The Slender Man
The Operator
The Operator
Basic Details
Age: As old as, possibly older than, time itself.
Species: Unknown, believed to be some sort of malevolent Eldritch being
Personality: The Slender Man cannot be understood or known fully. Those who have attempted to uncover the secrets of the Slender Man have either been lost and never seen again or went mad and were shipped off to a madhouse, usually babbling about the creature that caused their insanity. Despite it's mysterious nature, there are a few known things about his behavior that cannot be ignored when discussing this terrible abomination's personality.
Many would argue that the Slender Man exclusively attacks children. However, this cannot be true because many people have been victims of it who were past childhood and (in some cases) well into adulthood. From what has been deciphered from the unintelligable screaming of madmen, as well as eye-witness accounts and videos of the creature, it is known that he stalks his prey constantly and seems to never allow them any rest when it's begun. Victims have seen him out of the corner of their eye or even standing out their window or in the middle of the woods as if he simply wants to toy with them.
As mentioned before, many people who learn about the Slender Man and continue to do research on him are taken away or go mad. This leads many to believe that the Slender Man does not want people knowing anything about him and is willing to forcefully remove those who learn enough about him from society. It is believed that the Slender Man has a very good grasp on humans and human society, due to his bizarrely methodical way of getting rid of humans. Everything he does seems to be for some purpose, a purpose that is completely impossible for humans to comprehend.
But the Slender Man's aversion to people knowing of him is not absolute. He's allowed so many people to draw display images from him, from the days of Neanderthals to modern day, where he's become somewhat famous on the internet. Many people post pictures and videos of him. What they don't understand is that the Slender Man wants this and openly accepts people knowing of his existence. From this it can be assumed that he enjoys the stalking and eventual end of those who look more into him and discover things that they were never meant to know.

Powers & Abilities
Eldritch Being: Being a supposed Eldritch Horror, the Slender Man's mere presence is enough to cause subtle distortions in reality to occur around him. This extends to making objects begin to distort in appearance as well as a strange buzzing noise that seems to shift between loud and soft at sudden moments. The strangest effects of this are the occasional static-like manifestations of energy that can appear for as short as a millisecond and however long the Slender Man wants. Those with weaker minds will be driven insane by looking at the Slender Man for long enough. He is also immortal and cannot die by natural means.
Slendersickness: Being nearby the Slender Man for long enough will make one begin to experience the ailment known only as "Slendersickness". Slendersickness starts out small, with small headaches and stomach pain. However, the more one is around the Slender Man the worse their Slendersickness gets. It can get to such points where people can die from their Slendersickness. It takes only a few hours of being stalked to get Slendersickness.
Fear: It is a common theory that the Slender Man is a fear-based entity. It is fact that those who are nearby the Slender Man feel an irrational fear of him, even if they normally would not be afraid of him. This fear is not unbeatable, nor is it omni-present. Many a time have people spotted the Slender Man and not felt the irrational fear that so many have claimed to experience. It should also be said that many believe that the Slender Man feeds off of the fear of others and becomes more powerful from it...
Mind Control: The connection between the Slender Man and the human mind is a strong one. There are three ways the Slender Man is able to "mind control" someone:
- Brainwashing: Not a literal form of control, but it should be mentioned. This is when the Slender Man manipulates someone into coming to his side/serving him. This is how the Slender Man has gained multiple cults worshipping him. It is also a means of kidnapping people, especially children. He manipulates the child's mind and makes them believe that he is to be trust. Then, they follow him to their demise.
- Slenderproxies: The odd minions known as 'Slenderproxies' are under a bizarre form of mind control in which the Slender Man controls only their thoughts, but not their actions. There is a small portion of free will here, though he has altered the minds of these proxies to want to do his will. The proxies are many in number, though there are a few notable proxies who may or may not be the Slender Man's lieutenants.
- Complete Control: This is when the Slender Man assumes complete control over another's body, making them his puppet. He uses this to gain information, communicate with people and trick people into believing that he is not there when he actually is. However, this form of control is very rarely used...
Shape-shifting: The Slender Man's ability to change his shape is... strange. It is readily apparent that he cannot look like anything else other than his basic appearance, but he seems to be able to alter that in strange ways. For instance, making himself taller or making his limbs longer than usual. There is an almost endless amount of things he can alter to make himself look subtly different.
Sound: The Slender Man appears to be able to generate any sort of sound he wants. For instance, he can create a loud screeching noise or a child's giggle. He can indeed use this ability to communicate with people and when he does, his voice is... unearthly. It can be described as calm, yet unsettling.
Slenderwalking: The Slender Man is able to be in any point he wishes to occupy, whether it be in another point in time or another dimension entirely. This seems to be a teleportation ability, though it expands to teleporting anywhere on this plane of existence or time period to teleporting wherever he needs or wants to be, no matter how impossible it seems.
Tendrils: The Slender Man is able to sprout multiple tendrils from his back, which are used for grabbing things and even, when necessary, combat. They are shown to be inhumanly strong, enough so that they can effortlessly lift a human into the air. It is believed that there is no limit to the strength of the tentacles, though nobody is quite sure. The Slender Man is able to turn his arms and legs into tendrils as well. He has been spotted using these tendrils to move around.
Selective Visibility: If the Slender Man wants someone to see it but nobody else, he is able to make that happen. The Slender man is able to make it so that he is invisible only to certain people. The scope of this is unknown, though most believe it to be limitless. When the Slender Man is "invisible" it is as though he does not exist to those he's invisible too. He lets off not heat signatures or anything that would allow him to be detected.
Fire: The Slender Man has always had a connection to fire. It is said that he has limitless control over it. In fact, many people have reported to seeing the Slender Man while they were escaping their burning home...
Belief: Those who believe in the Slender Man are often the ones who are taken away by him. Much like fear, many people believe that the Slender Man feeds off of belief and that it makes him stronger. This is entirely true. The Slender Man will be more powerful against those who believe in him.
Superstrength: The Slender Man's strength cannot be calculated because nobody has ever seen the limit. He's been spotted uprooting trees with ease and lifting cars if he needs to. His strength alone makes him a formidable foe against almost anyone, if he were ever to get into a fight with someone. If someone were to fight him... well, the Slender Man finds it more than easy to simply pick someone and smack them against the ground enough times to get rid of them quickly.
Telekinesis: Moving objects with his mind is a common ability for the Slender Man to use while stalking someone. More often than not he'll use this to shut doors on people, make things block their way and other things that are good for him getting closer. The extent of his telekinesis is unknown.
Invulnerable: Finally, nobody has found a way to physically hurt Slendy, at least not a way that can be easily harnessed and used against him. Melee weapons seem to do nothing, as do ranged weapons. Nothing has really managed to damage him, at least not in any substantial way...

Weaknesses
Psychological Flaws...
"Didn't anyone tell you not to play with your food...?": If you haven't noticed, the Slender Man likes to toy with his prey before going in for the final kill. This gives people time to find some way to defeat him, though nobody has done so before. Still, his stalking gives people a chance to look into ways to destroy him.
Physical Flaws...
Lightning: Lightning and electricity always seem to have an adverse effect on the Slender Man. Whenever he is hit by some sort of electric blast, he has a bizarre seizure of sort... but it wears off seconds after and he resumes stalking.
Religious Items: Items like crosses and the like will repel the Slender Man and make him unable to go close to someone. He cannot walk across Holy Ground. Touching a cross will make him feel pain, but it doesn't seem to be able to kill him.
Other Flaws...
Belief: The Slender Man is less powerful to those who don't believe in him or doubt his existence. This is probably why he likes people knowing of him but not much about him. The people who doubt him are also the ones he goes after, only because their disbelief could make him fade from existence.
Operator Symbol: The Operator Symbol is a circle with an X drawn through it. When confronted with the symbol, the Slender Man is visibly repulsed. When he touches it, he freaks out and leaves.
Human Mask: If one were to somehow get a human-like mask onto the Slender Man, he has a sort of breakdown and flees. This is probably because he has no understanding of the human face...
High Ground: If someone were able to make themselves above the Slender Man, he appears to become confused because he is not used to people being taller than him. However, he is able to stretch his body out, so this does not always work...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
History....
The Slender Man's history, like most things about him, is shrouded in mystery. Many theorize that he's been around before time even began, and it's most likely true. The only evidence of his existence is a variety of drawings that look much like him. The earliest of these is a picture of a tall man leading a child by the hand in ancient caves. Besides that, there have been many pictures that look like the Slender Man, from hieroglyphs to woodworks. It is theorized that the Slender Man has been stalking people and removing them from existence since ancient times, and it would only make sense...
The Slender Man's first sighting in modern day was a picture on the forum known as SomethingAwful. He's since gained something of a following on the internet, which is exactly what he wants. However, there are several distinct videos and stories on the internet that are real, though most belive them to be fake stories for their own enjoyment. The only problem is, all of those videos and stories about the Slender Man have been recently taken off the internet entirely, leaving people wondering just what the cause could be. The Slender Man realized that people were discovering too much from these things and deleted them...
