The Scion of Asgard would normally have payed this incident no mind. The only reason that it had even drawn his attention at all was that it was all too familiar to his own arrival on Earth all that time ago. Crashing down seemingly from the heavens, out in the midst of nowhere. It had struck a chord and he had stopped to listen to the rumors, but little more. It did not concern him. At least until it was mentioned that whatever it was had fallen in nearly the same spot that Mjolnir had plummeted to Earth all those years ago. That had been enough to get the Thunderer in travel.
It seemed only mere hours had passed since the thing had impacted Earth in the first place that Thor made his arrival. The sky overhead grew dark, clouds pulling in from the horizon. The fierce desert sun was blocked out, and thunder rumbled ominously among the clouds, which quickly grew darker. In a flash of lightning, the clouds parted, revealing a clear hole through their midst to the clear sky above. And down from this opening among the clouds came Mighty Thor.
He descended to the ground and alighted gently despite his great size. He surveyed the land about him for a handful of moments, before he again lifted off from the ground. He blasted off like a thunderbolt, and came down once more on the edge of the crater that the object had made on impact. He strode up to the rim of the crater and stared down into it, and for a moment he was speechless. Then he blinked his surprise away and stared in wonder. "What in the nine realms...?"

Accidents were the least expected phenomenon during travel... but when one happened, boy did it have its consequences. Impact was busy carrying errands throughout his world when out of the blue, he was delivered some aberrant news from his locals the moment he landed upon the surface. An ordeal happened between a few other neighboring planets, with his being stuck right in the middle.
A spat over resources. One party resorted to threatening with force for resources and pressuring the other surrounding planets to tip in theirs. Naturally, the pacifist within him wanted to help out before the situation became worse. All it took was a moment of his time and the whole tribulation ended fine and dandy, exactly how he wanted the outcome to go... but ironic that on his way back home, he had his own little issue.
Meteroids were far more common within the depths of space with the eruption of force growing more and more common. They were noting more than remainders of worlds that once existed, blooming with life, now chunks of rubble that polluted the travel-ways. Ah yes, he worried about his Planet... but the most he could do was to keep up his spirits and keep up with his leadership. He was the absolute sole reason why his Planet still existed. The same for Earth, the second home he adopted beneath his hands.
His mind was distracted, occupied by wandering thoughts. The first part why he made a mistake. The moment Impact caught the presence of a large meteor hurdling towards him, a quick panic and he activated his boosters to increase the amount of thrust. A sharp crack could only be heard when they failed to initiate-- and before he knew it, the Meteor smashed right into his chassis with a thunderous explosion, sending the machine hurdling towards... wherever the force would take him.
The force from the meteor damaged his a few vital systems that kept his chassis running, sending the mechanical being into an offline state, similar to human unconsciousness... at least until his system was manually rebooted.

The sight before him was a strange one. It appeared to be some sort of....giant mechanical being. It reminded him both of the giants he had often warred with in the past, and of the technology that his friend and ally, Iron Man, employed. It was a curiosity indeed, and it was with great caution he stepped down into the crater and advanced toward it. It was clearly damaged, yes, but no amount of damage could mean it wasn't a threat. And if it was a threat...
If it was a threat, it would meet Thor's hammer.
He stopped some handful of feet from the cast mechanical form, crossing his arms over his chest and looking up at it. Normally he could sense all forms of life and sentience, even from inorganic and seemingly "nonliving" creations such as this being. But he could sense only the barest minimum of any such thing at the moment, as if it were near death, or otherwise unconscious or inoperable. It was clearly in need of help, and even if it did turn out to be a threat...non would ever accuse Thor Odinson of not first lending a hand of aid before resorting to the hammer of war.
A swift leap took him to the air over the machine where he looked down at it. His eyes were wide and staring, and to an observer might have looked as if he were simply lost in amazement. But behind those impossibly old eyes, the mind of the Mightiest Son of Asgard was hard at work. Stripping away pieces and layers of the machine in his mind, pulling it apart to figure out how he might best aid it. it was not easy work, as much of his thoughts were conjecture and possibility at best, but he slowly began to form a picture -- slowly for him, at least, though it was only a handful of seconds at best. The mind of the Mighty Thor was a billion billion times faster than any mortal mind.
He descended to land on the central torso of the robotic figure, kneeling down. He placed his left hand on the metallic body of the mechanical being, splaying his fingers over it. His eyes closed and he sank once more into thought, feeling out the recesses of the being's workings. A swift message was sent through the entire being's body; a sense of ease and an offer of help, more emotional and mental images than an actual message. Then Thor raise his legendary hammer above his head, coursing with lightning.
A bolt erupted from the hammer to the clouds above, piercing the clouds and tearing them apart. Immediately, the sky darkened and clouds swirled rapidly together, rumbling with thunder and flashing with lightning. A massive bolt of lightning speared down from the heavens, striking the mythical hammer in Thor's hand. The hammer now crackling with uncountable power, Thor brought it down in a mighty blow upon the robot's form, all at once releasing the energy through it with a mighty surge.
The physical damage done to it would all at once begin to heal and repair itself, sealing over and restoring the giant mechanical being to near perfect form before, deep within the massive robot, his central systems were kickstarted by the jolt, similar to defibrillation of a human. His work done, Thor leaped back, coming down to land at the edge of the crater, Mjolnir stuck back in his belt, arms folded over his chest, and waiting.

How... abnormal. Normally Impact would not be able to see or compose any sort of images within the depths of his consciousness during an offline state of awareness, but injected within his mind were these misty, almost dream-like images. Peaceful images streamed about, of a strange blonde man clad in an outfit that described him as strong, mighty. A man worthy of his status, a powerful warrior-- or at least those were the vibes that he formulated from what he ‘saw’.
Naught a moment later, an incomprehensible amount of energy surged through his chassis, giving the mechanical being a much needed jolt of power to reboot his system. A sharp flash and an automatic message was delivered to his system, alerting to him what had happened. The heart begun to beat faster and faster, eventually reaching its regular lively pace. Unbeknownst to the affable machine, the surge of energy had an extra benefit of restoring a majority of the damages he endured, smoothing out his dents and scratches, including injuries of the most severe.
Rejuvenated and amply powered, Impact found the energy to move! And so, with a grunt and a struggle, his arms broke free from the rubble. Boulders and torn earth shifted beneath his weight when he positioned his spherical hands on the ground, just at the edge of the crater. Another shift and the ground rumbled when he shifted his legs. Here, he utilized his strength to push himself up, adjusting his legs once more so that his knees were planted beneath the earth. Now, the enormous machine sat upwards, looking awfully dazed and confused in both his eyes and his expression. He still had those images fresh within his mind, that blonde man.
Next to click online was his sense of awareness. And now, all functions were working properly! His radar quickly picked up and alerted him of another presence that lurked about at ground level. And the first thought he immediately jumped to was him! The blonde! There he stood, just at the edge of the mighty crater, his arms folded across his chest, wind caressing the folds of his rich red cape.
“Ohuu--” A bright jubilant smile lit up on the machine’s face. “A-Anata! Sore wa anatadesu! Watashi wa watashi no kokoro de mitekita burondo!” And then, a pause fell over the machine’s face. Everything else was working perfectly okay except his translator, he realized. It was set to his default language when he was rebooted. He quickly caught himself and brought his hand up to his mouth in embarrassment, cheeks flushed a little red. A second later and the setting was properly adjusted.
“Uuuu-- many apologies! That is my default tongue.” Carefully, the machine leaned in to get a closer look at Thor, consumed by his overwhelming curiosity as to who this man was. “Wow... Uuuu... You... You look exactly like the images that sprung up from my system! I-- I-I must say thank you!” Impact said! He was absolutely fascinated!
( "You! It's you! The blonde I've seen in my mind!" )

Thor watched, with some interest, as the machine pulled himself up into a sitting position. The expression on his face never faltered, but the twinkle of amazement in his eyes betrayed his thoughts well enough. He waited patiently for the machine to get its bearings, and as it turned to him, Thor could only grin at the expression of the face of the machine. When he spoke up, Thor was momentarily nonplussed -- it was strange to him to hear a language spoken on Earth from a machine from the stars -- but he quickly recovered and responded in kind. "Hai. Sore wa tadashī." He inclined his head, before continuing. "Watashi wa yorokon nanji o kaishūdesu."
He quirked a brow at the seeming embarressmant of the machine. The reason for it was revealed a moment later, and Thor could only laugh. "Thou need not apologize, friend. It is of no consequence; all languages are spoken by mine tongue." As the machine leaned in closer, Thor looked up at him and smiled at his words. "Aye, that was indeed I. It is not in my nature to leave any being, be they from beyond the stars or my own home, to lie in pain and defeat if I am able to relieve them of it." He paused for a short moment. "I am Thor Odinson. May I inquire as to thy name?"
(("Yes, that is correct. I am glad thou art recovered." ))
