A gentle breeze blew across a high hilltop covered in dandelions, scattering their seeds throughout the world. At the most northern tip of Norway, this hill overlooked a small village down below. The sun was just about to set, hanging low in the sky, and the was a figure napping near the hill's steep incline that faced the village. At first glance, it looked to be a large, black boulder of sorts. However, upon closer inspection, one would note that it was actually breathing. Up and town its top side went, helping to further scatter the seeds of dandelion weeds. After noticing that the thing was breathing, and therefore inanimate, one might also begin to take in other details; the long sweep of a tail as it curled around the creature, and a bold curve of wings upon its back.
Without warning, the thing grumbled, rolling over onto its other side and raising its triangular head. Large, teal-green eyes opened and searched the sky before lowering to narrow at the small forest behind him. Toothless the dragon and his companion, Friend-Hiccup-Rider, had arrived in this strange world through unexpected means. One minute, they had been flying through a thick fog; and the next moment, they were cutting through a village, spooking several Strange-Not-Viking-Humans along the way. Toothless had managed to settle down upon this hill to rest while Friend-Hiccup-Rider left to investigate. Judging purely from his internal clock, the dragon surmised that his human had been gone for a couple hours, at the very least.
He'd been napping on and off throughout that time, until now. He could've sworn he's heard something. Ear flaps twitching back and forth, Toothless listened intently to see if whatever it was sounded again; also taking note of a flock of birds fleeing the scene and breathing deeply of the breeze that greeted him once more...
