How long had she been dead, she wondered. She'd lost track of time after exploring so many dream bubbles in her "dead" form. She'd met some dreaming humans, and even some trolls she couldn't recognize. She was pretty sure she'd even seen Nepeta at one point....but she really hoped that wasn't true. Who would have the nerve to kill such a sweet troll like Nepeta?
Feferi continued to wander through the dream bubbles as if she were searching for someone. But that wasn't really true. She was lost and alone. How was she supposed to unite the two races being dead? Was Gl'bgolyb's prophecy wrong?
Her wandering finally brought her to a dream bubble taking place on a beach.
The sunlight felt warm against her skin, and the spray of the ocean was cool. The sand was glistening white under her feet. It felt real to her.
She turned towards the water and watched the waves form not too far off from shore. She even took a couple steps towards into the water and let the small waves run over her feet.
A smile crossed the heiress' face as she walked deeper and deeper into the water. She splashed around as she went, swimming under waves, and just having a good time.
After a while, she rested on her back and let the water move around her. Her hair floated around her, like thick, black, tendrils. As she floated about, she kept her eyes closed as she tried to relax.
Though the memories of her friends and untimely death still plagued her.
She let out a sigh, feeling a few tears fall down her face.
"I just want to be alive..."

Vacation. Mako had to admit that it was an interesting concept and not one he had done before. Granted when you did what you love every day was a vacation but previously his time off as a pirate had been time in port where money would fall from his fingers as he enjoyed himself. Fast forward a couple centuries or so and the world had changed so much. And now he was the primary bodyguard andboyfriend kinda of one of the richest woman on the planet. It wasn't a bad gig for an out of date sharkman from the age of pirates. And when your cotten candy haired boss (He had finally got a chance to try that at a fair and had a new favorite dessert) told you that it was vacation time he didn't argue. He had hit the beach while she hung out in the hotel with room service.
True... he had been hoping she would join him but she didn't seem to like his speedo much nor his suggestion of a swimsuit for her. She had shot him a few times but since she had used a low caliber gun it hadn't even pierced his skin so he had taken it as a hint to head out and thus into the ocean wearing naught but a speedo and a 'Hawaiian' shirt he had gone. His sleek yet eight foot tall form spearing through the water like a dart. His black hair streaming into the water behind him. His jet black eyes set in an sharklike yet rather handsome face looking for anything interesting. His mouth slightly open revealing rows of serrated shark teeth like a conveyer belt of death. His clawed fingers occasionally reaching out and shoving an interesting fish into his maw which shredded it like paper.
He had been at this for hours. Enjoying the time in the ocean when he smelled it... something... new. Something he had never smelled before. His grin widened. He loved new and interesting. The only thing he truly feared was boredom and he surged in the direction of the smell. It was odd... it smelled like nothing he had smelled before. It wasn't fish... but... it was... it definitely wasn't human. There was none of that slight copper smell. This smelled.... vaguely raspberry like... but not. He shrugged and surged through the water for a while tracking the scent in the water before he saw her. Above himself and froze. It... no... she... maybe? Kinda looked like him.
She smelled nothing like him.... and she had these odd... horns poking out her head. He could see them peek out through her floating black hair. The hair was the right color and so was the skin but... as he slowly swam closer he saw her skin was smooth like a human's, not rough like a shark's. She also had... fins on the side of her head? And unlike himself where his fingers ended in gripping and ripping claws her fingers seemed to end in fingernails. He briefly considered taking a bite to see what she tasted like but... while that would be interesting he had a feeling talking to her would be more interesting... especially when he heard her wish she was alive. After a statement like that he had to make an entrance...
Slowly as to not to get her attention he floated to the surface 'above' her head and floated on his back as quietly as he could before moving a hand just enough to propel himself into her field of vision in the corner of her eye. His eight foot form floating, his smile literally going from ear to ear he spoke for the first time in a few hours.
"Huh... you smell plenty alive to me."
He looked tilted his head just enough to get a perfect view of her expression and couldn't help but laugh a bit. His teeth clacking together with enough force to cause the sound of bone on bone to ring out with each laugh.

Feferi had been lost in thought when Mako floated into her field of vision. It wasn't until he spoke that she noticed him. Her eyes widened at the creature in her peripherals. She noticed that this creature, or person, was larger than her. She knew it wasn't a whale or anything related to any other fish she'd seen in her culling days...and it startled her.
She let out a small squeak-like noise as she proceeded to roll and flail herself into a Peixes hair burrito.
Feferi struggled to release herself from her self made hair trap, but it was no use...she was quiet stuck. No matter how much she twisted herself around in the water, or tried to pry her hair apart, it only made her situation worse.
"Next time you try to sneak up on somefis)(ie cod you please coug)( or somefin first?"

Mako watched with amusement as the... being... tangled herself in her own hair and finally slowed his amusement faced till his laughing stopped, his face still showed his near constant smile as he rolled over in the water and 'stood' in the water. With only his top half visible over the water he looked at the strange female and slowly shook his head and said a silent prayer to God, The Saints, and every last single Angel to please please not let this girl be related to him somehow. He doubted this was a case anyways. She just didn't smell right, didn't look quite right. She was... something new... and that was just wonderful.
"If I coughed or something then I wouldn't be able to sneak up on anyone would I? Plus then this fresh amusement wouldn't have started quite off as interesting."
Mako treaded water slowly, trying not to make any sudden moves that might farther spook the girl. He was a creature of instincts and his own were screaming that there was no way she was as harmless as she first seemed. A more cautious person would swim off and leave her to her new hair troubles but... while Mako was a survivor. A very good survivor this was a mystery and mysteries were far to interesting to not poke repeatedly with a stick.
"So tell me... Just between you, me and the ocean. Who and what are you, and what was that comment about being dead? Come on... you can tell me."
He pointed at her with the old double finger point as he winked at her.
"I'll be your best friend. Nothing more though sorry."
He spun around in the water and leaned inwards putting one finger in a 'keep this quiet' gesture. His infectious grin turned briefly serious... but was quaking a bit as his sheer mirth was a cracked dam ready to burst.
"See, I am already dating someone. I believe people call it 'going steady' nowadays."
He sat back as his smile spread literally ear to ear once more his teeth spreading in his jubilation and joy and how interesting things were... and a bit of showing off.
"Granted she disagrees on the fact we are dating but she barely shoots me at all these days so that is one step in the right direction I suppose.... but that is enough about me and the woman I love more then a thousand fat dead merchants. This is about you and your interesting interesting life."
He leaned forward floating on his stomach bending back so he could rest his chin on his hands. The bend in his back made it almost seem he was resting his elbows on the water.

Feferi struggled to get herself unraveled from her hair. It took her a while, but slowly and surely, she started to free herself. Though her attention wasn't on her hair, but the strange creature that spoke to her.
"I'm a Troll from Alternia," she replied politely as she attacked the last of her hair, "My name is Feferi Peixes."
She let out a small "phew" as she finally freed herself from her hair trap. She ran her fingers through it to try and get rid of any knots that had formed. She looked Mako over, finding him quite interesting, yet slightly threatening. Though, part of her was sure that she could protect herself since she still had her 2x3dent on her.
"I'm…reelly not looking for a new best friend….my….ex-best friend s)(ot me t)(roug)( t)(e c)(est and krilled me…at least I t)(oug)(t so…I was dead for a w)(ile, but t)(en I s)(owed up )(ere..."
She too started to tread water as she listened to Mako continue.
"So t)(is person is your matesprite?" She asked.

Mako floated for a moment thinking... had she just said... 'krilled me'? He wondered if that was a slip of the tongue or something mentally shrugging and far more interested in the whole 'I was shot through the chest, was dead, and now am not' thing then anything else he couldn't believe how much he had lucked out in a truly interesting individual. Not a boring zombie who would moan at him, or a vampire who were all so arrogant about their immortality instead this was something new and very very different. If he had been on dry land he might have bounced up and down like a little school boy hopped up on candy. As it was he seemed to bob a bit more then would be usual in the current waves as he continued to grin.
"Matesprite?... Mate... sprite?"
Mako tilted his head in obvious confusion for a moment before straitening it as his smile slackened for a moment. His eyes glazed over as he looked into the horizon... and his mind was flash branded with a mental image of his 'Little Princess' wearing a tiera, a pair of dragonfly wings and a pink outfit with hearts all over it. For a moment this was all his mind could think of... and then he capsized in the water laughing. The laugh was long, loud, and his teeth continued you clash against each other in the water and out. Finally he calmed down and he looked at the woman he had doubtlessly confused if not terrified. He slowly regained his 'footing' and bobbed once more relatively calmly.
"Hehe... sorry.. just... my mind. It's ...hehe... she would so shoot me in a place that isn't bulletproof if I told her I had that mental picture. Heheh..."
He calmed down a bit more before he thought back over what he had been laughing about.
"Sorry about the laughter I am sure Matesprite is a whole.. thing for... umn...... whatever you are.... I am Mako, Captain Mako, known to some as the Jovial Devil. As for what Bao and me... I suppose we are a work in progress. I would leave it at that. But... tell me... seriously. What are you? Are your people from this world? Or are you one of those 'aliens' I hear about in the news."

Feferi kept her guard up as she watched Mako move about as he spoke. She kept a hand at the ready to whip out her 2x3dent if she needed to. Though, she found it very curious that the male had teeth like her. Most sea dwellers tended to have shark-like teeth compared to land dwelling trolls.
She nodded as Mako introduced himself, listening to him as he describe this "Bao" person. It sounded like they were in a complicated matespriteship to her. But she woulnd't bother the creature anymore with her troll relationship knowledge.
She looked a bit confused when Mako asked what she was. Hadn't she just told him what she was? Or maybe he thought she was joking around?
"W)(ale I'm a troll. A sea dwelling troll, but I )(ave a lot of land dwelling troll friends too. We're from a planet called Alternia like I said before," she trailed off for a second as she thought about her friends.
"I guess you could call us aliens, but we call our race trolls," she added.
