze on each of the Weeping Angels. It was impossible, but he was determined to make sure that the Weeping Angels didn't get this girl.
The Doctor kept his Sonic Screwdriver at the ready. It probably wouldn't come in handy at all seeing as there were no doors to be unlocked or technology to mess with, but he liked having it handy. Plus, it just made him feel ready, even when he so obviously wasn't. The Doctor watched as the girl came into view. She was rather normal looking, unlike most of the people who arrived via a Time Warp. Oh well.
"They don't fancy angels, is the thing." The Doctor said as he grabbed Oswin by the shoulder and dragged her into the TARDIS. Quickly shutting the door, the Doctor paused. He seemed to be waiting for something. Moments after the TARDIS started rumbling and shaking. The Doctor frowned and made a small noise of displeasure. Weeping Angels were the worst.
"I'm the Doctor, by the way, and those out there are Weeping Angels." He explained, peeking outside for a moment. the rumbling stopped as soon as he did. Of course, it was a demonstration. "They have a defense mechanism where they can't move when you look at them. Which is why, whenever you're looking at one, I don't want you to blink. You can't blink, actually. Blink and you're dead." That summed it up quite nicely.

"Hey!" Oswin had been locked away for some time, but she was pretty sure that grabbing someone and dragging them into boxes wasn't socially acceptable. "What-?" The sight of the box's interior cut her off. It hardly looked like a box at all. Oswin couldn't help the wondrous look on her face as she gazed around at the interior of whatever this thing was.
A large console rose up in front of her, casting a blue glow a few feet in front of it. It looked, for all the world, like the interior of some sort of ship, but surely that box couldn't hold all of this, could it? "It's..." Oswin faltered for just a moment. "Well, it's smaller on the outside, isn't it?" She flashed him a grin.
Her wonder was cut short as the box...ship...whatever it was, suddenly gave a jolt, as if something outside was shaking it. Peeking out over the man's shoulder, Oswin spotted a circle of those angels that had formed outside. Oh! Weeping Angels, of course! Why the thought hadn't occurred to her before. Well, she did have quite a bit more on her mind than the possibility of evil, stone Angels bent on sending her back in time.
"Weeping Angels. Right." For once Oswin wished she did have access to the Dalek database, she'd only briefly perused the file when she'd come across it. "Got to make them all look at each other then, haven't we?" Getting her bearings, she walked to the console to see what was at her disposal. However, something stopped her in her tracks. "Sorry, did you just say you were the Doctor?"
Oswin studied him for a moment, then shook her head. "Couldn't be. You haven't got the chin for it." All right, back to business. "Impressive, you've got nearly everything there, haven't you?" Her fingers hovered briefly over the console and it's multiple shining buttons.
"What sort of craft is this, anyway?"

"...Well, that's not what they usually say." The Doctor said, raising an eyebrow for a moment before spinning on his heel to face the console. As the Time Lord began walking casually towards the console, the TARDIS shook violently. The Doctor put a hand onto a nearby wall for support. "Just a bit of turbulence, no need to be worried." He said jokingly. The Weeping Angels were serious, of course, but the Doctor... Well, he was never serious about anything, was he? Except when he was.
The Doctor, now that he had the angels in a circle around him, had them right where he wanted them. Pulling a lever, the Doctor listened to Oswin speak. Wait, she knew about the Weeping Angels? "Oh, you know what they are, then?" He said, his voice projecting his confusion. It wasn't easy to know about the Angels. They weren't exactly well-known, seeing as they took the shape of statues most of the time. It was a brilliant, clever defense... but not really used right.
The Doctor glanced at Oswin again once she asked her question. Did he know her from before or something? No, that wasn't right... He remembered every companion he ever had with him. But, if that were right how did she know about him? Maybe she was from the future then. After all, none of his old selves really had a pronounced chin...
"Well, that's because of the regeneration, probably. It's a tricky thing, really." The Doctor said, distractedly. He was too focused pushing various buttons and pulling various levers on the TARDIS' console to focus on the conversation at hand. "And, um, yes, we have to make them look at each other... and since they're really not that clever, I've already got them right where I need them. So, all I need to do is... this." The Doctor smacked his hand on a button, prompting that oh-so familiar whirring noise to start up.
The TARDIS disappeared from view, only to reappear moment later in a spot that was not at all far away from the angels, who were now stuck in a circle staring at each other. Back in the TARDIS' inside, the Doctor was opening the door out. "Yeah, too bad their greatest strength is also..." He paused, opening the door fully to reveal the stuck angels. "...their greatest weakness."

"I'm not usual, dear." Oswin gave the Doctor a bit of a smirk, leaning forward on the console to study it a little more. To anyone else, the flashing lights, buttons and switches would have been nearly indecipherable, but to Oswin, it was a language that she most definitely spoke. Maybe she hadn't had too much first-hand experience with crafts like this, or any kind of craft, but she knew the mechanics. More shaking snapped her out of her investigation and Oswin braced herself against the console for support.
She grinned a little. "Yeah, had a bit of access to a few databases in my time. There was information there about them." The Daleks had information on nearly every species in the universe, if only to have a comprehensive list of their strengths and weaknesses. The Weeping Angels hadn't presented much of a threat, seeing as Daleks didn't really need to blink or look away like humans did. Her gaze followed the Doctor (but was he really?) around as he began to fiddle with the console.
Regeneration? Oh, right. Time Lord. Thank goodness she'd looked up the Doctor on the database as well. "Past or future regeneration, then? I'd say past since you don't remember me, yeah?" It stung a little that he didn't, but Oswin had to remind herself that she was meeting the Doctor before he'd met her in her own timeline. She looked up as the whirring noise began, figuring out pretty quickly that the TARDIS was simply moving. It was more a feeling than an actual sense of motion, but present nonetheless.
As the whirring noise ceased, Oswin looked over as the Doctor opened the door, revealing the circle of Angels, stuck looking at each other for all eternity. She grinned. "Now that is brilliant. Guess they weren't quick enough to cover their eyes." She stepped outside, breathing in the fresh air. Strange how she hadn't realized how much she'd missed something as simple as being outside, even if it was dark. Turning around to face the Doctor, Oswin studied him curiously.
"They why you came here, then? People were disappearing?" Strange that they'd just happened to encounter each other. Oswin had to admit it was quite a coincidence. Had the Doctor picked up on whatever it was that bought her here?
