Go see the world, she said.
You'll find adventure, she said.
You'll have a blast, she said.
Well Belle was one hundred percent wrong.
Innocent found himself wandering outside of Storybrooke by himself. Belle had told him to go explore the outside world, but she said that she couldn't go with him. He didn't understand why, until of course he found out if the residents of Storybrooke that were under the Curse tried to leave, they'd turned back into their brainwashed selves.
He really didn't want to wish that onto Belle, and she'd already pushed him over the line and wouldn't let him back over it until he spent a few hours outside of town. However, Innocent didn't like it one bit. "Outside of town" was a giant stretch of pavement and spooky looking forest.
He didn't like how the air felt different, stranger, than it did in Storybrooke. He felt like something was following him, and it put him on edge. Innocent always was a bit of a scaredey cat. His arms were pulled in close to his chest as he walked on the side of the road. No cars ever passed him, nor did he see any, as he walked. It was just him all alone walking down the side of the road on a warm afternoon.
"It's okay, just gotta walk around for an hour and head back...then everything will be okay. We'll be back in town, we can have a cup of tea, and I can go back and hide in the shop..." Innocent jumped as he heard a twig snap. He turned to see a squirrel staring at him before it scurried up a tree. "And we're terrified of killer squirrels. No, no, squirrels don't eat people, they eat tree nuts. Yes, tree nuts, harvested for spring, and n-not people. Yes, not people, ahaha aaahaha....Belle when can I come back it's scary out here."
A whimper came from Innocent as another squirrel ran passed him.
This place wasn't exactly the Truffula Forest. That place was colorful and friendly and singing animals...yeah singing animals.

Guess who could leave town? This lumberjack guy who almost looked like the Brawny paper towel man, that's who! Of course, he wasn't in plain sight and wandering about with his chainsaw trying to find yet another perfect tree to cut down! The mayor PROBABLY wouldn't approve but hey, the guy obviously likes owls! On his tree searching adventure, there was a commotion.
This seemed to be normal here, commotions and all that. This time it was a girl shoving some INNOCENT looking bean-pole built man across the city limits and forcing him to have a delightful adventure or something like that. Kinda like how mommy birds shove their babies out of their nests and see how well they can fly. Some of them ended up learning how to be professional suicide bombers, others developed flying skills. Looked to Gabriel that he would get along smashingly with the suicide bomber birds! So admittedly, he was going to have to have a bit of fun messing with em' for a bit. In fact....the black haired fellow had SUCH a good idea...human eating squirrels.
Why not, right? A diabolical little half grin slipped across his lips...one hand holding the chainsaw at his side...the other up at the length of his jawbone before emitting a snap. It was really very doubtful that such a soft thing could be heard from where he was unless SOMEONE HAD SUPER HEARING....or something like that. Anywho, blood curdling screams came from the innocent fellow's right and hoooo boy if he looked over...it would be the gruesome sight of squirrels snacking away on a squirming John Doe no one really cared about. Especially not the trickstering angel considering how he just fathomed the red head civilian trying to escape and crying out for help. "OH MY GOD!!!! THE SQUIRRELS!!!! THEY'RE EATING MY EEEEEEYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEES!!!!!!!"
Eh...okay so it probably didn't help that manly man lumberjack Gabriel moved his hand over to the little pulley cord and began revving his chainsaw up which could be heard from the left. Sure, he wasn't visible just yet but boy oh boy could he be heard getting closer....and closer....and....closer...... To any normal person, this would probably seem like horror movie incarnate. Precisely how he enjoyed to burn is boredom time....scaring the crap out of people. Besides, he probably deserved it for some reason or another, just desserts had their way of finding the right people with him...

Innocent was about to turn around and head back when he heard the screaming. The beanpole froze as he turned slowly to notice the man being torn apart by an army of demonic squirrels. The poor boy's eyes widened as he nearly let out a shriek. He quickly covered his own mouth as he watched in horror as the man screamed bloody murder. What should he do?! What could he do?!
Run, beanpole, run!!
The tall male didn't know what to do besides run for it, especially after he heard the revving of a chainsaw.
"Belle was wrong, very wrong. I hate nature, I hate squirrels, I hate the outdoors, and I hate chainsaws," Innocent whimpered to himself as he dashed up a tree, without even realizing that squirrels could climb, or even the fact that they lived in trees.
He sat on a branch that could hold his weight. His legs were pulled up against his chest as his eyes surveyed the ground below him. His breathing was heavy as he could still hear the chainsaw. Though that's when he heard another weird noise near him. His head turned to see a squirrel staring right at him. He stared at it for a good minute before he screamed and sort of...fell out of the tree.
He made a nice landing directly on his face, getting a nice big mouthful of dirt, which he spat out upon lifting his head. "I should have stayed in the city, nature has a death warrant on me."

Squirrels slowly peered out of the trees when mister tall and slender flopped out of the tree gracefully landing on his face. Okay so that wasn't the most eloquent of landings but it was poetic enough and really....this was all too fun for Gabriel to call off just yet. Oh ho ho ho he was most certainly going to have more fun with this young man! Not the kind of fun which would leave the victim of his twisted humor rolling in a barrel of laughs, of course. Granted, the Trickster would DEFINITELY get a laugh out of this.
HECK! In fact he let out a fit of laughter then revved his chainsaw a bit more as the squirrels scurried out of their trees. The look locked within those beady eyes of theirs just had such diabolical and murderous intent. It was almost as though they heard the dinner bell ring and thy name was dear....sweet....INNOCENT. A bunch of them slipped into a bush near by and vooshed right on out wearing itty bitty ninja outfits. Yes. Squirrels in mini ninja outfits.
All of them made a half circle behind their victim of the day. Angry chittering sounded off from the small group as they all got in their poses to show this guy they meant serious business! ...oh and the other squirrels snacking away on the random carrot top haired loser were almost done with their meal...uh ooooh!

Belle probably wouldn't believe him if he told her about being attacked by murderous squirrels outside of the town line. Well, that was if he got out of here alive! That and there was an insane axe murderer off somewhere in the forest revving his chainsaw away! He didn't even hear one timber or falling tree! He was going to die, death by squirrels it would be for poor Innocent-ler! What would the after life be like? Would he, Greed, and Oncie be three separate spirits? Or would they be stuck together forever? The Spirit-lers?
"I should have never let Belle push me over, this is Hell!" Innocent whimpered, trying to curl up in a ball as he was surrounded by squirrels.
"WHATEVER I DID TO DESERVE THIS I'M SORRY! LORAX IF THIS IS YOUR DOING I'M SO REALLY SORRY. I DIDN'T MEAN TO KILL YOUR FOREST. I DIDN'T MEAN TO SEND YOU AWAY. I'M SORRY I BECAME GREED. I'M SORRY HE HURT YOU. YOU WERE THE ONLY PERSON WHO EVER CARED ABOUT ME AND HAD FAITH IN ME. I'M SORRY I DIDN'T LISTEN TO YOU. I'M SO SORRY!!" He cried out, voice echoing into the forest...wait was he actually crying?
His distress made him not even realize that the squirrels were wearing ninja outfits. His mind was preoccupied on the one finishing his meal on the ginger haired male further away from him. All he could think of was how painful could it be to be eaten alive by a squirrel? Would it match the same pain the Truffula Forest suffered when he'd chopped it down? Was this Karma out to get him? Nature's Revenge? Was this forest related to the Truffula one and it was out to get him?

A lot of his inspiration came from the media and he made what some people knew or thought of to be fake all too real. Going beyond the normal comfort zone, of course because a lot of the time it didn't end well for the receiving party! AH HAH AND HE WAS MAKING IT SO MUCH EASIER! See, he wasn't running away, no no no....he was going into confessional mode and going on about how he wronged something called the Lorax. ...was someone who made an imprint on this freaked out man clad in green?
Okay, it was time to pick up the tempo and stop traumatizing the poor victim soon since the joke was going to get repetitive and downright stupid. Then there was the BORING part, you can only drag out a gag for so long before it was really dumb. Presenting to his unknowing victim was the finale. While he was curling up in a ball, letting those words of remorse ring like a bell throughout the forest, one of the ninja squirrels jumped up to stand upon his rump...the words they sang were in a high enough voice to make a bunch of choir boys jealous! ...Though it may have been twenty percent scarier if they had deep voices....oh well!
"I'm gonna sing a song for yoooou! and I'm gonna show you a thing or two! So curl up big n' lanky, if it's all the same... Just lay there and relax...."
Cue the deep voice with squirrely backup! Of course, the chainsaw was coming closer and closer....
"WHILE I EAT YOUR BRAAAAAAINS!!! Na, na. na; gonna eat your braaaaains BRA-BRA-" AAAAAAAAAND CUT! The little devils were interrupted by a chainsaw cutting the poor buggers in half with one GLORIOUS swish!
It was...a...uh...interesting spray of rodent parts for sure. Turning off his chainsaw before tossing it upon the ground, the manliest of lumberjacks not really but he can dream, can't he? looked upon him with sheer concern for his well being. "Young man! Are you alright?!" Ah...that sounded genuine enough....maybe he would get perceived as some magical messenger of this Lorax. It sounded a bit familiar, but all in all...he'd have to look into it later....

Innocent's face went from a sobbing mess to a ghostly white as the chainsaw came out of nowhere. Did a speck of dead squirrel just get on his jacket? And blood on his face along with other squirrely bodily fluids? Oh God he was going to be sick. He could already feel the lovely lunch that Belle had prepared him started to make its way up north. The boy didn't handle gore well.
That's when lumberjack appeared. He must have been to the one making squirrel sushi before... The boy wasn't able to form much words except a quickly muttered "Excuse me for a momen--!" Before he ducked behind a nearby tree and expelled the contents of his stomach. He waited a few minutes before returning to where the lumberjack was, making sure to have cleaned himself up after the purging of his stomach.
"S-Sorry a-about t-that," He said, stammering out of shock, "T-They c-came out of n-nowhere and th-they were eating..a-a p-person! A p-person! An-And th-they came after me. An-And if you didn't come along I would have b-been their lunch!"

If there was anything that happened to be painfully difficult to pull off with a great amount of success....it was not laughing at something hilarious. Right now, he wanted so much to laugh at the straggly fellow and make fun of his unfortunate predicament with all sorts of snark...BUT NO! He had to keep it together and avoid making himself seem like a complete and utter jackass. ...at least not yet anyway. All he did was have a little fun to kill his boredom and boy did it work like a charm! Honestly it was by some miracle he didn't sass off at the lanky civilian by now...there was so much to work with. Thing was though, he had a cover to maintain and needed to make sure he didn't somehow make people get all sorts of suspicious.
Storybrooke was DEFINITELY odd and worth looking into so being under cover was crucial...hmm...but maybe he should have brought the Winchester brothers along? They'd have added on to the entertainment factor....or...completely ruined it. Okay so maybe it was all for the better that he was soloing this adventure for now. Plus, he wanted to figure out more or less what was up with this place before attempting to get the brotherly duo's attention. Oh! It looked like tall and twiggy was done with his barf break! Well golly gee willickers!
He sure was stirred up and incredibly thankful for his life being rescued, that's for sure. Ahhh then again, only someone as talented as himself could make squirrels so....musically threatening. That's what was called a rare talent! "I've never heard of squirrels singing and eating humans before like some kind of musical horror movie, but there's a first for everything, right?!" Reaching over behind the traumatized guy a swift pat on the back.
"I gotta say though, you were pretty brave!" No, he didn't believe that. In fact, he wanted to freak him out juuuuust a little more before since he was so spineless...one of the chopped squirrels began twitching and crawling toward dear, sweet Mr. Skiddish. ...for now he pretended not to see it at all....

"M-Me? Oh no, I'm not brave," He replied.
Innocent-ler nearly toppled over as the male gave him a pat on the back. He stumbled a bit but then caught himself as the lumberjack continued to talk--all the while Innocent kept up a nervous smile. That was, until he noticed the twitching squirrel on the ground.
His eyes went wide and his face drained of color.
His long limbs began to quake as he stared down the creature, terror written across the poor boy's face.
"S-S-Sir, I-I-I h-hate to interrupt, but one's still m-m-moving," His voice shook just as much as his body was as he tried to point out the chopped up creature.
Thankfully he'd already emptied everything in his stomach, which pushed back a need to throw up yet again. Though it didn't help that the poor thing looked like he was about to faint...scratch that, he was about to.
The tall male felt his legs give in, his body falling backward as he fell into a fainting spell. The poor thing had had enough of terrifying squirrels for one day.
