He saw their faces every night, almost, in his dreams. Raine. Lloyd. Colette, Sheena, Presea, Regal, even Zelos...and...Mithos. At the moment, a dream played in the small mage's head, making him lost in the glowing twilight realm. Taking in a deep breath, Genis awoke, his blue eyes flying open, breath being taken in fast and quick, having been startled awake by the very dream that'd kept him asleep before. "Ungh..." he groaned, clutching at his chest before finally being able to calm himself after a few more moments.
It had been days, about three days too long, that he'd arrived in this strange place. He thought he'd seen quite a few places, all over Sylvarant and Tethe'alla in his journey with Lloyd and the others, but this place....no villiage, not even the ancient elven city, which had looked exotic yet familiar from the gate, but grand, compared to it. For one, the place was sprawling, and the second thing was an almost horrid...no, scratch that, a really bad ignorance that hang over everyone! Though he hadn't heard any half-elf remarks yet, nobody had stopped to ask him anything, and any question he'd asked was taken with rolled eyes, a sarcastic remark, and a sigh. Which wasn't fair, sarcastic remarks were usually what he did!
Leaning his head against the hard wall, Genis drew his legs up to his chest, resting his chin there for who knows how long. Beside him, close enough for his fingers to snatch it up if need be, lay Phantasmagoria, whose soft dull light seemed to keep most people away from him in the rather darkened alley. Closing his eyes, the grey-haired boy saw them all again; flashes of Lloyd's broad grin, of Colette tripping...of so many other moments they'd all shared together.
"I just hope I'll be around to share another moment with them." he muttered to himself, beginning to lose hope but unwilling to admit it just yet---one of them had to find them, someone. He silently prayed to Martel for the strength to keep going, and to give whoever was looking for him a bit of a speed boost.

It had roughly been about a week since Lloyd had found himself in the strange world of "America." Everything in here was different from anything that he had ever seen before. Not even Meltokio could possibly compare to all the sights and sounds of these places. Even after so much time he still felt kind of starstruck.
A shame that he hadn't seen any of his friends yet though. According to Garchomp, the rifts brought all kinds of people here, and if he was here then his friends were more then likely also here. So it was just all a matter of waiting and patience until he saw them again. Still, he was worried, about if they were going to be okay, if the world was going to be okay. What was going to happen next?
The red clad swordsman made his way down the streets, being given a rather wide berth by everyone around him. Was his outfit strange or something? (it was a wonder that no one had called the cops on him yet for walking around in broad daylight with two swords and a clear knowledge of how to use them...)
His white scarf-like ribbons billowed in the wind. Stopping at a nearby stand, Lloyd pulled out a few pieces of the strange paper they used for currency here, and handed them over, recieving an apple in exchange. Their money was confusing, and they didn't accept Gald in exchange. But luckily, at the Inn Lloyd was now staying at, they had let him give them some of the gald in exchange for money. He could stay there as long as he made up for it in labour. Not a bad deal!
Crunching into the soft flesh of the apple, Lloyd grinned. At least the apples tasted the same-- delicious and healthy. He used to love going apple picking with Genis and Colette when they were kids... There was an apple tree just outside the village that the three of them would always raid bef.ore school started.
It was nice to remember happy memories! Soon he would be reunited with his friends, he was certain of it!

They say that sometimes, things just happen. Like when you just happen to let your eyes wander. And then, they just happen to fall onto the ground, and right in that moment, as a breath passes from his lips, a pair on unmistakable red boots came into view. And, it'd just so happened you'd given a little prayer beforehand. Eyes widening, Genis' back straightened up against the wall as his eyes traveled upwards, and now there was definitely no mistaking it was Lloyd--his face, or enough of it anyways, was able to be seen. Eyes transfixed, the mage stood up fully on his two feet, silver hair shifting around as he did, falling almost, because his knees were a bit weak. "L-lloyd..." the word formed on his lips silently, before he finally snapped out of it and dashed the few steps out of the alleyway, his friend already walking away. "Lloyd!" he called out again, louder this time. He made sure his voice was able to be carried, even in the rather loud racket of the city. Feet pounding on the ground as he ran, albeit his best friend wasn't that far away, he just...he needed to make sure he was really here. That the bright redness of those clothes, and the white tassels that billowed behind him weren't just some product of his imagination. He silently prayed to Martel again. "Please let it be real!"

[LAZIEST HALF-ASLEEP POST EVER GO]
He wasn't really paying attention to what was going on around himself. There was so many people in this place-- it wasn't aything like home at all. They crowded the streets like nothing that Lloyd had ever seen before, in an absolute tidal wave of people. Where did they all come from? Not even the busest city that Lloyd had been to before had this many people in such a crowded area. How did one get used to it? The smells around himself were overwhelming too. Bad smells, nice smells, food smells, people smells-- it was just never ending.
The red clad swordsman crunched down on his apple thoughtfully. The taste was different from the apples back home. It was less sweet, and there was something not quite... natural about it that Lloyd couldn't put his finger on. The skin of the apple felt almost dusty and there was a faint sensation of a wax-like substance on it. Not even trying to wash the apple or scrubbing it had done much to get rid of it. But it was still an apple and although it was not as fresh and crunchy as the apples back home, it still tasted good. He'd been quite hungry and that made it taste better too.
Lloyd was utterly obvlivious to his friend dashing out of the alleyway at the moment, which was actually really ironic because he was just then thinking of a way to try and find his frieds, so that they could reunite. He wasn't really worried about their safety-- after all the young man knew full well that they were fully capable of taking care of themselves and that if anything happened, they'd do just fine. But he would still feel better if they were all together. It wouldn't be bad to have company through this strange situation too, after all.
Fortunately for Genis, since that fateful day, Lloyd's psyiology had changed. His senses had all heightened to startling amounts-- even in all of the daily clamour of the city he could still hear the sound of one young half elf's voice calling out his name. Eyes widened in recogition, and he immediately stopped, spinning around. People nearly bumped into him, said a few choices words, but Lloyd ignored that. "Genis!" He shouted, eyes picking out the silver mane of hair. What luck! What coincidental luck! "You're here!?" A wide grin broke out over his features and he ran towards his friend.

His feet sped up as soon as he heard Lloyd's voice call out his name, and he didn't stop, even when he bumped into a couple people himself, a grin wide on his face. It seemed like it was taking forever as they ran towards one another, like the small mage's feet slapped against the ground for hours before he finally propelled himself forward and into Lloyd, wrapping arms around his waist with a wide grin. "Of course I'm here!" he said, a laugh in his voice---Genis hadn't always been one for being all over people, but after not seeing Lloyd (or anyone he knew) for three days, that was apt to change. And, suddenly, the lonely streets full of strangers changed for him. At feeling that his friend was real, was physically right here and right and front of him, this strange city or world, whatever it was, became something new entirely. Around him, the city's clamour became almost like music, and the passing voices like some sort of not-so-celestial choir. Taking a few moments that felt like an eternity to enjoy it, he gave Lloyd a squeeze and laughed, a genuine, happy laugh. It only served to bring more stares towards the oddly-dressed (to these people, anyways) pair, but the half-elf wasn't even close to minding that at all---because Lloyd was here, and if Lloyd was here than so was everyone else, they just had to be! But, for a while, it would just be the two of them. Genis' chest fluttered with an almost sort of rightness at the thought of it; their journey of Regeneration had started with just the two of them, and this new one starting the same way was how it should be. "I-I can't believe you're here! Or, well, that I found you so fast!" he exclaimed, grinning from ear to ear; of course, three days wasn't that fast. But, hey, it was sure faster than it could have been, right? "Have you seen anyone else?" he asked, though he wouldn't be surprised at all if Lloyd said he hadn't---this city was almost like three cities it was so big. And besides, finding them together might be more fun.

This was great, this was amazing! The brunette haired young man gave a joyous laugh, hugging onto the smaller frame; Genis had been his friend ever since he was a child and the two of them shared a close bond; they were like brothers. So it was a wonderful feeling that the two of them could be reunited after such a long time apart, even if it was under such strange circumstances.
"I'm a little surprised that we found each other like this!" He proclaimed with a grin, letting his friend go. This was an enormous city; an entirely different world. Even back in Symphonia it had been a good week or so since Lloyd had last seen any of his friends. But he wasn't complaining at all-- this was simply wonderful! Lloyd laughed, not caring about the people staring at them like they were insane.
"This New York City is a big place!" Lloyd glanced around the two of them, at all of the strange sights, sounds, the people, the looming skyscrapers so unlike anything that he'd ever seen before. "So many people in so small a space! It's really hard to get used to." Even back in Tethe'alla there hadn't been anything close to being like this. It was just plain crazy!
"Have you seen anyone else?"
Lloyd shook his head. "Not yet." He paused, a bit sad when he thought about Colette and the others, their whereabouts and safety unknown. But he cheered up quickly. "But I know that we'll be able to find them sooner or later! We can look for them together; we're bound to come across them eventually right?"
