Name: Sidney Glass
Alias: The Magic Mirror; The Genie.
Age: Super-old 'cause genies live 5evur.
Archetype: Villain
Personality: Sidney is...really, he's kind of a major tool. He once only longed for freedom and love, and soon after the King freed him, he thought he'd discovered both. Unfortunately, the object of his affections was none other than the Evil Queen herself - Regina. After becoming totally blinded by his obsession with her, he now does whatever she says without much question. He doesn't give much thought to who else he betrays, and he can be incredibly weasel-y and slimy in the way he tries to manipulate people. He's also...uh...kind of a creep? I mean, he's a mirror. Who can spy on anyone, at any time. That's really, really creepy.
History: Sidney was once not a mirror - or a human - at all, but in fact a Genie. For hundreds of years he spent his life trapped in a lamp, granting wishes to all who came across him...until one day, King Leopold came upon the lamp. Wishing nothing but happiness for his kingdom and all who resided in itexcept for regina i guess, the King used his wishes to free the Genie - and gave the one remaining wish to the Genie to use for himself. Leopold then insisted that the Genie follow him back to his kingdom, where he was certain he would find the love he was searching for.
And so he did. Like how any normal person would repay their only friend and the person who'd freed them from miserable enslavement, Sidney's first dick move was to immediately fall head over heels for Leopold's wife, Queen Regina. Regina was by that point incredibly corrupted by dark magic and her own hatred, and decided to use this situation to her advantageso basically, this is The Room if The Room took place in the Enchanted Forest. Feigning love for the Genie in return, she tricked him into murdering the King for her so that they could 'be together' - but then made sure that the Genie would get caught in the process.
SOMEHOW UNDETERRED BY THIS HORRIFICALLY BITCHY TREATMENT, Sidney used the one wish Leopold had given to be able to 'stay with Regina forever' ...and ended up being trapped in Regina's mirror. And that is the story of how the Evil Queen got her magic mirrorhe also instigated fights by telling Regina that Snow was prettier than she was.
He served the Queen for many years, and then, when the curse struck, took on the persona of Sidney Glass the newspaper reporter in Storybrooke. Unfortunately for Sidney, once the curse was broken twenty-eight years later, he found himself trapped in the mirror again. Welp.
Powers/Abilities: Sidney is basically the ultimate creeper. Yes, with him, creeping is a power. He can look into any location, spy upon any person, and show the viewer of the mirror whatever they want to see - assuming, of course, that whatever he's trying to look at isn't protected by powerful magic.
Weaknesses: Weeeelp. If you cover all reflective surfaces around you, he's not going to be able to use anything to see you?
