Basic Details
Age: 31
Species: Human
Physical Appearance:
Amy most definitely has the build of a model - standing at roughly 5'10, she is slender, leggy, and undeniably attractive. Right off the bat, her most distinctive feature - and probably the one she's most proud of - is her hair. An eye-catching deep auburn in color in sharp contrast to the paleness of her skin, it kind of makes her one of those people you look at and go "how could you possibly be more Scottish". Her hair is long, falling down her back in glossy waves - she's a bit vain about it, to be honest, and has been known to style it even when they're about to rush off on some dangerous, high-speed adventure. In fact, many aspects of the way Amy typically presents herself during her travels with the Doctor might strike some as a bit...impractical? She's kind of the type that puts fashion before comfort, which more often than not results in her ending up running from some monster or another in high heeled boots and a mini skirt clearly meant to show off her legs, but hey. When you're representing all of humanity to lifeforms on another planet, you'd better dress to kill - right?
Personality:
To say the least, Amy is not a person who is easily deterred. When she becomes invested in something, there is very little that can sway or distract her. As a child, this quality manifested in her being something of a dreamer, someone who believed anything was possible and that men in blue boxes could fall from the sky and offer to whisk her away to see the universe. Over time, however, she became rather disenchanted with the 'fairytales' she used to believe in, and grew significantly more cynical in the Doctor's absence. Even today, however, her faith - once it is placed in someone or something - is not easily shaken, and her stubbornness is a force to be reckoned with.
She can be rather reckless at times - make no mistake, courage is a trait that's absolutely necessary in her...line of work, but sometimes it seems as though she has a bit too much of it. In her earlier days of traveling as a companion, Amy nearly seemed to think herself invincible, but...well, let's just say she's long since learned that this is not the case. While she's no longer quite so quick to be so dismissive of major threats, she is still most certainly impulsive. She's always been quick to assume that her way of doing things is the best way of doing them, and while sometimes this works out in her favor - take when she managed to save that star whale when the Doctor deemed it impossible, for instance - sometimes she's not quite so lucky, and needs someone to figuratively (and occasionally, literally) hold her back. Her feisty, fierce nature can make her a bit difficult at times, but her whole-hearted loyalty and natural sense of compassion makes up for it.
Compassion that's...typically buried beneath sharp wit and a seemingly unlimited supply of sarcastic retorts, but what can you do? Amy's friendly enough, with flirtatious tendencies and a good sense of humor, but she can be quick to judge - she decides what she thinks of people very soon after meeting them, and usually sticks with that opinion - and if it's not a good one, she has no problem letting you know. As a companion she's developed an instinctive desire to help people, although at times she can be a little ruthless. She's less like the Doctor than she'd have people believe - for instance, when left alone with the woman who took her daughter from her, and challenged with the statement that she'd allow the woman to live because it was what the Doctor would want, Amy remarked that the Doctor wasn't there and proceeded to kill the woman in cold blood.
So needless to say, she has a temper - though it's usually not quite as extreme as when her mama bear instincts are provoked. Even so, anyone who knows this gal well knows to stay well out of her way when she's in a mood. She can be somewhat difficult when she's angry, often far too stubborn to consider forgiveness even when she should...though if she cares about the person in question enough, she'll eventually come around if the alternative is losing them forever.
Though generally a vivacious and outgoing person, Amy is somewhat troubled. The loneliness of waiting for the Doctor for so long has never really completely faded, though she's surrounded by plenty of people now. Her childhood was far from a normal one - just ask her about the crack in her bedroom wall. Or...don't, because the details are complicated, and you'll probably just end up giving her a headache. Being alone continues to be a major fear of hers, however. As far as picturing the rest of her life, that's one thing she knows she doesn't want. Everything else, she's a little more conflicted about. Once upon a time, Amy wouldn't have given up traveling with the Doctor for the world...but it's been about ten years for her since she's started, and that's enough time for a lot to change. The wonders of the universe have lost some of their charm, to be replaced with just a touch of weariness and bitterness and sadness. In all honesty, the things she's seen and been through have aged her - along with Rory and Eleven, even - quite a bit, and she's realized now that nothing can last forever. A part of her really does just want to give in and have a quiet life with Rory, to grow old with him and never have to fear unimaginable danger again. That sort of life has never really worked out for them, though - and beyond that, there's a part of her that can't let go of the Doctor and the life she had with him as well. It's difficult to say, at this point, how things are going to work out for her. Whatever decision she makes, though, it isn't going to be easy.
