Even after being reunited with the Doctor once more and continuing her travels, it wasn't uncommon to find Oswin in Cardiff while the TARDIS occasionally refueled, down in the Torchwood hub with Jack or out on a mission for or with him. After all, with his missing teammates, he could probably use all the help he could get.
And since he'd helped her immensely when it came to tracking down the Doctor again, Oswin felt it appropriate that she repay the favor every once in awhile. Add to that that Oswin got to hang around a good-looking guy who knew the Doctor and all about time-travel and aliens, and she was totally sold without even needing the addition of excitement whenever the TARDIS couldn't provide it.
While Oswin wasn't a death seeker by any means, she did need her daily dose of adrenaline. And she was definitely getting hers today, having tracked a huge, leonine alien creature to an abandoned warehouse. Killing it was out of the question, but the Doctor had offered to materialize the TARDIS around it once Oswin had immobilized it and bring it back to its home planet. Which. Was a win-win situation for everyone, really. Except Oswin, who had the pleasure of attempting to bell the cat, as it were. Or manage to get the stunning device onto the giant lion with a mane of fire.
And this wasn't even in the top ten weirdest things she'd ever done.
"Heading in now. Get ready," Oswin spoke into the communicator around her wrist, recently repaired from it's trip to the Enchanted Forest, as she stepped inside the building. Both Jack and the Doctor would be able to hear her, with the latter standing by to bring the TARDIS in and the former monitoring what was going on from the hub. Hacking into the warehouse's security system had taken Oswin a matter of seconds and allowed them to get a good look at where the creature, known as an Ayophe, was lurking.
Pushing open an inner door to the heart of the warhouse, only to be met with a low growl and a sudden glow of fire. Oops. "Found it," she whispered quickly into her communicator, taking off down the hallway before the Ayophe lunged for the door. Said door flew off its hinges, crashing into the wall just behind Oswin as the room's occupant slammed through the doorway after its perceived prey. Yup. Definitely a time for running. Luckily, running just happened to be one of the many, many things Oswin Oswald happened to do best.
Reaching a huge pair of reinforced double doors, Oswin shoved them closed with all her strength, quickly pulling the dead bolt into place. The doors rattled as the Ayophe hit them and the small windows were briefly illuminated by the glow of it's mane, but for now, they didn't give. Oswin, however, knew better than to trust them and instead took off down the corridor to get a head start and maybe formulate some kind of plan that didn't just consist of running for her life.
Oswin glanced briefly over her shoulder as she rounded a corner, the Ayophe's roars still echoing from behind the door. And in that one quick instant that she wasn't paying attention, she collided mid-run with someone and was knocked right to the ground. Disgruntled, her immediate reaction was to shout.
"Blimey, Jack, thought I told you to-!" But, it wasn't Jack at all. From the ground, Oswin raised her gaze to meet a different pair of eyes than she was expecting. A pair, in fact, that she hadn't really expected to see ever again, that she'd first seen staring back at her from a screen inside her imagined escape pod. She gaped for a moment, temporarily stunned, if anything at all could actually stun Oswin Oswald into complete silence. "...Doctor?" The word fell from her lips before her previous, teasing nickname could be deployed. Because if there was one person she hadn't been expecting to literally run into, it was the one standing right in front of her.

As much as he loved her, the Doctor could not believe that the TARDIS was acting this way. "I know you take me to places where I'm need but this of all places is the last place I really need to be. You don't even need a recharge!" The Timelord whined at his oh so faithful time machine, fiddling with her controls as he tried to check the exact place where they landed. He knew they were near Cardiff, the popular fueling spots for a TARDIS, but the old ship had enough gas in her to last for two decades.
"Well I hope you behave yourself while I'm gone. We're losing time here." Ironic he should say such a thing isn't it? As he stepped out the doors he took a good look at his surroundings. It was easy to tell he was in the hallway of some sort of warehouse. All warehouses were the same to him, so it wasn't hard to deduce. As he walked out to investigate, he closed the doors and rounded a corner in the hallway.
It didn't take long for something to tell him that something was off in this place. A faint growl echoed through the hall, and not from anything of Earth origin. "Seems like I do need to be here, more than I thought." the man said before going into the run with a smile on his face. As much as the little side trip upset him, he couldn't pass up this sort of chance. As he ran a figure suddenly came around a corner up ahead and bumped into him, making him take a step back and sending the figure to the ground.
"Oh my bad, I didn't see you-" He was left speechless as he looked at the face of someone he didn't think he'd meet. Especially someone he met only moments ago, well not technically the same person, per se, wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff you know? "Now I know I needed to be here. I've been looking for you Souffle Girl." he said with a grin and extended his hand to her, "Or rather, Miss Oswald."

Miss Oswald.
Oswin blinked, staring at his hand for a moment. He knew her name. More importantly, he knew to match her face with her name, which really should've been impossible. He'd never seen her face before, he'd only seen the Dalek, so why...why did he know she was Oswin? She let out a quiet, slightly breathy little laugh, finally reaching up to take his hand. And perhaps gripping it a little too tightly, as thought he might just vanish if she let go. "Wish I could say the same for you," she replied, allowing him to pull her up to her feet. "Didn't think I'd ever see you again."
Recovering quickly(or partially recovering), Oswin let go of the Doctor's hand, looking over her shoulder. "Right. We better move before that thing gets through the doors." She doubted she really needed to explain, this sort of thing was the Doctor's area of expertise, after all. The fact that he was looking for her stung a bit. Would there be a choice involved, which Doctor to go along with? The one she'd met, who'd tried so hard to rescue her, but failed thanks to his oldest enemies, or the one who'd bought her along, showed her the wonders of the universe and been her first friend in this new world she found herself alive in?
Well. Luckily it didn't need to be thought about now, there were more pressing matters to attend to. Like the loud crash at the end of the hallway and the sudden glow of fire reflected on the walls of the warehouse. The Ayophe had broken free of the doors. "Run!" Oswin cried, grabbing the Doctor's wrist without thinking and taking off down the hall towards another empty room that she knew had a dead bolt. Unfortunately, said empty room was also a dead end. Okay. Problem. And what did companions do with problems? Well, other than letting the Doctor solve it, of course. Oswin wasn't really one for letting him take all the credit.
Slamming the door behind them and dead bolting that, she winced at the slam of Ayophe on metal as it tried to get in. They probably had a minute at most to work something out. Which. Was actually a lot compared to the time length she'd had in the past. There actually was loads you could do with eight seconds, by the way. "Okay. We've got...probably just a minute 'til that thing gets in and I've got to get this on him." Oswin held up the small black device built to painlessly stun the Ayophe. "So! You've got to distract him while I get close enough, got it?"

It wasn't rocket science to tell that the woman was surprised to even see the man before her. Last they met they left on some...harsh terms. He thought she was gone forever, but after a certain Christmas "miracle" he knew that it wasn't completely true. Though he wasn't really expecting to meet the same girl as the one who was a Dalek. "Same could be said from my point of view."
Before more words could be exchanged she spoke of not having enough time for chatter. The reason was soon explained why as a loud crash and a odd glow came from further down the hall. She soon told him to do something he had done his whole life, and he wasn't complaining. "Right behind you!" As he ran to catch up to her he took a quick look behind him and saw the feline creature catching up.
"Up ahead is my ship! We can use it to get out of here!" He would like to deal with the situation at hand, but with this Oswin girl, well she was top priority. Hopefully they could make it to the TARDIS before they became fillet for a space kitty.

Though getting out of the warehouse wasn't exactly Oswin's first priority, getting somewhere safe where she could actually think for a good five minutes was definitely an idea she could get onboard with. Especially with the Ayophe gaining on them with every passing second. Already, she could hear it crashing around the corner with a roar, obviously not all too happy that the things it was chasing were getting away. Oswin gave the Doctor a quick nod as they ran, not really wanting to focus on talking, just in case it slowed them down. The glow behind them flared up again as the Ayophe neared, and a column of flame shot towards right where they'd been just a moment ago, scorching the wall harmlessly.
Skidding around a corner, Oswin spotted the TARDIS dead ahead and ran for it without a thought. Maybe the Doctor would think it was strange that she didn't question the time machine's appearance, but explanations could wait until they were safely inside and not about to become dinner for a space lion. Throwing the door open, she darted inside, instinctively bringing a hand to her communicator to throw up the shields. Wait. Wrong TARDIS. Once the Doctor was inside as well, she ran to the console, hands hovering over it for just a moment before throwing up a level just in time for the Ayophe to slam right into the shields.
Outside, the great flaming lion roared in anger, taking a few swipes at the invisible shield before prowling off to another corner of the room. Oswin breathed a sigh of relief, bracing herself against the console and flashing the Doctor a grin. Adrenaline rush fulfilled. "Hello, again." So many different emotions coursing through her with this second meeting, it was easy for Oswin to fall back on her flirtatious and teasing exterior. Last time she'd seen him...well. It certainly wasn't the circumstances they were in now. "Miss me?" Definitely easier than actually facing every thought that was going through her mind. Especially those pertaining to the fact that the last time those eyes had looked at her, they hadn't been quite so curious and questioning.
But, that was in the past. And Oswin didn't really like thinking about the past when she could help it.

As the two ran Oswin managed to get ahead of him and rush into the TARDIS without really saying anything about it. Strange, you'd think a blue box would be worth questioning. Then again they were in the middle of being eaten alive and roasted at the same time. So questions were best saved for a later date. Once they were both in though, that was when the Doctor formed questions in his head while watching the girl.
She touched the controls and threw the switch to activate the shields, making the prey safe from the predator. How did she even know which switch did which on the control panel? She had never even been on the TARDIS. Well, except for her past self, but it was impossible that information like that transferred to different people in time. "Yes indeed, and while we may need to catch up, would you mind telling me how you knew to work the shields?" Not really anyone but him knew how to work his precious sexy box.

Oswin grinned an enigmatic grin. She loved being something of a mystery, even if she really wasn't away just have much of one she was to the man (or, Time Lord, rather) in front of her. Still, showing up and being suddenly able to work the TARDIS and know things that she really shouldn't have been able to know made her even with the Doctor knowing to match her face with her name. Circling around to the other side of the console, she half-leaned against it, smiling up at him. "'S a bit of a long story," she told him, feeling particularly smug about being able to hold information over his head. There weren't many people in the universe that could do that, but then again. Oswin Oswald wasn't exactly most people, now was she?
"But! Seeing as we've definitely got time," Oswin glanced towards the open door, though the Ayophe was nowhere in sight and settled in a little more. "Guess I just sort of...ended up here. Well. Not here, here. Earth, I mean. Wound up in a graveyard actually, which, by the way, just happened to be full of a load of friends of yours. Weeping Angels. Had a bit of a run-in with them, but..." Oswin hesitated. Was mentioning that her Doctor was here a good idea? Which one of them was her Doctor? "You just sort of happened to be hanging 'round where I was dropped. Another you, I mean, your...Tenth, I think he is. He helped me out and...well. Took me along for the ride afterwards."
She couldn't help but feel guilty, though really, there wasn't any reason to feel that way. What was she supposed to do, stuck on Earth, alive and human again and being offered what might have been her only change to do what she was supposed to do in the first place? Wait around for the proper Doctor to show up? No, thanks. Still, Oswin did look away from him as she continued to speak. "'S sort of hard to spend a bit traveling time and space without picking a few things up, yeah?" And pause. "Before you ask, I've got no idea why m'not...like I was. Not that I'm in much of a position to really want to know." Curiosity was one thing, but Oswin knew well enough to not go searching for the answers she might not want to know.

Well the girl's explanation was rather informative. More so than the Doctor even predicted. She wasn't sure how but she was brought from a point in time to a graveyard, and as a human being no less. Then she seemed to have met...a past regeneration of himself. Did that mean that the laws of time were written over in this world? Possibly if they managed to produce such a feat. Afterwards she must have learned how to operate the TARDIS with his Tenth.
"Well now you have been through quite a lot haven't you. I'm sorry you had to go through all that, at least I, well a past me, managed to get to you. But I know you would have taken care of yourself just like you have today." He was honestly proud of her really, despite the aura of enigma around her. She was an interesting girl anyway. Now the only major question was why she was a human again, and not a Dalek.
"Well I can tell you that whatever brought you here must have made you human. Why and how is a mystery. One I'm interested in finding out for a later date. In the meantime, why don't we go someplace a bit more suitable for talking? Besides I'm pretty sure the little pyre kitty out there is getting really angry with us. Any ideas where we should go? Since you seem to have been here longer than me." he said with a smile, putting trust into the girl that he knew from a special bond.

Inwardly, Oswin glowed at the look in his eyes. Up until this point, her last real lingering memory of this Doctor had been his expression, his eyes when that door had slid open and revealed what she'd become. Angry and hating and cold...of course, Oswin hardly blamed him considering what he'd been looking at, but that hadn't stopped it from hurting whenever she remembered it. It had been the reason she was so scared to tell his Tenth what had happened to her. What if the reaction was the same? What if he just dropped her off on Earth, unable to have someone who'd been one of his worst and oldest enemies on board his TARDIS? Thankfully, he'd been more understanding than she'd expected, but still. Rejection from any of the Doctors frightened her.
Idly, she twisted the TARDIS key around her neck between her fingers, trying hard not to show just how pleased she was. He was proud of her. "'S not your fault. Better I wind up here than nowhere." Being dead really wasn't the most pleasant experience, even if Oswin had only had a few seconds of it before whatever had taken her had done so. "Besides! Today's not really like that, I was sort of prepared for our friend out there." she jerked her head towards the open doors where the Ayophe attempted to lurk in the shadows, a process made hard by the fact that it basically carried light with it everywhere. Putting her hands in the pockets of her jacket, Oswin turned up the stunning device. Oh, right. She still had to do that.
"You Tenth thinks it's a load of holes in the universe, little rifts that open and close just long enough for people to come through into this universe. I've got a few friends that've done that" Or, well. Maybe just one or two, but really, a sorceress from Camelot could probably attest to something going wrong and throwing her into the middle of the 21st century. "Bit weird that this universe hasn't gone mad with people traveling through this, but I'm guessing it's because the rifts don't really stay open. We'd have a lot more trouble on our hands if they did." Like, an unstable world where people from other places and times, and especially people who'd been dead would have to be returned to where they were once they'd solved it.
Oswin didn't like to think about that.
"Actually," she turned to the door, pulling the stunning device out of her pocket, "if you'll just give me a minute." The Ayophe was lying in a corner now, watching patiently for the two of them to exit the TARDIS. Good thing they wouldn't need to, not if Oswin could get a good shot. In a flash, she'd thrown down the shields again, ran for the door and thrown the device right for the creature's neck. It latched on and the Ayophe roared in surprise, leaping to it's paws before falling right back down, successfully stunned. "Ha!" Oswin grinned triumphantly before pulling her sleeve up and flicking open her communicator. "Doctor? 'S all set, you've just got to come and pick him up."
She glanced over at the Doctor behind her. "D'you think you could come get me later? Something's come up. Send me your location in a bit and I'll meet you there." The benefits of fixing up a broken vortex manipulator. Speaking of which. Oswin switched frequencies with the press of a button. "And you, Captain," Oswin smirked, "keep out of trouble without me." Snapping the communicator closed, she turned back to the Doctor, giving him a smile. "Sorry, you were saying?"

Well now this girl had learned a lot of tricks hasn't she? Plus she was a brave gal, going up against that alien and then...putting a leash on it? My, she was braver than he remembered. She then begun to speak on some sort of communicator, which oddly looked like a vortex manipulator. Guess that's how she gets around on her own. He wasn't sure who she was talking to though, until she said a single word. Captain. There was only one person he knew that went by that, and a smirk appeared on his face.
Once she was done talking she turned back to the Doctor and asked for his statement again. What a girl. "I was asking if there is anyplace you would like for me to take you. The TARDIS is better means of travel than that little toy you got. So where shall we go Miss Oswin?"
