Gilgamesh is a very odd being. He is boastful yet he runs from a fight before he is defeated. He has a habit of yelling, loudly at people challenging them to a fight. Usually he challenges anyone with a sword be it a blacksmith or a king, Gilgamesh always seeks combat. In combat Gilgamesh tends to be honorable. He does not use his rift powers in combat unless it’s to summon forth swords for him to use from the void. He cares a great deal for honor and knowing when to and when not to fight but he usually ignores those feelings allowing the moment to take it’s course.
Gilgamesh has a softer spot for kids, anyone under the age of ten, to Gilgamesh aren’t fit to fight so he usually gives them a wooden sword to train with to become as powerful as him one day. However to Gilgamesh anyone over the age of twelve are fair game to fight in combat and he doesn’t hold back in those types of combat situations. Gilgamesh also considers everyone his ally, who he duels anyway. Even if they defeat him, or vice verse Gilgamesh will still treat them as a friend often telling others of his friendship. However his friendships are second best to swords!
Despite appearing as a villain in many Final Fantasys, Gilgamesh isn’t evil at all! He may be a bit chaotic, attacking anyone with a sword that interests him. However he chooses to aid people, if he’s defeated them of if he’s been defeated. Despite being cowardly and running and then boasting that he did indeed one or that person is an equal, he often returns to say hello, sit down for a cup of tea, and maybe another fight. Gilgamesh doesn’t hold grudges, even if it’s the worse person alive, if he doesn’t know them personally he doesn’t trust what others say about that person.

In Character RP Sample
All was quiet until, BOOM, out plopped a giant, well an eight armed giant at that! His cloak flapped a bit at the surge of power he came in. He stretched his eight arms and looked about, of course people were looking at the giant. but of course they had to look at him for he... he was the MIGHTY GILGAMESH. He placed his hands onto his hips as the six others preceded to grow back into his back. He looked about, his pompom on his head gear swishing slightly, he raised an eyebrow at a little girl, he opened a rift and pulled out a wooden sword. "Here! Take this and train with it! AS though you might become as mighty as GILGAMESH, THE RULER OF THE VOID, SWORDS AND EVERYTHING ELSE UNDER MY DOMAIN THE GREATEST SWORDSMEN IN ALL OF THE UNIVERSE" He snickered slightly as the girl took the weapon and ran off with it, oh this was going to be a good day.
Wherever he was it seemed like a decent place, aside from the fact that it appeared to have more axes then swords. So! They were a viking village! No matter, what do vikings have? THEY HAVE GREAT BEER! Yes that is what they had and they had great meat as well. But no matter! He would treat himself while he was here, and perhaps he would hear something about the legendary sword, who knows this place might be the place! Though he didn't fit in, red cloak, red mask, pompom, and poka dot pants! He was truly an odd sight in the barbaric town! Though, the eight arm giant didn't mind at all, he was always weird, but to himself, everyone else was weird and he was the only normal person alive, but it would be different if his tribe wasn't killed off! If they were still around then he could probably be with normal people, but alas it was too late for that.
The giant then entered a tavern, travelers could always be seen on one of these places! He might even meet the traveler that wielded the legendary sword! But it would be odd considering that only he, the might gilgamesh, could even touch the sword, the sword of legend! No one would be able to even set eyes onto the blade it was so great, and this realm seemed to be filled with mortals, MORTALS COULD NOT DO WHAT HE COULD DO, NO ONE CAN, OR HE WAS GILGAMESH, MASTER OF ALL SWORDS.Though he kept walking, a kick in his step as he moved. As he moved though, something caught his eye, but it had caught his nose first, it was a sword! Yes a sword in it's sheath, judging by how polished the handle and sheath were it was a truly cared for sword! This could be the one! Six arms grew from the giants back and each were suddenly donned with swords, long swords, claymores, katanas and so forth! He pointed a claymore at the man's neck and began to speak in a loud voice. "I AM THE MIGHT GILGAMESH, TRAVELER OF THE VOID, SEARCHING FOR THE LEGENDARY SWORD, UNHAND YOUR WEAPON TO ME AND YOU MIGHT SURVIVE MORTAL!" Oh how he enjoyed doing that, the great feeling of having someone's neck against your blade!
Unknown to gilgamesh at the time, the man had buddies, five or so, each one had an axe! So he must of been the leader! The man with the sword! So six in total, no problem! Whatever and whoever fought with him would be in a jumble of pain by the time he finished them off! They would stand no chance! None at all! Then the first charged at him, he jumped quickly to the side and slashed the man on the arm, causing him to drop the axe! Gilgamesh then planted a foot on the man's behind and kicked him into barrels of mead!He then jumped as two men charged at him, so they crashed into each other, dazing themselves and sending themselves crashing into the floor. Gilgamesh then landed, a foot on each or their heads, he then bounced off and tackled the other axe man, and then POW gilgamesh socked him in the face!
But then he felt cold steel against his neck he quickly knocked the blade away and shouted "TRICE SLICE!"

Powers & Abilities
Death Claw: Gilgamesh strikes in an X position which makes him move forward during the attack, dodging blows that may come his way.
Hurricane: Gilgamesh precedes to strike quickly at an opponent, launching them high into the air.
Tsubamegaeshi: After preforming hurricane Gilgamesh slashes at an opponent and then begins to quickly deal a fury of strikes which sends the effected one into the ground with great force.
Trice Slice: Gilgamesh quickly strikes an enemy three times, tripling the normal damage done to them.
Jump: Gilgamesh launches himself into the air and comes down in a headbutting position, dealing damage to those under him.
Sword dance: Gilgamesh strikes at a target, if the attack lands then he quickly preforms a fury of quick strikes.
Magical Abilities
Shell: Gilgamesh knows the spell, shell, this ability gives slight protection over magic damage:
Protect: Gilgamesh can use the spell protect which defends from physical attacks, only slightly though.
Haste: Gilgamesh can speed up his attacks with haste, only a slight increase in speed though.
Electrocute: Gilgamesh calls down a lighting bolt onto a target which also electrocutes the surrounding area.
Wind slash: Gilgamesh fires a slash of cutting wind at a person, equaling a sword strike, this attack has a mid-ranged range.
Ultimate Illusion: Gilgamesh launches himself into the air with magical energies charged around him, he then slams his swords into the ground causing pillars of non-elemental magic to shoot up from the ground, he also "teleports" behind the person he is fighting with during this attack.
Perfect defense: Gilgamesh readies the spell Perfect defense, which does the normal protect, shell and haste, but it also adds Null shock, Null Freeze, Null Blaze, and Null Tide. Null-Shock nullifies one lighting based spell, null freeze nullifies one ice spell, null blaze nullifies one fire spell and null tide nullifies one water spell.
Random Powers
Rift: Gilgamesh can cause rifts in worlds after being sent to the Rift, he uses this ability to go to other lands, searching for the Legendary Sword of his tribe. He can use this rifts as well as he can swing a sword. Though he doesn’t use them to fight, aside from summoning his massive amount of swords, even then he doesn’t do it to directly attack.
Flight: Gilgamesh has shown the limited ability to fly as seen in Final Fantasy 12.
Immortal: Gilgamesh is bound to The Rift making him immortal!
It's Morphing Time!: Usually Gilgamesh is seen with only two arms, but he cna shout It's Morphing Time and his eight arms appear, this makes his own fighting style with the eight sword!

Main/Important Equipment
Gilgamesh has hundreds of swords, the notable ones are listed below.
Buster Sword: A copy of the notable buster sword of cloud's, though it is smaller in size. It also has the kanji for "replica" on the side.
Brotherhood: A replica of Tidus' sword though id id not enchanted with abilities that the regular brotherhood is enchanted with. It also has a chocobo feather key chain at the bottom of the hilt.
Revolver: A replica of Squall's Gunblade which has a chocobo picture on the side of the blade. Though the gunblade is weaker and does not fire bullets like Squall's gunblade it does however in any way shape and form match Squall's weapon.
Excalipoor: An extremely weak replica of the Excalibur, it's praticall useless to have in battle.
Tournsel: One of gilgamesh's stronger sword, this blade is a claymore and is often called the sunflower blade because of it's looks, aside from that it is a normal weapon.
Oricalcum dagger: Gilgamesh's only dagger, this blade is like most daggers in appearance but it's much more durable and stronger then normal daggers, it's mainly used as a blocking weapon though.
Zantetsuken: Zantetsuken is a curved scimitar, either with a blue blade or a blue aura.
Wyrmhero Blade: This is a greatsword which is a powerful weapon. It seems to make a strange, legendary sword when it is used on an enemy.

Over confident: Gilgamesh is a bit too confident in his fighting abilities getting him in trouble.
Sword sword swords!: Gilgamesh seeks to steal every sword ever made getting him into fight with very powerful foes.
Coward: Despite being Boastful Gilgamesh runs from fights before he is defeated.
Kids: Gilgamesh has a soft spot for kids, anyone under the age of ten by Gilgamesh’s standards is too young to fight and he couldn’t defend himself or attack if a kid attacked him, however teens, adults, etc are fair game!
Friendly: Gilgamesh has a habit of being friendly, even if a person hates Gilgamesh, Gilgamesh will be chummy opening him up to be attacked. Gilgamesh also helps as much people as he can out eve if he defeats them, he doesn’t hold a grudge!
Evil?!: Gilgamesh sometimes can be naïve and sides with an evil person to do evil things for a promised sword, which can make Gilgamesh both wanted and be used by that person.
Physical Flaws...
Size: Gilgamesh is over seven feet tall making him hard to miss.
Bulky: Gilgamesh is extremely bulky making it hard for him to move in tight areas.
Pain: Gilgamesh was blown up at one point and still remembers that pain so he’s not immune to it!

The Rift: The Rift steals Gilgamesh from combat if he uses too much power or if he attempts to use his hidden powers.
Magic power: Gilgamesh is a physical powerhouse, while he does have magic he isn’t too well versed with said magic making his magic fairly weak.
Wtf is that?!: Gilgamesh has no idea what a gun is, so he dosn't have much of a defense against them

History....
Before Final Fantasy 5
Gilgamesh was born to a tribe of elite warriors called the Genji. These warriors for revered for their power, but not only were they powerful, they were a proud race. After every decade or so they would hold a tourney for the legendary sword of the Genji, or the Excalibur. Now to train for the Excalibur the Genji youth were sent to the wilderness to survive on their own for a certain amount of months, all they had were the cloths on their back. Gilgamesh was also sent to the wilderness to train. In the wilderness harsh extremities were pushed onto the youth, bears, rhinos, so on and so forth. Gilgamesh’s love for weapons had quickly made him able to survive, crafting a spear out of wood and stone lead to him being able to kill a bear and which in turn made him a coat for the winter and meat to survive off of.
During this time unknown to Gilgamesh, a powerful being attacked the genji. This powerful being was called Exdeath. Now Exdeath slaughters the Genji without relent. This being unknown to Gilgamesh he arrived back at the Genji village to the horror of his village being destroyed. Wanting to avenge his Tribe Gilgamesh went to the sacred vaults and donned the ancient armor of the genji, hardened with blood, sweat and dust. Not seeing the legendary sword Gilgamesh had vowed to obtain the sword at any cost. After these events Exdeath returned and convinced Gilgamesh that he knew who killed the village and if Gilgamesh served as his right hand man he would gain the power and knowledge to destroy the man who destroyed the genji. Being convinced Gilgamesh agreed, not knowing it was Exdeath that killed the Genji.
Final Fantasy 5:
Gilgamesh was first seen ordering the imprisonment of Bartz and his gang. Though a man named Galuf was forced to free Bartz and the others. After easily defeating Gilgamesh, Gilgamesh ran away, of course making an excuse to why he ran away, and Galuf freed the prisoners. But Gilgamesh is then forced to fight the party again on the Big Bridge, making the battle, Clash on the Big Bridge. Despite casting haste, protect and shell Gilgamesh is still defeated. And again he makes an excuse and runs off.
Gilgamesh is seen once again making a third attack on the party to defend the barriers surrounding Exdeath’s fortress. He arrives on a ship along with a creature named Enkidu. After trying to throw Galuf into the ocean after being defeated, Gilgamesh is thrown into the Ocean as opposed to Galuf being thrown in. He then begins swearing his revenge at the part and proceeds to swim off.
His next appearance is in Castle Exdeath after the party enters. After taking a weapon from a chest, which he believes to be the Excalibur, which turns out to be the excalipoor, a weak weapon. Gilgamesh then morphs into his true form, hoping to have an edge with the weapon he gained from the chest Gilgamesh attacks the party, but is unable to do damage to them, seeing how weak the excalipoor is. He is then defeated again. After hearing this Exdeath becomes enraged and banishes Gilgamesh to the void.
In the void Gilgamesh is forced to fight monster after monster, tiring him. But because of his long time spent in the void he gains the ability to control the void. Now the next time he attacks monsters after this it is actually Bartz and his party, though Gilgamesh attacked them confusing them as monsters he quickly recognizes the party and admits that he has changed. He wants to leave the void and return home, but he learns he cannot do this. They then depart, the party continuing into the void and Gilgamesh remained put.
But when he hears their battle with Necrophobe he rushes to join the party to help them fight. He arrives to help defeat the monster and actually is the one that does defeat the creature, because the party had already weakened it quite a bit he was able to not have to kill himself. The fact he can now use the void as his own personal toy he begins to scour the worlds, hoping to find the legendary sword of his clan, with a new up burst of energy.
His main goal for travelling the void to find the sword of his clan is to avenge it and to become a mighty warrior of the Genji! To complete his training and finally becoming a man in the aspects of his tribe.
