Special Phase: Prologue The Prologue is a Phase that will only happen once, in the first "Chapter" of the plot. Within this thread, every participant will find themselves somewhere within the facility and summoned to the Assembly Hall. Upon arriving there, Monobear will show himself and explain the state of things, before leaving the group to do as they wish. This will likely be a short thread, with one or two replies per participant at most. After this point, things will function as normally, moving on to Phase Two. Phase One: Motive Phase One will occur several days of time in-universe have passed with no murder. Monobear will gather the surviving alliance members to the Assembly Hall and present them with a motive to entice them into killing. At least one reply is required from every member in attendance, but this should be a very short thread. Afterward, events will move on to the second Phase. Phase Two: Free Time This is, arguably, the most important Phase of them all. Within this Phase, characters are free to move about and interact as they will. While participation in this Phase is not strictly required, it is strongly encouraged, as otherwise, how would you form bonds with other characters and learn reasons why you should/should not murder them if you have to or the best ways to do that, or even simply find out new things about the facility? This Phase will usually last for several days in-universe. Phase Three: Murder Sometime during the Free Time event, a murderer and victim will be selected via random number generator. The reasoning and methodology for the murder will be worked out between the cuplrit, victim, myself and Kyt, and shortly thereafter, a thread will be posted where someone discovers the corpse, and as soon as three characters have discovered the body, Monobear will announce the Investigation phase. More than three characters are of course able to post for the discovery, but only three are required. Phase Four: Investigation Once the Investigation phase begins, Monobear will pass out a file detailing the cause of death of the victim and send the survivors out to gather evidence and find the culprit. It is required everyone make at least one post in this event to at least make note of going to look, even if they don't actually find anything. But you had better be out there looking, for your own sake. Phase Five: Trial After a sufficient amount of time has passed -- usually about one day in-universe -- Monobear will announce the Trial, and instruct the survivors to report to a formerly locked area of the facility. The Trial should easily be the longest thread in terms of number of posts, as the characters argue back and forth over all of the details and evidence they have gathered, forming opinions, theories and trying to reach a consensus. Once a sufficient amount of time has passed and a consensus is reached, the culprit breaks down and confesses or some other event occurs which warrants it, Monobear will call a vote. Upon a unanimous vote of guilt on the culprit, the cuplrit will be executed and the survivors will be left to their own devices, as the chain of events starts over again.

At the start of the plot, only the very basic areas of the facility will be available. And, if you have perused the Locations and Items thread, you may have noticed that the descriptions for such are rather limited and extremely vague. This is done intentionally. As characters explore the facility IC, information will be revealed to them so that details can be filled in from their observations and what they find out.
Exploration is a very important activity, as, as things stand, next to nothing is known about the facility. Exploring will not only reveal more details about the facility, but uncover more secrets about it and even yourselves.
You may notice that only a very small area of the facility is open at the moment, with other areas being sealed off and inaccessible. As events progress, these areas may be opened for exploration. When they are, it will be up to you to go and find out things about them! Only the first area is given any sort of detail at all ahead of time.

As mentioned briefly during the Phases discussion, the Murder will be a phase all to itself. A very short, but very important, phase. How it works will be a bit different than you may expect. As mentioned, during the Free Time Phase a Victim and a Culprit will be selected via random number generator and contacted. Once they have been chosen, a scenario will be worked out for how the murder may have occurred. If we cannot reach such a conclusion, the RNG will be re-rolled for a possibly more favorable outcome until a scenario can be achieved.
Upon a scenario being finalized, the one who initially discovers the corpse will be selected via another roll of the RNG, and they will be PMed to inform them of the whereabouts so that they may discover it. After this, the thread will be started and it will proceed as outlined above in the Phases post. Once three characters have discovered the body, the event will be done, but not closed just yet, and you may continue to post if you wish.
Eventually, Monobear will arrive on the scene to deliver a Monobear File containing information about the cause of death, and mark the beginning of the Investigation.

The Investigation Phase is an extremely important Phase, and should not be missed whatsoever. During this phase, each member will be contacted individually and an alibi worked out for them, as well as what they saw and when. This will be counted as their testimony when it is discovered IC, and will be used as an important piece of evidence during the Trial.
In addition to this, it will be very wise to explore every inch of the facility currently open to exploration, in an attempt to uncover clues. Even the smallest bits of information could turn out to be more important than you might think, so don't discredit anything you come across, especially if it seems at all out of place.

The Trial. As mentioned, this will likely be the longest thread in each "chapter", with by far the largest number of posts. It is important to bring up each and every piece of information and evidence you have gathered in this event, and try to steer the blame away from yourself -- especially if you happen to actually be the culprit!
There are a number of things which can happen during a Trial, most of which involve simple rapid back-and-forth ranting and banter. Occasionally, when tempers get especially high, things may erupt into a literal battle of words between two characters in particular. These events will be announced at appropriate times by me, on my Admin account, in a Dungeon Master fashion, and allowed to play out until one side has been crushed, wherein the Trial will resume normally.
When events have progressed far enough, and the culprit has finally been outed to the entire gathering, but they may not be ready to admit it or the group is not completely convinced, a final battle of words may be required, or a complete review and summation of the evidence to hammer the final nail in the culprit's coffin.
After this, or if the culprit simply breaks down and confesses, a vote will be called. When the vote is concluded, a unanimous vote of guilt for one person -- if that person is the culprit -- will see the culprit punished. If they have anything left to say, the culprit may have some last words, before they are literally dragged away for their "punishment" -- an extremely brutal execution.
The executions are not only brutal, but comedic to an extent, extremely unorthodox, and unnecessarily violent and sometimes drawn-out or overdone to a grossly exaggerated extent.
After the execution, the Trial will be over.

Private Messages will play a very important role in this entire plot. Not only will they be used to notify participants of a great number of things, they will also be used to relay information about events and locations to those characters who are concerned.
As mentioned in the Exploration post, the available information about the facility is extremely limited. Upon further study and examination of the surroundings and rooms of the facility, various information will be PMed to the person(s) in each room or area, containing details about that area, and from the observations they make IC from this new data, new information will be filled in to the Locations and Items thread.
PMs will also be used to contact potential victims and culprits and inform them of their status. For longer discussions pertaining ot such matters, AIM or some other isntant messenger may be substituted, but the primary means of contact will be through PM.
Above all, however, do not discuss any PMs you receive with anyone but either myself or Kyt, and ESPECIALLY do not talk about them in public.

The threads in this plot will work somewhat different than most others. With the exception of private threads meant for a specific purpose, all threads will involve and be open to every participant in the plot. All threads will be started by yours truly, in a very Dungeon Master-esque fashion, setting the scene and typically announcing the Phase and what the first step should be.
To set up a private thread, simply contact me with who'd you'd like to have involved in it. Typically these threads will chiefly be used for ploanning attempts to escape, plotting out ways to murder or team-up to avoid death, or such nonsense. Alternatively, since Dangan Ronpa was heavily focused on character interaction and relationships, there may occasionally be threads pup together, voluntary or not, for a short segment of spending time with two characters in particular, learning more about the other and finding weaknesses that could make it easier to murder or lead them along to murdering someone for you, or any other number of schemes.
Due to the nature of the entire facility being available in each thread, and the large number of characters that will be in each thread, not all of which will be in the same area more often than not, please end each of your posts with a simple note of their location, preferably in an ooc note. For ease of use, you may use this, if you so desire:
Location:
