To be honest, Oswin had been just a little put off when she'd looked outside and seen that the TARDIS was, once again, in Storybrooke. "All of time and space and we keep ending up here," she gave the Doctor a brief look over her shoulder as she pulled her jacket on and fastened her utility belt around her waist, "Thought I told you that we shouldn't be coming back here, not after what happened last time." Though, admittedly, last time had been about four months ago, according to her communicator, which she'd set to change to reflect whatever time they were in. Maybe by now, Cora had was at least lying low or wasn't aware that the two of them were back.
And, as the Doctor was easily forgiven in Oswin's eyes, she flashed him a quick smile as she put the last of her bits of tech into place on her belt. Being prepared was always good when it came to stuff like this, even in a place they were both familiar with. Outside, dusk was just beginning to descend upon the forest just outside of town and a cool breeze announced that it was most likely autumn. Oswin looked around the darkening woods, curious. She'd been in here "So. What're we here for, then? There's got to be something, else the TARDIS wouldn't-" She cut herself off as she turned around, catching sight of what looked like the mouth of a cave in the distance.
"Doctor," she tapped him on the arm, pointing before grinning up at him. "Looks promising." Caves generally had things inside them, in Oswin's experience. And things inside caves were generally the reason they ended up materializing right in front of caves. Ergo, the cave was definitely worth checking out, especially one in Storybrooke. Who knew what sort of things were hidden away from the town that had come over from the Enchanted Forest? Humans couldn't be the only thing the curse pulled, after all, there had to be other things that were bought here too, right? Oswin offered her hand. "Shall we?"
Even as they walked towards the cave, Oswin glanced around warily. She felt a little braver than she normally would with the Doctor by her side and her hand tucked safely in his, but still. Cora was after the both of them and coming here was riskier than their other adventures had been. Oswin didn't even want to being imagining being cursed again, this time in front of the Doctor and with no Regina around to perform the counter-spell. "Best get inside quick," she said, speaking both to the Doctor and to herself, "if it's dark out here, it'll be darker in there."

Storybrooke was an interesting little town. All the popular fairy tale characters you could think of were there, from Prince Charming to Red Riding Hood. In the Doctor's opinion, the place was absolutely brilliant. He had been just a little bit wary when he'd heard that Oswin had befriended the Evil Queen, of all characters, but he got over it quickly when Oswin explained the situation. In fact, he now found it totally amazing. He had connections to an actual fairy tale character! Well, on some planets, he was a fairy tale character, but that doesn't count. The Doctor, who had been scanning the town for any interesting life forms, turned around as Oswin spoke. "Like the new Cardiff, isn't it?" He asked, grinning at his own inside joke.
Behind him, he heard a beep. He turned and saw a red dot on the TARDIS scanner. Raising an eyebrow, he typed in a few specifications and waited for results. Apparently, whatever the dot represented was big. Knowing Storybrooke, that probably wasn't a good thing. Apparently, it was in a nearby cave. The Doctor followed Oswin out of the TARDIS and looked around. Well, he didn't exactly see any caves... At least, until one was pointed out by Oswin. "Well, hello..." The Doctor said, looking the cave over. "According to the TARDIS, there's something big in there. And by big, I mean big." He displayed how big it was with a dramatic hand motion. "It's probably dangerous in there..."
Which, of course, was why they were going in. The Doctor loved new things, especially when they involved a massive beast that was probably causing trouble for everyone. Approaching the cave with Oswin, the Doctor was able to look more closely at it. It was, as he expected it would be, a totally normal cave. There was nothing abnormal about it at all! Well, except one thing. If one looked closely, and the Doctor was looking very closely, you might be able to see a few scorch marks lining the entrance. That was... promising? The Doctor stopped and walked over to one side of the entrance. He procured the Sonic Screwdriver from his coat and shined it on the scorch marks. "Just like I thought." he said, turning to his Companion. "It's dragon fire."
Grinning, the Doctor turned towards the cave. Dragons, fairy tale characters... It was like a dream come true! "Dark?" The Doctor asked, glancing at Oswin. "Well then, we're in luck! I've got a..." The Doctor reached into his pocket and procured a device. "...torch." It was, of course, an average torch. Nothing special at all. He turned on the torch and shined it's light into the cave. It was a pretty big cave, from the look of things... "Well, we'd better get going, shouldn't we?"

"What wrong with dangerous?" Oswin smirked up at the Doctor as they started off towards the cave. Really, dangerous was sort of their thing. Safe was boring and predictable and all the things Oswin didn't fancy very much. Unless they were on a bit of a break, which they most certainly were not at the moment. And, even if they were, trouble and danger still managed to find them anyway, not that she ever minded much. And she suspected that the Doctor didn't either.
Her hand slipped out of his as the mouth of the cave began to loom over their heads, and Oswin hurried forward a few paces ahead to peer inside. Didn't really look like much from what she could see, just a few feet of stone walls before the whole thing was swallowed by darkness. And with the setting sun, Oswin suspected that even those few feet wouldn't remain visible for long. Craning her neck, she tried to see a little more into the cave's mouth as the Doctor's sonic screwdriver whirred behind her. "Sorry?" she looked over her shoulder as he spoke. Had he said dragon? Well. Actually. Considering where they were, dragons probably weren't so unlikely.
"Must've come over from the Enchanted Forest when everyone else did," she replied, squinting in the dim light to make out the scorch marks on the stone, "Regina probably kept it quiet 'til the curse broke." After all, dragons wandering around in the middle of small towns were generally not a common sight, even if the townspeople happened to have come from a land of magic.
Oswin returned the Doctor's grin, snapping her own torch off her belt and into her hand with one quick movement. "Very impressive," she smirked, shining her own light into the cave. Definitely a lot bigger than it looked from the outside. As she stepped forward, something contracted sharply in her chest, causing her to pause for just a minute. Caves, after all, normally led underground. In tight spaces, no less. The beam of light from her torch quivered a little, but Oswin quickly stopped it, swallowing her fear and heading after the Doctor into the darkness.
The inside of the cave was indeed dark. However, as opposed to a normal cave, which might have had the faint sound of water dripping or maybe an underground steam or two rushing through it, this one was dry and silent. Probably because water wasn't exactly a good thing for fire-breathing dragons. Or, so Oswin thought, she actually hadn't had much experience with dragons up until this point. "If this thing's big," she finally spoke, trying to distract herself from their location, "it's got to be somewhere pretty deep, yeah? Biggest cavern there is or something?" Those kind of things were normally pretty deep in networks of caves, right?
A few quick steps bought Oswin to the Doctor's side, but she quickly resisted the temptation to reach out and grab his hand again. If there was a dragon nearby or anywhere in these caves, they'd both need their hands free to run as fast as they could. Actually. Oswin wasn't entirely sure what they were going to do if they actually found the dragon. It wasn't like they had anything to keep it subdued or anything. Then again, plans were something that she and the Doctor rarely had. Taking things as they came was usually their approach, and while it generally landed them in trouble, Oswin would be lying if she said she didn't like it. Not knowing what was coming up was exciting, after all.
Even if it involved a giant, fire-breathing lizard.
