Basic Details

^Age: UNKNOWN. Appears to be in his late teens or early twenties

^Personality: Axel wants to be remembered, to live on in memories. If he won't exist, even as a Nobody, at some point or another...the best way to keep on living is through a memory. So...got it memorized? Hence why he sees if all he meets got it memorized or tell them to get it memorized. Despite the fact that Nobodies, such as himself, are much like androids where their A.I allows them to mimic emotions and personality...there is no doubt that he IS his own person in a way.

Yes, he acknowledges being a Nobody and pretty much just mimicking his somebody to a degree, but has the just of what it's like to have a heart or at least close enough to it. Now, how is Axel outside of wanting to be remembered, hm? Well, Axel is definitely not a bad Nobody and fights for what he believes is right. He's also got a spunky personality that's obviously quite fiery! One can safely say he's cool and loves his sense of fun.

However, he also takes his work and mission very seriously as well as keeping up a good cover during his work as a double agent. So his intentions can be questionable at times, but it's very safe to say he's not evil and his intentions are not that of a villain. Even though he has his moments of giving the good guys trouble, he has his reasons and will prevail when it's the right time. On top of all that, Axel WILL NOT be helping nor aiding those to a T if he doesn't agree with their intentions. That's right, he may help someone he doesn't quite agree with because he's not above manipulating and using people until their use is drained.

This red head can and will be a backstabber at times since he has his own goals to achieve. Plus, despite being a Nobody, he has a genuine concept of friendship which is where his relationship with Roxas comes in. That's one of the very few individuals in his life that make him feel like he has a heart and treats him like a brother. Watching out for his closest friends, Axel is a fantastic friend and would more than likely sacrifice himself to save those who have a special place in his life. Even when the road is rough with his pals and he has to quite literally beat some sense into them, he won't harm them to the point of death or near death.

So yes, even though he'll hurt them to get a point across...it's not his first or primary option. Axel is the sort who tries to talk things through, yet be firm and a bit assertive in his own way before jumping to the combat gun. Don't think of him as a peaceful pacifist though, when he sees a threat, he won't juggle the thought of kicking ass for long. Friends and those who seem like they have truly good hearts will get a bit of leniency, but enemies or those he perceives as a threat? Nuh uh...he'll let his fiery personality take the helm and figure out their combative tactic by batting them around like a cat playing with a mouse before going in for the kill.

Axel is quite careful though and he won't stick with a fight he know he won't win and get out of it once he figures out it's not gonna work out for him. At times, he can be a bit stubborn and head strong...but not stupid. Sure, he has his own psychological downfalls, yet he's not a moron. This man has a plan and he can't execute it if he's dead. This fun loving guy will seem a bit chillax, but there are times that composure won't last for ever. Like when his fuse goes down, he'll get a bit more on the feisty and even a bit offensively defensive with a tinge of anger.

Mostly when it's a touchy subject. On that little note, he does express sadness at times as if he has a heart, but he'll try to snap himself out of it and be a bit more positive or optimistic. Mostly around his friends since he wants them to keep their chins up and keep focused on the light at the end of the tunnel. So he can be a bit upbeat when snapping out of a fit of sorrow OR he can even be a bit angry, really depends on the situation at hand. Just remember, even if he's not being a fabulous person to those he finds good or sees good in, Axel is doing that for a reason and will come around at some point or another.

Chakrams --- Summoned by fire, these are his weapons of choice. They're like a pair of wheels with spikes upon them.

Organization XIII Coat --- The club jacket DOES have a purpose! It helps keep him from being corrupt by the DARKNESS. Makes sense why we don't see him in normal clothes, doesn't it?

^{Psychological Flaws...}

We...don't have hearts...do we...? --- Surprise surprise! Believe it or not, this is a hard thing for him to deal with despite being blunt about what he is at times. Axel is one of the few Nobodies who experiences a sense of emotion which seems to grow and develop like a normal person. Yet, being what he is, deep down, Axel knows it's just imitation of what is. It DOES bother him because he wants a genuine heart of his own even if he knows he can't have one. Though he plays the role of optimist, it's obvious when it does get to him enough since there is a visible shift in his composure. Gotta admit, being unable to look into ones own heart can be bothersome when it means something to the individual.

Roxas and Sora --- Roxas is one of the members of Organization XIII that he actually likes/cares about. OH NOW DON'T YOU HOP ON THE YAOI TRAIN WITH YOUR BRAIN! He treats him like a brother, not a boyfriend. As with Sora, most likely because they're two sides of the same coin. Either way though, these two mean something to him, important, because they make him feel like he truly has a heart. Hell, can you imagine what would happen if Roxas left the organization? Axel would be disappointed and make that another part of his mission: get his best friend back.

Xion...? --- Believe it or not, but he does care about her as well. It's a little odd seeing where he stands about her, sort of like a contradiction. Even though he knows it's best for her to head back to where she belongs, it's not like he wants to see her destroyed. So yes, another person with a soft spot in his heart.

Oh so headstrong --- Axel's a smart one, not gonna lie, but he's also quite headstrong and this can get him in a few issues. Normally it seems to be combative situations.

A-holes...why yes...they do annoy him! --- He really doesn't like jerks or those with motives he simply cannot agree with. At times it will show, other times it won't because SURPRISE! He'll be using people to a certain point and then betray them himself. Can't wait for that part! Sometimes it'll be obvious when he's irked and that's what makes this a flaw.

^{Physical Flaws...}

Durable, not invincible. Got it memorized? --- Axel can take attacks like a champ, but he does get injured and hurt all the same. Fire attacks may do nothing to him, but water is definitely not easy for him to tank.

Nobody. --- He's a Nobody, that means when he dies, he goes no where aside from living on in memories of those he's met. Pretty much, when he's beaten up to what a normal individual could claim is death, he'll begin to vanish. When he vanishes, farewell existing...even just a little. Axel has his limits of physical endurance figured out so he'll part before this can happen. Unless, of course, it's a situation he finds is worth sacrificing himself over.

^{Other Flaws...}

``That's what happens when you put your whole being into an attack...`` --- Axel can handle a HUGE mob (think of a 2 - 3 story mall full of enemies and all those enemies are around their target. Or even about a block or two of enemies) with his powers, but it WILL come at a cost. His ability to exist in this world as what he is: a Nobody. When he puts his entire being into an attack, it's pretty much suicide. When that happens, he's a ticking time bomb and will only be able to use portals for others to use and that's it. Won't be long before he's gone, he'll have enough time for a final conversation, his last words. Even to the point of entering the consciousness of others for a short while.

Organization XIII, go back on them and they'll destroy you --- It's true, going back on them means becoming a target. Axel is careful to keep under their radar and follow orders from them to keep on their good side. Imagine what would happen if Axel blatantly became a traitor? Yes, he will take his stand one day...that's inevitable...but at the same time he'll make an enemy out of them. So for now, he's gotta do what he's told and be underhanded all at the same time. Whenever he does leave them, he could say good bye to the perks of being on their side.

History....

After inducting Roxas into the Organization, Xemnas places him under Axel's tutelage. Initially, Axel was unsure how to treat Roxas, as he acted like a "zombie." Over time however the Nobodies begin to bond, eating sea-salt ice cream together at the Twilight Town Train Station after missions. As their friendship grows strong, Axel began to demonstrate emotions due to his time with Roxas. Axel is also present when Xion joins the Organization, but is sent to Castle Oblivion to deal with the traitorous Marluxia and Larxene as they intended to use Sora's powers to usurp Xemnas with Naminé's ability to alter Sora's memories. Having received these orders through Saïx, the second-in-command to Xemnas, it would appear that Axel also planned to eliminate one other member who could stop their plans to overthrow the Organization: Zexion who learned of Marluxia's scheme alongside Vexen and Lexaeus, the three devising their own counter with Riku.

In Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, Axel allies himself to Marluxia and Larxene to weasel into their ranks and being the first member of the Organization to reveal himself to Sora. Upon throwing the first battle with Sora, giving him a card to progress further, Axel admits to testing the Keyblade master's strength. After leaving Sora bewildered, Axel holds a serious conversation with Larxene in which he professes an interest in the fact that Sora retains his self-consciousness even after becoming a Heartless. After Vexen nearly reveals the existence of Roxas to Sora, Axel is ordered by Marluxia to dispose of him. Axel does so effortlessly, and is at last accepted by Marluxia and Larxene into their conspiracy.

Using this to his advantage, Axel allowed Naminé to escape and contact Sora. No sooner did Naminé, Axel pondered the chaos to ensure before realizing that he was laughing to his amazement. He later confronted Marluxia, allowing him to figure out that he acted as a double agent during their entire time in the castle. Citing his previous order to rid the Organization of traitors, Axel readied to attack Marluxia, even after Marluxia used Naminé as a shield, but was interrupted by Sora, whom he eventually fought for the last time. At the end of the battle, Axel pretends to be defeated and confuses Sora with the words "It was worth saving you after all," and vanishes.

After his battle with Sora, Axel meets with Zexion in the castle basement. Zexion brought up the subject of Riku of being of no use with Marluxia and requested the Destiny Islands memory card to depose of him. Despite their previous collaboration, Axel later offers Riku Replica the honor of eliminating Zexion, promising the duplicate that he would gain new powers and be able to defeat the real Riku.

The exact reason for Axel's betrayal is not stated, and seems self-contradictory. Axel comments that it would be more interesting to see Sora and Riku's future than to save Zexion; however, this may have had something to do with Axel's friendship with Roxas, which could have been the reason why he effortlessly destroyed Vexen—to prevent either Sora or Roxas from meeting. In Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, Axel states the reason for his betrayal of Zexion, saying: "You just found out way too much." This seems to be quite ambiguous, as in Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories Axel and Zexion were shown to be friendly with each other (e.g. in one scene it was shown that Zexion and Axel were making bets on which Organization members in the Castle would be the next to die, something that Axel wins when he accurately predicts that Marluxia will be the next to fall), however this could mean Zexion found out about Saïx and Axel's plan to take over the Organization, which is supported in the Secret Report made by Zexion which he stated he had growing suspicions about Axel and Saïx.

When Axel returns to The World That Never Was, he feels that Roxas has replaced him with Xion. Axel becomes jealous, not sure exactly what to make of Xion. At Roxas's suggestion, the three begin to spend time together as a trio. Some time later, Axel finds himself before Saïx, and reveals that he regrets not being able to talk with Saïx as he could with Roxas and Xion. Saïx reminds Axel of the friendship they shared before becoming Nobodies, and the plans they had to take over the Organization.

Still, he plans on taking over the Organization and when an assignment to investigate a new world arose Axel didn't complain one bit. In fact, Axel saw it as an opportunity to find new ways for accomplishing his goal. Though he would still pretend to be on the side of Organization XIII, Axel has no qualms on getting his motives through just as before. So now it's time for him to explore this whole new world and see if he can succeed with not only taking over the Organization, but his own vague motives as well.
