These... 'SCPs' were running amok all over the planet - at least, that's what Sebastian had told Ciel that morning, when he'd been told what he would be doing that day. Apparently, he was being told to look into the recently-escaped SCPs and, if possible, detain them. It seemed like it would be extraordinarily difficult, considering what information he was given about some of the SCPs. All he had was hastily written notes, none of which were written with particularly good handwriting, on certain SCPs. All of them were rather... foreboding, to say the least, with "DATA EXPUNGED" and exempt names being common, leading to things being very... vague, to say the least. But, it would be enough for them to find at least one or two of them.
...Or, perhaps, it would be, if it weren't for the fact that locations were excluded from the documents. Try as he might, Sebastian couldn't find a single clue hinting at where the SCPs were. This was, of course, frustrating for the Earl and his Butler. How were they supposed to find these things if they had nowhere to look? Well, at any rate, they had to look for something and it wasn't particularly hard to find a corroded man or a massive reptile. There was, however, no sign of either SCP as the two strode down a rainy Londan street. It was surprisingly deserted, especially considering that it was usually highly populated.
Their first clue that something was nearby as what first appeared to be a body, but turned out to be a man in extreme pain. He was twitching slightly, his eyes showing pure pain and, oddly enough, rage. Ciel stared blankly down at the man. "What happened here?" Ciel asked the man, keeping a close eye on him in case he attacked. "I.... I needed to kill her... I need to..." The man whispered, reaching a twitching hand up to grab Ciel's coat. Sebastian quickly stepped on his hand, keeping him from even coming close to touching Ciel. "I believe it's clear we'll get no information out of this man. Shall we carry on, my lord?" Sebastian asked, taking his foot off of the man's hand.
Ciel stared down at the man for a brief moment. "... Yes. We have to find whatever did this." The two continued walking. They turned a corner, only to find what may very well have been the culprit....

This place was boring.
Abby had thought she could have fun with so many people, but they didn't seem to be paying much attention! She had tried talking to a lot of people and asking where she was - since they didn't look like the doctors she knew - but after a while they stopped wanting to talk, and then she got bored and kept going. Maybe it was because they were all grown ups that had to... work, and do important things!
Her mommy and daddy weren't here, or they would have told here where this was. The doctors never talked much but maybe they would have brought the lizard here. He had always talked to her, and even let her draw on his skin.
But he wasn't here, and she was really bored. Splashing into a puddle, she kicked the water around for a bit, and then looked around for a bigger one to jump into - but then she saw people coming. Maybe they were less busy - and one looked younger, which meant maybe he'd want to play with her! Smiling, she waded back out of the puddle and ran towards them.
"Hello! Where is this? Do you want to play with me?" she asked, bouncing a little. They would pay attention to her, right?

... Or, perhaps not. Instead of the sort of creature Ciel usually dealt with, he now found himself face-to-face with... a little girl, who seemed insistent on playing with him. Ciel scowled, taking a step back to avoid the girl. If there were two things Ciel wanted to avoid, it was being touched and playing with little girls. Sebastian, on the other hand, was indifferent... although, it was a tad perplexing that this girl wasn't as normal as she seemed. Could it be that she was the cause of this? The wounded man had, after all, referred to whatever had hurt him as "she"....
Ciel stopped himself from stepping back again, straightened up and stared disapprovingly down at the girl. She appeared to be overwhelmingly average, at first - in fact, she looked quite like a normal child, though... there was something off about her. It took Ciel a moment to realize that his demonic nature had kicked in, giving him a strange feeling about this child. Could it be that she was the reason that man was so badly hurt? If so... Ciel only wanted to get away from her more. "No." Ciel replied simply, trying to hold back his irritation.
"My lord," Sebastian began, taking his eyes off of the girl and turning them to his master. "Perhaps we should consider that this is the cause of our... dilemma. She does seem quite non-human." It was said quietly, so the girl wouldn't hear them. Ciel had, of course, been thinking the same thing. "... Do you happen to know what happened here, or to that man around the corner?" Ciel asked, keeping his words somewhat simple. It was so difficult, speaking to young children.

"Here?" she repeated, wondering what he meant. Nothing had happened, of course! There hadn't been any doctors or anything. But when he mentioned the corner, she frowned. That street did have a lot of people, and they had all been so rude. It wasn't that hard to tell her, right? She just wanted to know where she was....
Maybe the doctors would have told her, but they had white coats, and everyone here wore dark ones, or suits, or other fancy things. Even these two looked fancy - prettier than her, maybe! And they didn't look very nice - even the younger boy wasn't smiling at all as he talked. She felt her own smile waver just a little. Had she done something wrong? Were they mad at her?
"I was asking a man where I was. But he was busy and didn't want to talk, so I left!" And then, because maybe they would want to know this too, she added, "Then I went and played in the puddles!" Abby gestured to the evidence of her activities, sure that this would explain everything to him.
"I keep talking to people but they're all busy... I just... wanted t'know..." she mumbled, more and more certain that someone had gotten angry at her for interrupting and told on her to these two people. "Do you know where this is?" she asked at last, a bit quieter.

It seemed obvious to Ciel that the girl was talking about the wounded man he'd seen. His butler thought the very same thing, and both of them came to the same problem - how did he get so badly wounded? The man looked as though he'd been brutalized... but without any actual sign of physical wound. Now that Ciel thought about it, he realized that the man they'd seen had indeed been sprawled out on the ground, limbs twisted in horrible positions and moaning in utter agony... but yet, there was no blood, no cuts on the mans body whatsoever... and, from the looks of it, not even a single bruise. It looked as though his body had suddenly undergone this terrible trauma without any cause... but there had to be some reason for it.
As Ciel directed his attention to the girl once again, he suddenly felt... something. In the very back of his mind he felt something he'd never felt before, at least not without reason... it was a sudden, gnawing sensation, a sensation that made this young girl send chills down his spine. In that very moment, both the Earl and his butler has the immediate feeling that the small girl in front of them was wrong and needed to be destroyed. For the first time in many years, Sebastian was... surprised. The urge to destroy and kill that was native to all demons had been repressed by his contract... it was almost refreshing, feeling it once again. Ciel, on the other hand, had an entirely different thought.
"Sebastian," Ciel began, narrowing his eyes at the girl. "This is an order. Don't attack this girl, no matter what I order." It was blunt, and quick - two things that were shockingly uncommon in Ciel Phantomhive. Nonetheless, Sebastian gave his master a short bow. "Yes, my lord." He replied, his voice unwavering. Ciel The reason for his bluntness was that the urge was getting stronger and stronger, and Ciel could recognize it as something that shouldn't have been there. Among his confusion, the thought dawned on him... what if this girl was the very SCP he was searching for? Perhaps this had something to do with why the man was attacked?
Sebastian, however, had a contract to uphold... he could not attack this girl, no matter how strong the urge was. That was one of the very few benefits of a Faustian Contract...

These people were just like the rest! The boy had talked to her at first, but now they were ignoring her like everyone else, talking to each other. Had they even heard her? Maybe she wasn't being loud enough?
Or maybe everyone was mean and gross, like the lizard always said. He had said it about the doctors, all the time - that they were gross and... disgusting, and bigger words she couldn't remember. Abby missed him, though. He always talked to her, and he was so big that she could sit on his back, and ride around. The doctors hadn't let her do that, though... but maybe if she saw him again, she could now!
It was easy to let her attention wander. They weren't even saying anything now, but when she looked up again, they were still both looking at her. "Mmm... why d'you say that?" she asked, pointing at the taller man. "That... my lord! What's a lord? And why is he listening to you? You're a kid!" Adults never listened to kids. Even the doctors didn't - they just asked silly questions sometimes, but that wasn't the same as listening. But thinking of them reminded her of the number they called her.
"Are you from that place too? With the doctors and the numbers?" And then, belatedly - "Oh, I'm Abby! I forgot to say!"

Every word the girl said suddenly began to irritate Ciel, whose face showed visible anger. His mouth was curled downward into a frown, his eyes narrowed and his fists clenched. It was taking every last bit of restraint he had to not attack the girl - and even that wouldn't be enough for much longer. Ciel's grip on the sapphire head of his cane tightened as he glared down at the girl, who was rambling on about adults or some nonsense. Ciel realized that he needed to get out of there, but... he couldn't. He felt the absolute need to kill this girl, or at least do some sort of damage to her. Ciel took a step forward, beginning to lift his cane... Suddenly, Ciel felt Sebastian grab him by the shoulder and hold him back.
"My lord, it is expected of an Earl to be polite to every one of his guests." Sebastian said, smiling pleasantly. He, too, felt the urge to kill the girl... but he had been ordered to restrain it, and so restrain it he would. "Please excuse my lord's behavior, he has had quite the long, tiring day already... I believe I shall answer the questions for you." The butler realized that he needed to keep Ciel from attacking the girl - lest he risk breaking his own contract. "To start with, I am what is called a butler. I take care of Earl Ciel Phantomhive, one with considerable power due to his family's title," Sebastian gestured to Ciel, ensuring that she knew who he was referring to. "As well as taking care of his grounds, ensuring that his other servants do their jobs properly and generally taking care of his estate at large."
That place with the doctors? Sebastian's face showed known of his confusion, though he had something of a theory... "numbers" could obviously refer to the numbers designated to SCPs, and scientists were certainly a part of their facility. The effect this girl was having on his master (and, of course, him as well) could have been due to her being an SCP. It made perfect sense. Ciel, on the other hand, was very nearly quite done with rational thoughts. He could only think of killing the girl in front of him. He was, however, restrained by Sebastian, who was ensuring that he keep his noble demeanor as best as he could. It would be rather unsightly to find the Earl Phantomhive bent out of shape like that man around the corner, after all. "Neither the Earl Phantomhive nor I are from anywhere with numbers or doctors. Why do you ask?"

The kid was just too quiet. Even if he was older than her, he should have wanted to... play, or talk, or something! But he wasn't doing anything, and the man was, so she looked up at him, shifting a little. It wasn't really cold, but it was wet, and standing still wasn't fun. There were better things to do than talk! They could play tag, or hide and seek, or splash around in puddles... but they didn't look like they would want to do that.
The man was nice though. She smiled up at him more easily now, feeling better.
"So he's an earl.... That's important!" She didn't quite know what it meant, but it was like mister or doctor, right? The way the man said it made it sound like something big, at least, so she could ask someone what it meant later. The lizard would know, but she didn't know when she'd find him.
Then he asked why she asked - after explaining, which was nice! None of the doctors explained things. "Uh... I asked 'cause... you seem different! I thought the eye thing was because you were from there too." The logic made sense to her - there were people with strange things with their eyes back there, she remembered. "And... the people there talked to me, not like people here. They're rude and mean!"

"It is very important, indeed.." Sebastian was merely stalling now, while he thought of a way out of this scenario. Of course, he could simply walk away, taking his master with him... but, Ciel was supposed to be searching for and detaining SCPs. It was highly likely that this girl was one of them, so it presented the two with a dilemma... one that only Sebastian was considering, while Ciel attempted to restrain himself from flying into a violent rage. Feelings like this were quite uncommon in Ciel - even if he were upset, his first reaction usually wasn't violence, at least not of his own doing. He usually had Sebastian deal with the problem... But, this girl had managed to bring out something violent in him, seemingly without doing anything at all.
In fact, the more the girl spoke the more it seemed as though she were one of the SCPs the two were searching for. It was difficult to discern, due to her being a young girl and not knowing much about her surroundings... She could easily be referring to the SCP Foundation's holding areas or, perhaps, a simple hospital. There were doctors there, of course, and those doctors did talk about numbers. In the eyes of a child, they would hardly have any difference. The only thing that made Sebastian think she was an SCP was the effect she gave both of them... and even then, it was hardly proof. "Oh?" Sebastian asked, searching for more information. "What sort of people are you talking about? What did they say to you?"

Yes... he really couldn't be from that place - not if he didn't know anyone. "Um... there were doctors, but they just asked questions. They stayed away all the time, 'xcept for food and if I wanted paper! Or crayons. I liked drawing there! I drew the lizard lots of times, but he keeps changing..." That had been one of the things that always confused her - he would have more legs, or eyes, or something would change. How could she draw him if he didn't stay still like other people?
Still, even if she had thought he was scary once, she would have liked seeing him now. This place wasn't as gross as he said everything was... but it still wasn't nice.
"But there was the lizard - he was nice! He always talked with me, and I drew for him. He said everyone else was bad. Um... and he told me there were other kids too! But... the doctors said we couldn't see them." The doctors had never made sense, really. They gave her everything she asked for in those weird big suits, so she couldn't see their faces, or they only came to ask two or three questions and leave.
Accepting that only the man really wanted to talk to her, she smiled up at him. "You ask so many questions... like the doctors! But you're nicer."
