Category : Original character
Name: Yuuji Matsudaira
Alias:
Sometimes at first his yokai form is mistaken for Raiju (The thunder beast). Eh, it happens. As for him being an Oni, he's often identified as the 'The White Demon' for his white/blue appearance in his beast form. Then more towards his mortal side, most joke about him being the 'Sadist Prince' for that sadistic personality he often lets out. Lastly, the one name that gives him the screaming urge to punch the s*** out of a certain brother of his, which he would be more than happy to do so, would be the name Yuki-chan.
Age: 19
Ranking: Anti-hero/ Yakuza
Physical Appearance:
H U M A N
Fancy and unkempt, those sort of traits don’t necessarily pertain to the way that this young man of six feet presents himself in. Unlike his older twin brother (of only just a messily 10 seconds) who dresses himself in such a manner much similar to the foreigners they often sees in their line of business, Yuuji is rather old fashioned. Traditional Japanese style to be more specific. His hair, without ever being tortured by the harsh chemicals of hair dye/bleach, is a cascading flow of a brown/black color. Healthy, straight, and almost long enough to step on. Despite the long hair giving off a rather ‘feminine’ appearance, to him, he manipulates the length so it can be styled in a way where the single horn in the middle of his head is hidden AS WELL AS his slightly pointed ears (). Sad thing is, he takes after his mother’s beauty in the face area so it can be a hassle at times dealing with perverts of the same-sex who, like the idiots they are, doesn't even give a second GOOD look at him. Victim of butt rape? Hm? Well aside from that, his eyes are a traditional chocolate brown like any other of Japanese descent, and his skin's almost as white as porcelain? The clothing over his average built body; he is often seen in male kimono/yukatas with geta or zori as his footwear.
O N I
Now lets ruin this rather delicate image of him and corrupt the minds of his admirers with this masculine beast of TWELVE feet! That's big, but not big enough by an oni's standard. With height and such a heavy build for what was just a minute ago a wo--ahem, 'man' or 'pretty man' for that matter, this beastly form of Yuuji's also comes with a much brighter tone in skin and even MORE longer hair. A glowing snowy white bathes itself on the very demon flesh he stands in. Misty blue hair now take over what was once a natural dark shade of black, now flowing in a greater length beyond the end of heels. His slightly pointed ears are much pointier now and long enough to form a thin elf-like tip at the end as it pokes out from his massive hair. Facial features dont take a dramatic change considering he's only a half-descent of an oni, but it does have a slight more beastly demeanor to it. Strange markings along with demonish fangs newly present itself.
Personality:
The Good,
Goody-two-shoes? Sweet-little-darling? NO. More like 'as good as he can get at this point', as most would say. His level of 'good' is shown through his loyalty and care for the Matsudaira clan. This is the only time you'd see Yuuji ever displaying 'obedience' to something other than his fearful mother. Honor and respect is what he lives by, and it's what he seeks to be given in return. Even if he has to smack some common sense into that person. As a business person, he has some more good points to add. Yuuji is the neat and organized type in his 'calm' state (as you'll find out a little after all this). He likes to keep to schedule on things, and can be a bit miffed if things don't turn out exceptionally well. He's also the type who takes that big step forward, taking in blame for anothers mistakes, as well as offering to be 'clean-up' crew when no one raises a finger.
The Not-so-good,
This pretty boy may have the charm, but his personality is just....something else. First impressions given by this half-blood scream 'I AM BETTER THAN YOU AND YOU KNOW IT!', which, isn't necessarily a good thing when it comes finding accomplices in their line of business. He doesn't mean it entirely though, honest to whatever-god-may-roam-above. Yuuji just has a way of being awfully blunt with 'new faces', unintentionally of course. The , somewhat of a, sardonic look on his face doesn't help much with the misunderstanding either. Well aside from a first encounter with this pokerface of a man, when you get to spend more time him you'll find that he has much more to him hidden underneath that mask of beauty.
Then there's the Evil,
Sadism anyone? Catching many by surprise, this man has a mean thirst for beating the living daylight out of, well, whoever gives him the opportunity to do so. Temptations, man, he is the worst to get rallied up in situations involving his fist and your precious little face. You know how idiots just LOVE retaliation, some even expecting not to get hit in return? WELL WHEN YOU MIX YUUJI WITH THOSE SORTS OF TEMPTING THINGS, despite that delicate face of his, he will not even take a second to resist giving the idiot WHAT HE WANTS! He might even go too far for that matter, witnessed one too many times by his dear brother. Which, now that it has been mentioned, a fair warning should be made when it comes to the sibling fights between Yuuji and his twin brother Yuichi. They can get a bit out of hand with hurting each other---lets rephrase that---they get out of hand with pleasuring each other. Knowing the crazy thoughts spouting through all the dirty minds out there, it's not what you think on the whole 'pleasure' deal.
More of, in scenario....
Yuichi gets Yuuji mad/upset --> Yuuji retaliates with any means of force --> Yuichi, quite assuming, enjoys the pain his brother exerts on him and asks for more, which he purposely agitates his brother to do so --> then Yuuji, like the pain giver he is, gives his brother what he wants.
As amusing as it may sound, this isn't a scene you want to feast your eyes on too long because, well, once it gets started, it wont stop. A lot of their 'long-term' associates have experienced the trouble of stopping these brotherly disputes they have. Most getting hurt in the process, but hey, no pain no game.
and In-between...
So here's some extra 'stuff' to fill you in with. To sum it up fairly quick, Yuuji, seeing as he's the more serious twin, remember he also very committed to his family as mentioned before. Now that's his good point, but there may be a smudge more hidden within that stoic exterior of his. A 'soft-side'. Question is, who can make such a...well...DEMON all soft? That would be his brother, his twin brother. Which have carried rumors concerning a certain little term known as 'brother-complex'. Of course, he refuses to admit such feelings of attachment for his dimwitted twin, but that doesn't do much for the eyes of its viewers.
Powers/Abilities:
Based on his ancestory, oni were originally invisible spirits or gods which caused disasters, disease, and other unpleasant things. Although the culture may have changed/improved, the ability to achieve complete stealth still lives. Basically Yuuji has the gift of invisiblity where he can make himself unseen to others. But due to the fact that he's only a half-breed oni, stamina becomes the cost of being in the state of the unseen for too long.
[ Faster than the speed of light ]
Oni's are widely known for their incredible speed and strength. Unfortunately when Ibaraki's children came to be, they were only blessed with greater potential of one of these abilities each. Yuuji, being more quick with his feet rather than what his brother's capable of doing with his bare hands. Comparing it to a more visual model, per-say, a mere human wouldn't match up to Yuuji's momentum. It would take an average demon, much like the similar type of his own kind, to be a challenge. Ten times of that than a mortal, something of that sort.
[ The Strong Man ]
Now getting the oni-genes of being quick, his strength doesn't necessarily match up to one of a full oni, example being his mother and/or brother. Despite that downturn in what he's capable of inflicting with his fist, he does have quite the strength maybe just a smudge above a human on steriods. Just minus the nasty side-effects.
[ Smell of Death, Hunger for the Dead ]
This serves as an additional sense that makes up his Oni half. He has the ability to see the souls of other, be it if they're dead or even almost for that matter. A blessing most mortals would find godly to know if one is about to die, but there's more to this sense than just it's seeing capability. Like the demon he is, when the smell or sight of another's soul being lifted off of their living shell, Yuuji gets this extremely strong craving to feast on it. It's like blood to a vampire, or living flesh to a zombie. Absolutely irresistible.
[ Blood Absorption -- KETSUEKI SUITORU ]
He cleans up his own bloody mess, no joke. Another one of the upsides to being of oni descent is being able to retrieve blood that leaks from nasty wounds with just a little skin contact. Well, his beast skin preferably. This technique prevents large amounts of blood loss that, if not returned to his body in time, may result in his body shutting down, which is all thanks to the human half of him. If it wasn't for that, then the blood collecting process wouldn't be much a hassle and on a time limit.
[ Unleash the Inner Beast ]
And don't take those words too lightly. His inner beast is literally a twelve foot creature that will rip your soul out of your body and eat it for DINNER. Haha....not so much of the ripping soul part. He is fairly tall, maybe even his eyes can eat away your mentality if you stare for too long. He is capable of staying in this form depending on his soul-intake. The more souls, the more Yuuji is able to control his beast form from change-in to change-out.
[ Tag Team ]
Put the yin and yang together and you'll get a pretty tolerable duo. And that's what you have here, the demon brothers. Despite their issues as any other sibling, they make quite the team. Almost to the standards of one single being seeing as their qualities make up eachother throughout the work they get themselves into.
[ Hands of Grace ]
Being immersed in the traditional side of Japan, Yuuji has obtained the skill to play musical instruments such as the Kokyuu and Koto. He falls more into the stringed instrument category being as his skills fall comfortably and naturally there. Though he is slowly bringing more diversity into his musical playing knowledge, like the traditional flutes for example.
[ Tsk tsk, Bachi ]
Batchi, as in, bad luck. Now this is where you wouldn't want to get into bad terms with Yuuji. Another oni given power, unintentionally doing so, he can control the amount of karma one has. Even if he's just standing right next to them. It's more pleasure in the punishment category, even if it's not by his own bare hands. All in all, he puts the ability to good use. Most of the time he likes to inflict more and more suffering of 'bad luck' on his victims, but then subconsciously he may do the opposite for some very strange reason. He of course, doesn't have to worry about having 'batchi'. Lucky him.
[ The Way of a Samurai ]
Swiftness and skill is what Yuuji revolves around when getting involved in disputes concerning anger and blood shed. On his 'busy' schedule, there's kendo lessons somewhere in it where he goes to from time to time (to a private teacher) to acquire knowledge and strength in skill. Because of his age and the years he's been learning the way of the sword, he refrains from moving up grades too quickly despite his extraordinaire abilities. It's to lessen publicity, and questioning which could lead to others finding out about his secret as a half-breed. [/ul]
Equipment:
He prefers to carry light than heavy. Knives, or to put it more specifically, specialized blades are often concealed within his garments as well as his handy blow dart which he only carries on him when a situation calls for it.
Oni's preference: Some weird giant magical baseball bat, as his brother would put it teasingly. Literally, it comes out of the ground. Also to add, it's a bit strange how his 'club' is thinner, yet longer than his brothers. ( O uO!! )
But anyway, aside from that, when he feels the need to keep his hands busy while he's away from his musical instruments, you'll see him with a fold-out paper fan in hand motioning air gracefully in his direction.
Weaknesses...
Psychological Flaws:
This is pretty obvious by the title. He absolutely hates it when people mistaken him for a woman. He literally will blow his top even by the smallest comment given to him. Maybe not too much out of composure, but you'll notice a slight change in tone or action when it happens. The whole 'blowing top' physically might come later only if he isn't stopped in time.
[ IT WOULD BE MY PLEASURE -- Sadism ]
A flaw? Pft! Well-...yes sadly. Flipping the switch to a pain inflicting sadist can be psychologically messed up, depending on the degree. That doesn't help much because, well, this side of Yuuji is very uncontrollable. It blows off his composure completely, giving it's viewers a totally warped impression about him. He accepts it, yes. And it's done some good for stress relievers so what's the point of hating himself for it.[/ul]
Physical Flaws:
Before you start having second thoughts whether he's really a half-blooded oni or not, well STOP. Though he may act like one, Yuuji is NOT a vampire. He wont burn up to crisp when exposed to sunlight. More like, say, burn to the point of a red nasty swelling. He takes a very deep concern for his skin's health, as he finds it a delicate part of his body. This is the reason why he dislikes being out during daylight hours, and if anything he will be seen with a heave load of clothing or simply an umbrella if he is FORCED to abide to step out at such a time.
[ I'm not full, I'm half you idiot ]
It's not necessarily a weakness, but it does have the 'weak' aspect to it. He's not a full-blooded oni, plain and simple. So his power/attributes that make up this beastly nature of his isn't as mighty as one such as his mother who is a full-bred. It's almost cut in half if you were to look at it from a scale on both sides, though maybe just a tad bit of his demonic nature overpowering his mortality by a few points.
[ Buddhism. ]
A priest of Japan who sure as hell knows how to do his job. From spells, chants, charms, anything that harms the supernatural, being his yokai blood, will definitely cause harm to him. Although, being a human makes the pain of those repellent less potent.
[ Health. ]
One big aspect that Yuuji takes great care of is his health. Due to his life being the way it is for him, he's always in great risk of danger to himself and to others. Feasting on souls is a must, and if he doesn't keep to that task, then his body will completely shut down in human state. Then, there are cases where the shut down takes place, then soon after a uncontrollable state of mind takes over unleashing havoc to his body and those around if not handled by the proper sources. This coming from experience....
[/ul]
Other Flaws:
He looks like something pulled out of an old history book residing in the edo period. His fascination for such a thing began after one simple story. A story an old man told him when he was just a boy. Ever since, he gained a cultured aspect on society and traditions. Some people find him honorable for it, and others of this generation see to it mockingly.
[/ul]
Brief History:
Once upon a time there were two very different people. One was a regular greedy human man and the other was a free spirited oni woman. Meeting by fate at a party, they both hit it off quite well and were unaware of the others real self. Connecting instantly to the other’s company, it led to a one night stand of course. And then BAM! The demon lady was carrying half breeds in her belly, twins to be exact…. Having cut ties and living alone away from her oni clan it was somewhat relatively easy to hide the fact she carried them. Sadly though, many scary strict traditional blood clans always kept tabs on stray family members, especially if one in particular was a high ranking lady. And her people weren’t as merciful as humans in the mortal realm, because creating half breeds was punishable by death. So after keeping a low profile until she later conceived the boys, she regrettably noticed that the level of invisible was much more ‘difficult’ now to hold up. Having the two boys in her stomach had been much easier than out and crawling around and in danger. In the end, she had to resort to involving the babies’ daddy.
He wasn’t happy at all, at the sudden appearance of that same woman who shattered whatever good he had in him. Even more, was with the tension when she found out he was one of those traditional monkeys in kimonos. VERY OFFENSIVE. But I think his biggest unhappiness (and shock) was the twin infants in her arms stating that they’re his. At first, he didn’t believe her, but after some tests he was proved wrong. Finally, admitting that they’re his, another surprise blew up in his face. The lady he had feelings for and possibly thought about for those seven months after she disappeared was actually a demon. She even showed him her true form just to make a point that she wasn’t crazy. And to him she wasn’t just any type of demon, she was an oni like in the old stories his caretaker would tell him just so he’d go to bed. Of course, the demon woman was sneaky as she pointed out that since she showed him what she truly was….she would have to eat him now since he knows her secret. Terrified of the idea of being eaten alive he begged to be spared. And so, that was how the deal was created. He would have to raise their sons and not speak of their true origins to anyone just so she wouldn’t eat him. If he had known the other reason why she needed him to keep his word, the man she momentarily fell for would appreciate her idea. Of course demon woman wasn’t going to spout….it was prone to become a vulnerability to her children.
Born as the second son, by ten seconds due to his pushy energetic brother who couldn't wait any longer to get out of their mothers womb, was Yuuji. Fate was decided already decided for him after that day he was brought into this wretched world. Well, more of his wretched 'life' in his eyes. As a child, he wasn't much of a clingy sort, if anything he was always next to his twin brother more than his own father. Due in part to his 'favortism' in which he never understood the reason of at that young age. As for mother, he saw equality in her eyes, even if she wasn't always there. Once a month, mother had 'business' to attend so face time was always limited due to other affairs in which Yuuji was too young to know about.
Father, well as it was mentioned, his eyes were already set on one and only one child. It wasn't Yuuji, of course. He was second born, second thought of, second mentioned. His father's prized possession was that twin, Yuuji's twin, the child that had been carried out of their mother's womb before he. Resentment, sure, that came later in the years he's been living with that old man. Little Yuuji was just a clueless, innocent child forever stuck in the game of favorites. He never clung to anyone, never had a reason to, and he always stood behind as the viewer, not the spotlight. As Yuuji grew into preteen Yuuji, and teenage Yuuji, where the picture became much more clearer, that's when things changed. He was a silent rebel, yet had a fake exterior of obedience. He learned the ways of deceit and that took him through many experiences in his young life. Especially being involved in things that not ordinary for your average person. Being the son of a Yakuza boss, in a gang-related family, having a mother who is a pure-breed demon for peetsake, what 'normal' can you find in all of that? So in a nutshell, Yuuji went through a lot of bullshit growing up, but that only helped him to mature.
Before we get too ahead though, let's back up to him finding out about this 'non-human' nature of his. He did noticed the changes physically and internally, but the dramatic stage hit close to puberty (which was quite early for him and his brother), and that's where mother had to come out with it all. It was pleasant but not so pleasant. The good news though was that he saw more of his mother during that time. It was just getting use to his inner demon was the most difficult, AND still is difficult till this day, task. For instance, at the age of fourteen, he was introduced to feeding. Since he was still at that age 'teen' age of negativity, this task was pure joy to him. And a good stress reliever at that too. The thrill of devouring people for the sake of his hunger, oh how he loved it. The bad thing is, at one point he had an obessed addiction to his newly obtained self, his oni, which resulted in a year of isolation ordered by his dear mommy.
Now moving along, around high school was the time he eased out of this 'rebellious' phase and starting looking more at the important things in his life. His secret and his brother. Sure, at one point he claimed dad's favorite to be his enemy but now he sees not worth his time. Plus, his brother has never done anything 'bad' towards him. Which, he was too blinded by his father to see after so many years. Thanks to his mother, he has never felt true hatred for Yuichi, which kept him still very close to him.
With the maturing and all, age nineteen and Yuuji is a well-mannered young adult. Almost. He accepts his title as second, and his father's actions no longer trouble him. Actually, his father is accepting to Yuuji's outlook on life now. He, taking an now more open interest in his grandfather's love for tradition (yes, the OLD MAN, haha), and as well as being more involved with the family business. On the other hand, his brother, the heir to the clan, is another story. He's so influenced by the new age that their father has been scolding, rather than favoring his first son. But of course, in anything related to his twin, Yuuji would be included in the blame as well since he, well, has to somehow be responsible for him. Ah, but the joy of seeing their dad fume up a raging storm only makes Yuuji want to allow his brother's naive actions to continue.
So, now comes the dad's back up plan to put his son in place. No, not Yuuji. His other son, Yuichi. Dad's serious this time. Even, for some odd and strangely awkward reason, he requested Yuuji's help for this important engagement. It's for the clan benefit, as father says, and for Yuichi's as well. 'The time will come', he says like the wise-ass man he tries to be. Funny thing is, this job requires getting together with an old and dear friend. Bao Yu Chao, of the Chao company. The three go way back, to where Yuuji actually openly bullied his brother. Bao, being his brother's rival, only made things more tempting for him to join in the fun. At one point, he, ahem, had a crush on Bao Yu but because he chose not to dwell on it for his brother's sake, he simply threw the feelings aside. Anyway, this job should be a whirlwind of fun.
Reason for being on AM :
To get back into the RPing spirit. I've been deprived of it for quite a while now....
Sample RP :
Clink. Light bathed the room from just a single light bulb, swaying freely from a thick cord attached to the ceiling above. The room was small, three, no, four figures stood evenly spaced around an occupied chair. Sitting in that chair was a masked body, still alive. A fabric rice bag, labeled with faded kanji and hiragana, dressed the slouching head of the suspect in the seat. A man more significantly, injured, weakened, and probably even suffocating. Well, obviously from the having a bag sheathed over his head tightly, but then don't forget, he's not the only one in this picture. Remember, there are four others in this room. These characters presented themselves as shady, extremely dangerous, and, oddly very good looking. The, well, younger ones of the four. "You have got info that we need." spoke a rather musky fellow of the group, masculine and quite the intimidating sort. He was even bald, if that makes it any better. The bag headed man replied in silence, or if breathing counts as words, then lets go with that.
One minute passed, and stomping right in came, uh, a rather feminine beauty dressed in a kimono. "You've got to be kidding me." -OR not. Out with what seemed to be a girl, then surprise surprise, a voice only fit for a male. How about a correction for his sake, dressed in a 'Y.U.K.A.T.A.'. Pulling out, quite gracefully, this slender pale hand of his, he, in one go, undid the string tied around the masked man's neck then flung the rice bag right off the man's head, unveiling the victim to it's viewers. "Now lets make this WORK." he addressed directly, with such irritation seeping through his tone, quiet harshly at that too towards the his three accomplices. What he means by 'work' is, for gods sake, follow the code and take the bag OFF the man's head before you start stating things. Two of the older looking men averted their eyes elsewhere from the yukata wearing man in front of them. But as for the third guy, deathly handsome young man, well, he just nodded with this anticipating sort of vibe coming from him. It was a bit eerie and unsettling to be honest. "So." spoke the porcelain skinned, yet frighteningly beautiful man, taking a step behind the sitting, rather filthy man.
