"How much longer?" Bart questioned the taxi driver, for the twenty-second time. The only response was the sound of the car's horn of which the man headdesked, which was very convenient, as it covered up the sound of the driver's unprintable profanities.
_________________________________________________________
Twenty minutes later, Impulse had launched himself into a deep explanation about a fight in one of his video games."And then I'd be like, Robin Karate Chop! And good night, loser!" He concluded, karate chopping the back of the driver's seat. Again, the driver didn't say anything. He only pulled more hair out of his rapidly balding head.
_________________________________________________________
"And that's why Hanson bites!" Bart replied in a huff, hoping he came even remotely close to describing just how terrible Hanson truly was. The driver started cackling. Then the cackle went into full maniacal laugh. As if some evil, wicked beast possessed by a demon from the deepest pits of hell, the driver put in a Hanson CD, causing Bart's mop of hair to stand on end.
"No...NO...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Bart screamed, and the driver laughed, pulling out of the traffic jam.
_________________________________________________________
"MAKE IT STOP! MAKE IT STOP! MAKE IT STOP!" Bart plead, begging his musical captor to release him from his harmonized prison. Bart glared at the malicious driver, imagining thousands of anvils dropping on his head, birds dressed as Robin circling around his bald head. Finally, the car pulled up to Wally's house. The youngster scrambled out of the car, and the taxi dashed out of site, blaring the so called music. "Wait! You forgot... my money." Bart put the money back into his pocket. He turned toward house, Hanson still ringing in his ears. He walked toward the building, and knocked on the door. No answer. Wally and family must be out. Bart looked around, making sure no one was around. Satisfied, he vibrated through the door. As anyone could expect, his first stop was the fridge.

"That's the rat poison again, dad." Tim's feet were propped up on the table as he said his usual morning greeting to his father, who was blind, deaf, and dumb upon waking up in the morning. Every morning. He no longer needed to look up from his newspaper. "Hey you know that burning building the other day?" He asked as he heard his dad replace the rat poison and pull out the Dish soap.
"mm."
"that's Dish soap. But did you know that the same company has had building going down all over the country?" Tim was thinking about the other day when he had been caught off guard by two meta-humans who were responsible for the building's destruction. It had been eating at him more and more, and he was looking for a new building coming up some where, or some other tell-tale signs of another encounter with those meta-humans. However, he had begun thinking that on perhaps even with the few meta-humans that had been there, it may be a larger operation than just a few hoodlums sabotaging a company. It would be a bigger job than just he could handle, especially dealing with Super humans.
"some companies just don't know how to hire reliable personnel." His father replied, and Tim had a feeling that he was talking both about Tim's problem, and about his own. Tim had already laid the Want Ads out for Jack, and peered over his newspaper to make sure his father had at last found the cereal.
Tim decided that a reply wasn't necessary and returned in his mind to his own problem Wally West lived in the area of Keystone, and Tim thought off-handedly that if he couldn't find Batman, maybe Wally could help him get some JLA information about this company and possibly even on the group that was organizing the attacks. Tim hadn't been able to dig up anything. Maybe he could even enlist their Aid in this. Something so obvious could not have escaped their notice.
"I'm going out." Tim announced, folding the newspaper and setting it down, he got up to leave.
"Don't do anything too dangerous." His father said off-handedly. To any other teenager, it wouldn't have meant anything. To any other teenager it was an necessary and completely oblige-able request.
Shades covering his eyes, and his Robin costume underneath his slacks and hoodie, Robin paced down the street toward the Flash's residence. The sun was high in the sky by this time, and he was wondering, if Batman was out doing something, what was The Flash doing? he hopped Wally would be there to help him out.
He approached the door and knocked a few times, running through his head the things he might say, and the order he would place his questions in.

Bart sat on the couch, a plate in food in his hands. He put his feet on the coffee table, and turned on the TV, using his own body as a table for the food. Like always, there was nothing on. Before he even started eating, there was a knock at the door.
Eager for something fun to happen, he moved the food to the coffee table and ran to the door. He opened the door, half expecting the pizza man he had called. Instead, it was Tim Drake. Bart's face lit up. "Tim!" Bart hugged Tim, quicker than a hiccup. "I haven't seen you in forever! Come in! Come in!" Bart pushed Tim into house and shut the door. He ran over to a chair on the other side of the room. "So, what's up?"

Tim was surprised, and slightly excited, to see Bart again. It'd been a long time since the two had been in contact with one another, and Tim was both excited, and a little unsure of what to say. Before anything could be said the fast-moving, fast-thinking boy took Tim in his arms and hugged him tightly. The force of the glomp knocked Tim's Glasses off of his face.
Once inside the house, Tim looked around for Wally West, the man he'd come to see. "Not much, Bart. Just fighting fires and saving damsels in distress. You know, the usual." He looked both ways, as if someone who didn't know who he was was going to see him, and slipped a hand into his pocket, withdrawing a second pair of Sunglasses to put over his eyes. "What have you been up to? Just visiting your uncle? Oh, and how's Max?"
Tim followed Bart into the living room and took a seat on the couch, realize Bart had left his food on the table. He must have really missed him to allow Tim to distract him from his food.

Bart leaned forward as Tim sat on the couch, chuckling at Tim's answer. The Boy Wonder threw a couple of question at him, making small talk. "Yep, visiting my cousin Wally, but I had the worst taxi ride ever getting here! We got stuck in traffic and the driver made me listen to Hanson! That dude was weird, too! He kept pulling his hair out whenever I talked to him, and he took off without taking my money! So I ordered pizza." Bart spoke quickly, but anyone who knew him could easily keep up. The speedster slouched across the chair, leg raped over the side and eyes toward the ceiling. "And Max is doing good, although he was the one who suggested I come here. Oh, yeah!" Bart looked over toward Tim again, slightly adjusting his position. "I saw you on the news the other day! Part of that flaming building thing. Uncle Max thinks there's something up with it, but he was being kinda boring, so I tuned him out."

Tim listened intently as the boy spoke in his natural tongue-- fasterthanyoucanunderstand-anese. He'd known Bart long enough to reconstruct his words after he'd said them, into something half-way intelligible. He smiled and nodded after Bart's story, feeling a bit of sympathy for the man who'd been annoyed by Bart's banter, and a little impressed by his ability to score a counterattack by playing Hanson. He said non of this of course, and chose to speak after Impie said something about the building fire.
"Awesome. Tell Max hi for me. As far as The fire is concerned...that's actually why I came. I was wondering if Wally could help me get some info from the JLA. Where is Wally, anyway?" He looked around again, as though Wally were quietly sneaking up behind him. Wally wouldn't do that, though. He wondered fleetingly where everybody was. Batman, wally, who else was out of town right now?

Bart gave a pouting huff at Tim's response. "That wasn't awesome! It was Hanson! We really need to work on your tastes in music. Anyway, I'm not sure where Wally is. I knocked on the door, and no body answered. Betcha glad Uncle Max sent me up here now, huh? I could look for him for you, if you want. Be back before you could even blink. What's so important about...
The door bell rang. "Pizza! Bart ran to the door with an audible Zwip!, and he opened the door to the pizza man. He took the pizzas and put them on the coffee table. He paid the guy, and shut the door. Food back on his mind, the speedster grabbed his plate and a few slices of the pizza and began to eat in front of the pizza, placing him on the couch next to Tim. "So what's important about the fires, anyway?" Bart asked, a large helping of food in his mouth.

Tim nearly laughed at Impulse's sudden pizza rush. He had missed the teen's very endearing pet-like quirks. He thought fleetingly when the boy would begin to mature more, but there was no rush, no reason why he couldn't live that, way, Robin supposed. It wasn't hurting anything...yet. Tim smiled, feeling comfortable with Impulse. It'd been a long time since he could really relax, and being with one of his closest friends was easing his mind a little bit.
"I think there's more to it than arson, Imps. I'm sure by now you've stopped paying attention to my story, but I think there maybe some organized group attacking the Really Useful Company. I thought the JLA might have information that could help me. I failed to...apprehend the suspects of the last fire." He didn't like admitting his defeat. It was annoying enough kept quiet, out in the open it could swarm around his head. So embarrassing. "Yeah, Bart, why not go look for wally for me?"

Bart huffed again, unsatisfied that Tim refused to agree about how terrible the Taxi ride was. However, Tim's speculation at the fires was enough of a distraction to pull him out of it. "Well, if you think that it's more than arson, it's probably more than arson," Bart shrugged, "Also, don't get down on yourself. One of the first things Uncle Max taught me was 'Sometimes the bad guys get away," Bart said, imitating the voice of Max Mercury. "At least you can't outrun cars. What's my excuse?" Bart mumbled, in a rare showing of regret.
Bart perked up immediately. "You want Wally, I'll give you a Wally. Have as much pizza as you want, while I'm gone," Bart said with a friendly smirk.
_________________________________________________________
Before Tim could blink, Bart was back on the couch, now in his Impulse costume. He moved his goggles to the top of his head, pushing his hair back."Sorry. I checked all of Keystone and Central City. Wally's no where to be found. I did find Jay and The Spirit, if you're interested. You know, I'm amazing, but not even I can run to the moon. They're probably at the watchtower, getting the exact info you're looking for."
Bart snapped his fingers. "You know what you need? Pizza."

Tim was a little nostalgic when he saw Bart in his Impulse out fit. It made him remember the Young Justice. So then, Wally was nowhere to be found either. Bart had a good point, perhaps they were attempting to discover the origins of the problem just as he was. The thing with the JLA was, though, is that they did too much looking and not enough doing of late. He looked at impie, as he snapped his fingers.
A small smile played across his face again. "You may be right, Impulse" Tim nodded "Pizza might be just what I need." Time reached for a piece of pizza; he'd been eating too little recently as it was.
This reminded Tim of Young Justice and the good times they had, as well as the good they did for people. When They had consumed all the pizza there was to consume, Tim leaned forward and brought his hands together in his 'thinking stance' "How would you like to help me out, Bart? it could be just like old times" He muffled a Burp and thought to himself about who and where he could collect other teens to battle the organization he knew nothing about. Would he look for Superboy? Cassie or Cissie? He played around with reforming the Young Justice in his mind.

Bart gave a big smile. The fastest teenage alive had been bored out of his mind since the team separated. That was part of why he was here. That was mostly why he was up here. Maybe Wally could entertain Bart some, and cool him down. He had been good at that since the beginning of their relationship. Right now, he was given that chance.
"Old times? Like pizza for dinner and chasing bad guys and making S Boy feel like a doofus? Yeah, I could go for that. Beats sitting around waiting for a missing cousin."
Bart stretched out on his part of the couch, content on the current plan. As long as he had his buddies, who cared who or what they fought?

Tim Stood up and popped his knuckles, stretched his arms over his head. "Awesome. Now we should head to Smallville to snag SB, don't you think? And then to Elias for Cas and Cissie." The momentary vacation had been fun, but he felt that it was time to get to business. He unzipped his hoodie and dropped his slacks, revealing his Robin costume, and looked toward the door.
All of a sudden it was time to re-unite the team, under whatever pretenses he decided to use. He started walking towards the door, but stopped. "Hey Bart, Throw all this stuff away real quick. You'll get it done faster than I would, and we wouldn't want to clutter up the house of someone who isn't even here."
Once outside he looked up at the sky, pondering. there were only a few clouds, and it was about mid-afternoon. They could probably get to Smallville by nightfall, if he could conjure them some fitting transportation...

"Smallville, then Elias. Got it. We need some girls, anyway." Impulse snatched Robin's trash out of his hands, along with the other trash, and threw it away. The speedster moved his goggles over his eyes again, completely psyched at the up coming adventure.
"Oh, give me a minute!" Faster than most people could see, a life size Impulse drawn of post its materialized on the refrigerator, the message 'You missed me!' in a word bubble. "For Wally, you know?" he told Robin, explaining the sudden art. An expression of curiosity appeared on Bart's face. "So, uh, how are we going to get there?"

Robin chuckled at the Life-size Impie picture, suddenly realizing that Impulse really did have artistic skill, and wondered if he'd be able to find vocation there if he weren't a speedster, and had the attention span to stick to a single art piece. "Nice picture, Bart." he turned back to the door. "great likeness"
He heard Impulse ask how they were going to get there, and instead of answering straight, replied "I haven't tried this in a while" He brought his fingers to his mouth and whistled with a loud Phweeeet! A few moments passed, and he was sure Impulse was chomping at the bit. Then, at the second whistle, the semi-living vehicle sped down from behind a cloud. It landed with a thunk in front of Robin and nudged him, nearly knocking him onto Impulse. "Haha yeah, I missed you too."

Impulse smiled at the compliment. "I thought so. Getting, better, don'tcha think?" In truth, he had been getting a little better. It'd be a long time before he would be making police sketches, but hey, Domino's Pizza wasn't built in a day.
Fast forwarding, Robin made a comment and whistled. Nothing happened for a whole minute! In Bart time, that was a very long time. Wally's cousin started to whistle, trying to distract himself from the long wait. Robin tried it again. This time, a vehicle fell from the sky. Impulse walked around the vehicle, examining it. "You know what? Superboy got top billing with this thing last time. But this is a whole new group, so it needs a new name! I rechristen you as..." Bart stopped for dramatic effect, "The BArTMOBILE!"
