Basic Details
Age: 14
Species: Half-Elf
Physical Appearance:
Personality:
At first, Genis Sage will come off as sarcastic, snarky, and even stuck up sometimes. Though usually only to Lloyd, he does have a tendency to flaunt his intellectual skills, even when he is doing it only to help. He is extremely smart, and a prodigy in the field of magic, although the boy is intelligent in general, and extremely so. Though he is one to come off as prideful and also one to offer a witty comment or comeback to whomever he sees fit, Genis does in fact possess a sort of inferiority complex; what he doesn't have in physical strength he tends to try and make up for with his mental prowess.
Genis thinks of himself as a coward, but in reality he is actually far from it. He feels deeply, and his love and care for those he cherishes fuels almost everything he does; not ever one to back down when someone he loves is threatened, unless, of course, it'd be more logical to, and he tries to think logically, which brings us to our next point; logic and Genis. Though Genis tries to think logically and succeeds because of his extremely high intelligence, his emotions are his true rulers. If his emotions get to high, he's prone to outbursts and other things, and logic seems to go out of the window. But, as Genis' love and care is strong, his bad emotions are as well; Genis harbours a strong prejudice against human, yet it only comes out when things are annoying him with them; his anger and hatred also run deeply, and it takes a while for Genis to recover from anger. Just like many others his age, the grey-haired mage is extremely insecure about his actions at times, but he has grown mostly out of that to become more mature and firm in holding his ground.
To sum everything up, Genis is a person like many others; he has many sides, and you'll usually see all of them. On the surface, Genis may appear to be a smart alek know it all, but when that surface is peeled back, it reveals another layer under it; though he most definitely is snarky, and a know-it-all at times, he is also someone who trusts honestly and feels deeply.

He saw their faces every night, almost, in his dreams. Raine. Lloyd. Colette, Sheena, Presea, Regal, even Zelos...and...Mithos. At the moment, a dream played in the small mage's head, making him lost in the glowing twilight realm. Taking in a deep breath, Genis awoke, his blue eyes flying open, breath being taken in fast and quick, having been startled awake by the very dream that'd kept him asleep before. "Ungh..." he groaned, clutching at his chest before finally being able to calm himself after a few more moments.
It had been days, about three days too long, that he'd arrived in this strange place. He thought he'd seen quite a few places, all over Sylvarant and Tethe'alla in his journey with Lloyd and the others, but this place....no villiage, not even the ancient elven city, which had looked exotic yet familiar from the gate, but grand, compared to it. For one, the place was sprawling, and the second thing was an almost horrid...no, scratch that, a really bad ignorance that hang over everyone! Though he hadn't heard any half-elf remarks yet, nobody had stopped to ask him anything, and any question he'd asked was taken with rolled eyes, a sarcastic remark, and a sigh. Which wasn't fair, sarcastic remarks were usually what he did!
Leaning his head against the hard wall, Genis drew his legs up to his chest, resting his chin there for who knows how long. Beside him, close enough for his fingers to snatch it up if need be, lay Phantasmagoria, whose soft dull light seemed to keep most people away from him in the rather darkened alley. Closing his eyes, the grey-haired boy saw them all again; flashes of Lloyd's broad grin, of Colette tripping...of so many other moments they'd all shared together.
"I just hope I'll be around to share another moment with them." he muttered to himself, beginning to lose hope but unwilling to admit it just yet---one of them had to find them, someone. He silently prayed to Martel for the strength to keep going, and to give whoever was looking for a bit of a speed boost.

Powers & Abilities
Being a half-elf, there is one ability that is granted to him naturally, and that is the ability to sense and gauge the mana levels in the air around him; these exude from magical objects, places, and people. Though not really a power, Genis is of the highest caliber of mage which exists in his world, and is able to cast multiple spells which harness the powers of water, ice, lightning, air, earth, and even light itself. The most powerful of these spells are:
Meteor Storm: This spell is Genis' most powerful. It calls down the very stars themselves, and causes (roughly) ten meteors to rain down upon not only the enemy, but about half a mile from where he is standing. (Note: Only ten meteors fall with each casting, and Genis can only cast this spell twice without becoming extremely weak, as it uses up much energy.)
Indignation: A powerful spell which calls upon the souls of the dead to deliver a mighty blast of lightning. Though the range is broad, it can be stepped out of. Whenever Genis' powers increase by going "over limit"---a state in which his magic becomes exponentially more powerful (it only happens if his body is hit too many times to where he's extremely weak, or if his emotions run extremely high), he is able to preform another version of this spell called "Indignation Judgement", which includes a mystic sword made up of light, infused with holy power, descending from the sky along with the lightning. He cannot do Indignation Judgement at any other time, and even in Over Limit mode it happens sporadically.
Absolute: An ice spell which causes multiple giant icicles to shoot forth from the ground to form a cage around the enemy and freezes moisture in the air around the enemy, flinging the icicles forward to stab at the enemy.
Explosion: A fire spell which causes an explosion of lava to shoot out from the ground.
Ground Dasher: Causes a crack in the ground to open and multiple hot rocks to shoot out.
Tidal Wave: Causes a swirling vortex of water to appear.
However, all of these spells take much energy, and he can only do two or three of these advanced spells in a row. And though these spells are indeed powerful, they can always miss the enemy or be interrupted---for example, if Genis is hit while charging up the spell, the spell will be broken and he will have to try and cast it again, costing more energy and possibly having a large wound. And, though very powerful, as stated, none of them mean instant death, depending on the strength of the enemy.

Main/Important Equipment
The grey-haired mage uses what's called a Kendama; he's had many of them, but right now he has the Phantasmagoria, which exudes a multitude of dreamy glowing colours each time he uses it. To use the kendama, he tosses the topper around in many various motions, as a way of focusing the incredible energy he is to harness with each incantation.
Marble's Exsphere: the Exsphere of Marble's, which makes his magic amplified. Can be removed.
Weaknesses
Psychological Flaws...
Being only fourteen, Genis is, like most his age, very indecisive. Though at first he comes off as very sarcastic and sure of himself, he is not always. He also harbours a rather deep prejudice and hatred for humans (and full-blooded elves) due to their treatment of his race, although with the help of Lloyd and his sister, Raine, he is trying to dispel that prejudice.
Physical Flaws...
Genis only stands at 4'9, and though his spells are nothing to be toyed with, he most likely doesn't cut an exactly intimidating presence. Besides that, he is actually very slow with physical reflexes and reactions, which can be cumbersome in battle. And he's, well, mortal; though half-elves have very long lifespans, he can still be killed in battle and all of that.
Other Flaws...

History....
Born to a woman named Virginia, he was raised instead by his older sister Raine, when their mother abandoned them at the Otherworldly Gate in Tethe'alla. Genis and Raine's mother had lived in Heimdall, the Elven-City in Tethe'alla, when she met and fell in love with a human man named Kloitz, who'd gone to do research in Heimdall. Because the elves did not accept half-elves, when the couple had Raine they were forced to leave the villiage. Rogue members of the Imperial Research Academy continued to pursue the family, and while on the run, Genis was born. Virginia, not wanting her children to live in this fear and running away for the rest of their lives, took them (with Kloitz) to the Gate, pushing them through into Sylvarant, the world parallel to Tethe'alla.
From that point on, Genis was raised by his older sister in a small village called Iselia. Raine went on to become the schoolteacher in the villiage, and when he was old enough, Genis attended school and met Lloyd Irving. The two of them were immediate best friends, Genis looking up to Lloyd in nearly every aspect, and the two would stay that way, accepting Colette Brunel, the Chosen One, into their group as well. Eventually, Genis one day went to the Iselia Human Ranch, a ghastly place run by equally ghastly people called the Desians, whom the town had an agreement with. He met a nice old woman there named Marble, and befriended her. Marble thought of Genis like a grandson, and Genis returned several times to give her food.
Finally, the day that the villiage had been waiting for; the day of the Oracle's arrival, comes. Genis, Lloyd, and Colette sneak out of their school to go to their villiage's temple of Martel and defeat the Desians attacking it and the priests within it. (Thanks to the help of a mysterious man named Kratos.) After the Oracle does come and receives Colette, they go home, Genis accompanying Lloyd. He takes Lloyd to the human ranch and there they see Marble about to be beaten for wandering off to speak with Genis. Their plans at a distraction goes awry, and Iselia is attacked the nect day. A horrible monster attacks them as well, and to Genis (and Lloyd's) distress, they learn that the monster is Marble. She is able to keep the ranch's leader from harming the two boys, who are then exiled from Iselia, the two of them going to meet Colette and her two guardians; Raine, and Kratos, the mysterious mercenary. Genis, at this point, wears Marble's Exsphere on his hand, which grants his magic more power. Along the way, with Colette breaking the seven seals to get to the Tower of Salvation (which she will use to ascend to Heaven and complete the world regeneration), they meet a skilled (yet unlucky) assassin named Sheena, who takes them to Tethe'alla, the world parallel to Sylvarant.
In Tethe'alla is where Genis' hatred for humans begins, as he'd never before seen such prejudice against his kind as he did there. However, on a journey to Ozette (after the party comes to include Zelos, the Chosen of Tethe'alla, Regal Bryant, Sheena Fujibayashi, and Presea Combatir), the group meets Mithos, a half elf boy that Genis immediately takes a liking to, becoming fast and very close friends with him. Though he likes the humans he's traveling with, Genis' prejudice for the humans only grows during his friendship with Mithos, and when his friend is revealed to be the fallen Angel Yggdrasil, Genis is left heart broken and confused on his own beliefs. But, his prejudice soon turned to a hatred for humans (excluding those he's traveling with), especially when they go to the city of Exire, a floating city in the sky where all of the banished elves and half-elves that are not allowed in Heimdall live. While in Exire, Genis meets his mother for the first time, but she has since gone mad at the grief of losing her children and husband that she doesn't recognize either one of them, even when they are both right in front of her, convinced that she is still pregnant with Genis and that a ragdoll is Raine. After finding out that she abandoned them only out of love and hope they would have a better life, the two go to revisit her but find that she isn't there anymore, saying that someone was chasing her and having fled.
The time comes, though, to face Mithos. Though at first tempted to betray his friends (as Zelos did) and join Mithos' side, and embrace his ideology, it is his strong bond and friendship with Lloyd that keeps him there, and lets him learn to forgive the world which has wronged him, unlike Mithos, who intends to destroy it. While on their way to the battle with Mithos, Genis supposedly sacrifices himself so Lloyd wouldn't see him shaking and being pathetic when they try to rescue Colette, and says that he's always looked up to Lloyd and has always cared for him. Rescued by Zelos, who turns out had only betrayed them to get a special Exsphere that would allow Lloyd to use the Eternal Sword, which Yggdrasil had used to split the two worlds in the first place, Lloyd and co. wanting to reunite the worlds/ Using Colette as a vessel for the Goddess Martel's spirit (Yggdrasil's sister, who nearly died during the Ancient Kharlan War), Mithos/Yggdrasil again misinterprets her words, and, casting Colette aside, his sister's conciousness now again stored, takes him and Martel to Derris-Kharlan, a giant mass of mana who's power Sylvarant and Tethe'alla have unknowingly competed for to regenerate each world. After their final battle with Mithos, Genis was taken here and landed in a very, very strange place.
