Doctor Stephen Strange
Sorcerer Supreme
Sorcerer Supreme
Basic Details
Age: 82, appears 43
Species: Human
Personality:
Doctor Strange's behavior would surprise anyone who knew him before turning to become Sorcerer Supreme. He was once an arrogant man who cared little for everyone. Pretty much all of that has changed since he became Sorcerer Supreme. Doctor Strange now cares for the entire world, as is the job of Sorcerer Supreme. In fact, he cares so much for the world that he's risked his life to save the world an uncountable amount of times. All of Doctor Strange's magical study has been for the goal of being able to defeat any threat that faces the world at a given time.
Doctor Strange is a gentleman to mostly everyone. He generally seems like a nice guy to most people. His intelligence and mastery of magic has made him into something of a sage. Ever helpful, Doctor Strange is willing to lend his vast knowledge and skill to anyone who asks it of him. All of his gentlemanly behavior is lost when facing off against a villain. Doctor Strange will actually mock his opponents sometimes, especially when he simply knows he'll win the battle. He has a cunning wit to go along with his high intelligence. He is a careful planner and strategist and is good at adapting to situations.
Doctor Strange is also very determined. He was willing to take on foes like Dormammu whose magical skill is almost infinitely more powerful than his own. He always thinks of the people before himself, even in situations where putting the world first would mean his death. Most of his philosophy on life comes from the teachings of the Ancient One, a man he's come to respect more than anyone else. Doctor Strange is not one you want to make enemies with, seeing as he will ensure your death or banishment if you threaten the world.

Powers & Abilities
Magic: One does not earn the title of Sorcerer Supreme without proving one's mastery of the mystic arts. The good doctor here has proven himself to the former Sorcerer Supreme, the Ancient One, and earned the title. So, it's clear that the Doctor is the most skilled user of magic in his universe. The being Eternity has stated that Doctor Strange is more powerful than any mortal from his world and the being Stranger considers Strange on the level of cosmic entities at his most powerful.
Universal Source: The world has a constant mystical energy surrounding it. Doctor Strange happens to be an expert at manipulating this energy to cast a variety of powerful spells. Some people have speculated that Doctor Strange can manipulate the universal source in an infinite number of ways. Whether or not this is true has yet to be seen. The current ways that Doctor Strange can manipulate the source are:
- Intangibility - The power to phase through walls and make oneself invisible. Due to this being a magical ability instead of say, a mutation, Doctor Strange can hold an intangible form for however long he desires without running out of air or having any stress put on his body.
- Mystic Bolts - Most commonly seen among Doctor Strange's arsenal of magical abilities is the power to fire bolts of pure magical energy. Depending on what Doctor Strange needs, the bolts' power can range from the force of a strong punch to the chest to strong enough to blast a hole through almost anything.
- Banishment - Doctor Strange has, over the years, banished many creatures to other dimensions. He mostly does this when a creature is simply too dangerous to be on a dimension where it can endanger lives. Doctor Strange can only banish those who are less powerful than him. {NOTE: This will only be done on player's charries with their permission.}
- Transmutation - Changing physical objects into different things is another power of Doctor Strange's. This can be used in near infinite ways, such as turning a sword into a swarm of bats. The only limitation is that Doctor Strange must be touching whatever it is he's transmuting. It could also be indirect contact, such as Doctor Strange's sword touching his opponents sword. If that were to happen, he could turn his opponent's sword into whatever he wants.
- Telekinesis - It is incredibly common to find Doctor Strange levitating things around himself. The ability is so common to him that he hardly even thinks about it anymore, it's practically like he has infinite sets of hands. With this power he can lift anything from a pen to a truck.
- Flight - If Doctor Strange were ever without his Cloak of Levitation, he would still be able to use his magical abilities to fly. Using magic to fly is not nearly as fast as flying with the Cloak, but it will get the job done.
- Teleportation - Rather straightforward. Doctor Strange can teleport to wherever he wants in the world without much effort.
- Protective Shields - Doctor Strange's magical shields are nigh impossible to break. Even under the Hulk's incredible strength they stayed strong and protected the good doctor. The shields will break under enough magical ability, as shown when Dormammu was able to smash through one with a particularly powerful spell.
- Time Manipulation - While it does take extreme concentration, Doctor Strange can manipulate time itself. He can freeze time completely, slow it and travel through it. Each of these powers take up quite a bit of Doctor Strange's power, which is why he tends to avoid this. For obvious reasons he is always immune whenever he freezes and slows time. Otherwise it would just be pointless.
- Dimensional Travel - Doctor Strange can pretty easily go through dimensions whenever he wants. There are no dimensions that he cannot go to. Even realms like Asgard can be accessed through this power.
- Object Conjuring - Doctor Strange can conjure up any object he desires out of thin air. This can either be summoning, where Doctor Strange takes an already existing object and brings it to his hand or he can simply create a new object out of nowhere. Both are useful for their own reasons. He cannot summon objects from other dimensions.
- Various Spells - There is a nearly infinite amount of uses this ability can be put to. For instance, he can control elements, control the weather, absorb energy, all that good stuff. But he doesn't do that sort of thing enough for it to be anything other than a part of the various ways he can use this ability.
Divine Sources: To empower his spells, Doctor Strange calls upon the power of any deity he knows of, from Odin to Hoggoth. All he needs to do is shout an incantation {such as "Crimson Bands of Cyttorak!"} and it will cast the spell Doctor Strange wishes to cast. The general sources he calls upon are the Vishanti {Hoggoth, Osthur and Agamatto} and the Octessence {Balthakk, Cyttorak, Farallah, Ikonn, Krakkan, Raggadorr, Valtorr, and Watoomb}. He has been known to call upon the power of many other deities, including his own archenemy Dormammu. As long as it is a deity of some sort, Doctor Strange is able to call upon it's power and use it in whatever way he wants. The only thing is, he is obligated to give any deity he calls upon his full service if the deity needs help with anything.
Darkness of the Divine Conduit: Without using a single spell, Doctor Strange can use his sheer willpower to forcibly remove the power of any entity. He has only done this twice before against Shuma-Gorath and Arioch. Seeing as this is a Black Magic spell, Strange prefers to not use this ability at all and will only ever use it if the situation has become truly dire and there is literally nowhere else he can turn. The fact that Doctor Strange can even use this power shows that he is a man with incredible willpower and strength of mind.
Astral Projection: The ability to separate one's 'soul' from their body is not uncommon among those who practice the mystic arts. Unlike some practitioners of this ability, Doctor Strange does not need to limit how long he spends in his astral form, though it does take some concentration to enter an astral state. In his astral form, Doctor Strange is not restricted by the many things which restrict humans, such as the need to eat, sleep or breathe. He also defies the laws of nature, such as gravity, in this form. Unless by the most powerful magic, Doctor Strange's astral form can not be harmed - though it cannot harm others. He can also move at simply ridiculous speeds and turn invisible. His astral form resembles an ethereal version of himself.
Telepathy: Reading others' minds is also far from uncommon among sorcerers. Doctor Strange, while not as well-versed in this ability as Professor Xavier of the X-Men, is a skilled user of telepathy. Many a time has Doctor Strange used this ability to predict what an opponent's next move will be in battle. For reasons that should be obvious, Doctor Strange cannot read the minds of those with some manner of defense against telepathy. Doctor Strange has also shielded his own mind from other telepaths.
Hypnotism: Many people would mistake hypnosis for mind control. It should be known that hypnosis is indeed a form of mind control, but it is not directly forcing one into doing whatever Doctor Strange commands. Instead, it is putting a suggestion into the subconscious of others, who will then {in most cases} do as the suggestion says. Doctor Strange has found that those with strong will power could not be hypnotized, nor could the very stupidso Doctor Strange can't hypnotize the people at Lexi's work. This ability can make people do pretty much anything, unless it is completely impossible by the person's own limits.
Illusions: Casting illusions is the power to make another person see something that is not there. Doctor Strange has done this many a time, not only to convince his foes that he is there but to create other images to fool his opponents. Doctor Strange is a powerful generator of illusions and can generate hyper realistic illusions. The only thing he cannot do is the impossible: make his illusions solid. He can also cast illusions over himself to make himself look like someone completely different. Sometimes his illusions are realistic enough that the person seeing them will be so convinced that they are there that they will feel whatever pain the illusion seems to be inflicting on them. This can lead to injury and even death.
Cosmic Awareness: While meditating, Doctor Strange can pick up on strange anomalies throughout the universe. If the anomaly is powerful enough, he is able to sense it without meditation. 'Anomalies' spread to time travelers, such as Kang the Conqueror, invaders from other dimensions, such as Dormammu, or attacks from aliens, like the Skrulls. Doctor Strange is able to know if someone entering the world who shouldn't be there is a force for good or for evil and he will act accordingly. Doctor Strange also could be aware of threats on a smaller scale, such as detecting disease within certain people.
Other Psychic Abilities: As a trained psychic, Doctor Strange can do a wide variety of things using his mind. For instance, he can alter or even block the memories of other's, go into people's dreams and send a painful psychic blast at someone with his mind. Not only that, but he can enter other people's minds in such a way that he can explore their mindscapeand say hi to Raz or something. Doctor Strange also has the ability to control minds, though he prefers to not use it unless it is completely necessary. Many of his other psychic powers go unused unless they are needed, seeing as they are generally of the powerful, damaging variety.
Divination: The power of predicting the future is among Doctor Strange's arsenal of abilities. There are many ways this is done, and Doctor Strange has in the past used every one of them. Most people would believe that this ability is completely untrustworthy, due to it's unpredictable nature. Doctor Strange knows otherwise and trusts fully in his power to look into the future. This is generally done with tarot cards, though it can be done with many other objects and materials.
Longevity: Doctor Strange has defeated the entity Death in a contest and won an exceptionally long life. In fact, he's effectively immortal unless killed in battle. No disease can kill him, nor can any means besides physical injury. This ability was also one of the Ancient One's, though it is not passed down by the Sorceror Supreme title. As a warning, a glowing ankh symbol appears on Doctor Strange's forehead when he's in severe danger.
Expert Surgeon: Holding an M.D. in neurosurgery, Doctor Strange has retained his knowledge of his former job of a surgical doctor. His skill in magic only allows him to improve his skill in surgery. He hasn't done this in a long while, though it is hard to lose the skill he once possessed. If the need for a surgeon ever arrived, Doctor Strange would certainly be ready to lend his aid.
Knowledge of the Occult: After forty years of study, Doctor Strange has become the expert on the Occult. His knowledge exceeds that of anyone in his own universe besides actual deities and likely any other universe. Doctor Strange would be glad to lend his knowledge to any who need information on any certain being or person. Doctor Strange has not only studied beings such as the Vishanti, but all others, even the pantheons such as the Greek and Norse pantheons. It is almost unheard of for Doctor Strange to not know of a certain deity, seeing as the library of the Sanctum Sanctorum is filled with books from pretty much everywhere, even other dimensions.
Expert Strategist: Defeating greater beings like Dormammu is not done with brute force. No, it requires a strategist of high caliber. Doctor Strange is one such strategist. Many a time has he used a foe's psychological weaknesses instead of their physical ones to defeat them. For instance, he will often use Dormammu's large ego to get him to fight without using his overpowering magical ability. Doctor Strange has also led the superhero team the Defenders and has gained much skill in leading a team.
Martial Artist: After much training with Wong, Doctor Strange has become a skilled athlete and martial artist. Even some of the most powerful beings couldn't face Doctor Strange in physical combat, such as Dormammu. When the two did battle without their powers, Doctor Strange eventually defeated him with sheer skill in fighting. With physical combat, Docotr Strange was able to subdue the Mighty Thor, whose strength is vastly superior to Doctor Strange's. All-in-all, Doctor Strange is a formidable foe to anyone as a martial artist.

Main/Important Equipment
The Eye of Agamatto: The Eye of Agamatto is possibly Doctor Strange's most powerful artifact. While using it, he can see through all lies, including illusions. It can destroy any illusion conjured, even those only visible to one person. It can also absorb massive amounts of any energy, no matter what sort of energy it is. It can also amplify Doctor Strange's psychic abilities so that they rival even the ability of the world's greatest telepath Professor Xavier. The Eye can also play back events as though they were a video. It lift thousands upon thousands of pounds into the air telekinetically, as well as placing beings in suspended animation and open portals to other dimensions. It also tracks magical and psychic energy. When used as an offensive weapon it gives off a light that weakens any evil beings, such as demons and extradimensional entities. When used for too long, no being on Earth or any other dimension can withstand the light it gives off for long. Because of it's power, Doctor Strange only uses the light as a last resort. The eye is attached to an amulet which is passed down ot the current Sorcerer Supreme. Due to it's nature, the Eye can only ever be used by a being with a pure heart and soul. If any dark entity were to attempt to use it, it would set off it's defense mechanism of releasing it's powerful light on the user. Doctor Strange always has the Eye around his neck, especially when going into battle.
The Cloak of Levitation: Doctor Strange's cloak allows him to fly at 25 miles per hour. It also responds to his thoughts and has been used as a 'third set of hands' for him, the second set being telekinesis. It can attack a foe physically when Doctor Strange himself is incapacitated. It is also indestructible unless destroyed by powerful magic. Many a time has Doctor Strange used it as a shield against a foe's attack.
The Orb of Agamatto: In the Sanctum Sanctorum is this large crystal ball. Doctor Strange uses it to survey the universe for any danger present. It is all seeing and can detect dimensional anomalies to show to Doctor Strange. The Orb can also look into other dimensions, though it is a bit blurry when looking into certain dimensions. The Orb can also teleport it's user to wherever it is looking.
The Wand of Watoomb: The Wand of Watoomb is one of the more powerful artifacts in Doctor Strange's possession. It is controlled by it's user's thoughts and can cast many of it's own spells as well as amplify the spells of it's user. It can create powerful mystical blasts, create shields and open portals to other dimensions. It can also absorb any energy fired at it, even blasts from beings such as Dormammu. The Wand, if stolen, could be separated into powerless pieces.
Sash: Doctor Strange's sash is able to stretch out and wrap around opponents. It is very tough, nigh-unbreakable, even. It can also be used as a whip or rope.
The Book of the Vishanti: The Book of the Vishanti contains many a powerful spell for Doctor Strange to use. The Book contains an endless number of pages, each one filled with spells. The spells in the Book are generally "white magic" spells. The book's infinite number of spells could not possibly be all named here. It can also deflect magic, but can never be used offensively.
The Darkhold: A book that Doctor Strange keeps only because it would be horribly dangerous to fall into anyone else's hands. It is the dark version of the Book of the Vishanti and contains infinite dark spells for various twisted purposes. Doctor Strange has only used it a few times before and only in times of need. It can also be used to deflect magic.
Doctor Strange has countless other artifacts in the Sanctum Sanctorum.
Sanctum Sanctorum: The Sanctum Sanctorum is the home of Doctor Strange, which contains countless magical artifacts. It is protected with the Seal of the Vishanti, which prevents any dark beings from entering. On the outside it appears to be a regular stately manor, but on the inside it is much larger so it can contain all of Doctor Strange's magical artifacts and books.
Weaknesses
Psychological Flaws...
CAUGHT OFF GUARD...: It is possible to catch Doctor Strange off guard and defeat him that way. When not looking into the Orb of Agamotto he cannot see all and is occasionally unprepared for battle.
Physical Flaws...
Human: For all his magical ability, artifacts and martial arts, Doctor Strange is still a human and he can be killed by all things humans can be killed by. He an also be caught off guard and killed that way.
Incantations and Gestures: Doctor Strange relies on spoken incantations and hand gestures to cast his spells. If his hands are tied and his mouth bound he will be unable to cast his spells and will be rendered useless.
Science: Magic's greatest opponent is science. Doctor Strange's magic cannot replicate science and his magic is slightly weaker against opponents who use science.
Other Flaws...
Beings such as Dormammu are able to defeat Doctor Strange with sheer magical ability. Doctor Strange barely stands a chance against most of the deities he calls upon, though he has defeated a few of them in battle.
