It had not been a long journey, in many ways. Flight through dimensions was not something to be measured in distance or time - all that mattered was the destination, the twist of thought and intent to move -
And there were so many intents here, so many feelings. Millions of them, and some so strong. It was not a matter of choice or will or wanting to do it. There were wishes here, thoughts of longing, desires to be fulfilled. This was their purpose, their entire reason for existing. To find those individual lives and grant their wishes, bring their most innermost wants into the world. To banish regret and sorrow and grief.
The rift that opened out over the night sky of San Francisco was invisible, but the Unown themselves were not. Chirping as they sent out electromagnetic and telepathic pulses, the better to analyse the city that sprawled out below them, they also radiated light. Streamers of colour followed their passage, dimensional energy rippling around them as an innumerable amount entered the area. As the light faded, they swirled downwards, through the streets without any worry about being seen. Finally, they came to a stop, swirling in a great orb over a small section of parkland. There were hundreds at once, all moving simultaneously and with eerie coordination, in a dance known to them since the moment they were created.
Everything would be alright. They would make it so.

Post by Eponine Thenardier on Feb 18, 2013 12:30:24 GMT -5
For Eponine, there was very little to differentiate between New York and San Francisco. Oh, she certainly figured out quickly enough that she was in a different place, but it really wasn't so different. Just another huge city she had to find her way around in. It was no less or more confusing than the other had been, and very little had changed. She was still sulking around in alleyways, slipping wallets out of people's pockets and being given strange looks if she were out in the open for too long. Why? Because her clothing wasn't the brightly colored things they wore? Eponine was no more covered from the elements than they were. But, then again, the things people wore in this time were clean and pretty and her rags were the opposite.
Which was why she either stuck to deserted alleyways or to parks where people did go too much. It was nicer in the latter, surrounded by grass and trees. Some of them even had flower gardens, and it was nice to see some beauty in the ugliness that was her life. There was little else to do in this place but try to keep alive, and though Eponine wasn't really used to leisure, she had to admit it was nice to simply be able to admire the flowers while they were still there. Hopefully, the chill wouldn't kill all of them anytime soon.
She was in the park at night this time, under a tree. The soft grass was much better than concrete and perhaps if the guards didn't spot her, she could sleep here tonight, hidden away from the city's harsh reality. When she was awoken from her light sleep by a light, Eponine assumed that it was a night guard shining one of those strange sticks of light in her face. However, upon opening her eyes, she found the glow much softer, and more colorful than anything she had ever seen before. Looking towards the sky, the source of the light, she watched in awe as the rainbow streams danced through the clouds and down to the streets, fast approaching the clearing of parkland right outside what would have been the shade of the tree she was half-lying under.
But, it wasn't just colors now. There were things creating them, swirling and dancing through the air like leaves. Eponine had never seen anything like it before and her head tilted slightly to the side as she watched, entranced by the sight before her eyes. Though she was unsure of whether or not to approach, it was almost as though they were hypnotizing her, drawing her close to them. And Eponine did have a great amount of curiosity for what had created something so pretty. Could they speak? Why were they here, in this city, of all places? Getting to her feet, she stepped a little closer. "Hello?" The word was soft and uncertain, but hopefully, at least one of the creatures had heard her.

It'd been a while since Once-ler had gotten some time to himself. Most of his time had been spent trapped in his own head with either his annoying or kind counterpart while the other was in control of his body.
He really wasn't feeling anymore comfortable about the fact that two personas of his past selves were becoming more real than before and were making friends.
Thankfully it was finally his turn to take back his body, and his life for that matter, and with the time he had he'd decided to travel. He'd stuck around Storybrooke for far too long. He'd made some friends there, but he wanted to see someplace new.
Though of course, Belle wouldn't let him leave with a few promises to come back and see her--seeing as how she couldn't leave the town without risking losing her memory. He'd agreed to the promise and set off to see the strange world called "Earth."
He'd traveled to many places, some hot, some cold, and some that were the perfect temperature. Some were noisy, some were quiet, some were small towns, and some were big cities. He currently found himself in a strange placed called San Francisco--to be more specific, a park in San Francisco.
He sat beneath several trees--no where close to Eponine though--, sketchbook in hand and a pencil in the other.
He hadn't picked up a pencil in years since...the incident.
But he didn't think about that, he shoved the memories away as he continued working on the drawing--a sketch of the area around him. Though, instead of the trees around him, he drew the beautiful Truffula Trees that haunted his memories.
Nothing around him had been able to steal his attention away from the drawing...at least, not until colors started to reflect onto the paper.
Once-ler blinked as he turned his gaze towards the sky. His eyes widened as he watched colors fly through the air, being lead by oddly shaped, dancing, creatures.
"What is going on?" Once-ler thought aloud as he stared up at the strange beings.

This place was weird.
Human cities were always strange, but the Vagabond always liked them because they were democracies. The ones he had traveled to by foot were always interesting. He remembered going to some that were very hot and filled with waterways and stores, with friendly people in boots and weird hats. Some were cooler, with great towers of timber surrounding everything, and with rainy days and nights, but with a happy atmosphere none the less. Others were very cold, and covered in snow, with gigantic fur-covered mammals stalking the massive evergreen forests. They were called "Moose" or something? Yes, moose things. The Vagabond let his mind drift to moose things for a moment before recalling his train of thought as he trekked through this particular city.
This one, thought the Vagabond, discarding the thoughts of moose things, was especally strange. It was very hot, and the water was a very clear, pretty blue. It's people were friendly, yes, but they were also weird. There was a block of strange people in pink shirts-- he could only assume they were Derse dreamers maybe?-- waving rainbows everywhere and throwing glitter on themselves, dancing around the block. Then, further down, there were people in turtlenecks like the grumpy anger grey text knight, discussing words he didn't understand over a cup of a weird brown beverage. The Vagabond managed to acquire a cup of the beverage and found it delicious, but couldn't find that sort of fulfillment he got from TaB, and had to run away after accidentally stealing one of the grey text human's delicious cake things. But after running through the block of dancing rainbow humans, no one seemed to care anymore, though it took a good while to brush off all the glitter from his mayoral vestage.
Of course, he didn't really mind strange. The happy dancing people were nice, and the angry smart people were pretty nice too until they decided to chase after him for being dumb. It really was his fault the entire time to be honest. He was so stupid. How could he have done something that idiotic? The Vagabond was glad none of his friends were around to see him act so stupid. But then, he began thinking about the friends that he had left behind, and the friends that weren't around any more and just got really sad.
He wound up sitting down alone at the pier for a while, dangling his black carapacian feet off the side, looking down at the nice, blue water. He thought he'd stay there til the sun went down, and as morning turned to afternoon, it seemed like that would be the case as the water turned murkier and murkier with each passing hour. But then, there was a series of strange lights in the sky. They confused the Vagabond, and he looked up momentarily, his depressing memories cut short by the illumination in the sky. He became enraptured for a moment, mesmerized, and almost fell into the pier because of it.
The Vagabond oogled the sky as the lights shined on. Passersby occasionally looked up as well, but all of them ignored him or seemed not to notice the small man sitting at the pier. And that was okay. But he couldn't help but feel like these new lights in the sky were shining just for him for some reason. He stood up, and climbed to the top of a nearby wooden pole to get a better look at those amazing colors in the sky, that too him, seemed almost personable.

Being on land was... actually a lot more comfortable for Eridan than it was for other sea dwellers. He spent a lot of time on land before, using it as an advantage to eventually destroy the land dwellers... and possibly to stay somewhat close to the few trolls who he actually talked to. It was a little different on Earth, though. Eridan certainly preferred the water to the land here, mostly because the land was populated with humans. As it turned out, humans were even worse than land dwelling trolls. They didn't give a single shit about the oceans, polluted everything and were just all around horrible people. So, Eridan normally hid out under the ocean away from humanity.
The only reason Eridan had come out of the ocean is so he could examine the strange humans. For a while, he had thought they had a similar blood caste to trolls. It had been rather awkward when he'd tried to call someone out for having red blood. After that particular incident, he had remained underwater for quite some time. In fact, this was is first time coming out since then. As he left the water, he noticed something strange in the sky. There were... strange letters in the sky. That was weird, but it could have just been some human thing. So, he ignored it.
The only thing Eridan really had on his mind was the Condesce. He knew that he needed to get more powerful for her. At that very moment, he was practically useless in her plans. Eridan remembered how his fellow Sburb players had gained abilities - they became God Tier. But there wasn't really any way to do that now.
Was there?
