Man, they didn't just give up! Lilynette wished she had more reiatsu of her own, just so she could do that thing Aizen had always liked to show off and slam them down to the ground with pressure alone, to show just how far above them she was.
As if any of these had anything on an Arrancar. But there were a lot of them, and though she could outpace them easily, or blast them back with ceros, the problem was... she couldn't do that for long. Unlike Starrk, her stamina was shit, and her power wasn't anything special around Arrancar either. Luckily, the few hits she did take were glancing, repelled by her hierro and saving her from anything more than a bruise, but... well, she had to be careful not to get herself pinned.
So not only did she have to make sure she didn't tire herself out by using too much sonido or cero at once, but she had to watch her footing, and keep them back and it was just a really big pain. At least Castiel was kicking ass so she didn't have to worry about it - but she had the feeling he might try to step in if she messed up, and she didn't want some weird angel who was a total stranger saving her ass.
Still, she was holding them off! The iron bar really helped. Her own natural strength meant she did a lot of damage with it - especially when some of the demons didn't have a weapon to block with. But now she was facing some asshole with two long knives, who kept trapping the bar before she could cave his head in. Practically growling with irritation, eventually she just gave up on hitting him with the bar and kicked out at his knee instead. He lurched, and she brought the bar free and smashed it into him, panting a little.
Why were there so many of them? Fucking demons.
"Kill them faster, asshole!" she called out, hoping Castiel could actually do that. She was getting tired, and... she really didn't want to admit that, let alone that she might need help if this kept up.

One of the demons rushed Castiel, holding a large knife. The angel reached out a hand, took hold of his knife and generated an intense heat. The blade turned red hot and slowly began to melt. As soon as it was malleable enough, Castiel snapped it in half and knocked the demon right off of his feet with a telekinetic push. Castiel put his foot on the demon and exorcised him. But, it seemed that with each demon he killed, two more sprouted in it's place. At least neither he nor Lilynette were overwhelmed... at least not yet.
Castiel shoved his blade into an oncoming demon, spun around and threw him into another. He had hoped that Lilynette would be faring as well as he was, but her words made him wonder. He needed to go faster, if only to keep Lilynette from being killed... or worse. Demons were not known for their mercy, even when dealing with children. Castiel quickly blocked two slashes from a demon's knife before driving his blade straight into enemy's throat. Moments after, a demon managed to sneak up behind him and kick him. Castiel lost balance and fell. In another moment, he was right back up. The demon he was facing had a large vessel, and seemed to be one of the more powerful ones.
Just as he was saying that, the demon's eyes flickered. Instead of the normal black, his eyes were blank white. White-eyed demons were incredibly powerful, and were capable of facing angels. Castiel, as a seraph, held power greater than his but still... had this been a trap? Would Lucifer place a white eyed demon somewhere so public for any other reason? The demon lurched forward and grabbed Castiel. A moment later, Castiel had been brutally pressed against the nearest wall, unable to do any more than struggle, due to the way the demon was restraining him.
The demon made a mistake. He briefly shifted his hold on the angel to grab his weapon. Castiel took the opportunity to break free and send the demon flying across the room with a telekinetic push. Most of the demons were dead now, leaving only this white-eyed one and a few others. Castiel took his angel blade in hand and waited for retaliation. The demon stood and used his own telekinesis to drag Castiel towards him. The angel was prepared for this. Castiel put his blade forward at the last moment and stabbed the demon in the chest. In the demon's brief moment of surprise, Castiel reached forward with both hands and exorcised him.

Hey, had the angel actually fallen? What a pain in the ass - Lilynette turned to look, and in that moment, a demon decided to try and pick her up by the neck. There was a second where she almost panicked - almost, but she'd been in fights before. Hell, she'd died before, and having someone choke her didn't compare to the fear she'd felt then.
Fuck, the grip was breaking through her hierro. She writhed, clawing at the hands around her neck, but kicking out at random wasn't doing much to dissuade him - so she ignored the pain and charged a cero right at his face. The ensuing blaze of green light tired her out even more, but hey, he let go, and that was all that really mattered.
That knocked him down, and it let her pick up the now somewhat dented iron bar that was proving to be a mainstay. She bashed the fallen demon with it, just to make sure - no sense in turning her back on an enemy that was about to get up. And when she looked around, she saw only a few left - and the one the angel had been struggling with was dead now. Great. They made an okay team, probably, but his powers were all kinds of weird. The demons weren't that impressive either, to be honest - Starrk could have killed them just by looking at them, she was sure.
Lunging at the one of the last few without even the pretence of sonido, she smashed the vial of water into her face, and grinned as her opponent reeled away, flesh sizzling from it. So it really was some kind of acid. Or demons had the pansiest weaknesses ever. Who could get burned by water? Still breathing hard, she swung the iron bar into the closest one.
Yeah, they were almost done. And to tell the truth, it felt real nice to be on the winning side, right now.

Wrenching his bloodstained angel blade out of the final demon's chest, Castiel had to ignore the fact that the person this demon has possessed was... human. As were all the possessed people. It was nothing to think about in the heat of battle, where a wrong move could end with a gruesome death... though, it would be difficult for demons to provide him with such a death. Now that the battle was over, the only thing he could feel was a total remorse for those he had been forced to kill. Hopefully, Death would be kind to their souls and bring them to Heaven. Castiel wished the same for all who had been possessed... if only it were something that could truly happen.
With the last of the demons finished off, the angel realized that he needed to check up on his ally. It felt wrong, fighting alongside someone so young. The Winchester brothers and their friends had all been adults, mentally and physically capable of handling what stood in their way. If only the "mentally" part was a true as he wanted it to be. Castiel stepped forward, taking great care to avoid disturbing the bodies. He was being far more careful than he ever would have been before. That made him feel almost... good about himself. It was very rare for him to have feelings like that, particularly in such nigh-apocalyptic circumstances, especially since he had no idea whether his greatest friends were dead or alive...
Deciding that he needed to push those thoughts aside for the time being, Castiel stared down at the girl, his face expressing no emotion. At one point, he remembered, human emotions had felt so foreign to him.... things really had changed, hadn't they? "... Are you alright?"

They... they were done?
Lilynette looked around, trying to feel if any of them were playing dead - but none of that weird reiatsu was left, except for Castiel's. He didn't seem too banged up either, which was more than a little aggravating - she'd gotten away with more than a few scratches, and she'd have to figure out what to do to hide her injuries before she got back to Hueco Mundo. As far as Starrk knew, she was just... taking a look around.
Coming back a bit battered would really mess with that, and she didn't want to have to explain that she spent a day hanging around with something called an angel, fighting demons.
It had been pretty badass, though. And her hierro had caught most of it, so really, she had a lot to be proud of!
But the dumbass angel was looming over her with all of that concern again. Grinning up at him, she happily let the iron bar fall back to the ground. "I told you I could handle it! See? I killed some of thos fuckers, same as you! So of course I'm fine." She crossed her arms and looked up at him, daring him to challenge her on that - but then her throat twinged and she sheepishly rubbed it.
"You were... kinda cool, with that whole killing them when you touched 'em thing."
