Name: Doreen Lacosta
Alias: Kamikaze
Age: 16
Species: Mutant Human
Ranking: Supervillian
Physical Appearance: Kami is rarely seen without her blue hooded blazer and goggles, specially made to glow bright white. She has a pair of blue and black flame-pattern motorcycle chaps over worn bluejeans, combat boots, and fingerless padded gloves. She likes candy for some reason or another, and can frequently be seen with a lollipop in her mouth of varying colors - its a habit of hers. People who have seen her face say she's got strawberry-blonde hair streaked with blue and eyes so blue they are neon and faintly luminescent.
Personality: Kamikaze is the kind of mutant that thinks she is the pinnacle of human evolution. Don't get me wrong, she's not cruel to normals, but she treats them with about the level of concern and interest the average person might have for a dog or a cat or other domestic animal. It's not hate, just... complete indifference for the most part. She is a thief mostly - she takes what she needs and what she wants for a living, providing for herself and for her "pets" - the White Wind gang (which is mostly comprised of people with clean criminal records - she does most of the theft and action herself while her friends drive around and put stuff she does on youtube for kicks).
Kami is a girl that likes nice things - jewelry, fancy stuff, good booze, comfortable clothes, that sort of thing. She takes these things, everything from mugging somebody on the street who mouthed off or didn't show respect (ever seen a cop get wedgied onto a statue and mugged before?) to stealing high art just because she can - and because it's a challenge. She's also a girl that likes her entertainment. While not particularly cruel, she's been known to terrorize people who irritate her (vandalize their property, terrorize them a bit, etc), express her political views in interesting - often hilarious - ways (and put the videos on youtube!), and generally do what the heck she pleases.
She loses her temper only rarely, remaining infuriatingly nonchalant in most situations, but show her someone who hurts a metahuman for being what they are, stop her from doing what she wants, or hurt her pets (god help that poor schmuck) and she snaps. She favors 'justice' of a poetical nature, and completely fails to play nice, thinking nothing of murder, torture, and/or humiliation for sufficiently nasty reasons.
More than anything, Kami loves a scrap. A good fight excites her!
Powers/Abilities:
-Kami's hobby is the guitar - don't ask me why, but there it is. Sometimes, all a lady wants to do is shred a little or wail out the blues.
-Aerokinesis is the basis of her abilities. By creating high and low pressure zones, and altering the temperature of the air around her she can exert superhuman forces of push and pull with a lot of precision. By doing this, she can remotely manipulate even quite massive objects, strike with bludgeoning or cutting force at a distance, and more.
----TK is the trick of manipulating objects at a distance. The forces she can exert are superhuman - lifting cars, knocking over trains, flipping tanks, that sort of thing. She has to be in short to medium range to do it though - any further than a couple hundred feet and she's not able to concentrate the air enough - and simple manipulations (push or pull) are stronger. Within her range, distance is irrelevant - even point blank exertions.
----As long as she's awake and able to use her powers, she creates a kind of deflective cushion of air around her body that acts like armor to soften a blow or deaden a hit. If she's expecting the attack, the armor is more effective, able to bend most attacks into missing or deaden the hit/project her backward enoguh that it won't matter.
----Object simulation with solid air is hard, but she can manage it - simple things, like a bridge or something blunt or an edge are easier. The simpler the shape, the better.
----Ballooning is the art of compressing air to be launched as an explosive projectile. This flung with her telekinesis makes for an effective attack when destruction is the goal!
----a Windstorm is easy - just make the wind go nuts all around her. It bashes and batters anything near her and drives it away. There's a trick to it, but she can sweep up and control debris around her, too.
----She can fly easily, and she's even broken the sound barrier before by creating bubbles of calm around herself.
----Sleeperhold - almost everything breathes. She can create vacuums in closed containers, and deprive a person of air to breathe so they pass out if she can manage to physically touch them.
Equipment: None besides her boss goggles and sweet guitar! That baby blue strat, with its shiny pearl fret guard and silky-smooth fret board... she had to have it. She had to buy it, in fact - there's something about guitars... they won't love you if you steal them. So she stole money to buy it instead and not one crud was given that day.
Psychological Flaws:
-She's a mutant supremist - it's difficult for her to conceive how a normal human could possibly be a threat. Course, she has a pretty well defined basis for what's normal - no powers, no suits, no special, superpowered weapons. She dies from a bullet in the brain just like anyone else, but it's inconceivable that they could get that one lucky shot.
-She doesn't treat humans like people. She treats them like animals. Socially, that's tough for most people to swallow - especailly humans!
-Kamikaze loves to fight! Sometimes, she'll lose herself in a good one and fight beyond personal safety, even to the point of being defeated or captured or arrested.
Physical Flaws:
-Kami's powers don't work in places with no air or underwater (unless there's bubbles).
-If she can't breathe, she can't use her powers.
-She's a human being - she has human frailties. Sure, she's a mutant and she has powers, but put her underwater or hold her by the throat - then tell me how dangerous she is. Get through her defenses and she bleeds just as easily as anyone else.
Other Flaws:
Brief History:
It's probably a pretty average story, as supervillains go - she was a normal kid once - most people were. She grew up in Jersey, and she was never a 'good kid' - she was scrawny, she was spunky, and she had a tendency to dissapear in the shadows of her older siblings - the cheerleaders, the football players, the clever twin brother who got straight A's - all she wanted was attention, and in the shadow of her older siblings, she did everything she could to get it - even negative attention was better than being ignored.
So she acted out - she got in fights, she drank, she partied, she stole, whatever she could do to feel alive... but it still wasn't enough. Then she just earned her parents' distrust and became a pariah of her family, a mark of shame, a black sheep among saints and scholars. She was her own bad crowd. And at fourteen... she became a mutant.
Right about there, she realized how little of a crud she actually gave - she had something that set her not only apart, but put her above the dross. She was the only in her family to "ascend" and she simply... left. She learned to use her powers by getting into every scrap she possibly could in assertion that mutants were dominant, earning her place by force. She learned to fly by jumping off of buildings, and not one crud was given. A passive aggressive girl gained a style all her own, and an innate charisma awoke inside her - a force of personality, a defiance she'd always had dormant took wing.
She heads a group of misfits and weirdos - not mutants themselves, but all-too-willing to have somebody else make the big decisions in life, to be slaves to another person's will in exchange for all their needs being provided for and not inconsiderable affection of family between the lot of them. The White Wind Gang was formed from this - they move about with Kamikaze as a sort of entourage or posse. They feed her ego, mostly, and advance her agenda of mutant supremacy through her youtube videos detailing her exploits and propaganda blurbs hacked into TV stations, radio, whatever they feel like doing. So far, it's been small-scale stuff.
