The Chimera eyed Lloyd hungrily, sharp fangs dripping a poisonous substance. Claws as big as the swordsman's fingers dug into the ground, creating large gouges in the earth. It growled, saliva dripping from fiercesome fangs out of hunger. Nearby a green and white form cowered behind a rock, yelping whines sounding throughout the air.
"Hey, kitty." Reddish darted back and forth from the oversized cat-like creature to the worn and dull exsphere laying behind it, nestled in a pile of treasures the creature had gathered up over many years. Here, in the mountains near the Temple of Darkness, the Chimera lived. Unfortunately it had come to be in possession of an exsphere-- something that the swordsman was hunting down throughout the world so that he could destroy them.
With a roar, the creature lunged towards Lloyd, claws extending wickedly. The swordsman grinned, swords flashing out and slashing towards the creature, to cut it down with a single strike.
But then something really strange happened.
The area around them seemed to shimmer and slow down. The Eternal Sword, still contained within the Vorpal and Flamberge blades reacted-- and in the next second reality itself seemed to rip itself apart. Both the creature and Lloyd felt a sensation of nothingness, then falling, and finally an undescribable one-- like fitting through a space too small. Then proper reality returned with a gush of sensations and a rough landing.
"What the!?" Grass pressed against the swordsman's face. How could there be grass when just moments ago he'd been in the depths of a cold, dark cave? Sunlight beamed down upon the two of them. A small, confused growl sounded off near to Lloyd. Something pressed against the swordsman's side, whines increasing both in sound and rapidity.
Lloyd sat up and saw Noishe, cowering beside him, trying to shove his muzzle in between his arm and side, tail shaking between his legs. Farther the Chimera was rising to its paws once more, eyes red with confusion and rage.
And surrounding the three was somewhere Lloyd had never seen before.
"...Huh?"

Oh look, a monster.
Well, perhaps to the sudden arrival's eyes there would be two - Makya had been doing fine by herself, basking in the sun in a brief reprieve from having to hide in alleys or move at night. The place was empty, the sun was warm... sure, the ground wasn't a desert or nice solid mountain rock, but it wasn't cold and wasn't that what counted?
Yes, the world was all wrong and she was alone and getting hungry again but... all things considered, it could have been much worse.
It could have been snowing.
Still, when there was a faint clap of air moving, and a strange pressure to it for a second - as if lightning had struck nearby and hammered even the wind to a standstill -
Well, that got her attention, even if the sun did feel quite nice on her scales. There was always time later to bask in the sun, but a fight, with something that looked so big and was roaring with such ferocity... That didn't happen all the time. Or even most of the time. Arching her back and neck, the Garchomp stretched for a moment, feeling blood flow back into her pleasantly warm limbs, and then roared. The sound was certainly loud enough to carry for quite a distance, but it was hardly an empty threat, especially as the Dragon-type then headed in the direction of the small gathering. One human with swords, one cowering dog-like thing, one even larger beast that had been the one roaring - clearly, a normal scene.
Relatively normal, at least. She had almost started getting used to seeing random oddities that would have shocked her badly in her own world. Things were strange but... as long as she could fight, she could deal with them. Like right now, of course. Lowering into a combat stance, she didn't quite ignore the human or what seemed to be something like his Pokemon that was beside him, but they were... significantly less important than the monster. That thing, big as it was, looked like perfect prey, and she snarled at it, waiting to see if it would prove a fight. That was all that mattered, really.

The Chimera began to stalk towards Lloyd, eyes narrowed in hunger. Seemed like even though something -really- weird had just happened, the Chimera was a lot more interested in getting something in it's stomach.
However Noishe was clearly a bit too freaked out by what had just happened. With a final whimpering yelp, the protozoan turned and fled, racing past Garchomp and diving into the bushes were he proceeded to attempt to hide. Well, in all honestly, that was probably actually for the best. Noishe had never really been much of a fighter and he probably just would have gotten in the way of the battle.
Lloyd turned his attention back to the Chimera, swords at the ready. He grinned, waiting for it to strike. The Chimera paused, crouched low to the ground and lunged towards Lloyd with a loud, angry roar, scorpion tail thrashing behind itself.
Lloyd grinned, blades meeting it's fearsome claws. He braced himself, red boots digging into the ground as the Chimera struggled to push him over so that it could leap on him and rip his throat out. No luck for it though, Lloyd had taken down plenty of monsters before. Without any effort at all, the swordsman flung the Chimera to the side.
But just as he went to finish it off, something gave a fearsome roar, drawing the attention of both combatants. Immediately the Chimera's attention was grabbed by the strange dragon-like creature, and it leapt back to it's feet, beginning to run towards it. In it's tiny brain, this one seemed like easy prey then the human with swords. How very wrong it was.

Was the thing stupid, or just overconfident? The green and white dog-like creature that had run past her clearly had no intention of fighting, but the monster was just as evidently ready to try and gut her. It was certainly racing towards her now, as if it could simply bowl her over with sheer size and a few roars.
The Garchomp grinned, taking a sort of fierce glee in having a fight sprung upon her so quickly. That happiness fell away quickly, though, replaced by something deeper, calmer. All she had to do was wait and act, after all. Battle was simple. The simplest thing in the world, really, and she was good at it. Why worry about being trapped, or alone, when she had at least one foundation left to her?
Well it was running at her already - she just braced herself and darted forward to meet it, twisting away at the last second. Her arms were spread, the fins and claws glowing with a faint aura as she called upon her own natural energy. Thus enhanced and sharpened, she lashed out at the chimera's side, keeping low so she could avoid being clawed or bitten in turn. The human was at this point completely ignored. It wasn't as if she could fight him after all.
The fact that he was holding swords completely escaped her, but then, she was rather busy at the moment.
