Again, don't think too much about why or how Inferno got to Sunnydale- heh, that was a corny name if he ever heard one. So on one of his impulsive visits to places unknown, Inferno spent the day visiting the sights. Not a whole lot in his professional honest opinion. A small and boring little town... but there was something strangely appealing about it. Inferno otherwise hated the place, but there was SOMETHING in the air that seemed to make him wanna stay longer. So, he did. He was on his best behavior, first time in a year now NOT counting the hundreds of times he behaved so as not to freak out a girl he was trying to get in bed with.
At any rate, he was now hitting the clubs to see if this town had a darker side. He was going to get his wish and how. An average nightclub with mostly average people as far as Inferno was concerned. He was the only thing not normal to a casual observer but none of this mattered to the super powered brute as he started hitting on a girl he liked. There was probably something alittle off about her, but Inferno being as dense as he was wasn't really paying that much attention. He also didn't notice that he was being watched...

So this was The Hellmouth.
It still didn't make much sense, how an entire community of human beings could live in one of the most supernaturally inclined places in the world and not notice a thing. Ruby had been in town for two days, and there'd already been a death - one which, despite the victims near-bloodless state and the piercings in its neck, had been chalked up to 'gang violence'. Seriously, it was a wonder these people remembered how to breathe with the amount of stupidity and obliviousness they displayed in their every day life. Still, it wasn't like she was complaining. What with the constant bizarre happenings of the town, she looked downright normal in comparison - the humans didn't pay attention to her because there were stranger things to pay attention to, and because of their blatant refusal to believe in anything supernatural even when it was right under their noses - and the demons didn't pay much attention to her because demons were just so damn common around here (and strangely enough, these ones seemed oddly oblivious to the recent happenings in hell - most of them didn't even seem to know her). It suited Ruby just fine, and made it a lot easier to get things done without having to worry about hunters or exposure or...the Winchesters, in particular. How they still hadn't managed to catch wind of this place and come charging in to 'fix the problem' was beyond her, but they hadn't yet. And that was the important thing.
...Although she had heard tell of some kind of 'super-hunter' - a Slayer, as those who feared her commonly referred to her. Ruby still wasn't really sure where humans were getting all these superpowers from, or how Azazel had missed them when he'd run his little scheme, but she did know one thing: it could very easily become a problem. This Slayer in particular, Buffy Summers, had apparently stopped quite a few apocalypses in her time, which, in Ruby's book, was enough reason to label her a potential threat. It was why she'd come to Sunnydale in the first place; to dig up all she could about the Slayer and figure out what to do with her. New York would be fine in her absence, at least for a little while - she'd already gotten some trouble started there, and as long as Jax continued down along the darkened, rage-filled path he was headed on, she suspected that the Big Apple would soon be too overcome with chaos for its residents to worry much about Lucifer's rumored return.
She couldn't help the sight, smug smirk that crossed her features at the thought as she casually gazed around the club from her seat at the bar. Just looking around, the demoness could easily spot four or five vampires mingling with the unsuspecting human crowd. Ruby wasn't a demon who killed for fun, unlike some of her kind, but she could see how it might be tempting - these people just made it so easy. She scanned the crowd for a moment longer, her dark gaze finally resting on one female vampire who seemed to be engaged in conversation with...a very large human man. Ruby blinked several times. The guy had to be at least eight feet tall, and judging from his well-built stature...Ruby wasn't even sure why the vampire wanted to mess with him, superstrength or not. Still...just like everyone else in this town, he seemed entirely clueless as to who he was conversing with, and Ruby had to roll her eyes. She already knew how this was going to play out - either the female vampire would manage to catch him by surprise (one bite was really all it took), or he'd smash her to a pulp and cause a huge scene doing it. He didn't exactly seem like the subtle type.
Normally, Ruby wouldn't have really cared, but the last thing she needed was the police getting involved in any of this. ..That, and she kind of wanted to know a little more about this guy before tossing him to the bloodsuckers to play with. Because seriously...what was his deal? Her mind made up, the demoness got up out of her seat and quietly slunk over to the pair, casting the vampire a quick smirk from behind the man before focusing her attention on him. "Hey," she greeted, tossing back her dark hair and giving the man the charming smile she'd practiced on far too many human males before. "Sorry to interrupt, but can we talk for a sec?" She motioned to the door that led outside, inwardly wincing a little, because really...this good deed stuff. Did it ever get less sickening?

Could a vampire's fangs even penetrate his thick hide? Would hide even be the right word? Anyway, whether or not Inferno's thick skin could withstand the bite of a vampire he couldn't care at this moment in time. He was currently going on about one of his various escapades. "So after I lit the fire station on fire, people start freaking out. People ran screaming, cars went swerving to avoid me- not all of em got away after I grabbed onto em and threw em into the flames," Inferno went on, pausing to down the rest of the vodka he had been drinking. It was like his sixth now.
"And after that the cops showed up, naturally. Fired on sight but that stopped working on me years ago- I was just killing time until the real deals showed up," Inferno continued before Ruby cut in. Easy way for you to get your face rearranged... but since Ruby was a girl she would be perfectly safe.
"Why hello there," Inferno said with a big cheesy grin. His wasn't faked. Inferno followed her gesture toward the door and glanced back at his current companion who he did notice was glaring at Ruby. Not in the "you're rude for interrupting" or something like that, it was more like the look of a predator staring down a scavenger.
"Don't go, you never got to finish that exciting story you were telling me," the vampiress said switching gears instantly. She was of course being sarcastic, she just wanted to get him alone long enough.
Inferno was of course oblivious to the sarcasm. But that didn't change the fact that he was considering this new girl's request. It was about this time that some of the other vampires lurking about began to lurk closer to the group. "How about I buy you more vodka?" she added trying to entice Inferno. How he wasn't drunk by now was a mystery to her.
"Another vodka does sound good..." Inferno commented glancing at his own bottle and noticing one of the vampires approaching. This was followed by a very bad vibe that could have been instinct or just a sudden impulse to punch faces in. Whatever possessed him to do what he did next, Inferno suddenly flung his empty bottle at the closest vampire who was hit square in the middle of the forehead and sent wheeling backward until he tripped and fell backward onto a nearby table.
Shit just hit the fan.

Ruby stiffened a little at the female vampire's words, narrowing her eyes at the bloodsucker in disdain and wondering how it was actually possible that the human was falling for this crap. Whatever - she could rebuke him for it later, right now the vampiress had most of her attention. Their kind didn't exactly mix well with hers on a good day, and now...well, if this bloodsucking parasite thought she could go right ahead and do as she pleased when a demon was sending her every signal to back off, she had another thing coming. But even as the tension rose, neither of them got much of a chance to act on it - sensing trouble, several more vampires were approaching the scene. Damn it. And the point of coming here had been not to attract attention. Thoroughly irritated now, Ruby turned towards the nearest approaching vampire...only to witness the red-haired man...slam the bloodsucker in the fact with an empty vodka bottle...
Okay. First of all. What? Well, at least this man wasn't oblivious to everything around him, but hell - the vampire had gone flying. Definitely not a blow that a normal human could have dealt, even one of this man's size. That was an observation that could wait for later, though - these 'superhumans' were becoming less and less surprising the more Ruby encountered him, and right now she had more pressing matters to think about. Like the fact that this man had just impulsively started an all-out brawl with a gang of vampires - and, as her luck would have it, the demoness found herself right in the middle of it. Ruby let out a sigh through gritted teeth. She really, really hated these kind of nights - and she could pretty much forget about staying in Sunnydale unnoticed after all of this was over.
At the first sign of a fight, the others in the bar - that was, the humans that were too stupid to realize that the place was packed with bloodsuckers - seemed immediately interested. Run, idiots. Ruby thought in frustration, but she couldn't be held responsible if their survival instincts weren't kicking in. She wasn't here to play the 'save the civilians' game, after all. She just hoped that none of them were stupid enough to try to jump in on this. Most of the vampires closing in now had their attention focused on the human man, paying little attention to the demon who just happened to be on the scene as well. But predictably, the woman - the one who'd been trying to ensnare the human before Ruby had stepped in, had her own score to settle - and lunged straight for the demoness in a blur of inhuman speed as soon as the fighting broke out.
Ruby knew better than to just stand their and try to take the blow - her strength and a vampire's were probably pretty equally matched, but this particular vampire had the advantage of momentum. Just as quickly she sidestepped the charge, but the vampire changed direction with her and caught her by the wrist - sending her crashing back painfully against the bar. Instead of lunging forward in a counter attack, however, Ruby remained where she was - teeth gritted, hand sliding instinctively to her side. The next time the vampiress attempted to spring at her, she found herself met with the edge of a very particular, very long blade.
As she had so many times before, Ruby watched the emotions flit across the monster's expression - first surprise, then a smug smirk - for what match was a knife against a vampire? - and then, finally, the stunned realization that something was very, very wrong. As Ruby twisted the knife further into the woman's side, the vampire's fanged mouth opened in a silent screech of rage - and then dissolved into ash.
And that's when people started running.
Twirling the monster-slaying knife in her hand (she got the feeling it wasn't safe to put it away just yet), Ruby turned to see how the human man was fairing. "By the way, great idea, starting a bar fight with a gang of bloodsuckers." she shot at him quickly.

After recovering from their... shock? The other vampires went after Inferno with more speed he gave them credit for. Or rather, Inferno had no idea they were vampires and so was just assuming they wouldn't swarm him quite as fast as they did. One managed to get a hit on Inferno, only succeeding in knocking his head back just before Inferno grabbed him by the face and lifted him up. Then there was fire which reduced the vampire into a pile of ash. "Ow... that actually hurt alittle," Inferno commented with an evil grin. Yeah, it was totally obvious that Inferno was no normal human now.
"Vamps are real? Cool, now I can cross 'get in a brawl with the undead' off my list," Inferno replied to Ruby before a couple vampires tried going at him at the same time. This didn't prove any more effective, as Inferno simply clotheslined them both, using their own momentum against them as they smashed into the floor. Another one attacked Inferno from the back with a chair, who was promptly back kicked straight through a wall. "Who's next?" Inferno challenged, fire billowing out around his hands. After that little display, the remaining vampires were now starting to have second thoughts about this entire thing...
Several tried this time, two being sent flying with one swipe of Inferno's arm, another one having his face literally explode when it came into contact with one of Inferno's fist. One latched onto his back and was about to bite his neck when Inferno's body suddenly ignited and torched him. "That all you got? I haven't even broken a sweat yet you damned ankle biters!" Inferno laughed, either high off the adrenaline rush or just enjoying this fight waaaay too much. In either case, the few vampires left were one hundred percent sure they didn't want any more part of this and started backing off.
