OOC/MISC CHARACTER NOTES
Cbox Name: CobblerTack
Nicknames: .w. Cobbler man, Tack, someotherstufftoo?
Main Account: -shrug- .w.
Who else do you play?: >w>
How did you find us?: Internet! .w.
Category: Canon of The Thief and the Cobbler (Meshed with The Thief and the Cobbler Recobbled cut, a fan restoration of the film in an attempt to make it "complete" including original story board. Such as pieces that should have been in the film but weren't due to going over budget. It's about 24 minutes longer than the "Miramax" version where the thief has hilarious inner thoughts and Tack is the narrator with more speaking roles.)
Ranking: Hero
Reason for being on AM: Stumbling through a magical mirror and now he's here!
Basic Details
Age: 17 (It doesn't really say so I'm just winging it here)
Species: Human
Personality: This Cobbler isn't a man of many words, so not really a conversationalist like most. For the most part, he's very quiet and usually won't say much at all. It's fairly difficult for him to strike up a conversation, thinks about things quite a bit and definitely speaks more through his gestures/body language to communicate with the world around him. Tack can and does speak. It's on the rare side aside from a few short phrases, sentences, etc things of the like.
Though he isn't a pauper we can go about calling rude, it's more like he's shy and introverted in nature. Sometimes timid, but this cobbler has a heart of gold and will step out from the background and into the light of being a hero when the time comes. He tries to get away from trouble, avoid it or mind his own business most of the time. Other times though, Tack will be sure to help when he feels it's right. Sadly, this kindhearted cobbler who keeps quiet is also a bit clumsy.
He's very skilled at making shoes and handy for fixing things like glasses, but Tack has a way of finding trouble every now and then with fumbles he takes. Luckily for him, he's crafty and will figure things out in due time! Especially when his friends or those he cares for need him most because he is dedicated and loyal under his awkwardly silent, yet timid exterior.

"OOF!" The first thing out of Tack's mouth was OOF from the impact on the ground. Where was he?! That nameless thief took the shoes the cobbler worked so hard on making for her! Maybe it was wrong to hope an old dog could change his tricks, but now he was stuck in a place that looked far from familiar. Slightly rubbing the back of his head while getting up, his body ached a bit from the impact...but when his bright blue eyes took in the sights before him, the grey and black clad cobbler gazed upon the buildings with innocent awe.
He wasn't in the Golden City ruled by King Nod anymore....no, he was definitely somewhere else. Question was, where? Looking about in confusion to his surroundings, it seems like he wasn't the only one observing the scenery! In fact, a child came up to him and tugged on his patchy pant leg. "Mister, mister! You came out of the wall like a ghost! Hey! Where'd you get your funny shoes?"
Huh? What was it now?! Shaking his head a bit before staring down at the girl, he pointed toward himself with a long slender digit. A look of baffled puzzlement were pretty darn obvious on his features as he looked upon the small child. The two tacks at the corners of his mouth pointed downward.
With the way he held himself, it was pretty obvious he was quietly wondering if the question happened to be directed at him. "Yes, you! Where? Where'd you get your-," "Tabi, sweetie! Get away from the strange looking homeless man!"
"But moooooom!" Watching the girl get taken away from the girl, he tilted his head toward the right wondering why he was called homeless. As true as it may be...he was normally called a cobbler, not homeless! Bringing up a bandaged thumb toward his chin, he stood up at full height and looked around thoughtfully trying to figure out what to do now. Glancing over his shoulder for a moments time before fully turning to face it, he began tapping at it...and nothing...nothing happened.
"..uh oh...this isn't good...," mumbling those words worriedly to himself...he had to figure something out and quick too!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Abilities
Shoe Cobbler: With a knack for fixing and making shoes, you can say this is his specialty. If it's needed, he'll use his cobbling abilities to help buy himself or others time in a bad situation.
Sleep Cobbling?!: It's not useful for many things, he literally cobbles in his sleep every now and then. Stitched the nameless thief up like a boot, so to speak!
Luck?: Tack's luck is very strange. By that, it's like he could take down a whole army with a single tack to landing in an unsavory situation only to make it not so bad.
Toss off!: Now he doesn't know martial arts like a black belt or kung-fu master! Tack is good at throwing others to help get them off of him. Not across a room or something crazy, it's more or less like a basic technique to getting some stinky guy who has been crawling around in smelly pipes off. Basic stuff.
Fancy thread work/cat's cradle: It's no secret that Tack is amazing with thread! He can make very intricate designs by just weaving thread with his fingers and sometimes tacks to make complex shapes and partial animations as well. That is with the slight movements and shifts of the thread caused by his fingers. In the event he wanted to speak with thread rather than his voice, he can make words laced in thread instead. (Click for example!)
Crafty Cobbler: Tack can be super crafty with what supplies he has stowed away in his pockets and even with what little he has to work with at times. Quite resourceful, you know!
Rodent charmer cobbler?: Making fuzzy little friends in the cell, he can figure out how to make friends with those little critters.
Lock pick tack: With a tack, he can pick a lock. The duration of this varies on the complexity of the lock, of course!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Main/Important Equipment
Tacks, needles and thread...oh my!: Tack has so many of those in his pockets that they tend to fall right out of his pockets when he falls over. Almost like an endless supply, the boy is stocked for a cobbler who doesn't make much money! This handy dandy cobbler can even use his supplies as weapons when necessary!
Pockets?: Even though he's not lucky with money, Tack has pockets with lots of space!
File: It got him out of jail, it's a file! Not a sandpaper file, but a metal file that can grate its way through metal bars in due time! Don't underestimate the power of a file!
Weaknesses
Psychological Flaws...
Shyness: Being as shy as he is, it makes communicating "normally" much more difficult than it needs to be. Tack doesn't say very much, and he's a bit timid so it'll take him a bit more to communicate with others.
Naive: Being a bit naive isn't always the biggest help, especially when SUDDENLY he's a strange land! The cobbler isn't really sure of this strange new world and has a lot of learning to do.
Physical Flaws...
Tall, Lanky, and Occasionally Clumsy: Add those things together and you have a lot of accidental injuries.
Everything about being a human: As it says on the tin! Normal human, here!
Other Flaws...
Visitor from another time and place: Tack isn't used to a lot of things in this time and has yet to find his way in this place. On top of all that, he doesn't even know where Princess Yum-Yum is and more importantly if she's alright! Having to learn about this place to adapt as well as trying to find his way back isn't going to be an easy task. One thing is for sure, he'll more than likely not fit in very well due to his awkward behavioral habits!
Pretty normal: Unlike most of the residents in this land, the only think he's got are his wits and natural ability. Nothing like a mutant spider bite or mutant powers. Not even black magic or psychic ability.
THIEF!: Okay so maybe this isn't the most legitimate of weaknesses, but it counts in its own right! It seems like whenever the nameless thief is involved, things don't go very well....
Zigzag: Oh the annoying Zigzag, he always seems to have it out for the cobbler and that isn't a good thing!
Princess Yum-Yum: Tack will go out of his way to help her and make sure she's safe and sound! In fact, it's his main drive for finding a way back home!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
History....
(Note!: There isn't a whole lot about Tack, so pardon that in advance! Spoilers and a twist at the end!)
An orphan raised by a shoe cobbler, Tack learned plenty in his youth. Focusing on his work, the cobbler didn't bother much at all with social interactions since he didn't really deal with customers. Mostly working on orders and minding his own business was a great deal of his life. Tack even got his own shop at some point and somewhere down the road, his life changed with the first encounter of a nameless thief! After sleep cobbling the guy like a boot, the thief wanted to get far far away from Mr. No Money In His Pockets.
Which, of course, woke Tack up and there was a very clumsy fumbling about which flopped the both of them near the arrival of Zigzag who had quite the flashy entrance. In that moment, Tack was the only one who got in trouble while the thief shuffled off on his merry way of stealing random shiny objects. Then again, all those tacks and spools of thread that sprinkled the ground and unluckily into Zigzag's path belonged to the cobbler. Being seized with a bunch of swords at his neck before getting hauled off to the castle, in the distance, Tack saw the beautiful Princess Yum-Yum for the first time. Not having so much as a clue about his fate, he found himself in an unsavory situation before the king.
It was really pretty crazy since Zigzag, a sorcerer of the black arts, was so threatened by stepping on a tack that he demanded death be the resolution. The king who trusted Zigzag entirely decided that whatever he thought was best would be fine...even if it was pretty extreme. Princess Yum-Yum intervened by asking what he did and sneakily snapping her shoe in half to save the pauper cobbler. That was when he actually got to spend time with the princess herself while repairing her shoe. Taking so much care in mending it, for now, he was her cobbler.
Not minding it in the slightest, Tack was more than happy to assist the woman who saved his life. There was a little addition he made to her shoe as Princess Yum-Yum was in his company, a heart made of threads upon the side. In that moment, he couldn't be happier. Of course, good things don't last forever...the nameless thief was back on a stealing spree and Princess Yum-Yum's shoe was on the list this time! Chasing after the stinky fellow only got him in more trouble, yet another encounter with Zigzag took place and this time he was imprisoned.
That scoundrel even took the shoe he worked so hard to not only repair, but retrieve as well! Poor Princess Yum-Yum was missing a shoe to her pair and the kind cobbler. Now he was spending quality time with the rats and mice in his cell, sharing his bread with them...unsure of if he'd ever see Princess Yum-Yum again. Up until he conjured up an escape plan! Though, it took a bit and he even had to defend himself against the fat vulture, Fido since Zigzag offered the cobbler up as a meal.
It wasn't all that difficult seeing as he shoo'd the carnivorous bird away with the prison ball strapped at his feet before backing against the wall as best he could. Avoiding that little catastrophe thanks to Zigzag being called upon by the king, Fido's breakfast was put on hold a while longer buying Tack some time. The escape plan would take quite a while, so the cobbler needed all the time he could get. Filing through bars was no easy task! Eventually though, he got out and was back on the road to freedom.
...that is after he picked the lock with a tack, of course! Making his way back to the princess, he got there just as she and the king were getting ready for an adventure to set things right. Seeing as the golden balls which were said to keep the Golden City safe were now missing. They HAD TO stop the One Eyes from bringing upon death and misery to them all! So an adventure they went on, discretely followed by the nameless thief.
Tack was taken aboard for his resourcefulness as well as trustworthiness. On they way, things weren't all smooth sailing. Though the princess and the cobbler managed to turn the tides in their own ways as well as recruiting help from the brigands who initially wanted to raid their caravan. Having the brigands as their royal guards was most certainly a smart move on the princess' part using her status as an advantage. Their travels from the hand to see the witch herself who said, ""When to the wall you find your back; a tack, a tack, a tack! Belief in yourselves is what you lack! A tack, a tack, and never look back!"
The heroic bunch encountered the One-Eye army who were defeated with the help of such a riddle. After that, everything seemed to go nicely...up until he was chasing the thief up to his old tricks for stealing something which belonged to his beloved Princess Yum-Yum! That's when he stumbled into a magical mirror taking him to this strange, unfamiliar land....
