It's the Great Pumpkin... RUN!!!

My Life is simple most of the time. I see problems I fix them. At least... it used to be simple

There are many things in the world, some wonderful, some things of utter terror. Many times it is easy to tell which is which but sometimes the demoness who harvests organs can turn out to be the angel you were looking for, and others... your newest nightmares will involve a pumpkin patch... and the world's biggest pumpkin.

"Now I have to be not just the exterminator... but a doctor... I have to stop and find out how far the rot goes before I can remove it."

Okay enough with the dramatic times. Basically this is going to be a story enjoying one of what I think is the most interesting things from the SCP site. SCP-097. www.scp-wiki.net/scp-097 It is an intense read but in some ways on a moral level it offends me... something that prays on children always does.. thus this thread.

There are so many potential stories we could do with this. So many ways we could go. I am asking for experienced rule players I am willing to take on two to four as long as people intend to post regularly. This should be fun and interesting but a few things to keep in mind and some restrictions on characters.

1. This is a story of mortals. More of less regular folk... okay we can really REALLY stretch the definition of 'regular' folk here... but this is not a story of super heroes that can throw buses, this is not a thread for the Justice League, or characters that can catch bullets in their teeth, or things like that. A bit beyond human is fine. I am using a monster hunter with a few TK abilities for my character but keep in mind. You stab him he will still bleed out if you hit him in the normal 'right' places. The invulnerable or those that would not worry about what SCP-097 can bring to bear need not apply.

2. This may very will be slow going. Might be a long lasting thread. I intent this to involve more then just the patch but also the nearby town. Several trips to the patch, several trips to town. Where this will go even i am not entirely sure... but should be fun to find out.

3. Now for characters if you are looking at this and wondering 'how does my character fit in' there are many ways a person can. For example in this story I think the pumpkin patch is becoming more active. Expanding. Jones has been sent as a joint venture with his company to investigate because he is good at things like that. If your character works for a company like Icarus or Umbrella maybe something similar has happened. Maybe you are a random monster hunter that has heard of this and seeks to see what is gong on. Maybe you are just some random person who wanders into town at the right... or rather wrong time. Lots of ways this could go.... but if you are interested in this.... and I hope some people are I need the following things for planning.

-Which character you would like to bring in.
-What is there reason for being in the area, bonus points for creativity or detail.
- Why your character will work well for this.

Please consider trying out and remember... It is better to light a flamethrower then fear the dark.

Welp it takes a hell of a lot to kill my demons, Ruby and Anya - Phoebe and Morgana have a wide range of magic and likely wouldn't hesitate to use it (they're both heroic enough to jump into this alone without wanting to endanger any other lesser powered beings, as well), my OUAT muse is dead...

OKAY SO IMMA THROW MY TWO CASTERS AT THIS. You can decide which one is better suited, if you even want either! Casters use magic, buuut are generally very kill-able - stab 'em and they die, and whatnot.


Ridley is a Siren. Her speciality is mind control and seduction - neeeither of which would be very useful against an evil pumpkin patch and she's still quite young, so her other more general magical abilities aren't really perfect yet. So maybe she'd work? Her reason for being involved would be that she's traveling with the Ninth Doctor and the rather dysfunctional crew he's assembled, at the moment. Looking into something like this is probably something they'd do, or at least send Ridley to do.

And Sarafine is considerably more powerful, but also considerably more wary around Mortals. She's utterly convinced that they're all pREJUDICED AGAINST MAGIC USERS, so she wouldn't reveal her abilities unless it was the most dire of situations - like, she'd literally probably let everyone else on this team die before she interfered. Nice of her, right :]. She's under orders to investigate the weird-ass shit that keeps happening around Am, so that's what would draw her into this. She's also typically who I have the most muse for, so she'd enable me to do pretty quick posts.
