After being in this strange, new world for a few day's time, Alice still wasn't entirely sure what to make of it. The idea of living with another person certainly wasn't unheard of, and Alice was no stranger to the bizarre and unorthodox, but to live in such close proximity to all manner of creatures that came through these...rifts was an experience in and of itself. And to be entirely honest, she hadn't quite decided if it was a good one or a bad one just yet. At the very least, though, most of them made her look as though her bill of mental health was completely clean in comparison. Perhaps this really was some offshoot of Wonderland that she hadn't visited yet.
There was comfort to be taken as well in fellow partners in semi-sanity. While Alice wasn't quick to trust most people, the fact that she was indeed very much out of her element in this place, though she hardly wanted to admit it, was a factor in her placing at least some confidence in Anya to at least not murder her in her bed. And, to be frank, the vengeance demon's blunt attitude was quite refreshing after the cryptic and enigmatic residents of Wonderland. To be told everything up front was a blessing in and of itself.
However. The rest of the residents of the building that many who found themselves in this new world had taken up lodging in were hardly as tolerable. Alice was quite certain she never wanted to hear the bizarre sounds that the lizard above them played (Anya had explained later on that it was supposed to be music, but it hardly sounded like any music Alice had ever heard) ever again, and the entire floor full of people no older than her was...rather questionable. Especially with the great amounts of shouting and chaos that seemed to come from below the small flat that Anya and Alice shared. And the trolls down the hall were arguably worse, especially the younger's tendency to shout rather than speak.
By far the worst, though, were the girls that resided in the flat next to theirs. Apparently having had some experience with the supernatural in the past, they were hell-bent on capturing some sort of evidence that their next-door neighbors were indeed odd. Honestly, Alice wouldn't really consider herself supernatural, but she supposed that leaping effortlessly from building to building on a daily basis might look just a bit strange. And Anya was willing enough to tell others what she happened to be. There really seemed to be no point, especially considering that many were quite used to the bizarre in this city, but either way, the two of them were forced to put up with their attempts of capture and extermination.
Including cardboard boxes set up in the middle of the living room, held up by a stick and housing "bait" in the form of a crudely painted demonic symbol.
"One would think they aren't even trying anymore," Alice said dismissively, eyeing the box with disdain. Still, she did step carefully around it, making sure not to touch it just yet. Knowing those girls, there was probably something more elaborate that awaited those who set off their trap. Really, it was a surprise that Bindi hadn't managed to set it off, but then again, Alice supposed that the cat had to have some sense. Maybe.
