Cbox Name:NWinter
Nicknames: Winter
Main Account: Neverwinter
Who else do you play?: nobody!
How did you find us?: netwandering
Category: OC
Name: Neverwinter Eddodgel
Alias: Winter
Age: 19 yrs 6 mos
Ranking: Neutral
Physical Appearance: Winter, from the hips up, is a lupinoid of a femenine nature though he's male, covered in a fine, velvety coat of blue fur, with staight, fine violet hair thats allowed to grow down to his chest. He dresses like a girl, and a sissy one at that, loving to scurry around in cheerful whites, greys, and pink prints on skirts, most of the time. He wears glasses sometimes - big, round things that make him look like an english teacher - or contacts.
From the hips down, though, hes a gigantic (by spiders, mind ) cobalt blue tarantula! Winter could stand at eight feet tall if he reared up and didnt mind scaring people, but being the shy thing he is, he usually doesnt, and stays maybe five and a half. This awkward bodyshape makes things interesting, since its a chore to get through doorways and navigate the average store.
Personality: Winter's default setting is cringe. Its not that he's scared of people... but having to run away from mobs, listen to people (even in his homedimension) scream with fear or dodge the occasional blunt hurled object and run from loonies with REELLY BIG cans of raid makes a person nervous! So winter is shy, gentle, good natured... tends to give second chances and not hold grudges. Hes a quiet creature that more closely relates with women than men, partly because thats just Winter, mostly cuz he is half female spider by the curse that changed him when he was wee!
Powers/Abilities:
- Winter can scurry and climb really fast! Clumb walls, run ceilings, etc!
-Spiders like him! They wont bite and will do favors if he feeds em
-He can make silk, oddly - not many tarantulas can do that... but ok! Its strong, too!
-Winters got a good nose and ears, like a wolf!
-Winter's silk can do a variety of things! Sticky silk, strong silk, stretchy silk...
-Weaving comes naturally! Making webs, thats easy, but fabric and stuff are easy too - instinct!
- He can feel vibrations, like a spider, reely well!
-Lucky! He just seems to be in the right/wrong place at just thr right/wrong time. Its a knack.
-Winter can use a bit of magic - nothing too major, but stuff like making light, seasoning food, fixing broken glass or making something float around, no trouble!
Equipment: Nothing unusual! Just stuff like clothes, a phone, contacts, glasses and some jewelry!
Psychological Flaws:
-Meeeep! Wintter is a shy, jumpy little thing!
-He isnt very confident or bold - a damsel in distress! If someone is hurting 'her', 'she' cooperates or runs away!
Physical Flaws:
-Your human doors! They are so small! Things were akward in his dimension, but here? Doorways are difficult, cars or busses nearly impossible! Its not that either half is big... but both halves are!
-Could he stick out any worse than he does? Yes, but it would involve glowing and making a low droning noise. He looks really strange! People dont always handle strange very well!
-He is vulnerable, like a human! Really!
Other Flaws:
-Lucky! NOTE: I didn't specify good luck or bad luck. He is cursed to be very lucky! A peaceful, boring life just... isnt in the cards, its like reality just enjoys throwing the poor thing screwballs. Have a serving of fate, with an extra serving of DIVINE RETRIBUTION!
Brief History: Neverwinter Eddodgel is from a paralell, but distant, dimension. In his reality, humanity supplemented dwindling numbers after nuclear conflict by elevating plant and animal life. One key difference: Magic in his world is real.
He wasnt born what he is, though. Winter was cursed to his current form by a shaman that served 'Lady Spider', a spirit of trickery and dark magic for commiting henious acts against her. Death was too good for Neverwinter - If he was bold, the curse made him meek. If he was masculine, the curse made him feminine. If he was brave, the curse put fear in him; in addition to transforming his body, it transformed his mind and gave him an eternity to endure the changes in. It can never be undone - thats what happens when you piss off the gods!
Stuck in an alien body with a self he no longer knew, the thief Neverwinter became Winter, running from old bounties he could barely remember earning, old enemies who were just faces in the crowd, and the occasional mob who didnt like spiders verymuch. He was an adventurer before because he wanted to be! Now, he adventured by accident! Perhaps hero isnt the right word - he is harmless enough, but he seemed to find himself constantly put in danger and odd situations!
Think his luck improved when he slipped and fell into a pool of gateways, and ended up coming to earth? Not a chance, buster!
Reason for being on AM: JUST THAT LUCKY
Sample RP:
Stupid life, why you no simple? The last moment of sanity that Winter could remember in recent momory was waking up in a pile of clothing. What the heck happened? Hed had plans to stay inside the abandoned apartment complex he called home and eat day bread while watching cartoons! When did that plan mutate into running screaming chased by clowns with guns? Once again, Winter despaired of his destiny to have shit happen. All hed done was go down the hall twenty feet and see two humorless clowns trading a bag of white powder for the odd papery money humans use, nod at them as usual background strangeness, and go into the next apartment to use the working shower, and he suddenly had screaming clowns by the carfulls, toting automatic weapons after him!
He'd been polite hadnt he? Winter supposed he looked odd, but was that any reason to pull an uzi? It had been a miracle ( or sheer ballsy luck) that let him survive the first clown coming at him with a pistol! But that was the problem! He was lucky! Good! Bad! He just had... luck! Winter was just about aware that he was giddy on fear, despair, and adrenaline. The cursed one scuttled into the shadows of a boiler room and hid in the rafters in the old building, much to the great surprise of a very large spider that took residence there. It... sorta stared! It took Winter a good moment to adjust to the dark and see her though.
"Hello, don't mind me, miss... just hiding for my life." He said as if whispering polite things to a spider was usual. It patiently did not mind him. This was acceptable endeavor, with much fine tradition.
